This was me & my fiance first time trying this place and BOYY did it not disappoint! Legitimately the best pasta I've ever had. I got the Spicy Crab pasta and my fiance got the Lobster Mac & Cheese (we placed an order for carry out) and both were fantastic! Portions are HUGE! And the food & ingredient quality is second to none! Oh and I got a small berry salad with extra goat cheese, hands down my favorite salad now. This place is a gem💎
Meet me in Saint Louis? Better yet.. Meet me in the Valley!! We kicked things off with the Whiskey Shrimp — grilled shrimp with that signature whiskey-mustard cream sauce and toast points. For entrées, I ordered the Linguini Tutto Mare packed with seafood, and Nathan went for the Seared Pork Rib Chop topped with their whiskey grain mustard sauce and served with potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. We split the tiramisu for dessert, and honestly… it was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. GIO Modern Italian absolutely blew us away, and it’s easy to see why they won Best Italian Restaurant in West County. The food, the service, the whole vibe… THE REAL DEAL! Executive Chef Mario pours so much passion into every dish and always keeps things exciting with weekly inspiration specials. This is authentic Italian dining right here in West County, and we absolutely loved it. Make sure you ask for Amanda when you stop by, she was amazing!
My girlfriends and I had a nice meal here last night before our early show at The Factory! The service was fabulous! (We loved our cute funny young waiter named Landon) We started off our dinner with a few great cocktails. I had the Snowball Martini and my friend a nice Margarita. Whoa my lovely martini was tasty and they surely didn't skim on the alcohol!🍸 I loved my Tortellini pasta entree with mushrooms, peas, parm and truffle oil! It was so fresh and delicious.😋I also tried the small apple and fig salad. It was solidly a yummy choice. My three friends liked their salmon entrees and the roasted chicken picatta dish which was a huge serving. Such a large portion that she ended up taking half home. Nice that they have happy hour everyday 7 days a week. Their cocktail, wine, beer, selection is pretty extensive. I would 100% come back here again when in the Chesterfield Valley. We had a hard time deciding on our entrees, because everything sounded like solid good delicious choices. Thank you for making our evening memorable. I'd love to come back again for dinner, or for brunch or lunch in the future.
Best choice for dinner on New Years Eve! Upscale feel, delicious food and our server Amanda went above and beyond her duties(taking photos in front of the Christmas tree)! I am looking forward to bringing more friends to this little hidden gem!
Everything about our experience was too notch! From the service to the food to the drinks. Absolutely phenomenal!
Starving and shameless per my usually so I did brunch and lunch at Gio’s. One or the other are for quitters and I’m an expert. For Lunch, I had the whiskey shrimp and they were saucy, garlicky, Parmesany. So addictive. Bring me another order right now. For Brunch, have to keep things #stlouispescatarianapproved so lobster benedicts it is. They gave me the hollandaise on the side for Instagram pour-action. The bread was a crispy baguette instead of the boring English muffin. Service fast & bar vibes strong. I even got work done while eating! That’s overachieving on a Saturday!
Gio Modern Italian (138 Chesterfield Towne Center, Chesterfield, MO 63005) — Sunlit Modernity with a Cozy Italian Heart Visited: Thursday, October 02, 2025 UTC Atmosphere Modern Italian in the best sense: clean-lined, softly lit, and buoyed by gracious service that knows when to appear and when to let you linger. Tucked into a plaza off Long Road in Chesterfield Valley, Gio feels like a polished find—one of those addresses you pass twice, then guard like a secret. Large windows frame the outside world in generous brushstrokes, letting the dining room glow with late-day light. It’s stylish without stiffness, the sort of room where a date night with my spouse could stretch into an encore espresso simply because the evening fits just right. The Food I Tasted Arancini ($13): Signature saffron risotto orbs, fried to a delicate, golden hush. Break the crust and you’re met with molten mozzarella, sweet peas, and savory meat—each bite a little crescendo of aroma and comfort. They land at the table hot enough to fog your glasses, which is to say: precisely right. Baked Lobster Mac N’ Cheese ($28): A velvet‑lined indulgence. The butternut cream brings gentle autumnal sweetness, the roasted squash adds caramelized depth, and the fontina melts into a silken, savory blanket. Generous ribbons of lobster weave through, their briny richness countered by a breadcrumb and bacon crown that crackles into every forkful. It’s composed decadence—luxury taught to sit up straight. Seared Pork Rib Chop ($27): A confident sear gives way to juicy integrity, the kind of chop that announces itself with aroma before the first cut. The whiskey grain mustard sauce is a clever flourish—warm, slightly boisterous, and exactly the zing a rib chop adores. Potatoes offer a buttery anchor, asparagus provides a green snap, and mushrooms deliver earthiness, tying the plate together with an understated nod to the forest floor. Price & Value With appetizers at $13 and mains at $27–$28, Gio Modern Italian sits in that civilized corridor between casual and celebratory. Portions satisfy without shouting, and the ingredients—lobster that actually tastes of the sea, a properly seared chop, saffron‑kissed arancini—justify the spend. In short: excellent value for thoughtfully executed comfort dressed in modern tailoring. Will I Return? Yes. Gio captures the modern Italian brief with style and tenderness: sunlight, smart flavors, and hospitality that makes time behave itself. I’ll be back for another round of arancini, that swaggering pork chop, and a leisurely gaze through those big windows while the Valley drifts by.
We had a great time here. Our server was very attentive. The mushroom pasta was phenomenal. There were so many mushrooms, and the sauce was packed with flavor. The noodles were wonderful too. The margarita pizza was okay, but had too much oregano.
I wish I remember our servers name but she was FANTASTIC!! Our big table had people with allergies and she went above and beyond to help us with our food choice. She had great recommendations, super knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure we were accommodated. We had the Spicy Crab linguini, pizzas, bolognese, bordelaise, rigatoni pesto to name a few and it was all 5 stars!
Birthday dinner 2 times over the past couple years. Awesome staff, incredible food. Couldn’t be happier.
I have to say this was unexpected. Very nice place, the decor is very comfortable. We actually arrived during a happy hour. For happy hour they had multiple food items for $5 each. Then why not, Let's give a few a these a try. Ordered several different appetizers, I have to say they were all excellent. I can't wait to go back here and try and actually meal great service also. Favorite was the buschetta fries and the pizza.
Gio Modern Italian in Chesterfield? Absolutely yes. Came in for happy hour with friends and left already planning my next visit. I had: 🍸 The Elderflower Spritz – light, refreshing, and basically what summer would taste like if it had a cocktail menu. 💜 The Lavender French 75 – beautiful, balanced, and packed just enough punch to make you forget you still have emails to answer. 🍽️ And yes, I ordered three appetizers all for myself because I don’t play around when the food’s this good: — White bean hummus with crostini and a mountain of briny olives — Arancini balls that were perfectly crisp on the outside and melty magic inside — Meatballs that could double as emotional support if they weren’t so delicious The entire bill? Just $44. For two cocktails and three apps. A steal, considering the vibe is upscale, the decor is modern and cozy, and the service was friendly and on point. Whether you’re catching up with girlfriends, treating yourself, or just need a solid happy hour spot in the Valley—this is it. 10/10 would recommend. 📍 Pro tip: Sit near the windows for the natural light and the perfect Instagram shot. The staff at GIO went out of their way to make my birthday dinner amazing. On a day which they had many issues come up in their dining room, they still got us a reserved table in the bar area for 6 of us. We all loved our food, there are plenty of unique options on their menu, and nothing disappointed. My only criticism would be that the pizza crust was a bit too tough, but they had a new person training on pizza. It took a little bit to get our pizzas, but we hardly noticed. Our lovely waiter then informed us they wouldn't make us pay for them! On top of all of that, I got probably the coolest free dessert ever, shown in my picture.
We ordered spicy crab pasta, seafood pasta, lasagna and kids pizza and all of them are sooo good. You can taste that it is truly made from scratch and so fresh. Crab is without shell and the amount of food is well deserved the value too. Our waitress Tarn is also very considerable and takes good care of us. Would definitely come back next time!
Delicious! Vibes were good, gorgeous decor, clean and pretty bathroom, and of course good food. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever. Surprisingly the fries were so good that we ordered extras.
We had an amazing time celebrating my friend's birthday at GIO. Our server Mike went above and beyond to make the experience wonderful. They were very accommodating with a large group (8+), which nowadays a lot of restaurants don't do quite as well; So it is a great place to celebrate special moments.
🇮🇹 Very impressive ambiance and service. They were packed for a Monday night, however everything was beautiful. Their happy hour is a great way to become familiar their menu. 👨🏻🍳 The staff were professional, knowledgeable and personable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great place for lunch or dinner. Friendly staff is super accommodating. They offer gluten-free options and a wonderful lunch menu. Heads up, if you order their half-salad, half-pasta lunch special, you'll want to ask for the dinner menu if you want to know what's in any of the pasta dishes. That said, everything was fantastic! Highly recommend the penne vodka pasta and very berry salad. The dessert menu looked good, but I was too stuffed to try anything. Maybe next time.
Salads and pasta are amazing! There is a great drink selection, and Tarn gave us perfect service. Will be back!
Great food and very friendly service. The steak was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was quiet to hear the conversation at your own table. Prices are a little high but match the quality of the food. Great place for a business dinner or date night.
I recently hosted a Christmas party for friends and colleagues at Gio’s in the Valley and it was a great experience. The staff did an excellent job, and the hors d’oeuvres and drinks were spot on. Everything ran smoothly and everyone had a good time. Thanks to Gio and the team for a well-done event.
The food and our server (EJ) were very good! There was 10 of us and everyone was raving about the food and the experience! With the high ceilings the noise level needs improvement. Some sound absorbing materials could be hung from the ceiling to reduce the noise level.
We were a family of 15 dining out during the holiday season. Gio’s Modern Italian did an excellent job in meeting every need. My family and I all had positive stories regarding the food, service, and atmosphere. Goi’s turned an evening of dining out into a memorable family experience.
The food and service here is amazing! Tarn was great. If you are gluten free this place is great! They have a separate menu and took the time to make sure everything was gf.
This is my favorite restaurant! I love the calamari, lobster mac, and really everything on their menu. The seasonal cocktails are always so fun and festive. the ambiance is so fun!
We went for lunch on Valentine's Day. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the fresh roses on the table, and the friendly staff. The price was reasonable, and I thought the food tasted great.
Great afternoon date spot. Mike our server was terrific. Holiday Hugo hit the spot and we shared an appetizer and pizza. Will e back again soon. Brava!
Always a delight to eat at Gio’s. Landon was great and very attentive. The wine flights were perfect and our food was generous and delicious. Will definitely return.
Sophie was a wonderful server. She was very friendly and helpful. We had a large party and she took good care of us.
Tarn was our server and very attentive to our gluten sensitivity. The food was delicious. I was so excited to get lobster Mac and cheese and the spicy crab meal was delicious. I am so glad we found this restaurant. So happy that they actually provide a decent menu for gluten free diners. We will definitely come back.
Great Valentines Day decor and vibe. Our server, Tarn, was excellent. She refilled our drinks several times, explained the specials well, and provided very attentive and friendly service. The bbq chicken pizza and the filet were both excellent.
Food was absolutely incredible. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese and it was delicious from first bite to eating the leftovers the next day. My wife and I were sat quickly, the service was great, but the food was the serious difference maker. Will be back for sure!
Everyone in our group, including our 2 kids, loved it. The food came quick, was hot, and tasted delicious.I also appreciated that there was space between tables so you didn't feel crammed and you could talk to those at your table without hearing everyone else. We will be back and can't wait to try something else on the menu since there were so many great options.
The bruschetta was great, so was the apple and fig salad. The beef medallions where cooked, especially good if you like boulanais sauce. The entire wait staff was perfect. Only problem was it was noisy, difficult to talk.
We had a great experience at Gio's. Our Waiter Bem was very attentive and friendly. The calamari was lights and perfect amount for 2 people for an appetizer. We also had the Elderflower smash and Lavendar French drinks. Both very nice and different. For entrees we had the baked lobster mac and cheese and the garden risotto. The portions were huge, they were piping hot and Delicious! We have also had their pizza to go on another occasion, both the hand tossed and Sicilian pan. They were both great as well. I would definitely recommend Gio's.
The gluten free penne a la vodka was delicious. Chris our server was fast and fun. My only complaint is that it tends to be very loud in the dining room because all the surfaces are hard. Voices echo a lot. Consider adding some sound muffling curtains.
The four of us enjoyed our dinners. Only flaw was a collection of water under the center of the supreme pizza- assuming from the vegetables, but unpleasantly soggy. The waiter took it off the bill despite our telling him not to worry about it. The eggplant parm and the lasagna was outstanding, and an entree salad was delicious. I would go back just for the eggplant parm!
I was seated shortly upon arrival. The service was excellent even though a busy period. Whiskey shrimp was excellent. Also had an Italian style pizza and vodka penne. Both were delicious!
We went for brunch on Mother’s Day of 2025. The food was outstanding. Everything was well-made from scratch. We could tell a lot of the server staff were young and had never served before. We had to ask several times for a refill on coffee, which is no big deal, but it was less than comfortable. There was a large party that was sharing the room with us and they had come before us, our server was very polite and pointed out that we should order as quickly as possible so that our orders will not be backlogged. We did that and our food came out quickly
We recently dined at this Italian restaurant and enjoyed a mostly delicious experience. To start, the fresh bread was warm and satisfying a perfect way to begin the meal. The arancini was also a standout, with a great twist: it had more meat than rice, which gave it a heartier and more flavorful bite than the usual version. The berry salad was another highlight light, refreshing, and ideal for a hot day. I also tried the prosciutto pasta, which was creamy, savory, and well-balanced, with a rich flavor that didn’t feel too heavy. However, the calamari missed the mark. It lacked seasoning, and the batter was too greasy, which didn’t pair well with the squid. I’d recommend they rework the ingredients or preparation to better match the quality of their other dishes. One thing to note: service was a bit slow, so be sure to allow extra time if you’re dining in, especially during busy hours. I also recommend making a reservation, as the place tends to fill up quickly. Overall, a charming spot with standout dishes, friendly vibes, and just a couple of areas for improvement.
the spicy crab linguine was the best tasting of the dishes, and it was definitely spicy. the toasted ravioli and bruschetta were pretty good. unfortunately the pizza was soggy and the meatballs weren’t very good at all. the service was okay, they were definitely short staffed.
Solid 4 stars. Food tastes great most of the time. Pizza is very good. This place a little bit pricey, but worth it if chosing the right menu items. I recommend this place and will most likely eat here again.
This is my first time eating here since they bought out Vito's. It's much the same concept -- a little upscale (yet not elegant) venue that's still reasonably priced. Pleasant bar, nice patio (unfortunately nothing scenic... just the parking lot), and a good menu selection. They also offer a solid range of "select two" soup / salad / sandwich combinations.
Great service, nice wine and cocktails. Food was very good as well. Nice patio area.
The food was pretty good. The service wasn’t the best. We waited for a while to place our order. We were a party of 5. I had to literally get the waiter’s attention to come take our order. He as well as other waiters walked past our table several times before coming to take our order. The food came out in a decent amount of time. We were doing brunch to celebrate my birthday. The waiter offered to give me a dessert on the house but I passed. It’s a maybe if we would return or not. The atmosphere was pretty nice. There is bar seating with several tvs. Then the dining area where we were seated and there is a nice sized patio area
Server (Wayne) was nice, not good, at this type eatery I would have expected the table to be cleared between courses. Had to ask for a re-fill on beverage. We offered a to go drink, which we declined. The food was not to our liking at ALL! Carrots in spaghetti - big NO! The chicken entree we had was totally different from what we have had from different restaurants. The place itself is nice. I guess Modern Italian is not our thing! Based on the reviews I was looking forward to a great meal. It was a big disappointment as we were celebrating our anniversary. (Which I heard other servers asking their tables if they were celebrating an event not our server) We will stick to The Hill
Love this place and the food is excellent quality. Very nice atmosphere and pretty Christmas decor. I made a reservation for 445 and there weren’t many people at the restaurant yet. We waited at our table over 20 minutes before we had a server stop by. I finally asked the front hostess and we had someone come by. It was odd. We had multiple people come in after us and get service immediately. I probably wouldn’t return because of this. The server we finally had was so nice and wonderful, very attentive. Again, food was amazing! I normally wouldn’t mind but we had movie tickets right after that made us late. If you’re not in a hurry this place would be good.
Store bought toasted ravioli, chicken sandwich was undercooked twice. No pasta on the menu? Service was exceptional, the staff deserve praise but I have no idea what's going on in the kitchen.
For a nice restaurant, it was way so too loud and noisy. My friend and I had to sit next to each other to hear ourselves talk. I am a good eater. But I have to say, this is the first time I have left most of my food on my plate. The French dip (meat) was horrible! The salad was soggy. My cocktail was good, but not worth the price it's size.
I fear one star for service is too much. My wife and I were looking forward to a nice dinner out and trying a new spot! Unfortunately we sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one even looked in our direction. The waiters were greeting other tables - looked like friends of theirs and continued to ignore us. We thought we would give the staff the benefit of the doubt, but as We saw other tables get seated and served, we knew we probably weren’t going to get waited on. So after sitting at our table for 20 minutes we walked out. It was especially disappointing because we had a babysitter and babysitters are $$ and we felt like we wasted a great evening out waiting to be acknowledged. Plus we had a reservation at Gio and by the time we walked out we knew everywhere else would be a long wait. Ultimately a really frustrating, disappointing experience. The atmosphere was nice but the service was nonexistent.
