This place is recommended by regulars. Don't let a few cosmetic issues (especially the exterior) put you off. We knew right away that we'd be happy with the experience. The owners are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Excellent food and excellent seafood. The warmth of Puglia is undeniable. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.
Truly excellent food, generous portions, very friendly service. A historic, slightly vintage venue. Tried it tonight for the first time, we'll definitely be back.
Authentic. If you're in a hurry or looking for luxury, this isn't for you; but if you want good, generous, and reasonably priced food, then stop by. Both the fried fish and the octopus were a hit, and compliments were pouring in from other tables for the appetizers and pasta dishes. Kudos to the lady who handled the service alone, but treated us with kid gloves.
A wonderful, small, traditional restaurant. The dining area was small, but perhaps it was this cozy feeling that convinced us to eat there two evenings. The service was also very friendly, although a basic knowledge of Italian is highly recommended. The food was very tasty, the menu was simple; you wouldn't need anything more. The mussels are worth ordering as an extra. However, the fried seafood portion is definitely enough to fill you up. The price is very reasonable. It was a pleasure to eat here.
I had dinner with my boyfriend. For our first course, we had Recco focaccia with cheese, a generous portion for two. For our second course, we had a mixed fried fish dish, excellent, and the Ligurian-style rabbit, which was very good, although a little bitter. Generous portions. Excellent service; the owner was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be back!
I've had Nanin on my list for a while now, but it's a shame I didn't try it sooner! The place is small, historic, but well-kept, clean, and quiet. We were warmly welcomed by the lady. We ordered traditional Ligurian dishes: pansotti in walnut sauce, picagge avvantate with pesto, potatoes, and green beans, all homemade the traditional way, delicious, and generous portions. For our main course, two slices of sea bass (caught, which must have been enormous) with olives and potatoes: this was also delicious, with crispy skin and a sauce deglazed with white wine, perfect with freshly mashed potatoes. We finished with a nice slice of pineapple and a lemon sorbet. What can I say: we'll be back soon to try everything else. Congratulations!!
Big portions, good food, hummer with linguine and bakala
Very tasty restaurant. The older waitress is adorable. Portions are huge. They also serve wine by the glass. Prices are very good. Tourists, get your dictionary out and come here :).
As I've written several times in my other reviews, I used to frequent the Riviera where my mother-in-law has a house and where my then-girlfriend lived before I took the leap and became a civilian... Back then, I was more inclined to meat, especially fillet steak, cooked in any way. Here, however, you eat typical Ligurian cuisine: excellent meat, excellent fish. First courses of all kinds, including excellent pesto and mushrooms. or a wide variety of sauces.... Now that I've refined my search for places to eat seasonal fish... Light but tasty dishes... Fish that tastes like fish once cooked... Anchovies when the time comes... cooked, but preferably fried. ... Now that I've lived in Lavagna for almost thirty years and my job for a multinational company doesn't take me around the world... This charming, delicious, comfortable, and for me, romantic restaurant is one of my favorite culinary destinations. The food is fantastic....Everything... The staff is delightfully friendly and knowledgeable. Regarding wines, my usual warning...They're very expensive, even for restaurateurs...so to avoid significantly increasing your bill...unless you're an expert...or you're not interested in saving money...ask for help...They'll do it with friendly expertise...you'll drink excellent wine at affordable prices..... One note...Convenient parking nearby Piazza Roma...Paid municipal parking with plenty of disabled parking spaces Parking is difficult closer...but it's a short distance... I've listed a few dishes...All good...as required by the system...in fact, after many years, I can assure you that everything is excellent... Easy disabled access Reservations are recommended, especially in the summer. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Ok
One of the best restaurants I have been in Italy. The spaghetti with seafood and the stuffed calamari was so delicious! Further, all of the personnel are extremely friendly!
Fantastic!
Ok.
True Ligurian cuisine in a historic location. We had lunch here invited by a special person who showed us the "real cuisine" of Chiavari. The restaurant is typical and it is clear that it is known in the area. It has no architectural barriers for any disabled people who can enter in a wheelchair. The owners are really welcoming and put us at ease right away. The mise en place is simple but nice and decent. The service was very good. Our host pointed out to us the best courses he already liked in this place. All dishes were very popular. Among other things, we have seen the menu, which is however conditioned by the catch of the day. Generous portions and high quality ingredients. The chosen dishes: Roasted octopus with pea purée and escarole, baby baby octopus on creamed potatoes and vegetables and, for dessert, we chose an apple sorbet with Calvados (divine!) Also the bread they brought us was home made. We tickled our palate with a good homemade "bread with olives" ... fantastic! The wine they suggested was "Verdicchio di Matelica" from the "Ggliardi" company. A structured wine, dry and slightly acidic, with a straw yellow color with greenish reflections, with notes of citrus fruits, lemons, minerals, honey, green apple and peach. Ideal with fish and seafood. We parked in the nearby piazza Roma, a short walk from the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try other local dishes.
Nice seafood restaurant with tasty cheese focaccia. Welcoming staff.
I’ve never experienced such a disgraceful, perhaps discriminatory behaviour towards visiting guests: we came without reservation on a friday evening in a half-filled restaurant, well-mannered, well-dressed and kindly asked for a table for two. After we denied having a reservation the old grey-haired lady unmistakably told us to leave the restaurant. After we stood outside we were kind of confused how harsh she was but did not even wonder about it until the next day when we tried to get a table for the second time. This time in an almost empty restaurant, we entered with a group of old Italians who directly received a table when again she looked at us not even letting us finish our sentence, immediately denying with multiple “No, Grazie” and pushing the palm of her hands towards us and the door, as if we were criminals. Probably this place is not suitable for non-Italians, tourists and especially LGBTQ+ people.
