The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was very nice. It is well located, right off magnificent mile. The chicago style pizza was amazing, filled with tons of cheese and ingredients. Our server told us each pizza can feed 5 to 6 people and he was right! We ordered the arugula salad which was crisp, refreshing and delicious, salad dressing was evenly distributed. The calamari was crunchy on the outside and tender inside. Also very good. Servie was very slow and spotty. I think it was because we wnet during peak holiday season(?). Because we were party of 6 the service at 20% was already included which we noticed ourselves so be careful not to double tip. I went for happy hour too and that was also nice, but the calamari serving during happy hour is half serving as indicated in their menu.
Thank you to Cristian, Jessica, and Trevor for a really lovely evening last night for their pizza making class! It was such a fun and beautifully executed event. We all had a great time with friends and great food including a git bag with delicious mini donuts that went great with my coffee this morning and a gift card for a future 12' pizza! I heard this was their first ticketed event and you definitely got your money's worth and more. Such a fun event!!
Very busy but spacious enough for our large party. Quick and courteous service. Pizza was great! Classic deep 9/10 Burrata & Basil Deep Dish 9/10 Russo Deep Dish 8/10 (a little wet in the bottom) Crispy Calamari 9/10 Zucchini fritti 8/10
Food was great! I'm not a big beef eater, I usually don't eat double burgers, but this one right here was delicious!!! The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy, moist, bun was soft, flavor was fresh really good, perfectly seasoned, the veggies were fresh. And the manager was a delight! Very positive friendly attitude.
Was visiting Chicago and was fortunate to discover Labriola. On our visit it was a busy Sunday night, but we were lucky enough to get an outside table with no wait. We started with the Toasted Ravoili appetizers which was an exciting combination of braised beef, cherry tomatoes and calabrina chili and I must say it was a delightful surprise. For our entrees we enjoyed Chicken Parmesan which was served with two generous portions of chicken breasts, spaghetti with freshly made marinara and topped with mozzarella. Having had this dish at several old school Italian restaurants I can say this was the best Chicken Parmesan I have had at any establishment. We also dined on the Spaghetti and Mama's Meatballs entree. This is a simple dish that I have enjoyed across the country. Their traditional take on this dish was authenticity wonderful with pasta, marinara and perfectly seasoned meatballs.
Loved this place, generous portions, very good service. Definitely want to come back here again! The waiter was fantastic, recommended the favorites and made this a wonderful experience. This is a gem of Chicago dining. Will come back in the future for sure.
I’ve been looking forward to trying Labriola’s pizza ever since I saw a sign it was the best in Chicago. We called at 6:15pm for 7:15pm first available reservation, but was also told if we arrived soon there may be a high top table, no reservation needed. We ended up getting a table pretty quickly, before our reservation time, when I just asked for the first available. Thank you to the efficient host for seating us! We started out with the Zucchini Fritte and it was so good, highly recommended! When the pizza came out, our server Rogelio showed us how to cut it to get all the delicious cheese on our slices 🍕he is a great server which added to our nice date night dining experience ❤️ I came with my boyfriend from Arizona and asked him of the three pizza’s we’ve had, what was his favorite and he said Labriola❣️
Took my wife out to eat after having watched Phantom of the Opera at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. We were in good spirits and hungry. We landed at Labriola during Happy Hour specials 3-6pm so took advantage of that while also ordering and enjoying the food we had intended on ordering regardless. We grabbed a 12" margharita pizza and a bottle of wine from the happy hour menu plus a goat cheese shareable plus I ordered the tagliatelle Bolagnese while the wife got the chicken parm. Everything was excellent, the staff was super attentive and they heard my wife say it was her birthday. Before I knew it they brought us desert but made it special with a flaming firework on top. I have a long history with Labriola bakery products long before the sale of the bakery and opening of the restaurant Our first experience at the restaurant was excellent and only ensures it wont be our last. We have many shows we will see this year and this may be our go to after each show. I was not aware that Labriola was also behind Stans Donuts which our daughter works at the Schererville location.
This pizza is very good. I’m biased toward Chicago style tavern pizzas..beggars etc., however the crust to topping ratio here is great. The sauce is just right as well. You can’t miss with this one. As far as the pasta, I’m a bit indifferent. The noodles were very al dente, but dare I say too al dente? The Alfredo is a simple dish, this one however just lacks for me a bit—not much flavor. But that’s ok, the pizza made up for it!
I can see why this restaurant was so highly recommended by locals when we were visiting. I'll start by saying that Chicago deep dish isn't generally my thing... That said, their deep dish was really good. It has a nice chewy edge, it's not super heavy, and the ingredients are clearly top notch... The Burrata and Basil was one of the best takes on Margherita Pizza I've ever had. Now, this may be blasphemy, but the true star here is the tavern style thin crust. The crisp, cornmeal dusted crust is PERFECT and again, the ingredients shine. This is 100% a must go if you're looking for great pizza in Chicago!
Oh man! The deep dish pizza was so good, I broke all my "don't eat leftovers" rules and finished it off the next day. We also had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. A unique spin on the dish and they were likely the best I've ever had. Atmosphere is a great vibe. I would love to come back here in the warmer months and eat outside. Can't wait to visit here again!
Wow, everything was so delicious! The drinks were fantastic, the deep dish pizza was so good. Sizzling shrimp were very good as well as the mozzarella sticks. Everything came out hot fresh and super fast!
No hesitation! This is best of the best Italian eatery in town! Fresh and delicious, good variety to choose from for everyone. And even classic local deep-dish pizza is transformed here for a tastier and healthier type. Service is beyond professional and quick. And outdoor seating feels like a perfect getaway on top of those loud big city streets.
Skinny Deep Dish “Danny’s Special”. This is easily the best pizza. All ingredients are fresh. Sauce is made in house, mushrooms and peppers freshly sliced. Sausage was very good. Staff was busy but attentive. Our server was Ramon and made sure everything was the best.
Came here twice on our trip! We dined in one night and did take out the other. The pizza is the best I’ve had! Who knew Chicago style would be so good! Definitely recommend the pizza with pepperoni and sausage!
1st timer to this restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. It was noisy but not to loud to carry a conversation. The server was friendly and helpful with menu options. Food was hot upon arrival. The flavors were great. Highly recommend the lemon chicken. The marina sauce was delicious. Pinot Grigio was a great addition to the meal.
Labriola was such a win. Highly recommend their salads, they were honestly our favorite part of the meal. We also ordered a thin crust pizza and loved it. Deep dish takes over an hour, so we skipped it this time, but the cookie skillet? An absolute must!!!
Our first deep-dish pizza in Chicago and we are very, very satisfied (and extremely full 😋). I knew coming to Chicago that there would be many choices if you're looking into deep-dish pizza. Labriola was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel in River North and what initially intrigued me was the focaccia-style dough and dark crust. Our waiter informed us that the deep-dish would take 30+ minutes, so knowing that do order right at the beginning or possibly ask if they can prepare ahead of time. He also mentioned we could split our single pizza into 2 halves to try different offerings. We ordered a 14-in split Burrata & Basil and Danny's Special between the 4 of us. The 8 slices (2 of each per person) along with 2 appetizers and some desserts were definitely enough for us being very hungry after a day traveling. Of the two we enjoyed the Burrata & Basil a bit more as it highlighted the flavor of the dough, crunch of the underside which was dark but not at all burnt tasting, and the blend of sauce and cheese/basil/burrata toppings (a bit like an elevated Margherita pizza). The Russo sausage on the Danny's special was great, though I think I'd recommend just ordering the pizza with sausage than also ordering it with the veggies. For apps we had the meatballs and kale salad. Only 2 normal-sized meatballs, but with toasted bread and polenta were good along with a cool lemon kale salad (and to save room for the pizza). Desserts were absolutely great, especially the Gelato. We had the cookie skillet, cannoli, and a pistachio Gelato. Each were great, the cannoli was more a layered dessert than traditional round but was a nice contrast to the large pistachio Gelato. For only $6 they were very generous with the scoop they gave us and honestly if you only wanted desserts totally worth it too. In all for a single 14-in deep-dish pizza, 2 apps, and 3 desserts we were just over $100 after tax before tip, so ~$25 a person which felt fairly reasonable to what we ordered. The two main caveats, only slight, were our wait for the desserts was a bit longer than anticipated for a Sunday ~20 minutes or so after finishing our pizza, and upon arrival we did not realize at first the restaurant is located on the upper level above Grand & Michigan. Luckily we found a large sign for the restaurant front of the staircase nearby. Thank you for a great meal 😋
Absolutely amazing!! I just looked up places nearby and went here because it looked good and I was so happy to know that the food tasted as good as it looked! I highly recommend this place if you want good authentic Italian. And they’re quick which is even better
Came here on a reccomendation from a friend and SO glad I did. Sat outside on a beautiful evening. The wait staff was attentive and enjoyed the fried zucchini and the pizza was To Die For. The melted cheese caramelized crust adds a flavor dynamic that's spectacular. Can't wait to eat here again.
Wow, what a phenomenal dinner experience mum and I both had visiting Chicago for the first time! The service was absolutely amazing and our server ozzie was so kind so polite and very helpful, our meals arrived in a very timely manner and we were looked after very regularly for refills and for dessert . I couldn’t recommend this place more 10/10 honestly it was such a great experience. The vodka pasta is to die for, it was my first time having it and gosh what was I missing out on! Thank you Ozzie for looking after us for my birthday 🫶🏼🥰
I am so surprised how good this place is. The pizza was fantastic and it was one of the best Cesar’s salads I’ve ever had w a nice piece of perfectly cooked grilled salmon. Really worth it
Our first meal getting into Chicago - and it was perfect. They handled our large group with ease and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Ryan was superb and made one of the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. My Waldorf was perfection, especially after a long day of travel.
Honestly, one of the best non-chain pizzas I’ve had. The Bruschetta & Basil pizza was perfectly seasoned with a perfect texture. Decadent, but not soggy. Crispy but not dry. Incredible. Service was great too, was always making sure to top off our waters. They do offer to serve you the pizza slices - let them! Making it look neat while you do it yourself is a lot harder than you think ;) My qualm is that the noise level is particularly high - this is by no means a calming ambience, and rather has the vibe of a busy diner with kids of all ages etc. - I wouldn’t recommend this for a romantic date night or anything of the sort. Nonetheless, the pizza knocked it out of the park, so this place gets full five stars from me! And as far as portion sizes, you can definitely get away with 3 people per pizza!
We had a blast here. The waiter was amazing and patient. We did not feel rushed while looking to order. The food was amazing and the drinks were good too. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and each one was delicious and a pizza for my youngest. Everything came out hot and looked and tasted amazing. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine.
Coming in from out of town, we heard great things about this place, and wow, were they right! As soon as we got to Chicago, we knew we had to try a deep-dish, and now we totally get why Chicagoans are so proud of their pizza. This was a five-star experience all around—the pizza was incredible, and the service was out of this world!
Food was really good. Wish we would have had the skinny deep dish. Had a good blueberry cider.
Highly recommend the food here the pizza, the pasta, and the atmosphere is spot on so far the best pizza we have eaten in Chicago. It’s down a narrow walkway and it’s a large restaurant that was definitely crowded but in a good way. Servers were excellent. The food was awesome and the atmosphere is what you think of when you eat in Chicago.
Amazing and beautiful restaurant with a lot of great options on menu. Sneyder and Gabriella were AWESOME and so sweet. Also very attentive. Chefs were very nice and their food is made with lots of love. The Strawberry Panna Cotta was beautiful and DELICIOUS.
Lives up to its reputation as the best in Chicago. We made our own Deep Dish Pizza selections. Incredible. Had a great salad too. Wait staff was awesome.
We went in a Friday night. Restaurant was packed! Service was quick and our server Victor was great! Food was out quickly and it was hot and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. We had an appetizer, salad, a pizza to share, and a dessert to go, all for under $80.
Labriola’s award-winning deep-dish pizza is fantastic, but that’s not the only reason this place deserves five stars—it’s everything else! The warm, family-friendly ambiance and incredible food make for an unforgettable dining experience. We started with the Stracciatella, and it was absolutely to die for. The combination of their fresh bread with tomato pesto and creamy stracciatella was so good that my wife and I immediately agreed we’d order two next time. But then…the skirt steak and fries arrived. Juicy, flavorful, and honestly better than some steaks we’ve had at steakhouses! Of course, we couldn’t pass up the Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza, which lived up to the hype. It was huge, so I was thrilled to have leftovers for lunch the next day. If you’re looking for incredible food beyond just great pizza, Labriola is a must-visit!
I've never been disappointed here! The staff are on top of it. The food is always on point. Very energetic atmosphere but also feels nice. I used to hear people say all this stuff about Ginos, Giordanos, and Pizanos and their pizza tastes aweful when compared to Labriola. Get the cupping pepperoni with hot honey and thank me later!
Left very impressed with this Italian restaurant. It looks traditional from the outside but it’s truly huge inside - we were seated in the rear section and couldn’t believe how the tables just kept going. Despite the scale, although a little slow to begin with, the service was friendly and efficient. The decor is cosy and authentic and it was nice to see a mix of locals as well as tourists. The menu was a good size with the traditional Italian dishes you would expect. The thin crust pizza was absolutely delicious and there was a good number of prawns in the pasta dish too. While the cheesecake was rather dense it rounded off the meal well and the espresso martini was spot on. With the really cosy decor and nice atmosphere I’d certainly recommend and it’s a great choice in the area for a proper Italian meal.
It was pretty late by the time we got in and the kitchen was closing in about 20 mins. And we weren’t particularly hungry so all good. It’s really nice restaurant with a buzzy atmosphere - perfect for a fun time with friends and not if you are looking for a quiet dinner. They play some pretty nice music too. The menu has a decent spread for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. And they have some nice vino collection. A pity all we could try was the minestrone soup and the roasted mashed potato. I think this place comes alive at night and probably the time I would pick to go here for some nice drinks and dinner. Maybe next time…,
This was my first deep dish experience, and I couldn't be happier. We got the 14" Russo sausage, and I'm glad the crust wasn't thicker (like I've been told is the case with other places). The sauce consistency and topping ratio was also perfect. You have to eat these slices with two hands though, make no mistake. They do $5 cocktails and $3 sliders during happy hour, both of which were fantastic. They also have a crazy donut/gelato shop inside. I never see prices or options like these where I'm from (🇨🇦). Atmosphere-wise, Labriola has lively yet semi-upscale decor, with a nice mosaic wall by the (very clean) washrooms, brass finishes on railings, nice hightops by the windows, multiple dining rooms, and an ornate bar. Finally, our servers were super friendly (and also hot, sorry). One of them even offered to serve the slices to us so I could get a cheese pull video. Everything was prompt and positive. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in Chicago.
This pizza might just be the best I’ve ever tasted! Every element is spot-on—the fresh mushrooms, crisp peppers, savory sausage, and house-made sauce all come together in perfect harmony. The crust? Pure magic. Our server Ramon was awesome, keeping an eye on us even in a busy restaurant and making sure every slice was enjoyed to the fullest. It’s the kind of pizza that makes you grin with every bite, and honestly, I can’t wait to come back and devour it all over again!
We had the deep-fried pizza and it was delicious. Highly recommended! The server jasmine was also very friendly and easy to chat with. Definitely go here if you love pizza, but if you order the deep-fried pizza, don't add anything extra, because it's a lot.
We were staying at the International and looking for a place to eat. Labriola was next door and Italian sounded good so we decided to check it out. The place as packed but with just two of us we were sat right away. The place was very loud but we were served right away. The food was excellent. We shared the stacciatella to start, which was kind of like an Italian charcuterie board. It was very good. I ordered the Richie's Lemon Chicken and my wife got a salad. The portions were huge and the lemon chicken was amazing. It was so moist and flavorful. I can't wait to go back and get it again.
We stumbled on this place and it was amazing. First of all you can’t miss the amazing aroma of Italian food. The food was great. I had the shrimp and it was fantastic. The ambience was great. The service was great. Definitely choose this option if you’re looking for some great Italian food in Chicago.
All in all, this is a pretty darn good classic Chicago Italian restaurant. We have a day off to explore Chicago and we wanted a quintessential Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and Labriola delivers, taste wise. The Danny Special with its Sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green pepper is its take on the supreme pizza on deep dish and it has a nice balance of the fluffy full body deep dish with a nice crispiness over the top. Of the crust. It's fulfilling, that's for sure. The fillet slider is not too bad, but is largely forgettable. I think it can use a bit more flavor with the fillet itself, if anything. A bit more seasoning could help. The garlic knot is surprising because the dough is pretty darn flaky, not doughy. I thought it'd be more like a pretzel or sourdough variety, so it was interesting. It can use a bit more kick on the garlic, however. Overall, the service, decor and ambience are great.
I’ve been to this location before and the food was pretty good. I came back to get the meatball appetizer that comes with polenta. The meatballs seemed really dry and overcooked. The polenta was still really good but a little plain. The Caesar salad was delicious! The homemade croutons were amazing. Overall service was ok. The bussers and food runners weren’t very friendly but my server was pretty attentive for the most part. Overall I would recommend coming here but maybe come during lunch or early dinner. I dined solo around 7:45/8pm and it seemed like the employees were ready to leave even tho they close at 9pm.
A lively establishment with excellent food and great service. We were impressed that even on a busy Saturday night, we were seated in just 20 minutes without a reservation. A huge plus: they happily split full orders for us so we could easily share. A special shout-out to our server Ramon and the fantastic host and bussing staff.
Restaurant located in a balcony with typical foods from Chicago, including the deep dish pizza and the cookie skillet. We ordered a 14' deep dish pizza for 4 people, which was more than enough for us. The cookie and the pizza were amazing. The orange juice is also very good and natural. The diet Pepsi was just terrible. The service is somewhat slow. The pizza takes 40 minutes (not a complaint, just a statement they make when you arrive).
Labriola is hands-down one of my favorite deep-dish spots in Chicago! The pizza is perfectly sized, the crust has the ideal texture, and the flavors are on point. Went for a double meat topping this time—so good! The vibe is lively, with options to sit indoor, at the bar or on the patio. Servers are fast, and the semi-open kitchen lets you watch the pizzas bake. Don’t sleep on the garlic knots and house salad—they’re just as delicious as the pizza.
Food was great! Loved the pizza and we had zucchini for app. Service was ok. Server no doubt nice but despite our reservation, others walked in after us and were served sooner… had to ask for server to get one. I imagine they are short staffed like everyone else.
Deep dish was good but outer crust was overcooked to the point it left a burnt taste in your mouth if ate. Had one if the best spritz I've ever had. Be careful they definitely pack a punch.
A great Italian restaurant in River North ave just off of Michigan avenue. This restaurant looks small from the outside but it is quite large. The grilled Calamari is pretty good however the fettucine alfredo was very lack luster. The chicken is boiled and there is overall no flavor to the sauce. The pasta was cooked al dente. I will return to try more of their food pretty soon. The service was nice and attentive even though they forgot to bring out bread. They were however very accommodating to some of our requests. I will def try some of their pan pizza soon which looks amazing.
The pizza is very good, but if you find yourself ordering limoncello, mind that it is just a big mistake. Worst limoncello ever had; it is like 40% and does not taste like limoncello. In addition, mind that a 3% service fee is randomly added to the check.
Food is good but pricy, the atmosphere is chill and fancy, the drink selection is vast but it's really only alcohol. The goat cheese was good, savory and a delight. The amount of goat cheese is lamentable however. I would expect $13 to give me more than a slab of cheese. It's mainly tomato, with a bit of goat cheese on top, but still delicious. As I said above, for the drinks they only appear to serve alcoholic drinks, and I was just taking my lunch break from work so I didn't have any. They have water though. I also had the Minestrone soup which was warming and just what I needed on a cold Chicago day but small. The chicken parm sandwich was just what the name implies. The presentation of the food was disappointing. For some reason they serve lunch on trays but the other food, such as the goat cheese in nice single plates. Overall, tasty food, great atmosphere, slightly overpriced, but it's Chicago I guess.
