The food was good but a little on the pricey side. We ordered the "tower" for two. We had literally two onion rings, two chicken wings, two small sliders, two beef roll things, pitas and spinach dip, and two dry mini cupcakes, for $35. We were still hungry when we left, but the atmosphere was what brought us in and it did not disappoint. It was the last day of the Nightmare Before Christmas theme while we were there. We will be back in the future to check out more events!

The cute Halloween decorations are cute!!!! What a great fall vibe! Love it! I was in a wheelchair, it’s not very wheelchair friendly… the tables are high and so is the bar but I was able to enjoy a cocktail with my group at the bar, I just needed a place to sit my drink 😁 would definitely come back

Had an amazing time. Great service and food was ok...disappointed with sliders as you only get 2 sliders nothing else...but everything else was great. The atmosphere and setting was nothing but phenomenal. Enjoyed our time. Great photo ops. Really had a great time. The Nightmare Before Christmas theme looked so good and I was impressed. Thank you for doing what you do. It was impressive!

I had such an amazing experience at Treehouse! The event was based on The Dead Skeleton Jack and it was beyond creative. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the character herself—dressed up in full costume, interacting with guests, and even taking pictures. It felt like stepping straight into the movie! The attention to detail was incredible. Every decoration was handcrafted specifically for this event, making it feel completely unique and immersive. Ordering food was just as fun because the atmosphere made the whole experience unforgettable. I also learned they have more events coming up, and I can’t wait to attend again! If you love themed experiences, creativity, and immersive vibes, Treehouse is an absolute must-visit.

This was such a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit in River North! Amazing deco and vibes (though the music is quite loud so not the most family friendly) and the food is not bad. Looking forward to their Christmas pop-up too.

What went well?! Everything! This spot continuously changes it’s themes but Wonderland has to be one of the best by far. The decor throughout makes it so fun. The staff were friendly and made great food and drink recommendations. I took so many pictures! Lbs! The chicken was delicious, the sliders were so good and I even enjoyed the pizza! What I thought was so nice (even though I don’t watch the show lol) they played Love Island on the big screen and you knew it was on because 80% of the customers eyes were glued to the TVs! It was cute 😂 Definitely a spot to try before the summer ends.

We had a blast at the Nightmare Before Christmas popup. My daughter is a Halloween Baby so this was perfect theme. Loved the service, food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

We went for the Alice in Wonderland pop-up and it was so much fun! The food was good and the drinks were delicious. Our server, Sabrina, was super sweet and very attentive. **Just know off the bat there is a 3% service charge, 8% for sales tax and 20% gratuity. So a total of 31% over what the menu price says.

Oh my goodness I need the Emerald City pop up to be an actual restaurant that is around all the time! This was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. And it was so wonderful because it was a huge surprise that my partner sprung on me! I fear telling my friends about it because apparently no one knew about this and are now too late to experience this. Boys Town I'm telling you now if you want a bar that is going to make all the money make an Emerald City Bar that plays nothing but all of The Wizard of Oz and Wicked. And they also remixed the songs. I need this in my life always! I didn't get to try the amazingly themed food but all the cocktails were on point and strong. You definitely get a bang for your buck! Although I'm sorry you can't ask you anything now

We went for the themed Nightmare before Christmas happy hour and it was really cute. They were busy, service was a bit slow but the ambience, music and drinks made up for it. It was date night and we really enjoyed it.

Absolutely amazing. I celebrated my 46th, yes 46th birthday here and I couldn't have been more enchanted. I literally cried that I was able to experience what I've loved since a little girl! Thank you for an amazing dinner, phenomenal decor and successful staff ❤️ this girl will be coming back!!!!

I went during their Santa pop up on the Monday before Christmas around 5pm and everything was almost perfect. All the angry reviews seem to be from people who went at busy times when any bar within a 10 mile radius of the loop would be crowded and overwhelmed, so i give some grace here. Food was good and came in cute little packages. Originally I received the wrong sandwich, I pointed it out to the waitress, and she got it fixed right away. All the staff was really, really nice. The decor was adorable, and the bartender in the back area got me excited to see other themes coming in 2025! Definitely recommended, just know if you don't like crowds or want to be able to sit for a while, go on a non busy time and you'll be fine!

It was an amazing atmosphere, the theme was on point. The food was well made and plentiful. Be aware that if you are a vegetarian or have a restricted diet, eating here may pose as a challenge. I do not recommend the salad, but it was super fresh. Everything else was amazing!

If you find yourself in Chicago and want a night out that actually delivers, The Tree House Chicago is where the magic happens. ✨ This place isn’t just a bar... it’s an experience. The theme changes regularly, (it was Nightmare Before Christmas when we visited) so every visit feels like stepping into a brand-new party universe. Downstairs, you’ve got not one but two massive bars buzzing with energy, and massive screen TVs all around, while upstairs turns into a full-blown dance floor paradise surrounded by even more bars. The food? Next-level for bar food. Add in a crowd that’s electric and a vibe that’s pure high-voltage fun, and you’ve got yourself one of the hottest spots in the city. Pro tip: Come ready to dance, laugh, and stay way longer than you planned. The Tree House Chicago doesn’t just raise the bar—it is THE bar.

This bar is so fun! They had a DJ, really tasty holiday drinks, and the holiday decorations were magical. It was like walking into a girly winter wonderland. I highly recommend taking cute pictures here. It is a joy to visit this place with a group of friends. You’ll make great memories here. They really go all out for the holidays. Their staff does an incredible job with planning, organizing, and decorating. Shoutout to all their employees for making this bar so spectacular!

We had a ball here. The drinks, food and the service were all great. We went for brunch as soon as they opened so there wasn't a large crowd.

Tree House Chicago absolutely nailed the Halloween vibe this year! 🎃 The place was transformed into a fun, spooky, and lively space — the decorations were creative, the lighting set the perfect mood, and the energy was fantastic all night. The staff went all out with their costumes and really added to the festive atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly even though it was packed, and the drinks were on point — creative, well-made, and perfect for the occasion. The music and crowd kept the place buzzing till late, and it felt like one big celebration. If you’re looking for a spot that knows how to mix great food, good vibes, and a bit of Halloween magic, Tree House Chicago is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back next year! 👻🎉

What GREAT service! My boyfriend and I went in yesterday to check out the wicked pop-up and sat at the bar. Our bartender, Dez, was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions for drinks! She made us feel welcome and was very attentive to us! Will definitely be going back!

Treehouse is an absolute must-visit during the holidays! From the moment we walked in, the Christmas pop-up atmosphere was magical—festive, cozy, and so much fun. Dougie, the owner, treated us incredibly well and made the entire experience feel welcoming and personal. You can really tell how much care goes into this place. The drinks were delicious—creative, perfectly balanced, and very on-theme for the season. The food was just as impressive and complemented everything perfectly. We enjoyed every single bite and sip. This is one of those places you leave already planning your next visit, and we will absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a festive spot with amazing food, fantastic drinks, and top-tier hospitality, Treehouse is it! 🎄🍹

It was honestly the roughest night after my night completely went to shit, and I just needed to get out and clear my head. It was also my first time ever going to a bar alone, which felt a little intimidating, but sitting at the bar at Tree House ended up being the best decision because of Jared. He is truly the biggest sweetheart. From the second I sat down he was so kind and welcoming without it feeling forced or fake. He could tell I was not in the best mood and somehow completely shifted my energy just by being genuinely attentive and easy to talk to. It never felt like he was just doing his job. He actually cared. My drinks were amazing and he checked in at the perfect times. He has that rare balance of being fun and personable while still completely on top of everything behind the bar. I walked in overwhelmed and left smiling. If you go to Tree House, sit at the bar and ask for Jared. He made my first solo bar experience such a positive one and truly turned my whole night around. I am so grateful.

If you want a place with great pop up ideas, look no further. This place is amazing, ask for Cass as your bartender…she gave me and my girlfriend amazing recommendations and made our drinks great. The carne asada flatbread is the best on the menu, definitely recommend! I can’t wait to come back!

Had the best time at Trees on my first visit! Dez (I believe that was my bartender’s name) took amazing care of me. The food was awesome, the service was top-notch, and the overall vibe was great. I’ll definitely be bringing my friends back.

Came here on Super Bowl Sunday (aka Benito Bowl!) and had the best time. Despite how busy it was, everyone was extremely friendly. Our waitress Stephanie was great. She was attentive and made sure we were good the whole time. We also interacted with Vanessa, who was super welcoming and genuinely made the experience even better. Good bar food and great drinks! Overall, highly recommend.

We had a blast checking out the Halloween Town themed event. Great service and fun decor. The drinks and food were ok, just very standard bar food. The jello shots were good.

Went this location for this cool fun Halloween 🎃 experience, and we choose the later time in the day to stop by and as soon as we got there we were told no food and kitchen closing and last call for drinks and was kind of told in a rude way. Furthermore, we only had one drink and took pictures 📸 and left no really much of a Halloween experience 😠.

Sooo much fun for Halloween. Be sure to have reservations especially on weekends. We went during HalloweenTown and there’s a happy hour at 9-11pm! Costumes made everything so much more fun! Fun and decor was lit! Drinks were cuuuute & food was delicious!

Heard about the Halloween town pop up and wanted to go. Reservations online was free and ensured you got a table in your time slot. We waited a bit before getting seated and even more to get the menu/get our order taken/get the check. It wasn't super crowded but it seems like there was too little waitresses for the tables :( The food was ok, it's bar food lol The wings, cupcakes and popcorn where better than the burgers and onion rings. Alcoholic drinks averaged $16 and the non alcoholic drinks for $8. Automatic 17% gratuity is added, so keep in mind. Cute decore for photo ops but it's definitely off to the side of the tables. Music was very...intresting(not very bar type music rather a teenage millennials top hits on shuffle plus the "this is Halloween" playing 1 time every hour and a half .

The atmosphere was great. Drinks were delicious. The food was okay. Mostly went for the Nightmare Before Christmas theme. Definitely would recommend for that alone.

Didn't get any food but had adult beverages. Very expensive but they were good. Plenty of stalls on the bathroom-unique in these bars downtown! Very cool atmosphere. Alice in Wonderland themed. Granddaughter loved loved it. Saw an adult group celebrating a birthday. They were having a ball. The picture opportunities were fantastic! Very cool place to visit.

Only marked it down a bit because it was so alarmingly loud we could not hear each other. Food was good. We got the Haunted Tower which was enough to feed two of us.

Tree House Chicago Never tried the food. Came in because I won free tickets to this place. The images were interesting and we were in Chicago also. The hardest part was finding parking. Parked at a building... Was charged $30. OMG. Anyways, came in and looked around. Nice. Great decor. Fantastic lights and props. Great illusion effects. Great job on the theme! Highly Recommended

Went here the Monday after Valentine’s Day. Wasn’t crowded at all! Came for the valentines decor which was amazing! If you like such for insta you’ll love the Cupid love lounge with all the different setups you can take cool photos on! On the downside, the food was very subpar, just a simple heart pizza, fries and drinks! Nothing to write home about! Went home and ate again! It’s a very small limited menu! But nobody’s coming here for the food, just the cool ambiance and insta worthy photos! I’d come again for their next themed decors but probably eat elsewhere first!

Lovely decorations but they should give more clarity about the event online. Parking is free after 10pm but the food stops at 10pm but its not 21+ til after 8pm and they did last call for drinks at 10:30 yet it doesn’t close until 12am. Very disappointing so I would say its to go between 5-9pm for day time fun with friends / family / kids seems more about photos and experience than food/drink. Also the bartenders became rude after hours so they may be tired of the event all together. I was hoping for a festive bar restaurant.

A
Angela Hereford

Because it was holiday themed the decorations and experience was very cute. Food and drinks were a bit pricey but ok...I would have like to see more food options for the menu. Music was definitely a vibe while the decor was picture worthy good place for group outings

S

I went during the Halloweentown decorations (not event). The food was mediocre and the drinks were REALLY weak. Some came from pre-packaged mixes, I know because the server told me. This place isn’t worth coming too unless you want to take a few pictures, then hang out somewhere else afterwards. All flash, no substance.

S
Shiance Barnes

Went for the first and last time! If you are only looking for ambience this place is for you. The service was horrible. The waitress allowed the KITCHEN to tell us we had to repurchase fries SHE MESSED UP which we had to call the manager for. I waited 15MINUTES for my food after my friends and we ordered at the same time. The menu has no good options. NOT WORTH IT!

F
Fred Johnson

The good- they did a great job with the decor. As you can see from the pictures, they were fun and bright. The bad- EVERYTHING else. 1). I’ve never been to a restaurant where the “chef” would only prepare eggs sunny side up or scrambled. When we asked for over medium - we were told it was not an option. 2). We came a brunch and were disappointed when we were told much of the menu was not an option until after 2 pm. We had less than 1/2 the menu to choose from. 3). We ordered our food at 1215 - an egg dish and chicken and waffles. As you can see from some of the pictures, the place was NOT busy. We were told 10-15 minutes for our food. We ordered OJ and it literally warm. After 25 minutes our server updated us that it would be another 5-10 minutes and our food would be there. I would love to show you a picture of our food- but when we hit 1pm and still didn’t have our food - we canceled the food order - paid for our OJ (including the auto add gratuity of 20%) and walked down the street for a much better experience. 4). IDK if it was a brunch time thing or not, but the staff was less then energetic- most of the time they sat at end of the bar as a group.

C
Chelsey Rogers

I’ve never wrote a review before, but I came last night for our schools winter party , and drink prices were so expensive… $25 for a vodka redbull… also the white male bartender was definitely drunk , it was honestly an inconvenience. I understand it was packed and busy but he should be faster. Upstairs was way better.
