Service in Chico was better during our visit. Meals tend to be equally tasty at these three. There has been children present in the past. Just not during this visit. Food restrictions or vegetarian: usually accommodating (Look at menu on line..call ahead) (We had steak, potatoes, onion rings) Would we return? Yes! Would we recommend to our friends? Yes! Location is perfect! Plenty of places to shop close --- over night accommodations near.

Not only was the food hot, fresh, and fast but all of the staff was very warm and welcoming. I unfortunately took a spill outside and came in with bleeding shins and the manager Paula went above and beyond to try and help and care for me. Checking on me multiple times depsite a full and busy restaurant meant so much to me. Wonderful experience all around. Someone give Paula a raise!

Fresh food at a fast pace for an affordable price. One of my favorite steaks and shakes places in town. Plenty of munchies. An excellent selection for even the pickiest or sophisticated diners. My Husband and I had Dinner and Desert here and we absolutely enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our requests. The Applebee's Grill in Chico has been one of my favorite places for some time, I stop every time I'm in town. Today was no exception, I had a Rounders Skididdlehopper that needed to be dropped off to Judge Briggers at the Circle Cube Ranch and it also needed to be set up in the area of the last Chromiticyle incident in the upper pasture, because it boarders the Krispie K Ranch on two sides! Old Kasper Kockweller at the Krispie K knows about the Chromiticyle and moved his bison herd into Rankskeller's feed lot. All this made me hungry, and since it was dinner time, I headed straight to the Applebee's Grill! It's always a treat to walk into a familiar place filled with friendly people, and the food is always amazing. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

We had an amazing experience with our server Ray she was so sweet, and so attentive!! Our food was absolutely delicious and she even shared recommendations. She had an amazing personality and just a GREAT VIBE!! She even shared with us she was very new to serving, we never would have guessed she was just such a natural, not to mention so beautiful!! Great deals for sure! Its been years since I've got because of repeated bad experiences... Tonight was completely different! The 25 cent wings were cooked perfectly and the $1 drinks were amazing! Got out of there for two people at less than $12!

We had a great meal and the service was stupendous. Our waitress had a smile every time she came by the table, even when my salad seemed to have more cheese than lettuce. I can't eat cheese so I was a bit surprised to see cheese spread all over my salad. However, our waitress more than made up for it by bringing me a wonderful salad without cheese and still smiling. She even remembered our granddaughters sunday after she finished her meal. We didn't even have to remind her. I'll be back and I do recommend this restaurant.

Okay it’s an Applebee’s so my expectations were moderate. I had looked at the menu online so I could opt for light options as I wasn’t super hungry but meeting others for dinner. My companion and I chose the $36 special for two. I took the salmon and he took the chicken. The other two took the same special with one also trying the chicken and one the steak. For our appetizer we chose caesar salad with dressing on the side. They chose the onion rings. First off the salmon and chicken were delicious and we left feeling like we scored eating healthy meals! Our dining companions let us sample the onion rings and they were AWESOME! Truly some of the best because they were hot and crisp! We held ourselves to one as they are caloric as heck! All food except the steak was delicious. The steak was sent back and a better one received in about 10 minutes and it was good! Good service. Good margaritas and quiet for a Friday post happy hour! No photos as the food looks like it does on the menu.

I found the Chicken Salad to be competitive to Farmer's Skillet, just closer to my current living space. I don't sit-in restaurants any more, due to an anti-gluten diet and obvious costs. An overwhelming craving for chicken breast was strong - a nutritional need, for white meat. The price of the meal $15.00 was exactly the same as well to my relief and delight.

This place has a fun atmosphere and it usually has fun inexpensive alcoholic beverages. Our food was good, and although this has nothing to do with my rating of the restaurant, people should really think about how everyone can hear them and carefully consider what is appropriate "dining talk." We sat near 4 young college girls who did nothing but trash talk their significant others to each other. It was annoying, inconsiderate, and really inappropriate in more ways than one. Hope they grow up sooner rather than later. Or hope their significant others dump their bratty butts.

I have been a fan of Applebee's for quite a few years. I've been to several in different states and they have yet to disappoint me. The variety of delicious foods that some can be combined for 2 people in which you order separate entrees and share an appetizer & dessert, which you usually do anyway. But Applebee's is kind enough to put in a package and save you a little money. I highly recommend, because I order them on nearly every visit, The Win Ton Tacos. Light & crispy mini tacos(they actually seem larger than the last time I ordered them) full of flavorful ingredients with an Asian flare. Entrees including their huge burgers all are so tasty, you will be pleased with whatever you choose. Very nice drinks to go with your food items. Applebee's, for great food and fun.

As usual there are far too many choices that I'll probably never try but I can't complain about any of the apps, which I usually get. Overall Applebee's is really good food for fair prices. Why go to fast food and pay $25 for middling portions of mediocre food when you can get stuff like cheese sticks, quesadillas, and boneless wings on top of good steaks? I will say the steaks could use more seasoning though. Still, overall? Great value, great service, and you can get some good drinks while you're there. Can't do that at fast food!

First time going to an Applebee’s and I was very impressed. Great service, accommodating waiter, food delivered fast, and delicious flavors! I ordered the bourbon street 8oz choice steak. It was definitely on the lower end of choice but it was properly cooked, the flavor was amazing, and it was sizzling hot. I wouldn’t have used A1 on this steak. My wife also greatly enjoyed her food and loved the bread stick. The reason for the 4 stars is that the potato’s on my plate where cold, I just spread them out over the hot plate and they warmed up ok. Also I highly recommend their onion rings they are TOP!

Would give it 4 stars but unfortunately the owner wants to charge 2% to use a card, that tells me they are too lazy to look for a better card processing company. Always a cheerful atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long for a table. There were several different servers who brought our food out and that was a bit confusing. I went here with a group for a graduation celebration dinner. I thought the food was good, especially the cheese bites appetizer, or whatever it was. That was DELICIOUS! I also got the whiskey burger, but I personally didn't care for it much. I also had others in my party very much enjoy getting smoothies. I tasted a strawberry banana one, and despite it being too sweet for my taste, she loved it. I did think it was good, though. It just wouldn't be something I would order because of how sweet it was.

Today we ate at the Applebees in Chico. I gave 3 stars because our Waitress was really good to us, she even brought Cherries on the side for my daughter’s drink. But the server who brought us our food still has me livid. After thanking her I went to ask for the side of ranch I ordered, apparently I did not speak fast enough and she really motioned with her hands for me to hurry up and speak with an eye roll. I was dumbfounded. We paid over 60.00 for appetizers and to be totally disrespected. My husband had no idea that the lady that rudely brought us our food and treated me as I was a waste of her time, was not our server. If I was not there our poor waitress would have not got a tip. To the other server who brought us our food, if my daughter was not there you would have been mortified. I would have given twice the attitude and made sure everyone in our section knew that you were belittling your customers and if it weren’t for us you would not have a job. I have worked in customer service my whole life and the easiest part of my job is being nice. You took a nice outing with my family and ruined it because now any time I think of Applebees, I will remember being treated like a child by a Waitress!! Applebees everything is so expensive, I will be spending my money where I am treated with common courtesy.

Applebee's in Redding California is excellent. This one varies on who's serving you. Or cooking. I've had great experiences before but the chico one. Last visit, May, 2025, wasn't the greatest the previous. Please have consistent with making their waiter's smile and show up with a beer within a minute versus 10-15 minutes and I had to ask twice! Usually everything is excellent

Special drink didn't have much alcohol in it. It tasted more like the fruit flavor and ice only. The waitress was rude when we asked to have the drinks take back and make a new one.

If the rating was based on service I would have given 4 stars, but the food was lacking. The chicken dish my husband had was covered way to much oil. The flavor of which tasted like old grease. If it wasn't for the bath of bad tasting oil the dish may have been good. Alas we will never know. But don't let one bad experience keep you from trying what is a grease filled bar menu. They do have one dish that is light, the oriental chicken salad. Ask for grilled instead of breaded and fried for a healthier alternative.

While it's nice to be able to eat in, 3 of the 4 of us got sick. I hope it's just food related, but I am going to get checked regardless. The server was nice, and attentive, and the portions were plenty but I didn't really care for most of the food. I did eat the chicken, but the sides were less than stellar.

The food was decent but the service leaves much room for improvement. Not for a lack of want, the staff is just severely understaffed. 3 servers and a host for Father's Day 2019 seems a bit low. After ordering, all our plates came except the one for the "dad" we were there to celebrate. We let our server know and after 30 minutes of waiting, the manager came over and asked if we wanted him to go into the kitchen to cook the food. We couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or if he was genuinely going to cook the missing food but needless to say that didn't seem the proper attitude to get a group of 12 to do repeat business. We won't and i highly encourage you do find a more welcoming atmosphere.

I used to go to our Chico AppleBees a lot. I went yesterday and was SO disappointed! It was filthy! Our waitress was ok, but never smiled. Food was not good and looked like it was only dropped onto a white plate. No garnish nothing. My rice tasted old and dry and reheated. I won’t be back. Just look at the table and blinds on the window!

Service was good. We each had a chicken salad. They would have been great, but it was obvious they used bagged salad and bagged cheese. I even had an entire lettuce core and stump in my salad. Yuck.

Disappointing. They we’re out of the dressing of the salad I ordered. It was replaced with a different dressing, but I was never informed until It showed up at my table. Had I known they didn’t have that dressing, I would’ve changed my order. My mother ordered hot tea, and they gave her mint tea which she doesn’t like. She wasn’t asked what type she like. No one cleared our table.

If you go here be prepared to have to fight to get your food. I was left to watch the rest of my party eat their salads while I sat with no food. Eventually I just left and ran some errands. I returned to find my meal sitting on the table, wrong according to how I requested it, dressing on the side was requested, and my meal had broccoli while the other party got green beans, and neither of us was given a choice. Two managers on duty, and I reported their house was falling apart. Upon arrival the AC was out and they sat us on the sunny side of the building. Just a very disappointing visit with no responsibility for their errors and bad service.

Lackluster and disappointing. I don't expect fine dining from the big chain restaurants and I usually set the bar low, but the only positive from my visit was our server who was attentive and cheerful. The food was bland and after tax and tip left us feeling like we'd over paid, and we had a gift card to start with.

1 star is a little to high for this restaurant! We went on for lunch, literally were the first ones in the door as they opened. The floors were disgusting! They had not been vacuumed from the night before, the wood steps were grimy with more than just a day's worth a dirt, the booth that we sat in was filthy and to top it off, I ended up with an ant on me while eating. Can only assume it came from all the crumbs in the booth cushions. With all this, makes me wonder how bad the kitchen is. Service was slow and poor. Never refilled drinks. Won't be going back again!

Called talked to the manager who said he has no idea how that happened he was standing right there the whole time. Wasnt going to leave a bad review till the manager had an attitude. Just simply called to say hey the food was messed up didnt want anything in return and got attitude.

The worst place in Chico. First of all I am a local and usually eat local. I am staying across the street because of house renovations. Omg, 😯 I have diarrhea from the food and I paid 55.00! for there famous Asia chicken salad, corn dog fries, pizza that looked like it was freaking microwaved and milk shake. Mind you the two other items were from the "kids" menu. O and they charge you 2% to use your credit. Calling it a convenience tax!! Never again and I highly suggest you don't.

First, let me clarify something to those who wait tables, just because a customer orders water for their drink doesn't mean they will not be a good tipper. If I am treated like I won't tip much, guess what, I won't. From the moment we ordered waters our waitress was ready to be dismissive and quick to leave. Second, we ordered burgers thinking Applebee's will likely be good at making a burger. Unfortunately we didn't know their burgers come without sauce and we were never asked or offered sauce for our burgers. After trying to locate our waitress for several minutes we asked the hostess if we could get our server. Our waitress finally came so we asked about sauce and she said she would bring some, however, she went to take another order which took several more minutes. Meanwhile our burgers were cold. I still attempted to eat mine, but it was very pink inside and I ordered well done. So at this point my husband asks the hostess for the manager (we normally do not do this). After speaking with the manager we were left feeling a bit dissatisfied by his general attitude of "Here at Applebee's we never put sauce on our burgers." Well mister manager, usually customers are informed this and offered sauce. He did give us 25% off of our meal, but really we only wanted to let him know that it's poor customer service and we chose not to tip. Third, I enjoy drinking water and many other people do also.

Had to wait in line to be seated while several employees just walked around and didn't acknowledge us. Once the manager finally noticed us she was non apologetic for the wait. She sat us down the table was wasn't even cleaned off yet. I usually don't complain but it was so bad we got up and left. Not sure if you were short handed but even if so there was zero empathy for not only myself but other customers that were waiting.

Well it was a Friday night and we were literally the only people on our side our server we barely saw we had to ask other people for straw and then lemons he didn’t care about us or the service he provided us. Using the words cool after asking if we needed anything. No wonder it’s dead on a Friday. Word of mouth does travel fast. Won’t be coming back at least not sitting in his area.

The menu says they have gluten free items and they didn't have any gluten free items

they have gluten friendly items on the menu but they do no serve them even after my wife ordered them

Honestly, I've had worse. But this came in a solid second place. My bf got ribs that were literally cooked to nothing. I got the bourbon steak. The wine and tea were the best part of the meal. The waitress tried pocketing our change. Very not great experience. The side order of Cole slaw was literally a tablespoons worth and that's being generous. Ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. Chips were leftover from someone else's plate. Super old oil taste. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT RETURN OR RECOMMEND.

Food was mid, spent half an hour waiting for our food, then another half hour to get the bill. Not eating here again.

Great tasting burgers, cannot complain there. However, ordered pick up twice and both times the host at the front had to make snappy and rude comments. Did not appreciate the experience when I only had to be there for 2 minutes. Despite the fact that its Christmas eve. Hopefully she isnt affecting every customers mood like that :(

Pretty terrible. Apps and salad always come at the same time as the meal..so you either have cold entree or cold app or saggy salad. Been here three times since they opened and it has happened every time. Today the Chicken was dry. Riblets were fatty and gross. Salad didn't have enough dressing. Service was good. I believe whoever is the kitchen manager should lose their job but hey I don't run the place. I won't be returning.

IHOP ruined this Applebee's. Half the things advertised in commercials aren't available. Service is next to non-existent. Rude servers. Food a mess. Was customer for ten years. Done with them for good now. Also, charged for extra sauce and extra pickles. Never been charged for extra pickles in my life.

Table of five adults over the age of 25 took our drink orders just to refuse later because we look young? Server was high on something and they have a bad attitude will not return. They were in the process of making our orders then declined to serve us after waiting 10 minutes because one ID was cracked… The hostess had no problems giving us all the drink menu. The person with the cracked ID said they will drink later when we go out for my birthday but server was rude and said nobody can order now she was high anyway don’t want her touching our food

So after I looked over the menu and then went to the restaurant, they didn't have the same online as they did in store. I saw that they had the Christmas specialty drinks that were red and green, they did end of making them but they first said not at this restaurant. Second, I came for the Ultimate Trio, which again they didn't have. It's really confusing when you have one restaurant but they don't all function the same. That's bad business. Just finished the meal and in order to take any sauces on the go you get a whole new to go box. Left me speechless.
