I love eating seafood and I have tried many Cajun restaurants, but this is the best one! The service is excellent and the atmosphere Is cozy. I definitely will come back again.
Food was delicious..!! M in love with big hot crab.. it was really hot food. I will definitely go back there again. We tried shrimp ,mussels , clams. garlic butter sauce was better than Lemmon pepper
This was our 1st visit to Big Hot Crab, and I have to say, the food and the service was fantastic! The servers were extremely nice. We definitely will be back.
Amazing place if you love garlic and seafood. Be aware that even their most mild Cajun seasoning still has some heat, as it should. Worth every penny for a fun, delicious meal. House style hot is my favorite shrimp.
This has become one of my favorite spots in town, their house sauce is AMAZING and the best part is that you get to go feral on some delicious shellfish and make as much of a mess as you want all over the parchment paper covered table. DO NOT dress in your nicest clothes for this!! Highly reccommend getting the Dungeness crab clusters, mussels, and corn on the cob
So I've seen this restaurant around for years. I never knew exactly what it was for, and some friends had dinner here and really recommended it. We get there for a date night, and the people are friendly. The food is so freaking delicious and their bread. Idk how to explain the explosion of seafood flavors. This is definitely worth the money and a repeat visit!
Remember going here on Mother’s Day lunch with my family, and had a great time. Recently went out with a friend to grab some lunch and this restaurant was our first choice! Love their food, and their house cajun sauce is amazing! Definitely would recommend adding a cup of rice or bread to complement the dish. This place can be a bit expensive for few, but their service is alright.
Flavors and choices of heat is critical for a picky family. Fun place to dig in and work for you tasty bites. Get a crusty bolillo to soak up the garlic and spices. Yumm
A fun place to eat!! You can order custom seafood from muscles to crab. We ordered half lb of crab, muscles, clams with bread to dip in the special house sauce. The waitress was the only one cleaning tables, they need another waitress. Besides that the service could be better, the food was good.
I actually don't eat seafood, but my kid does and he absolutely loved it. Would have licked the juice off the table too if we let him. The experience is exactly what he was looking for, eating off the table. The size is my photos include 1/2 lb of King Crab (most of the weight is in the shell), 1/2 lb of shrimp (about 6 or so), I corn on the cob (small and from frozen) and 1/4 lb of sausage, with non-spicy garlic butter sauce. And you know what, it is expensive. All that $70, no including tip 😮
Here’s my honest review. Host she was cute and nice. No complaints. 1lbs king crab legs..ehh shell was soft, meat was mushy. I eat cause it cost $89 bucks. 1lbs mussels for my liking undercooked, not all opened. Only had sand or crunch in one. Corn soft and mushy. No crunch like corn normally has. Some might prefer but I don’t. 2.99 for half a corn was bs though. Potato’s cooked was okay, Those I prefer to melt in your mouth. Drink specially soda, I know ew..bad for you don’t need it… 2.99 for 1 20oz (i think) filled to the brim with ice then topped with your drink choice.. so like 10ish oz of drink, then no free refills. I thought we got out of 80s. Gotta pay for 2 freakin drinks for one person. Lame….
The service was great and the atmosphere was cute. I think the food was sub par and the prices were outrageous. The small lobster tail alone was 19.99. No sides, just the tail. With the corn cob and tea it was about $32 after tax. For that price at the Outback you get 2 big tails, 2 sides, bread and it tastes better. The shrimp were advertised as 1 pound ($20) but doesn't specify that that includes the heads, tails, sauce and shells. For three people after tax, 2 sodas, 1 beer, 2 lobster tails, 1 pound of shrimp and 3 corn cobs and $20 tip we spent $140 and we all left hungry. Had to stop by taco bell on the way home. If you have an unlimited budget and like how they put the buckets of food on the paper on the table (that was a different option we didn't get it) I think you will like this place. It got kinda busy at lunch so people do like seem to like it here.
Do not get the king crab leg or snow crab clusters. $20 for 2 legs that were almost dry inside and $40 for 4 legs is kind of insane. This is our first time trying it and for the amount of money you pay the place atmosphere is like a run down dinner. There is no service, they take your order, drop it off at your table and you will never see them again. Then you go and pay the tab at the register. For the price, you might expect a nicer place and service but it might be worth it for someone. I would not do that again. This ticket is for 2 people.
Would have rated 5 star but service was not good. Sign said they opened at 3pm but they had us waiting outside to open their doors for 13 min. When the waiter finally oppened the doors we asked how long it would take to get our food he said 30 min so we devided to wait(he lied). We were the first ones to get there and first ones to walk into the restaurant, yet, waiter took other guys order first and a phone order that came in as we were waiting to order. The guy was a thin Asian guy around his 50's AVOID HIM. He was not nice, did not smile and looked bothered all the time we were there until we left. The restaurant was super hot and I was too afraid to ask the waiter to turn the fan on. The food however, was delicious. We order shrimp, king crab, lobster and corn. With the home sauce and silliest level(not spicy for a Mexican Like me) but still very good. I definitely recommend the food but service was the worse to say the least. I recommend ordering to go, which is what I will do. I am willing to give them a second try if that waiter is not on shift.
I got fried crab cheese pops are they were over done and just had like cream cheese in it. I didn’t tase any crab. And you don’t get refills. So better not come thirsty or get anything spicy. They charge every cup you get.
Very overpriced. Bought a lb of prawns and ended up not being able to eat them because the poop vein had not been removed from them. Which is really nasty and lazy, and actually a health code violation. This older woman sat there and watched us eat the whole time just staring at us. Super uncomfortable. Overall trashy and scammy.
Food was okay but way over priced. Staff were very negative. Took 30 minutes to get seated, waitress was no were to be found and they charge an 18% gratuity automatically and still ask for a tip
This restaurant is definitely interesting to say the least. When we walked in, we weren't greeted with hello, but instead the host said "for three" and that was it. We waited a few minutes and a server brought us to our table. After that we looked over the menus, everything sounded great. Our order was taken in a timely fashion, although we were told we could not order a bag without seafood (one person in our party was allergic). Usually at these kinds of restaurants, you can order a bag with sausage, corn and potatoes (no seafood). They told us they didn't allow that, and if we wanted we could order the sides and put them into a different parties bag and use their sauce. We declined and that person ordered chicken tenders. For the rest of our time in the restaurant we were not checked on, someone came to the table a couple times to grab empty baskets but not much was said. Overall I think they should have options for a bag without seafood, and they should work on their service. No one in the building had a smile on their face. Would not go back.
I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed it every time, except for our last visit. I got awful food poisoning from the mussels I believe, because I was the only one who ordered that out of my party and was the only one hit with it. Can definitely say my experience with crab/most seafood in general has been ruined.
