Went here for the first time on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend. The food was outstanding and the music was amazing (I love freestyle) we had a great time. Although they may have been short staffed , the wait staff/ manager did everything they could for such a busy night - people need to give them more credit. I will be back
Phenomenal!!! Burger is very underrated. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Willing to make accommodations for their customers. Can’t wait to come back!
I kept seeing this place on my Instagram feed from several NY influencers, and I knew eventually I had to check them out. This place is totally awesome. Beautiful restaurant, fantastic vibe, and wonderful service. As soon as I walked in for my reservation, I was welcomed and greeted so warmly by Ayala. Ayala was also my server/bartender, and she was very attentive throughout my meal... and she concocts really great cocktails 😉. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and salmon, and both were fantastic. The salmon dish had a lot of flavor and was cooked to perfection. They have a great food and drinks menu, and the prices here are pretty standard, in my opinion. I enjoyed my first experience here, and I look forward to dining here again in the future.
Not understanding the negative reviews for this restaurant. The food was amazing, and the service was on point. Our waiter was so attentive. The special appetizer eggplant stack with buratta was outstanding! The other appetizers were so delicious. We had steak, penne vodka, and chicken. All tender and delicious. Side of Brussels sprouts and onion strings were really good. We ended the meal with homemade Tiramisu! The DJ was playing great old-school dance hits! The vibe was old-school Bay Ridge, and we had a blast. Drinks were made perfectly. Definitely go check it out. Added bonus there is valet parking, which is helpful for Bay Ridge.
I had the best experience last night for dinner. Arrived after 6, with a few patrons already dining. The fried calamari for apps was so fresh. I’ve been to restaurants where they turn rubbery, totally the opposite at Malone’s Chophouse. For our main course, my husband ordered the t-bone steak with embers pie (mashed potatoes with prosciutto), and I had the potato crusted salmon with sautéed spinach and mash. Both dishes came out perfect. I was quite impressed. It was the best Salmon I have ever eaten. Go try Malone’s, you will not be disappointed.
Always a great time at Malone’s. From the steak to even the pasta and chicken dishes.. we never leave disappointed. (The chicken francese is my favorite!!). Not to mention, the service is top notch, especially Ayala, who is wonderful & always makes sure we have a great experience! 11/10 recommend!
Went for Valentine’s Day with my wife for dinner and it was amazing really great great service food was delicious and owner was very nice introducing himself and asking if our needs were met and thanked us for coming
Nice new steakhouse in Bay Ridge. Steaks are excellent and the salads are huge. Nice wait staff. We had several items, highly recommend the porterhouse, the cesar salad, calamari, cream spinach and for dessert their chocolate fudge mousse cake is fantastic. Prices are reasonable too. Very glad to see a steakhouse of this quality in Bay ridge again.
Been here numerous times and our meals have always been excellent! Last night decided to change it up and ordered chicken parm over rigatoni with vodka sauce and it was delicious! My husband ordered the dry aged strip steak and it was the best one we’ve had to date! The quality of meat ordered by this restaurant beats any other local steakhouse by a mile! The prices are comparable but I also don’t mind paying more for better quality products.
Malone's is a fantastic steakhouse conveniently located on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It's right off the Belt Parkway and parking is convenient (though they do have valet service). The apps are fantastic. The peanut butter and jelly pork belly and the jumbo lump crab cakes were delicious. The spicy rigatoni with sausage is a standout also. As far as steak in Brooklyn, it is better than Peter Luger imho. Try the dry aged porterhouse and get all the sides with it. You won't be dissappointed!
Great addition to bay ridge, only feedback is the upcharge for everything. If they ask you if you want something like peppers in your calamari it will be an extra cost, which wasn’t really clear, but regardless the food was executed perfectly - the steak was phenomenal and the cheesecake was great. Big shoutout to the Parmesan encrusted asparagus which were killer and the porterhouse medium rare, with a gorgeous char crust and perfect juicy red inside

This is exactly what Bay Ridge needed! Friendly staff, strong drinks, unique apps - try the Bacon with Miso peanut butter and apple jalapeño jelly, and all the steakhouse classics - with some Italian staples thrown in. The atmosphere is modern with nostalgic nods to Brooklyn history and famous locations. Everything I’ve ordered has been too tier - including the sausage and pepper Ragú, steaks, seafood (tuna), calamari, and arancini. Can’t wait to go back.
We felt so incredibly welcomed as soon as we walked it. We were worried that we weren’t dressed properly, but we’re reassured it wasn’t a problem at all. The atmosphere was very fun and reminiscent of older Bay Ridge, righ up our alley. We were greeted by Greg the Owner, who was super friendly and so knowledgeable of the food industry. We started with the seafood platter for 2 as an appetizer oysters, shrimp, lobster and crab… Killer!! So fresh! We also had the special egg roll Appetizer, scrumptious!! We then had the agen 28 oz ribeye(cooked to perfection) the outer part so charred and delicious and the inner rare meat was so tender and flavorful. We also had onion strings(super yummy) creamed spinach😋😋 and potato pie! All was so (sorry to repeat myself) delicious. We can’t wait to come back! So many things to try! That is for a great 34th Anniversary Dinner!! Corinne & John Farrell🩷
Old work reunion…Steaks, Appetizers, Service were all excellent. Definitely will be back again.
This is my favorite chophouse in the Bay Ridge area. The steaks are done to perfection and the sides are delicious. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Love this place and would highly recommend !
Loved this place! The food was super fresh and full of flavor, the staff were really friendly, and the vibe was relaxed and fun. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing — definitely coming back again!

The place advertises itself as an”old school steakhouse” unfortunately it does not have that fell at all. It feel like a modern day burger joint with the lights and disco ball and a TV in the dining room!!!! For a second i wasn’t sure if this was a stake houce or just a bar. We were sat 20 min past our reservation time which is fine, new place in the neighborhood they were packed! The table where we were sat, the floor had a slant so the whole time i felt like i was sitting in a handicap ramp sliding to my left. The food is very very good BUT you will need to order and try as you go because staff is very uneducated in regards to the menu, anything that we picked from the menu and had a question on was either not available or the server had to go and ask the manager. Many things were not available. I ask for a wine list, i was told they do not have one but will get back to me and let me know that they have, never came back. We had to ask several different staff member for different things as out waiter/waitress was not really paying attention to us. It was apparent the dinning room staff was weak and unprofessional, meaning when i spend $$$ i expect a little more then what we got as far as service goes. Not going to lie the service was beyond disappointing, but we will be back to give it another try in few months hopefully they have it figured out by then. I definitely recommend it as the food really was good at least most of it. They charge 4% if you pay with a credit card which means they actually make $ off you using a credit card (standard merchant service fee is 2.95%) - i didn’t appreciate that as it was not mentioned by anyone nor did it say it in the menu which its should according to the state. Receipt is attached to this, dinner for 2 i tipped $60 on top of what you see even thou they didnt deserve it but everyone needs to make a living so thats that!
Malone’s Chop House caught us a bit off guard. When we walked in, the place felt pretty casual, which didn’t quite match the fine dining-style menu and service that followed. We started with the grilled octopus and short rib egg roll. The octopus was tender and full of flavor. The egg roll was tasty, with shaved Brussels on top. The filling made the wrapper a bit soggy, but the flavor made up for it. The dry-aged porterhouse was great—well-cooked and seasoned right. The standout, though, was the sweet and crispy Brussels sprouts. They were packed with flavor and definitely the most memorable dish of the night. The onion strings were also solid. Dessert was just okay—nothing special. The drinks, however, were excellent and well-balanced. The best part of the evening was the service. Our server was attentive, professional, and made the experience feel more polished than the setting suggested. I wish I had asked for his name—he really made the night! Overall: Malone’s has a few standout dishes, great drinks, and truly excellent service. The casual atmosphere and some very small misses held it back a tad bit, but it’s worth a visit—just don’t let the casual look fool you.
Filet Minion was raw even after requesting it to be cooked a bit longer. Server's stated it was medium as we cut into it, but image says otherwise. The Crab Cakes and Caesar Salad were decent. Atmosphere felt more like a bachelor pad than a traditional steakhouse.
Malone’s Chop House exemplifies mediocrity dressed up as refinement. The dry-aged steak was tough, bland, and POORLY GRILLED, made worse by clearly subpar meat quality. Despite invoking the Pat LaFrieda name on the menu, the beef itself failed to justify the association, reading more as a marketing crutch than a mark of quality. The appetizers were equally misfired. The PB&J pork belly was an unlayered slab of fat with no balance. The grilled octopus was soggy and textureless, while the fried calamari was rubbery and unpleasant. Our steak orders was incorrect, and when these issues were raised, the male server made no effort to intervene, instead avoiding the table altogether. This indifference speaks to deeper operational failure. In New York City, where excellence is the baseline, Malone’s offers none. Avoid.
Yesterday was our birthday’s party. We had 12 people there, and that was my first time be there, so, I was very high expectation for this steakhouse. Some of our friends were there before, then they ordered 3 bottles of red wines, some appetizers and 6 steaks ( 3 had bones and rest were boneless) One of the appetizer was octopus. I usually love it but this time forget about it when I try a little bite, it was fresh, and felt mushy. Then, I fully stopped to eat until the main course to come up. When the waitresses severed the seals on the tables. I can’t believe it what my friends told me that must be try their steaks. It wasn’t tasty. I don’t know how to explained at all. We all looked at each other and speechless. I never had the steaks like that. Even though Texas Road House is better than that. We all were not happy for that and the total amount we paid for the was $1,300. Then, we went to another place to eat. I don’t think will back again.
Before I was happy to have a steakhouse like this in the Brooklyn area with a certain standard of food and service, I’ve been there many, many times and I’ve been satisfied every time, just once like tonight, sometimes it’s understandable for chefs to lose their standards because they’re too busy, so I’m not complaining. But after tonight’s dining experience that completely changed my mind, tonight I purposely asked some friends from Long Island and New Jersey out for their steak, we ordered some appetizers and 3 bottles of red wine, 6 steaks for the main meal, only one was decent (the same as I used to eat similar things over) The rest is garbage, inferior to 0utback steak, the steak seems to be cooked by water not grilled, I have reflected this problem to the waiter, he did not express the slightest apology, and left straight away, and no longer pay attention to our table, this meal we ate $1300, I wouldn’t have tipped a penny if they didn’t add a 22% tip directly to the bill. It can be blacklisted directly

What a shocking experience. We arrived for a 7:30 reservation on Valentine's to find a packed bar area filled with people waiting for tables. There was no host or hostess, mostly empty dining room tables, and unhappy folks talking about how they'd been waiting for their reserved table for an hour already and had not been called for seating. We finally got the attention of one of the waiters who said it would be a few minutes. That person did not check a reservation system to check us in, nor did they write our names down on any list. There was NO system in place for check ins from what we experienced. As we waited more people with reservations arrived. It was chaos. We cut our losses and left after we heard that a seated table had already waited for 40 minutes without a visit from the overwhelmed waitstaff. We do not know what happened to cause the mess, but the restaurant appeared to be in a tailspin. We had a great dinner across the street, and didn't let it ruin our Valentine's Day. After we finished our dinner, we checked back at Malone's to see the same people waiting to be seated. The restaurant still showed available reservations for the night. Something appeared off, and we will not be making another attempt to visit this restaurant.
We went a few weeks ago, and don't usually post reviews, but this was a special case so I finally decided to do so. Better that you know. This place used to be Embers steakhouse. Unfortunately the food was pretty bad as this new version of the Embers was sorely lacking. We started with appetizers of bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly, and fried calamari. Calamari was overly salty, but ok. The bacon and jelly was good, but the peanut butter just didn't go, and this too was ultra salty. We shared a 40 oz porterhouse steak with mash and spinach. The spinach was not edible. It was stringy, chewy, and tasted like cardboard, but still overly salty. The baked mash potatoes were a weird consistency, and again, overly salty. The steak was just ok, nothing special. And yet again, salty. We did not bother with any dessert. It was expensive, considering how bad it was. With a few drinks around $200 without tip. Service was good though, food was crappy. If in Bay Ridge, go to Chadwicks instead.
The fried Calamari was just hard breadcrumbs! The burgers were not cooked right, one well done came out raw, medium well came out rare. 4 out of 4 burgers were wrong. When we told the waiter, he did not even apologize! One person ordered the steak and that was fine ,however, the baked potato on the side was not! She took a bite, and there was something very hard in it. She could not even chew it. She had to spit it out.. Service was almost nonexistent!! And while we were eating, they were bringing the raw steaks to put in the refrigerator. Not very appetizing at all
We made reservations for 8:30 and spent an hour and a half just to get seated. Almost felt redundant making a reservation to wait for that long. But the worst part is how the staff completely ignores you. At least acknowledge the time people have been waiting. We finally get seated and we proceed to wait 50 minutes for drink. When we saw a couple that decided to seat themselves AFTER we got seated, get there salad and food before we got drinks, we decided to leave. And the staff then proceeded to give me a tough time just to charge me for my drinks. I had to threaten to walk out without paying to get them to charge me because they continuously tried to stall us from leaving. Absolutely a terrible experience. Understaffed and the manager or owner just sits at the bar taking up seating, completely oblivious. Felt like I was on an episode of Bar Rescue.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was a disaster from start to finish. First off, the service was atrocious. We were seated and then ignored for 20 minutes before anyone even took our drink order. When we finally got a server’s attention, they seemed annoyed we were even there. The atmosphere was unbearable. The music was blaring and it made it impossible to have a conversation. Not to mention, it felt more like a club than a steakhouse. Not exactly the vibe you want with an expensivd steak. Speaking of the steak… mine was supposed to be medium rare, but it came out well done, dry, and flavorless. I’ve had better meat from a microwave dinner. The sides weren’t any better — my mashed potatoes were somehow still cold in the center, like they were just half-thawed, and the veggies were practically raw. When I asked to speak with a manager, they brushed me off and said they were “busy tonight.” Clearly, customer satisfaction isn’t on the menu. Save your money and your evening. This place is all sizzle, no steak.
