Very traditional Hong Kong cuisine. Reminds me of the food I ate while growing up. It is server American style so not really meant for sharing or big lazy susan table but you can make it work. Flavors are great. Service is amazing. Decor is a treat!

If you’re in Cincinnati and haven’t been to Oriental Wok yet, you are truly missing something special. From the moment we walked in and mentioned it was our first time, we were treated like family. The owner’s daughter warmly welcomed us, immediately making us feel at home. What makes Oriental Wok extraordinary isn’t just the food — it’s the people. The regular patrons were passionate, kind, and genuinely excited to help us order. A heartfelt thank you to Tom & Sue (have an amazing cruise!) and John — and my apologies for forgetting your name, but you’re the talented interior decorator! It wasn’t just one person singing this place’s praises — multiple regulars confirmed that what we were experiencing is the norm here. And then there’s the food. We started with the Ma Ma Dumplings, which were absolutely incredible — delicate, flavorful, and the perfect introduction to the meal. The cumin beef was bold, aromatic, and beautifully balanced with warmth and spice. The Chengdu Spicy Grouper was a standout — vibrant, perfectly cooked, and packed with complex heat and flavor. Every dish was as beautiful and memorable as the personalities that fill the restaurant. If you get the chance, sit at the bar. Michael and John will take exceptional care of you. John crafts what may be the best margarita in Cincinnati, and Michael created a dessert liqueur just for us as first-timers — a thoughtful, personalized touch that made the evening even more special. To top it all off, Susan, the owner, brought over her father — the man who started it all in 1972 — who happened to be visiting that night. He took the time to speak with us, and that simple gesture meant so much. You can truly feel the history, pride, and heart behind this restaurant. Everything was delicious. Everything was warm. Everything felt genuine. The next time I’m in Cincinnati, Oriental Wok will be at the very top of my list. Wishing you continued success and a very Happy Chinese New Year!

After a long day of travel, I found myself craving something warm, something that felt like comfort. I stumbled across Oriental Wok and figured I’d give it a try — the reviews were glowing, and I was starving. They were right. The food was incredible — hot, fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every bite felt like exactly what I needed after being on the road all day. Even the pickup experience caught me off guard in the best way. One of the staff members held the door open for me and mentioned that next time, I could just pull my car around and they’d bring the order out. That small act of kindness stuck with me. I think I even caught a glimpse of the owner up front, greeting guests with a genuine smile. She still took a moment to say thank you, even to someone just grabbing takeout. When you’re traveling alone, it’s easy to feel like you’re just passing through. But sometimes, it’s a good meal and a few kind people that remind you there’s warmth to be found anywhere. Thank you, Oriental Wok — you turned an ordinary night into something memorable.

We have been visiting Oriental Wok for date nights and special occasions since 2022 and every single one of our visits has been wonderful! The food is very high quality – I like to take the staff's recommendations on their top authentic dishes and they have never steered me wrong. The seafood is excellent, as well as the duck and cumin beef. I always ask for a side of Chinese greens because they complement dishes so well and I just love the garlic sauce they're cooked in. The mixed beverages we've had are generously poured and strong, and they have a good wine selection. The atmosphere is appropriate for an upscale night out, but it also has a cozy feel that works for a casual vibe if we don't feel like dressing up. Finally, I have to say that I've always loved that Oriental Wok's owners still stand at the door to greet guests and will circulate through the dining rooms to check on you throughout the meal. I've met several of their children and grandchildren waiting our tables as well — just all around a super cool family. I recommend Oriental Wok to all my friends and family and always look forward to going back!

Such a fun vibe!! Drinks and food were incredible! Can’t go wrong with any of the signature cocktails there! The presentation was so amazing and the service was even better! Dom was our server and he was so sweet! The owners too were so wonderful and made us feel like family! A perfect edition to any weekend- or birthday experience!!

Our first time here, this is a great Chinese restaurant, it's a great restaurant period! First, the atmosphere is everything you'd want, clean, great decor, and elegant. You can see special touches throughout, such as a carved jade ship, and inlaid designs in chairs and tables. The service from Ben was prompt, friendly, and he gave great advice helping guide us in our selections which did not disappoint. We chose a pork dish not on the menu, and a Cheng Du spicy grouper, both DELICIOUS. After our dinner, the owners daughter Susanna talked to us, inquiring about our dinner, making sure all was good. A personal touch we appreciated. Oh, watch out for the Wong Island iced tea, pace yourself. If you like Asian food, this is a definite destination. We will return soon.

Meng was our waiter, and he was great! I appreciated him communicating when certain dishes we ordered would arrive. Food was great, the atmosphere and interior made me feel nostalgic (in a good way!), and bathroom was clean too. I like their choice of background music, and it was at the right volume. I also liked how there was reserved parking for customers, so find parking was not a hassle at all! Thank you for existing!

The food is so good. The only thing I wish would be bigger size orders...

Hard to choose, everything looks so good on the menu. Schezwan Triple is what my wife is eating, she really likes it with white rice. We split lettuce wraps first. I had the Singapore Noodles which is very tasty and they made it very spicy for me. The desert was very chocolaty and creamy she ate most of it while I wrote this.

Best Chinese I've had. Service is amazing, definitely worth a stop.

Some of the best Chinese food that I have had. The family that runs this place takes pride in their food, location, and service. None of the dishes were greasy and their flavor/texture components were well balanced. I would definitely go back again. Don’t be afraid the branch out and try some of the more traditional “home cooking” meals on the menu. The portions are also enough for one person with just a little bit to spare...I wouldn’t say there is enough for two.

This place is amazing! Great ambiance, great service, and great food. The Chinese Style Fish was too good. I also tried the Kung Pao Chicken and it was good. Definitely going back here to try something else from their extra long menu.

This restaurant has been part of our community for over 40+ years. Their food is always good,as well as authentic Chinese food. The atmosphere is good enough to take your Chinese in-laws to, without being embarrassed. The service is impeccable,as well as the atmosphere is enough to get lost in. The food is plentiful, and tasty. This is a hidden gem, named one of the top 100 restaurants in the area. You will not find another unique immersive international experience like this one in the Cincinnati Ohio area.

Went early for dinner. Great atmosphere! We had the scallion pancakes with eggplant and the ma la dumplings for appetizers and finished both. Kung pao tofu and twice-fried pork were also great. Beautiful cocktails too!

Visiting Oriental Wok in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a truly memorable experience, and I cannot recommend this fantastic restaurant enough. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was nothing short of impeccable. The story of Oriental Wok is as rich and delightful as the dishes they serve. Dr. Mike Wong, a charismatic and ambitious entrepreneur, founded the restaurant in 1977. After moving to the United States from Hong Kong to study pharmacology, Dr. Wong realized his true passion was for the culinary arts. With great determination and grit, he took the bold step to open Oriental Wok and introduce the people of Cincinnati to the authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine. The menu at Oriental Wok is extensive, offering a wide array of dishes that cater to various palates. I had the pleasure of trying their famous Peking Duck, which was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a mouthwatering hoisin sauce. Everything we had was delicious and full of flavor. What sets Oriental Wok apart from other Chinese restaurants is not only the quality of their food, but also the dedication to preserving traditional recipes while incorporating modern twists. This perfect fusion of old and new is a testament to Dr. Wong's vision and the restaurant's commitment to excellence. The staff at Oriental Wok were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they were more than happy to accommodate our dietary restrictions and preferences. Oriental Wok is a must-visit for anyone in Cincinnati looking for an exquisite dining experience. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a fascinating backstory make it a truly unique and unforgettable culinary gem in the city. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the amazing dishes at Oriental Wok, all thanks to Dr. Mike Wong's inspiring journey! For more check out @angieknowsthetruth & @cincinnatifoodies on instagram!

Excellent as always, from food quality to service. Were repeat customers. The duck and fish are highly recommended, but you honestly can’t go wrong.

Oriental Wok is very nice restaurant with good ambience and amazing live Piano music. Staff is so courteous and friendly. Food ordered, tasted fresh as well as delicious and arrived on time. They have maintained good distance between tables so you feel comfortable for dine-in. Surely a vegetarian friendly place.

We had a lovely dinner at Oriental Wok! We arrived slightly ahead of our reservation and we were seated very quickly. The decor is stunning, everywhere you look there is something interesting that catches your eye. The seating was comfortable and it was very easy to have a conversation. The menu has some really great selections and the dishes we ordered were fantastic!

Super tasty! Loved the pot stickers and the lychee martini! Beautiful service. Our cups were never empty and the waitress checked on us to make sure we had what we needed and were taken care of. I can't wait to show friends and family this great food nearby!

We always love dining in, but as it's patio season, we decided to get takeaway. It was easy to order through their website, and the estimated time was spot on. Everything was carefully packed, plenty of sauces and cookies, and packaged in a nice little bag. When my husband arrived, he called the number in our order, and 2 minutes later, food was delivered car side. He said it was the most pleasant and efficient takeaway order he's ever gotten for us. The food was hot and fresh and we're excited to add this to our takeaway nights.

This restaurant has the best service, best atmosphere, best drinks, and best food. This is the first review I’ve ever made and it is because I was blown away by the experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. It is worth every penny. The owner is so sweet and our server, Dominic, was stellar.

Aesthetically pleasing, staff and service were great, our waitress was very professional and timely, the food was fantastic. My husband and I shared a wonton soup and dumping appetizer and they were soooo good, our entrees were great, and we shared a key lime pie. So yum.

10/10 (or 20/20) based on the stars I can put. Me and my fiancee came up for our anniversary recently, and it was awesome! We'd previously eaten here a few other times having only stumbled upon it the first time. Never heard of the place before our first time though. We've bought T-shirts and had an anniversary song get sung to us. The "vibe" or atmosphere is charming. The people running the place are very nice and actually engaging. The food is the best I've had in this style of cuisine. I also should state this is the first place I'd ever tried sake as well and that stuff is dangerous in the good way! I love this place and it's a hidden gem for anyone who has yet to try it. If you like either chillax or fun out to eat meals that are special and the food is worth the price: this is the place for that! The food is very filling, the place is cozy, the people are awesome. 🤘(I think they do delivery but unsure because I like eating in the place)

Ben at Oriental Wok was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating throughout our entire meal. When one of my friends didn’t like the soup she ordered, he immediately offered to change it without hesitation and made sure she was happy with the replacement. His service truly stood out and made our experience even better. Thank you, Ben, for going above and beyond.

A bit of a drive for us but completely worth it! We needed strict Gluten Free for one order and you guys are great about that. From your menu to your service. The GF pad Thai was very good as was the vegetable fried rice. Might have been the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Loved being able to sub brown rice and adding cashews for protein and crunch. We will definitely be back! Curbside pickup always a plus in winter!

We ate here while traveling through (and spending the night in) town and really loved it. It is an enormous, fun restaurant with good Chinese American food, decorated in the classic Chinese-American style - lots of red and gold, paper lanterns on the ceiling, jade sculptures, etc. It makes for a fun night out, and the food was genuinely very good - we had crab Rangoon, beef lo mein, the eggplant, and the Chengdu spicy grouper (which I appreciated was properly spicy.) Would totally go here again whenever we’re next in town.

Great food, staff, and atmosphere! From the moment I walked into Oriental Wok, I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere perfectly balances elegance and comfort with soft lighting, and subtle music that enhances the dining experience without overpowering it. Suzanna, daughter of the owners, greeted us as if she knew us for years. The food was absolutely delicious and we plan to make this a regular stop for us whenever we are passing through Cincinnati!

While the food is consistently wonderful, I can’t say enough about the service and this lovely family-owned business. For the past 10 years, we’ve celebrated here with a large group, and even when we’ve needed to change our reservation, they’ve always been kind and accommodating. A true gem in our city.

Best Chinese meal I have ever had in Cincinnati. Service was on par with The Maisonette with the way they kept the table. They went above and beyond for our children and can not wait to go back and try other delicious dishes. Bravo

We drove a long way for "The best Chinese in Cincinnati" and let me say, it did not disappoint! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was awesome, and the owner is the absolute sweetest! We were so glad we picked Oriental Wok and we will definitely go back! Thanks so much to everyone who made it a great experience!

Food was good. Service was exceptional. Absolutely refreshing how good the service here is, from start to finish. 100% recommend dining in. Only thing I can say is that I was charged tax, during tax free week and didn’t notice till we left. Just $10 but I’d love to know where that money is going.

Got a take out but was able to eat it right away so the food stayed fresh. Aside from the fried rice being a little too salty, the food was great. It's a different version of chicken Broccoli and sesame chicken that we are used to but definitely better. Place seemed to have a nice ambiance and clean.

Great atmosphere and I liked how the restaurant was done. The service was good too. We started with scallion pancakes and crab rangoons. Crab rangoons were some of the best that we have had so far. For our main dishes we ordered the 5 spice tofu. I loved the texture of their tofu. It was crispy but not too oily that was a big win. The tofu came with a side of rice. We also got the Moo shu chicken and moo shu pork. Both were really really good. These came with four pancakes. The portion size was good enough for one person. All in all we had a great experience. Expect a wait time of 15-30 minutes on the weekends.

Everybody has different preferences for Chinese food. For me, I like to be able to SEE the meat I’m eating. I got the sesame chicken and it is pure white meat. Some people just like chicken thighs and they don’t use that here. For me, it’s a win! The only reason for 4 stars is bc it’s my personal preference that I wish the chicken either had more breading or the chunks were smaller and that it could have been sweeter/more flavor? In their defense, the lady on the phone said that if I wanted more spice, to get the orange chicken! Fried rice was great and wasn’t greasy. The eggs rolls have minced chicken instead of pork, which I never heard of, but I enjoyed them! Not greasy (again, a win for me). Their dipping sauces were great and the mustard was SPICY, yum!

I wish I could give them more like 4.25 or 4.5 stars. Took my dad here for his birthday as he LOVES Chinese food, and I wanted to do something nicer than a buffet. Plus, I've wanted to try this place for a while. We started with appetizers - egg rolls, Bali Maki steak, pot stickers, and soup. My dad really liked the soup. My son and I loved the steak but thought the egg roll was meh. For dinner, my son and I shared the General Wong's chicken and Szechuan Triple. I will totally get the General Wong's again - that was my favorite thing I ate. Both dishes included a lot of veggies which I thought was great as that isn't always the case at other places. My dad splurged on the scallops and eggplant (probably since I was paying, lol!) and said it was really good. Since it was my dad's birthday, they surprised him with a dessert and made him wear this sparkly Elton John hat. We sang to him while they hit the gong. It was quite amusing and unexpected, and my dad really enjoyed the entire night. Itt was definitely not cheap (about $200 for the three of us with several appetizers, three entrees, three glasses of wine, and one dessert for my kid as I assume dad's was free?), but I would recommend and will be back for more General Wong's chicken.

Food was just OK. The drinks on the other hand are very good. First time there was not pleased the waiter and the atmosphere was from phenomenal.

K
Kaushik Roy

Great atmosphere and service but didn't like the food. I went there because of the high rating but was left disappointed. IMO, the food is not authentic in terms of taste, spice levels and it has been designed to cater to its major customer base. This is completely understandable but I won't be visiting again.
