Great food in this tiny space (2 tables only). All dishes can be made veg or vegan as well. Big portions; we had 4 dishes for 5 hungry people and were all full. Attentive friendly and personal service.

The food is incredible. Chilaquiles and huevos rancheros all day, but they are known for las clavadas which is a torta dipped in red sauce. Make sure to order a michelada and talk with the owner Stef who speaks perfect English (if that is of concern). She is super kind and gave us great recommendations.

This place is great. The food was delicious. The people were amazing. The music, deco, and menus all put a smile on our faces. Definitely eat here!

Stef y Carlos are gems!!! We will be returning with future visits. Incredible food, service, and drinks; but most of all, they recreate the feeling of family in each interaction. We came for a Mexican breakfast which was great! Some of the flavours were a bit too strong for my non-Mexican tongue but the experience was great. They have a great coffee with cinnamon that we recommend The staff was very nice and with the little english that had really helped choose from the manu And of course the place is designed super cool!

Really good place ! The different meal full of color and various ingredients. Amazing kitchen I really like the chilaquiles. Fun place, good food. I had a vegan tofu sandwich with sauce (clavada) and it was really tasty. They managed to make the tofu with a good texture and flavor, which is uncommon for a regular restaurant. For this they get an extra star. Also had guacamole and chips, which were good. The vibe is quirky and edgy, and the service was friendly and efficient. Check it out for something tasty and cool!

Wow.. I’m blown away! Just finishing a takeout order from here— vegan enchilada dish (with seitan) and a carnitas torta—and I’m amazed with the tastes and textures of the vegan food. Best vegan Mexican eating experience in the city so far and my boyfriend loved the carnitas and the vegan food as well. 100/10. And it wasn’t even hot when I ate because I had to walk home first 😂 ..so that’s saying something

Best breakfast/brunch we had in Mexico City. I recommend the fried enchilada chilaquiles. Could honesty feed two people - portions huge. Super lovely service. Quirky decorations and menus and just a 10/10 vibe. Only wish we had been able to go back again.

Had an amazing lunch here! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and big portioned. The overall vibe of the place is very welcoming and relaxing. Definitely a spot I would visit again on a next trip. Enchiladas de cochinito was my meal.

Went here for a late lunch. The servers, David and Lisa (I hope I got the name right) were friendly and attentive, which I appreciate. The food was also very flavorful. I ordered the guacamole, carnitas and cochinita chilaquiles and fresh orange juice. Everything was tasty and the homemade tortilla chips made all the dishes better. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. There were games and trinkets on the table to pass the time and the restaurant was colorful and vibrant with all sorts of decorations, pictures and stickers. All these things give this restaurant a very laid back kind of vibe. I would definitely come here again.

Mal de Cruz has some of the best food I had in Mexico City. The flavors were fresh, authentic, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even better. The breakfast dish was absolutely unforgettable. If you’re in Mexico City and want a truly delicious start to your day, I couldn’t recommend this place more. If I’m ever back in CDMX, I’ll definitely be coming back!

At first, we were a little hesitant because of the atmosphere, but the food and service were so good that it ended up being the best restaurant we visited in Mexico City. It was also easy to find vegan options. Sadly, we could only eat there once because it closes at 5 PM.

!!Look no further for breakfast/lunch in Mexico!! Luckily stumbled upon this place for breakfast. Away from the gentrified bare-concrete concept restaurants of Condesa and Roma, this is an authentic small eatery with delicious food. The best chilaquiles I've had in Mexico, served with sides of salsas, totopos, coffee with marzipan. Large portions. Price very reasonable. Atmosphere is great, staff (and in particular the owner Estefanía) are wonderful human beings. A real success story for small business. They put their heart into this!

I loved the retro colorful theme of the restaurant and the staff was helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate my dairy free/meat free preferences. The chilaquiles were not the best I’ve had, but the soy meat substitute was cooked to perfection.

filthy spot. the kitchen is grimier than your average public toilet. . the workers hands were worse. bathroom itself smelled reviling. confidently the dirtiest establishment i have dined in mexico city or beyond. took two bites before choosing to leave my plate. almost like a project devised by drunk teens trying to get each other sick. i hope they get shuttered.
