Excellent prices, generous portions, and high-quality food. Attentive and friendly staff. Edgar served me and was always attentive. A quiet and pleasant place; I will definitely return! I recommend the marzipan cake.
Update August 2025 The quality of their food has significantly decreased. So has the service. They're friendly, but they don't show up at the tables except when they take the order and deliver the food. There were no people there today. I was the first table for lunch. The cutlery was dirty. The food was bland and the portions were small. Too bad. I'm not going back. December 2024: The pear tiradito with burrata and prosciutto is highly recommended. The risotto was a bit undercooked. The chocolate cake was perfectly cooked. What stands out is the excellent service and its relaxed boho atmosphere. Coyoacán needed a place like this. Excellent prices. The ideal place to escape the same old same old. Great success.
The food is delicious and the portions are generous, everyone is very attentive and friendly, and the place is beautiful and peaceful, especially the terrace. Plus, there's live music on Saturdays at dinner; the singer is lovely and the atmosphere becomes very pleasant, perfect for enjoying with a glass of wine. It's definitely a place I'll return to.
Fantastically fresh and flavorful food, lovely atmosphere and wonderful service. Highly recommend!
The food was just excellent and creative, not to mention a true eye candy! We particularly loved the cochinita pibil, the tiradito de atun and the sopa de calabasas. Desserts too were mouth watering. Great find in a quiet corner in coyoacan!
We visited the Frida Kahlo museum, and after the visit my party of 6 were looking for somewhere to have dinner. We walked into this Bistro to try their food. We were amazed at the quality of service and the taste of the dishes. I highly recommend it to everyone. Congratulations to the chef.
The place caught my eye because it was packed. I went to try a risotto for the first time. I really enjoyed the combination with asparagus. I loved the lemon and cheese flavors. The place is very pretty and peaceful, with a lovely aesthetic, and they even sell paintings. I liked the music. The service was neither good nor bad. I'd like to go back and try their coffees.
Food and presentation were great. However they only had two servers and I did have to stand up to get the server to pour more coffee, she did have a good attitude. My take from this, is that this restaurant should have one more server that is why I graded it with 4 stars. Overall I do recommend Recinto Amapa.
The first time we visited this place was a pleasant experience; the place is beautiful, and the service wasn't great but acceptable. However, when we returned a few weeks later, the service left much to be desired. We waited 40 minutes to be seated, which was fine since they notified us and we accepted, but the waiter's attention wasn't the best, and the food quality wasn't very good. I hope they don't lose their focus on service and flavor because they have a very nice concept. ☺️
Recinto Amapa is a beautiful and well-decorated place. The menu features modern Mexican food. I ordered a tlayuda without cecina (dried, salted beef), but with grilled panela cheese. The tlayuda they brought me was more like a large, open-faced tostada made with blue corn. Among other things, it had very salty fresh (uncooked) nopales (cactus pads). The service is chaotic: they forget things and take a long time (up to five minutes because they forgot the salsa for the tlayuda). The chimichurri tart was very dry, and the cream was basically sugar and fat. The place has potential, and I will return.
Dirty cutlery, spoiled salmon Terrible service. Good day! Today we arrived at the restaurant intending to have a good time. It's my friend's birthday and we decided to celebrate here since we've been several times. We ordered a salmon toast and an avocado toast. When I tasted the salmon, I noticed a very strong fishy flavor, so I asked them to replace it with another dish. The waiter came and said, "Please allow me." He returned and said, "The chef says what's wrong with it. Is it spoiled, raw, or what?" I said, "I think it's spoiled," to which he proceeded to hold it up to his face and smell it. He came back and told me he couldn't do anything, that it was fresh. I asked to speak to the manager, who came and told me she couldn't do anything either. Against the light, I could see saliva on the dish, which I had to cover with my hand. She said that if I wanted, she could pack it up for me and that I could get a discount. I asked her to change it for an avocado one, and she said she'd check. She sent the waitress, who finally told us they were going to give us a discount and that they were taking it to go, and that they couldn't change anything. The manager never came back. We left with a bad taste in our mouths. We won't be coming back. I'm sending evidence of the dish, which also looks meager. Also, you can see that the silverware is dirty. Besides, they told me they were taking the dish to go when the waiter had already smelled it and the waitress's saliva had gotten on it. It cost me 180 pesos, supposedly with a discount, and they charged me 120. Obviously, I didn't eat it because I might get sick.
I've changed my opinion. Although a few weeks ago the place was nice, spacious, and clean. The waitresses were very efficient, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious, with a nice presentation. I've only been there for breakfast; the machine coffee was good. I don't recommend the coffee from a drip coffee maker. The breakfasts aren't huge, but they are tasty and very well presented. I do recommend them. Don't ask for bottled water; it's better to have it served directly from the pitcher. Now I've returned, and what a disappointment! Everything was chaotic. An Americano took more than 30 minutes to arrive, and breakfast took more than an hour. They're inefficient; they only have one waitress, and it's a disaster—she's completely overwhelmed. It's a shame the owners aren't there and they don't have a manager. Two of the dishes we ordered were sent back because they were completely cold. A latte was cold. The hot chocolate was very bitter. The pastries were stale. Very bad, honestly. What a pity.
