Angel Encabo

A spacious bar and restaurant with a large enclosed terrace. It carries almost all the major newspapers for those who enjoy reading while having breakfast. It aims for a certain level of sophistication, which is reflected in the significantly higher prices. An excellent place for breakfast.

The terrace is enclosed in winter and has a pellet stove. The waiter is very friendly and accommodating. The tapas selection is somewhat limited, and you can't choose what you order. A beer costs €2.90.

The terrace is undoubtedly the best thing about it. Winter or summer. But it's always packed, and no matter how much the waiters work hard, the service is minimal. The prices have always been and still are exorbitant. An ideal place to watch a football match, but it's faced a lot of competition from nearby bars. We've gone from always going to watch football to not going back for two years. It's a familiar place with a well-off owner. For example: we spent over €200 in one afternoon. When paying, the waitress made a mistake, and without knowing it, she left a drink unpaid for. We went back two weeks later, and the owner was waiting for us, receipt in hand, to claim it. It's his duty, as it's our obligation, of course. But this lack of tact is a sign of tiredness.

It could be much better. There were five of us, and they barely served us anything other than crisps as an appetizer. We asked for something else, and they ignored us. Then we ordered another round, and after waiting for more than five minutes (even though it wasn't very busy), they still hadn't brought it. So we asked for the bill and left. It had been recommended to us, but apparently, today wasn't their day.

Personally, the pancakes weren't bad. The look could be improved, but the taste was good. But I was shocked when they showed us the bill for three juices, one coffee, and some pancakes... a whopping €18.50. Believe me, not even at the Ritz would a breakfast cost me what it cost me here.

They don't have social distancing; I've had to change tables several times, sometimes because they weren't clean and sometimes because there were bird droppings on the seats; the tapas are terrible, with some olives for a special beer I ordered; two televisions, each with a different program, horrible; just one and no more.

It was expensive; the large pitcher was €4.80 and the small beer/pitcher was just under €3. The tapa they served my friends was a canapé (a small piece of bread with a slice of cured meat on top). We, who arrived shortly after the four of them, took more than 10-15 minutes to be served and another 10-15 minutes to get our beers, and they didn't even bring us those little canapés. We don't recommend it because of the price, the tapas, or the service. None of the six of us will be going back.

Today I saw something I'd never seen before. They placed a potato snack they'd left uneaten on the counter, heated it in the microwave, and then handed it to me. Out of politeness, I didn't say anything, but it was a dirty trick and it shouldn't happen again.
