I recently stayed at the Tommy Bahama resort over a long weekend. The first night of my stay, I had dinner at Grapefruit Basil. I ordered the Angus Short Rib, and it was amazing! They were running very behind that night so it took a while to get our food. For the inconvenience we were given a free dessert, and were given a 20% off coupon. We were very happy with how they handled the mishap from dinner, so we decided to go back the next day for brunch. That was incredible too! I highly recommend the brioche bananas foster french toast, and the huevos rancheros. All of the service staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful and we absolutely loved dining outside. We enjoyed the food and experience so much, we ate there every day of our trip. I live out of state and will miss this restaurant! I would absolutely dine there again for either brunch or dinner if I ever am back in Indian Wells.
A really well appointed restaurant in the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort. Dining inside, on the patio, or at tables in the olive grove, the ambiance couldn't be better. Drinks are well crafted and unique. I very much enjoyed the New Fashioned, and my wife liked the Sanguina Spritz. The Dungeness Crab Cake Benedict was full of fresh crab meat and the hollandaise was on point. The Huevos Rancheros had a great warmth and earthiness firm the chili de arbol and was served on a crisp tortilla. Our server, Wendy, was informative and attentive. Visited the bar at happy hour and the service was exceptional. I wanted the Island Empress, but not as sweet so they modified the drink to suit my taste. My wife had their signature Grapefruit Basil. Both were delicious. We also had the poblano quesadilla and the halibut tacos and would recommend them both.
This restaurant was on the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort and Spa property where we stayed for a weekend girls trip. Grapefruit Basil was our go-to stop to grab brunch and a cocktail. We also did dinner here one night. The food was delicious and creatively presented. Especially liked their rendition of a traditional blue fin poke bowl. They had a good selection of local and imported wines, our group mostly tried the reds. They also had a selection of cocktails and zero proof drinks, which we enjoyed with brunch and they didn't skimp on the alcohol in their namesake cocktail. The side salads were delicate with arugula served with a light garlic oil dressing. We also enjoyed their dinner menu with the highlights being the macadamia crusted halibut and the beet salad. The ambience is upscale and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable about their offerings. Recommend this place if you're in the Palm Springs or Indian Wells area.
We had dinner at Grapefruit Basil last night and loved it! We sat outside under the olive trees — such a beautiful and relaxing setup. The live music made the whole atmosphere even better, and time just flew by. Service was a bit on the slower side, as others have mentioned, but it didn’t bother us at all since the portions were generous and we enjoyed having a little break between courses. Chelsea was our server and she was great — super nice, attentive, and checked in a few times to make sure we were happy. The food was delicious and well cooked, and the desserts were big enough to share. Highly recommend making a reservation if you’re going on a weekend since it gets busy. Overall, a great experience — we’ll definitely be back!
🍊🌱We had a wonderful breakfast at Grapefruit Basil ~such a charming spot with a bright, inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you in a good mood. The place feels fresh and modern, yet cozy enough to enjoy a slow, relaxing morning. The food was absolutely delicious! The eggs Benedict were perfectly prepared ~poached eggs just right, rich and velvety hollandaise sauce, and everything beautifully presented. Each dish felt thoughtful and made with care, using high-quality, fresh ingredients. We also loved the coffee and the refreshing balance of flavors in every bite. The staff were kind and attentive, making the whole experience warm and welcoming. It’s truly one of those places that makes breakfast feel special. A perfect start to the day ~we’ll definitely be coming back! ☀️🍳🥐
Lovely lounge in the Tommy Bahama resort, cocktails and food were delicious, especially the winter salad. Great service from Jiovanni, glad I stopped by after a nearby conference.
Stayed at Tommy Bahama Miramonte over the weekend and booked a dinner at Grapefruit Basil, and OMGGGGG it did not disappoint. The ambience is beautiful, so peaceful and calming. There was also a live electric guitar player serenading at the bar area which added a nice touch. Was so exited about the menu and everything we ordered was savory and delicious! We ordered the clams to start and the roasted olives - both were so good. The lobster chowder was to die for. And the halibut is a must - so flavorful! Your taste buds will thank you. We ended the night with the the decadent lemon meringue and it was just perfect. Service was attentive, warm and hospitable. Servers always came by to check on us. When we come out to Palm Springs, we will be stopping by Grapefruit Basil again…thank you for an unforgettable dining experience. P.S, we also got breakfast & got the pancakes, french toast and roasted potatoes were all superb - came with all the fixings! :)
We spent nearly a week at the Tommy Bahama resort, and had breakfast each morning in Grapefruit Basil. Lots of new staff being trained, as the resort picks up steam. Our server, Josie, met us on her first day and was so friendly and sweet during our stay! Everything was delicious, but stand outs were definitely the classic eggs Benedict, the fig and arugula appetizer, the tostada, and the burger. We especially appreciated the small but tasty list of non-alcoholic cocktails. So many restaurants only offer water or soda to those of us that choose to forgo alcohol for one reason or another!

Great food and exceptional guest service. Try the lobster bisque. It's amazing.

Loved everything here! I got the Thai salad with shrimp. My husband got the burger and the best double fried fries. The basil signature drink was tasty. The lemon meringue dessert was perfect. There were hardly any diners so service was fantastic.
Had a nice experience at Grapefruit Basil tonight in the Tommy Bahama hotel. The restaurant is brand new and beautiful inside. We ate in the bar area since the main dining room was fully booked and thought both the food and service were solid. The hummus dish was awesome!
Beautiful surroundings with an option for indoor and outdoor seating. Server Wendy was fantastic and helped me have an allergy friendly meal. Pleasant atmosphere and experience. Lovely clean setting. Fresh and flavourful food with nice presentation. Grapefruit Brûlée was delightful!
We had a delicious brunch at Grapefruit Basil which is located inside the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort. Friends invited us to join them there for lunch but the pool and resort looked so beautiful, we’ll have to return and plan to stay there the next tine we come to the Indian Wells Tennis tournament!
I’ve been here 4-5 times since Nov. Whether it’s the Lobster chowder, the Thai noodle salad, the halibut tacos, the chicken or the filet mignon - the food is consistently delicious; cooked and prepared with care and precision. Very well balanced. Beautifully lit mature olive trees and lots of Fire and Water elements in the garden. Our server tonight Elijah was friendly & professional.
Besides that my Lox-O-Meter redlined with delight at the Lox on Flatbread "light fare" (delish), there is more to review here. All the staff here are first class. I could have sworn I left a blazer and valuables, which when I couldn't find them, I reported them to the restaurant and police as stolen. I was so sure. And I made a small ruckus to get the manager's attention. EVERYONE I spoke to then graciously accepted my embarrassed apology when I found the blazer behind the driver seat of my small car (I had no memory of leaving with the coat and would never have thought to look there when I got out). My dining pals told me I left with it. Indeed I did. Besides wonderful staff, check out the worthwhile menu.
The food here is craveable with everything I had across my stay being absolutely delicious. For breakfast they have a fun mix of sweet and savory. Some of the dishes were really unique like the Loco Moco but they had the classics too. My favorite lunch item was the chicken sandwich that had avocado and roasted jalapenos. All of the food was extremely well composed - the culinary team is doing a great job of balancing fat, acidity, sweet, and salty flavors! Can't wait to eat here again!
I was surprised by how good the service was. They checked in on us regularly and made sure that we had all we need both times we went there. The food was pretty good, perhaps a little expensive, but what do you expect in a resort? Certainly the food was much better than the restaurant across the street! Plus you can eat outside, when it's cold you can sit by the fire outside - there are lots of little places where fire is artificially made so you can sit around the warmth with your friends. And you can play bocce during, before or after your meal.

Fantastic food and service. Halibut was excellent as was the ribeye. Generous portions for appetizers. We had Jovan as a server and he was great. We’ll definitely be back!
We stayed with Tommy Bahama hotel and this looks like a decent brunch option on a Sunday morning. So we decided to give a try by brining the family and friend here. We ordered Three eggs omelette and the Dungeness crab cake Benedict. Both are very delicious and coming with great presentation! The only thing to nitpick is the speed of service. It took us forever to be seated while the resultant was half empty, and then took forever to order drink and food, and finally took long for the food to be one the table. I felt in totally we waited a good 30-45 mins to start the meal. Maybe because there was a wedding on the same weekend but still felt restaurant needs to be well staffed for any weekend.
We came here back in August. Food not only looked divine it taste just as good as it was presented. This is the hotel restaurant, but don't let that talk you out of giving it a try. Everyone in my party were more than pleased with their dishes and we had plenty of space at our table and never felt rushed. We were there for Breakfast. The server answered our questions and delivered our food promptly. Respectfully Reviewed.

We were a large group and most of the party weren't completely satisfied with the food. Service was phenomenal and atmosphere was very pleasant. I ordered the Moco Loco and it was very good. Others on the party's responses varied from meh to bad.
If we could give this place 0 stars for service we would. I am not sure if they were having a bad day, but food and drinks took over an hour to arrive, they forgot our appetizer and spilled coffee. It was not busy. On top of that, there was an automatic 20% gratuity included. The food was good, but not worth the wait. Save your time and go elsewhere.
Had dinner for four. Were totally ignored for several minutes after arriving. Placed our orders. Asked for a Modelo beer. Several minutes later, a bottle arrived. Asked for a glass. Again several minutes passed and I again asked. Waiter brought an old water glass, not a beer stein. Our food was far below expectations! I ordered Surf & Turf which was on their Special Menu. Steak was OK, lobster was terrible!! Along with poor food & service, we won’t be back. Terrible waste of money!!
I stayed at this property for an end of the year vacation with my girlfriend, and as I'm typing this, I'm waiting for my brunch to come out. It's 12:40pm on 12/31/25 and the weather is gloomy and sprinkling outside. The restaurant is about 1/3 full and not busy at all. I see about 2 hostesses in the front and about 5-6 servers on the hall. We ordered one breakfast plate menu and another lunch menu that's a salad with a steak. It's already been 30+ mins and other tables are also waiting on their food. Going back to yesterday for lunch, we waited about 75 mins for our food to come out. Their explanation was a kitchen staff member had to go to the hospital which slowed the service. Many people were pissed and some left because they were waiting too long and hungry. They were giving out free beer/house wine coupons and some were offered 25% off (which we did) but even then, the staff were just very not apologetic and rude in a way. They need to retrain their staff to be more courteous and friendly. Food was good though.
We've been to Grapefruit Basil multiple times and always had a great experience, but this visit was the worst dining experience we've ever had at any restaurant. Our food took over an hour, and we watched other tables, who were seated after us, get their meals and finish up while we were still waiting. We ordered three burgers, an ahi appetizer to start, and crab Benedict. When the food finally came out, two of the burgers were well done (we ordered them medium-rare), and our son’s burger didn’t even arrive at all! They didn’t even notice until we pointed it out. We waited another 15 minutes for his burger, by which time everyone else had finished eating and he hadn't even started. The ahi appetizer was also brought out with the main courses, which was awkward. It was especially frustrating because this was on Father’s Day, and my mother-in-law was visiting from Hawaii. To top it off, when we got our son’s burger to go, it was overcooked as well. He didn’t even bother to eat it. It seemed like the server may have forgotten to enter our order or missed the burger entirely. Her explanation was that the bar got busy, but that doesn’t add up—other tables who arrived after us were fully served and finished before our food even came. A more honest explanation would have been appreciated.

Our friends brought us and it was embarrassing how poor the service was. There were 6 of us and two people were served their entrees before the rest of us got our salads and apps. Our meals arrived 30+ minutes later. Made for very uncomfortable evening. The wait staff never checked in and when they did she used very argumentative language with our hostess that the service was not bad. Finally she asked, “was it worth the wait?” The manager tried to rally at the end but also was not good. Because we were a party of 6 the bill included a tip of approximately $100 we could not adjust. Incredibly poor experience for everyone.
