The place is nice and not noisy. We ordered the 12 oz New York Steaks, one with garlic mashed potatoes and one with baked potato. The steaks were tender and cooked as ordered. Good flavor. The service was great, very attentive, but not annoying. Was seated quickly and water glasses were filled promptly. Was able to browse the menu and order was taken quickly. The price is a little spendy, but it was a special occasion and it was worth it. I would definitely come back.

We got an amazing dinner and cocktails 🍹 overlooking the sunset . Staff was attentive and nice. If I had any suggestions for the business, it would be to upgrade their restrooms, so they can match the great venue and experience.

Great food and atmosphere. The gentle rocking motion just added to the experience. The food was really good. They have a nice salad bar or a soup option for your meal. Danny, our waiter, was a wonderful source of information on the dishes and was very attentive without being overburdening. Yes there's an early bird meal option but the full menu was available. The pace of the meal was just about perfect for us, we didn't feel rushed or feel like we were waiting a long time between courses. The steaks look great, the seafood was wonderful and dessert is decadent. I do recommend planning on spending 1-2 hours for the dining experience. Finally, I STRONGLY recommend a reservation to avoid waiting, as the restaurant does seem to get really busy as the day goes on. There's more I could say but go for yourself and enjoy.

Wow wow, we went there yesterday night to finish off our vacation and let’s just say it was outstanding. Service was phenomenal. We ordered the calamari as a starter which was delicious. The salad bar was outstanding. As main we got the salmon which was delightful, the scallops which were delicious and the Halibut which was my favorite personally. As dessert we got the creme brulee. Everything was outstanding and the views are breathtaking. And the drinks are delicious as well. The only thing I can say is all the food was warm and not piping hot. I am someone who likes her food hot and all the plates we ordered were not hot they were warm. But aside from that, we will hopefully be back when we come back our next vacation.

This place said everything once's you set foot inside and was worth the hype, clam chowder was the best one've the best I tasted. The steak was delicious and so were the loaded mash. Overall I would revisit the wonderful place.

Wow!! This was a wonderful birthday dinner! First off, our table included a happy birthday sign and confetti! Then we had an amazing hostest (shout out to Angelina) and our waiter, Danny, was so pleasant and helpful. This was our first time visiting so of course it took us a while to decide what to get and we had a few questions about the wine and salad bar. Danny was very patient, helpful and had a very friendly attitude. We had two amazing appetizers, followed by salad bar (well tended to, and so many options), and two phenomenal entrees! Highly recommend the filet mignon and lobster, it was incredible! The atmosphere at this restaurant was one of a kind, too. A floating restaurant, beautiful views, moody lighting, delicious food and exceptional service - It doesn't get much better than that! We WILL be coming back here in the future ❤️ I recommend a reservation.

Definitely call ahead for reservations. The staff was very friendly and made our anniversary special. The restaurant itself was extremely clean and well lit. Excellent food with perfect portions, a little expensive but well worth it. I would highly recommend it for special occasions and day nights.

I made dinner reservations for my 50th birthday. Wow! What an amazing experience! The atmosphere was relaxing and charming. The Christmas decorations were magical. The food was fantastic, and the service was great. Our table was set up with birthday wishes and decorations, making it just that much more special. I would love to return someday soon.

My recent dining experience at *The Cedars Floating* was a delightful mix of ambiance, service, and food. The location, perched right on the lake, offers stunning water views that create a serene and scenic dining atmosphere. It's a perfect spot for anyone who enjoys dining by the water. Our waitress, Kayla, was a standout. She was not only fun and engaging but also incredibly efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations for both wine and cocktails were spot on, and the selection of drinks was impressive. For the main course, the steak and lobster were absolutely perfect—cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. We did, however, experience a slight inconsistency with the halibut dishes. While one was perfectly cooked, the other was a bit overcooked, which detracted from an otherwise great meal. Despite this small hiccup, the overall experience was fantastic, thanks to the excellent service and unbeatable lakeside ambiance.

11/10! Highly recommend and for what we got prices were reasonable! Healthy portions and the prime was one of the best I've had in years! Great salad bar.

Cedars turned the date night with my wife into a priceless experience. Megan was our waitress and immediately became our friend!! I can't say enough about the entire crew!!!! Great salad bar and jalapeño mango spritzer!!! The Pesto Flatbread appizer is packed with flavors and could have been my meal. The Peppercorn New York Steak was hands down the best steak I have EVER eaten!!! The only negative I have is on myself for not going to Cedars sooner. We will be back soon!!!

Really a fun place. Service was a little slow, but they were really busy. I had a huckleberry martini. It was really good. Expensive but good. 12 bucks for 3 ounces of vodka is a bit ridiculous but it was tasty. My brother bragged up the salad bar but I was unimpressed. Our server was amazing and all the kids that helped were nice as well. Spent 130 bucks for 3 to eat.

This is a must-do when in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Visit Cedar's Floating Restaurant. Fantastic view of the lake. Great food, the minu has just enough items not to give you too much to choose from. $$$ so don't forget to bring the dough. The clam chowder over the salad, you can get salad anywhere.

What a fabulous restaurant! Amazing food and terrific service, on top of a great view of the lake. A short walk down the dock to the floating restaurant with almost 360° views of the lake. When we entered we could feel a small amount of rocking; however, once seated it wasn’t noticeable at all. Take a moment to read about this unique building on their website. We started with the fried calamari with two dipping sauces, which was delicious. My husband had the salad bar with his entree, which was fresh and had numerous topping options. I chose the house-made clam chowder, which was filled with potatoes and clam meat. This was served with fresh baked bread. My husband had the Biergarten Filet with sautéed mushrooms and the loaded Idaho baked potato. His filet was tender and mouthwatering. I had the Fried Chicken and it was spectacular. The chicken was moist, tender, and perfectly fried, sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy. And top it off, was this amazing maple honey chipotle sauce—out of this world! Portions were plentiful, so we took home leftovers. Even though we were stuffed, we shared a small Mile High Mud Pie. The chocolate and caramel with the espresso ice cream was yummy! We look forward to coming back here in the future!

I stopped by here with the family on a road trip to Glacier. Cedar's was great! This is really a floating restaurant. The building sways back and forth subtly, but you can also tell by looking up at the lights and fans. I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was legit! The overall meal was really good! I highly recommend this place!

We absolutely loved this spot. It has such a great view of the lake and the service is excellent!! Everything we ordered was fantastic and made for tasty leftovers the next day since the salad bar really filled us up!! Would recommend!

Very nice restaurant near the marina. Great lake and mountain views from the windows. Great selection of food to choose from, appetizers, entrées, and sides. Kind of pricey but worth it - service was excellent and so was the prime rib. I'm not sure if they require a reservation, but I strongly recommend you call the day before so you can get the time slot you want.

Tonight we had the absolute pleasure of dining for our 29th anniversary here, and what an amazing experience it was. Highly recommend, thank you for making this evening so wonderful.

Was going to have almost a 1.5 hour wait for a table, so we sat at the "bar". The bar had dining height chairs, and the bar itself was sunk into the floor! Score #1 immediate seating. Everything was excellent! Staff, food, drinks, dessert 🍨, atmosphere! All is it...

Came for the first time with the in laws for belated mother's day dinner. The place was packed for a Wednesday night. We called ahead and reserved a table in advance. Service was great, attentive staffs. We were really surprised at the portion size, I think their prime rib can feed 2 people. We ordered: smoked trout, clam, salmon risotto, prime rib, scallops, creme brulee and flour less cake. Out of all the food, we were not a fan of risotto due to the fact that it was too creamy for our taste and the flour less cake was too dense. Overall, great food, great scenery and great service. Will definitely come back!

📣 Great table with amazing lake views 🌄 made the wonderful service and cocktails🍻 memorable before supper. Tremendous 🥗salad bar! Great Prime Rib value here. We also enjoyed a robust 🦐 Shrimp Scampi meal leaving us very full & delighted. Left pleased after desert & fresh coffee.☕️

Nice place to visit. Try to get a nice spot with a good view. Tried their Garlic Rosemary Chicken Alfredo, it was very good, one of the better ones compare to other restaurants. Prices and environment is similar to Beverly’s in CDA resort, I prefer Beverly’s more but my wife prefers Cedars. That’s how similar they are. Would visit it again. Visited Cedars again today for our anniversary and this time we got a perfect spot outside by the water. Amazing view and fresh air with the floating movements just like you’re on a boat :) Today I tried a chef’s special Copper Salmon and my wife tried their New York steak, both were done just right, loved both of the dishes. Oh and make sure to order desert, Mud Pie Espresso Ice Cream, so good. Totally recommend this same experience for any anniversary.

Wonderful floating restaurant, but we didn't feel it rocking. They sat us at a table for four wth a direct view of the lake. The food was some of the best I've eaten; I had the filet (cooked rare) and I almost didn't need a knife. Simply a great restaurant.

It was our first visit to Cedars and it was more than we expected. Very nice atmosphere and some people were dressed casually others more formally. It was busy and a little noisy with the sounds of people having fun. We each had a cocktail I had the Key Lime Pie martini my husband had the margarita. Both were good. Dinners come with clam Chowder or trip to salad bar. I went with the Chowder which was thick and creamy (very good) my husband made a trip to the salad bar. Basic items nothing out of the ordinary but very fresh items. I had Lobster tails, yes instead of steak & lobster I had 2 tails which were excellent with a Idaho baked potato. My husband had the scallops that came on a bed of mashed potatoes. He said they were very good. To top dinner off we shared what they call a mile high pie. Very good. We enjoyed ourselves very much and look forward to going back.

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary at Cedars. It didn't disappoint. Waitress Jaime was on it, never had to wait for her, she stopped by frequently to ask if we needed anything and she was rather fun. Also the young women who stayed on top of our water and cleaning off our table was very sweet and served us with a smile. Had a great evening, the food was awesome.

Went there Saturday right when they opened without a reservation, but we got in with about a 7 minute wait. I definitely recommend a reservation if you plan to go. Excellent service. We had the clams as an appetizer. They were good but nothing really special. I had the prime rib with loaded baked potato, and it was absolutely fantastic! So tender, flavorful, and perfectly medium rare. The potato was perfectly cooked as well, and so was the asparagus. My boyfriend had the seafood risotto with a lobster tail, and both were excellent as well. The view was lovely and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I really enjoyed the salad bar. There were lots of choices to make yourself the perfect salad.

Last night, my wife and I attended Cedars Floating Restaurant for the second time together. Both of our times there together were nothing short of amazing. Last night (more like afternoon), we arrived about thirty minutes before our scheduled reservation so we could have a drink in the bar. It was nice because we were able to look out and see all the activity on the water during the busy Fourth of July weekend. I ordered a berry colada and my wife had a huckleberry daiquiri. Once seated, I ordered the 14oz Prime Rib and my better half got the Center Cut 8oz Sirloin with a side of peppercorn sauce. After we ordered, we worked our way up to their world famous salad bar. We scarfed down the salads and then our meal arrived. As expected, both plates were delicious and filling. I highly recommend ordering the baked potato with all the fixings as your side. You won’t regret it! If you have the chance to eat at Cedar’s, you won’t be disappointed. Great staff, awesome views, and delicious food! 5 stars!

Really cool place. Sitting on the water at a windows seat was super special. We were also celebrating my wife's birthday and they went the extra mile to make sure we were doing good and at the end of the night they gave her complimentary ice cream. Food was fantastic, speeding and filling! Loved this place will 100% be back

Both Service and dinner were exceptional! We love overlooking the lake and watching the wildlife and boats while eating. My husband and I enjoyed the salmon and my friends got the halibut and jerk shrimp. I was too full to try theirs but they said they were delicious. The dinner rolls are excellent too! We also really like the salad bar. The highlight of our meal was the Mile High Mud Pie!

We went to this wonderful restaurant on 1-26-26. Had a 330pm reservation (opening) and were promptly seated. Started with the crab cake appetizer which was delicious. The wife had a perfectly cooked NY strip with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had a perfectly cooked ribeye with loaded baked potato and vegetables. We both choose the incredible house made clam chowder. The service was outstanding from all the staff. Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience. We will definitely be coming back. We can't wait to hear from the young couple we got the gift card for on how their dinner with out the kids went.

We ate here on New Year's Eve. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the items on the menu (we have dairy and egg allergies). The food and service was excellent and right before we got up to leave, our waitress let us know that if we stayed another 5 minutes we would be able to watch the fireworks. It was beautiful and memorable. Our kids also loved it!

We tried the crab cakes, calamari, coconut prawns, and flatbreads. While the food was decent, it didn’t quite stand out. The view, however, was stunning, and the service was attentive and friendly. They have heated outdoor seating area which makes the experience even better.

Got the whole family to go out to eat. Very accommodating restaurant. We were a party of 7. We went early evening. Everyone loved the salad bar. Great waitress. Wonderful food. All around a great experience at such a beautiful restaurant

Cool location for a dinner being able to sit on the lake. As always, the service for a Hagadone owned place was solid. I had the ribeye and my wife had the salmon. Wasn’t anything overly special but the desserts were pretty tasty.

Update: We came again for our 7 year wedding anniversary. That's review enough! ;) Everything about our visit was great! It was an absolutely beautiful place to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary! (20+ years together) As you can see by the pictures, the food looks & WAS delicious! And the view from our table... and the entire area, in general, was spectacular! It is expensive. Well, depending on what you get. It was $217 for the 2 of us, including tip. But it was DEFINITELY worth celebrating our anniversary here! It's a must try, if you haven't already. We will definitely be back. :) Oh. We don't recommend the Pesto flatbread. It definitely needs some adjusting. Neither of us cared for it. But, to each their own. ;)

C
Chelsey C.

We ordered the Peppercorn New York Steak & the Center Cut Steak. Both steaks were cooked the way we wanted (medium rare) and delicious. The sides that came with were veggies & baked potato which were about average in flavor compared to other places but not bad. We thought our salad bar plates we made was the best! We also ordered the flat bread with pesto appetizer and although good, it wasn't my favorite for an appetizer. Overall, we did enjoy the meal & atmosphere but we didn't think the food was up to par with the prices. We did conclude that the steaks & atmosphere are DEFINITELY a WAY BETTER choice than Texas Roadhouse!!!

Oh my gosh, I've never been here before and I've lived here 10 years. It seems like it's a very well-kept secret by the locals. It was wonderful. The only thing that kept then from getting five stars was it was so crowded and so noisy we couldn't hear each other. But nothing to do with them their service, their food, salad bar was wonderful and so we're their desserts! It was a delightful experience and I can't wait to go back. Make sure you have reservations for Friday night though.

I would describe this place as serving 2 star food in a 5 star location. The clam chowder was pretty good, creamy, thick with a very slight hint of pepper though I think it could have benefitted with a bit more pepper. The Peppercorn New York Strip was cooked between medium and medium rare which is good to me. The texture of the steak was odd. It was very soft instead of having the typical chew of a strip. The flavour was really mild. The mashed potatoes it was served with had cold spots (refrigerator cold) and I could stick a fork in them and move them around the plate as a single unit. The gravy had a real sweet component, which was off-putting. The asparagus was slightly overcooked but was nicely seasoned and still quite good. The shrimp were nicely cooked. Their fried chicken was bad. It had no flavor at all. The cornbread under it was decent. It was served with similar mashed potatoes to the strip steak though they were warmer. I suspect they may come pre-prepared and heated in the restaurant.

T
Tami Price

Last few times we have been disappointed. Crab cakes were crumbly, I couldn't pick them up with the fork. My cosmo was over the top to strong. My husband had the salmon and it was just ok. I feel that this restaurant is over priced and you are paying only for the location. Sorry Cedars you are no longer our favorite restaurant.

B
Bill Jenkins

Not a good experience. Food took forever to arrive, the food temperature was very unsatisfactory once it did arrive, the waiter was needlessly rude and their policies indescribably strange (you can't get your salad bar trip after the main dish arrives?). It's a place you go if you want to be seen at an expensive restaurant, not a place you go if you want good food and service. Quite disappointing for the price. Nice views of the lake and hills though!

T

Came here for my Wife's birthday, reserved the week prior. Arrived and needed to wait 40 minutes as they didn't have a table ready for us. I appreciate the card on the table though the flower petals were a bit odd considering it was a birthday. The appetizers were decent and the food was average+, salad bar was truly nothing special. We ordered cocktails but were weak and one was incredibly sweet that we didn't drink more than a sip but were still charged. The waitress was friendly and the view was nice. Overall not impressed, no plans to return. Pros: +Generally friendly staff +Nice views on the water +Certain menu items taste decent (apps) Cons: -Well overpriced, even for location -Long wait despite reservation -Paid for an item that tasted awful despite comment

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for 50 plus years. At least once a year for anniversary and maybe a birthday too. It’s gone through many changes. The food is now triple the price and not up to the standards it once was. We took my sister for her birthday and had the scallops. They were not seared right very mushy. Mashed potatoes had big chunks not creamy and extremely salty. The whole plate had way too much salt. Even the asparagus had a dingy color. Not bright green like normal. They use to serve great sourdough or sweet brown bread years past. Now it’s some kind of cheap doughy biscuit you’d get at a greasy cafe. I know the prices had to go up but why did the quality have to go so so far down? The salad bar which they WERE FAMOUS for having the best was so disappointing. Hardly anything in it anymore. It use to have broccoli, potato salad, Mac salad, pickled mushrooms, and edible flowers, peaches and so much more. We will definitely be looking for a different place to go in the future. The only good thing was our server. He was great.

H
Heatherluvs

Seafood risotto was cold. The salmon in the risotto was undercooked, cold and raw. Two people at our table ordered the risotto and it was as cold and undercooked for both. Both of us sent it back and the new dish came back with salmon still cold and raw. Even the server looked and said it looked gross and raw. Our meals were not comped. It was my birthday and it took 20 minutes for them to bring out my one scoop of birthday ice cream. Not a great experience. This is usually our go to place for special occasions. Rethinking that now, unfortunately.
