Sushi boat was great! Sushi rolls tasted fresh. Tempura was amazing!

Good Japanese restaurant found in JapanTown. The food was fresh to boot. I enjoyed my sushi ( tuna, crab, salmon roll). A good food selection from the menu. This is a place where whatever you order will be good.

I really enjoyed their vegan ramen, probably one of the best that I’ve tasted in the US! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are quite high in my opinion for a bowl of noodles, but the quality of the broth and vegetables are great so I think it’s worth the price. Vegan ramen was $15, other ramen were similar prices.

Lovely sushi! Great variety, kids asked for more. Wonderful dragon roll and a very special mango spicy tuna roll! We recommend

Came here after work didn't have to wait and had a lot of choice to pick from hot and cold! Wide varieties to choose from had katsu donburi, unagi donburi, chicken karage and mixed 2 shrimp and veggies tempura yum

We ordered the hamachi, sake, salmon lover roll, and unagi lover roll. All were delicious! Everything tasted so fresh, and the fish just melted in your mouth. There is complementary miso soup and salad on the house. Proportions were quite large. If I could come again, I would order from their sashimi which gives you the biggest bang for your buck. I would recommend coming here!

Good service and food, flaming dragon has extra-ordinary taste flavor. They treat guest as we are the family.

Beef teriyaki bento box. So good !! They have the most insane rice, idk - tastes so good , makes the California roll taste even more insane. Delicious delicious.

Had a really great meal experience! The food is delightful and fresh. I also love that the rolls are smaller, making them much easier to eat. Most sushi places try to make larger rolls to satisfy us fat Americans, but these are much more appropriately sized. They also have fresh quail egg, which makes me very happy!

People can dine in, the place is small only 4 tables available inside. People can sit outdoor too. The bento box around$20.00 and it's really good.

Some comments mention poor service, I would say you get what you pay for. I’m happy to pay less for the meal and for less service to be provided (maybe it’s because I’m a tourist and if anything am not used to the over friendliness of wait staff here). The staff was not rude, but just don’t expect “welcome how are you/any questions about the menu/any allergies/how are you finding everything/would you like to order any more food” etc. Very reasonable lunch prices <$20, lots of combination options with some requiring extra $1-3 add-on. Generous slices of very fresh tasty fish! Quickly seated. Went on a weekday lunchtime - quite quiet at 12:30pm but half full by 1pm.

Vey fresh and no unnecessary ingredients. So good. We had 3 different rolls, seaweed salad and nigiri. Would definitely recommend.

I've been here twice and the food has been amazing both times. The fish is incredibly soft and fresh. The service is also fantastic; they are friendly and brought out the food quickly. This time I ordered a Bento box. I loved the variety of items. Every single item on my plate was super delicious.

I’ve been to kippu once before when taking a day outing for a class field trip and the dish that really made an impression on me was their bowl of ramen noodles along with a small bowl of miso soup which was delicious. Definitely a must try. I definitely enjoyed it, hope to go back again.

Good Ramen I tried the Tonkotsu. They dont have extra toppings on the menu but if you ask they can add them. For the price is a good size soup.

Good sushi with fast service and kind people working. I didn’t love the sushi I got, but I think that’s partly my fault for getting the dill Salmon roll. It’s a bit too boring for my taste.

Great little cozy Japanese spot with a Sushi bar as well as regular meeting. Had the terryaki and vegetarian bento boxes here both of which were great! Be prepared for a lot of food, these are American sized bento boxes. If you're vegetarian, the tofu is great and comes with a tasty sauce!

Great sushi, and dinner came with soup and salad. I had the daily special, 5 pieces of nigiri sushi with a California roll. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful and service was prompt on a Friday night.

The restaurant was intimate, cozy, and clean. The food was fresh and the portions were plentiful. The salad and miso soup was very fresh and tasty. My friends ordered Ramen which was favorful and filling. I ordered sushi which was fresh and plentiful. They were sold out of the spicy seafood ramen so I was unable to get it. The tempura was fresh, crispy, and tasty. Overall, I was very happy 🤗.

Went here a while ago and got the tonkatsu ramen and salmon roll. The ramen was good but lacked a bit in its broth and toppings. It came with chasu, bamboo shoots, and an egg. Unfortunately the egg was overcooked rather than jammy as I was hoping for. The chasu was also overly charred and a bit tough to chew through. The salmon roll was good and well presented.

Food was pretty good and service was very fast. I agree with others that the staff seem very rushed and it made us feel rushed too. Prices for sushi was a bit much for how much you get, but it is very tasty. We got the California roll, tempura roll, and the Kippu roll.

🔰The service was fast and efficient. 🔰They are observing the "new normal". As of now, they don't have a dine in experience. 🔰You can place your order online or thru doordash and uber eats. 🔰The food was very delicious. I had their dragon roll and it was amazing! It had a Crunchy tempura inside and that sweet and salty flavour of unagi on top😍 🔰I had a to-go order. The dish was packed nicely.

The teriyaki chicken bento with tempura shrimp was yummy. The chicken was cooked just right, and the tempura was crunch and crispy. Good job, guys.

Closes at 2pm for lunch. I suggest the restaurant staff let customers know before or while seating them, including that customers need to vacate the premises by 2pm because they “lock up and go home” at that time.

First time here and had a very pleasant experience with great food. My wife and I ordered ordered their chicken teriyaki bento box and tempura udon. Both were excellent. The chicken was grilled to perfection and the tempura broth was really good. Portions are on the large size. Pricing is on par with the area. Park at the Japan Town parking lot. Service was first rate. Immediately were seated and didn't have to wait long to order. Interesting interior, modern with an anime theme. Great place for family and friends. Will come back again to try the rolls. They look really good.

Very good service; the staff were welcoming and attentive. The Katsu-don is soft and the broth and vegetables are well seasoned without being too soggy and salty. The miso is also not salty. The California roll is average, and the spider roll was ok.

Passing though J-town and dropped in for some food. Food was good. Convenient location. The staff was nice enough but the elder lady just seemed to rush us along too much. We didn't enjoy that. The tea, also wasn't very hot. Thought that was weird.

Got a bento box. Was not bad. Would’ve been a great deal if it was $5 cheaper. But the salmon had a good sauce, sashimi was nice and thick. California roll was done well, and overall the experience was nice. Service was good as well and no wait. Would recommend if you need a solid back up restaurant

Again, too many options to choose from in Japantown, but we finally settled on this place to have our dinner. Fortunately there was no wait time when we arrived, although it did start getting busy by the time we left. We shared a Sushi Combination order, consisting of 9 pieces of nigiri, all of which were delicious. I settled with the Katsu Don, which served a generous portion of fried pork and egg over rice. While my friend ordered the Nabeyaki Udon, my favorite feature was the broth, which gave off lots of umami flavor. Although a delicious meal, with the service being both attentive and welcoming at first, we didn't appreciate feeling rushed out. As I mentioned before, it started getting busy by the time we left, to which it felt like the owner himself was rushing us out, even spilling some soy sauce (almost on my friend) on our table as he haphazardly cleared our plates. Again, that was not very appreciated, although good food, the service needs to be worked on.

The service was meh...so-so. They were very concerned that we knew they would be closing so they could take their break...which is cool, but they were breaking 30 mins before the posted time. HOWEVER! The vegetable tempura was amazing!! It was a very light batter and you could really taste the vegetables. Best I've had!

Do NOT order rolls! We laughed at how ridiculously frugal this place is with "specialty rolls." It looks like they laid 3 pieces of sashimi long way across our entire specialty roll that costs $16+. Each roll has a little sashimi "hat" about 3/4 of an inch, compared to a whole piece of sashimi wrapped around the roll. Look at my photos... It's really bad. The photos all over the restaurant look nothing like what they serve to customers. Bentos were fine, nothing amazing especially due to the poor experience with the rolls.

Servers are amazing, food is good. The schedule in google has to be updated because they close at 2pm and they rush people to go out. We didn’t know they were kicking us out asking so many times to leave.

We went for two bento boxes. I have rarely seen a customer service so clearly uninterested, jaded and obviously disgusted by every single customer that comes in. Drop the bento so that half the sauce splashed. Not just us btw, she took away the plate from other table while they were not finished and they were not happy. Imagine how their kitchen look like with this low level of quality and how they despise the customers. Avoid even if you're starving.

Dis recommendation for this terrible place! not arrive! Let's start with the worst service. The cashier/waitress threw the dish on the table and splashed sauce on us. She didn't apologize. When we had a complaint she made faces at us and called us stupid to our faces. I have never seen such horrible service in my life. Not worth even one dollar! And end with the fact that the food was disgusting! Too salty and they did not agree to change the dish. A huge diss recommendation. Do yourself a favor and go to any other restaurant nearby.

The female staffers were wonderful. We had a boat so there was a lot of sushi to get through. We had food left on the table and we were still finishing up and then the manager (I think he was the manager) yelled at us asking us to finish and leave and that he had guests waiting. We were shocked to respond. Then he comes back and yells at us again. There were no guests waiting and there were 3-4 empty tables. It was so embarrassing for us since the entire restaurant was looking. It was truly shocking to be yelled at in this way. If he had just asked us - we would have happily obliged but truly disappointed. We were hosting a guest from out of town and it ruined the entire experience.

Wish i could give 0 point. Ordered unagi don but it was dried up and had way too many bones. Also got us wrong drinks. We let the waiter know but he came and started yelling at us and jerking his hand as if he wants to punch me. I told him to stop swinging your hand like that but he started yelling like a maniac saying what do you want. We wanted to leave but he wanted the full payment. I told him we will not pay for the food we didnt eat but again he started yelling. Food quality and service was terrible

M
Mingxuan Xu

30min after we got served, the waiter (middle aged Asian male) came multiple times and asked us to leave. We barely finished the food and was asked to pay. He said “are you done? A lot of people waiting”. If 30min is too long for you, you may as well just set a hard rule of finishing in 30min. People waiting for a table outside is not a reason to ask people to leave when they are still eating. Super rude, not recommended if you don’t want to get yelled at.

COCKROACHES AT THIS FAKE JAPANESE PLACE! 3.1 STARS ON YELP. AVOID! 1. Pest Infestation: my friends and I clearly saw two live cockroaches running under my table. This indicates a serious and unacceptable level of filth. 2. Gross Hygiene: we witnessed staff sneezing directly at the food being prepared. Absolutely disgusting! It's a clear public health violation. 3. EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE: Staff and owner were rude and unprofessional, adding insult to the overall terrible experience. They give you 2 minutes to order before they start rolling their eyes. They don't bring out plates and water unless you order a drink from the menu. They give you the check 15 minutes after you eat. THEY RUSH YOU to pay so they can sit new customers. See the lowest reviews, I'm not the only being scammed. That's why they always seem empty, even on the weekends. I sometimes walk by and see that they only have 2 people sitting inside while there's a line outside the real Japanese restaurants around them. 4. They're Koreans but they try to advertise the place as an authentic Japanese. They're not Japanese, in case you're looking for authenticity. The seafood quality here is extremely bad. Worst sushi/noodle you'll ever eat, with an attitude from a "beachy" waitress (see photos)! She literally yelled and sighed at us for not ordering after 2'. 3.1 is their rating on Yelp. Do not eat here unless you want to be bullied! The management & staff shows a total disregard for basic cleanliness and customer safety. This place is a severe health hazard and must be avoided. My experience was absolutely appalling. Already reported this establishment to the FDA (I know this place will try to claim that I've never been there, but I'm not lying, see the photos).

Do not go here!!! I stopped by for an impromptu dinner when I was in the area and was left very disappointed. I should've known better when I stepped in and most tables were empty... This turned out to be a very bad omen of things to come. First, the food was very mediocre. Clearly the sushi is not authentic and the ingredients are not fresh. I also had some soba which was a big disappointment. The noodles were clearly coming from a freezer and the taste is very bland. Second, the staff did not provide water and looked angry thoughout the service. I did not feel welcome. To top it off, despite having so many empty tables, we felt very rushed by the staff. They kept pushing us to order within seconds of us sitting down, while we're still reading their 10 page menu... And then, while we were still eating, with 5 pieces of sushi left, they already brought the bill asking us to pay. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place at all costs.

We were looking for a quick and nice place to eat and stumbled across this place seemed nice at first. Sat down and the waitresses seemed rude and eager to get us on our way. I was parched from the day and just wanted water, once I finished they didn't refill it once and when I tried to ask they'd walk away quickly not even asking if we need anything else. I was hoping to get tamari and they wouldn't even glance over our way for me to ask anything. My salmon skin roll was very mushy and not crispy at all, very disappointing. They dropped the check off right when we got our food, leaving us no time to get more food if we wanted. All in all a very awful experience. End low quality food.

Came for food, left annoyed and uncomfortable. AVOID. As others stated, the management and staff can be extremely rude and pushy. Do not come here within a 30min - 1 hour before closing otherwise you will be harassed to pay them and leave a minute after receiving your food. I paid a second visit here last Friday. First time was an extremely busy holiday weekend and I was pressured to pay after having my meal dropped off. I visited with 2 friends who were visiting the Bay area and looking to get dinner, one of whom only landed at SFO an hour earlier! We dropped in at 8:30 pm. Our mistake. They close at 9, and you’d think if they were not ok with us sitting in, they could have just said that and we would have been fine. No, they allowed us to sit. One friend immediately went to the bathroom and not even did we get 1 min to look at the menu did the server come and ask “You ready to order??” And we said “No we are not..our friend is still in the restroom” and the server let us know we are the last to order because they leave at 9. We finally got to order and got the food quickly. As soon as the food was dropped at the table, again, the check soon followed. I didnt sign immediately because I was trying to eat and the manager came over to tell me to sign the check. There was banging and noise from staff making their way out before the restaurant closed. We felt as though they would have locked us in. Honestly the food and atmosphere were unmemorable since my experience was so sour. They shouldn’t accept patrons after a certain time if they plan to kick people out. Do not come here.
