So many pleasantly surprising things here. The covered patio area was charming and comfy. The pancakes have such a delicious smell. The staff was all amazing and TBH the patrons were cool as well. The parrots were funny out back, too. Definitely go back again😍. Thank you Hullabaloo!
The staff is incredibly friendly in the atmosphere is something you have to experience. This is just a cool place. On our most recent visit my food was very average but most of the time I've been here was excellent. I docked a star from the atmosphere because there was a loud live singer which was a little much for a Sunday breakfast. Overall, this is a place I'll go to again and again. I definitely recommend it. You won't regret it.
I first came here in 2014 and the diner was packed. Traditional diner experience with incredibly great food. Went back last weekend and the food was just as wonderful as I remembered, although a diner should have real coffee mugs, and not disposable cups. It now feels like a strange combination of fast food aspects mixed with diner vibes, which is a little confusing. They said the original diner part is only open on game day weekends, so we were lucky. I still love this place and highly recommend it! It's unique, the people who work there so friendly, And the food is amazing! (just please get some real mugs for the actual diner :))
Hullabaloo Diner is truly the best spot for great vibes in College Station, Texas. It's such a unique place, and the food is absolutely incredible! They've been featured on the Food Network twice, making it an iconic destination—plus, movies have been filmed here. The diner is home to two talking parrots that provide endless entertainment. There’s also a bar, and every Sunday morning, a live singer performs who is simply fantastic. It's a perfect place to bring the whole family!
We ate here at the recommendation of our oldest daughter and we were not disappointed! All of the staff were so nice, and the food is exactly like you would get at your grandmother's house. It's a great atmosphere and fantastic over all experience! We enjoyed every bite! Lastly, this place will actually have "real butter" which is something I appreciate. 😊 Of course we will be back!
Loved this place! WARNING: food portions are TEXAS size.. huge! But everything we tried was soooo good. Their house made chorizo and sausage was delicious. The vibe is so cool and chill...decoration is so authentic... would definitely recommend stopping by to get brunch if you're in the area.
Prompt and very friendly service. The barbeque scramble with peppers, onions, smoked sausage, potatos, grits and eggs was delicous. The bisquits & gravy with eggs and hashbrowns was also very good. The staff came over to ensure that we were enjoying our meal. The operation was efficient: grab a menu, order and pay at the register, get a number and then pick a table. We sat outside in front. The staff promptly brought our food to our table. Next time I think we'll try one of the tables in the back. There is plenty of parking, and the location right off of Wellborn is very convenient. The antique diner and rustic style provide a very pleasant ambiance.
Cute little gem hidden in College Station. Their menu may vary based on which day you visit. You can grab some menus and pick a seat then order at the counter when you’re ready. Welcoming, cozy, casual atmosphere. Awesome food and service! We ordered a skillet today with eggs over easy. Definitely coming back for more. Their iced coffee didn’t taste like pure sugar and milk. With a chocolate-cinnamon taste, the iced coffee has wonderful flavor that still tastes like coffee. We will definitely be back! And don’t forget to say hi to the birds out front!
A very nostalgic vibe and mellow environment! I've heard it's a bit more crowded on the weekend. The philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious and so were the train wreck fries! My husband ordered the meatloaf and wasn't too impressed and neither was I. It was a bit dry and perhaps he should've ordered it with the red sauce? The waitress was super nice! We will definitely be back with our kiddos.
If you're in College Station this is a must stop by if you wake up on a Saturday morning and want to take a trip this is a place to go. This is one of those Diners, drives, and drive-thrus visit. I strongly recommend that when you go, add a few hours so you can relax and enjoy this uniquely perfect place. It's definitely a triple threat fun relaxing and good food.
Never a let down on anything I have gotten breakfast and sandwiches are top noch, burgers and appatizers are awesome. Pizzas are tasty. Get the train wreak with the Buffalo ranch sause and taste pure joy. Worth the wait. Guy definitely had it right. 7/25/2019- still awesome. The BBQ Burger hit the spot. Great people.
i went there craving crispy, flaky fries that i saw in some other review photos, but got these... which was disappointing... but the space is completely cool!!! They have a TON of outside seating, games, and interesting surroundings all over. This would be an amazing place for friends and big groups of people. i was weary about bugs being outside, like spiders, but all i had were a few flies, so u put out a few crumbs for them to go to, but they still can't at my main meal a few times, but, that's normal. the sandwich didn't look like much at first, but turned out to be really good. the bread was well prepared with a slight crunch and still slightly chewy, a great combination! the fries... so disappointing 😆 i didn't finish them.
They were featured on a couple episodes on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri raving about the food. I decided to try it since I've lived just down the road for over 3 years. I'm happy to report it is not overrated. It is a little pricey but I believe it is mostly justified on cost. My wife and I had the Philly Cheesesteak with fries ($12.00 + $3.00 each) and it was all delicious. There is a proper amount of veggies on this sandwich and the steak itself is tender but cooked to perfection. The menu changes all the time so I'm excited to try some of the other items when my sad bank account replenishes. My children had grilled cheeses which made me laugh because this may be considered one of the fanciest places on this side of town. But kids will be kids. They serve you fountain drinks by the can or bottle, so don't expect to quench your thirst here without dropping a few bucks. The service was really nice, at least the lady who helped us was. She was alone in the bar to help around 8-10 people and did a good job. The atmosphere inside has an old homey/rustic feel to it, with a lot of history on the walls.
A little bit off the beaten path but it was a nice Sunday morning drive. The restaurant is quirky and rustic. It’s the type of place where you order at the register and they give you a number and bring the food to your table. We selected this restaurant because 2 of us really wanted omelets, but omelets were not listed as an option on the single page menu on a clipboard they handed us. I ordered huevos rancheros (minus cheese), others ordered a breakfast sandwich and French toast. It’s was good. Nothing amazing. Served in flimsy paper trays with plastic forks, but cooked just liked we ordered so everybody was happy. Since we ate breakfast so late, I had already had coffee so I didn’t get a chance to try it. Maybe they’ll be awake earlier next time as I’m sure we’ll give them another try sometime when we’re in-town on a Sunday morning. (Four stars for limited menu and served in disposable paper trays.)
A nice little diner to socialize and hangout! It can be very confusing when you come in, as not all parts of the diner are open at all times, and every day they have a “special” type of food day (Friday is Pizza), but once you figure out where to get seated and what’s on the menu, everything is cozy and has a nice old fashioned western diner vibe. We had the Key Lime Pie as well, and it was very good (but also very dense and strong flavored, so some may not like it)! The bar is nice but is pretty limited in the drinks they offer (not a full service bar). Service was super nice, and checked on us often. Overall, a really nice experience, and I wish we could’ve explored the entire diner area! We’ll definitely be coming back to try another day.
The quality of food was fairly good. The Elvis Fries didn’t really have the cheese melted on them and were a little cold in the center. Because of that we took them home and heated them up later. They were much better the second time! For the price, the serving size of the cheese curds was a let down - but they did taste good! My s/o said the French toast had too many chocolate chips on it and I agreed- it was too sweet for our liking. These are knit picky comments regarding some of what we tried! This why I still am giving 4 stars. Absolutely go there if you want a good burger or breakfast tacos. 😍 I think they were training the lady that was working the register. The food all came fairly quickly, but I think they need more signage as to where you go to order walking from the entrance into the bar. We kinda wandered around a bit! If you were taking someone on a first date though I would definitely recommend this over some other breakfast/brunch menus in town!
Very busy place on Pizza Night (Fridays). In fact, so loud and noisy that I could barely hear what the person was saying directly across the counter at the register. Corrugated tin walls and ceiling amplifies the loud noise, I'm sure. The cashier told me that all the food you see here under Menu and in the reviews were sold back in the days before Hurricane Harvey, but nothing you see here posted in the Menu pics is sold anymore except beer, pizza, cheese steak sub, and a simple traditional burger. I got the Redneck Philly Cheese Steak sub, and was very disappointed. I only got half the meat you see posted in the pic under Menu. And I always hate chewing gristle, which this sub has too much of. I got only half the meat you would normally get on a cheese steak sub at Jersey Mike's for the same price with no gristle. Obviously loved by the locals in Wellborn, this is definitely not worth the long drive to get here from the enormous selection of eateries across the street from A&M.
