I celebrated my birthday with a fantastic meal, carryout from The Corner Stable in Columbia. Their crab cakes are unbeatable, and the spicy seafood pasta was bursting with flavor! When ever I go, I can't decide what to get, everything is so delicious....
Yes, you too can become their greatest rave customer. We were greeted upon arrival, and our table was ready without a wait. Our server promptly received our drink order and returned quickly to review today's specials. We took her suggestions and enjoyed the appetizer. Our choice selection arrived on well plated platters. There was an abundance of portions, and additional napkins were offered. Do not hesitate or pass on the desert. We have a new special place to share with friends and family.
My family enjoyed an excellent meal at The Corner Stable today. The food was served hot and fresh, and the taste was excellent! My salmon was especially good, and the accompanying rice was perfectly cooked.
Very nice service, our family gathered there this past 11/19th and my cousin proposed to his girlfriend. The servers were very attentive friendly and quick to serve whatever anybody ordered. The food was tasty, specially the appetizers 🫠
This was my first visit when I stopped by for take-out. I was in a hurry so I ended up ordering a shrimp salad sandwich and the blackened chicken cranapple salad. The food was very good and the prices were modest. The service was very friendly and attentive. On my next visit, when I have more time, I plan on trying the crab cake and ribs.
Was in Columbia, MD for a doctors appointment and thought we would give this place a shot for lunch. Was not disappointed. Food was great, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet (granted we were there after the lunch crowd). If we are ever in the area again, would definitely eat here again.
So much food. Ribs were beautiful, fried shrimp were just right and the spicy mule has a great amount of flavor. I was in a medium size group so it took a while to be seated. Our seats were colder since we were next to the window, but not too bad.
We come here on average of once per month and is one of our favorite local places. We love the ribs and crab cakes. Also has a good selection of beer, including local brews.
Omgoodness!!! Everything was Delicious! I had the Bay Club Sandwich! My mouth is watery just thinking of how to describe it.. Crab cake on top of Shrimp salad!!! BACON lettuce and tomato on like THA BEST KAISER ROLL!! AND the Crab Pretzel Appetizer was soooooooo TASTY! And A "SHOWSTOPPER" to take home..soo much Food!! Thank you Sunny and staff for a Clean friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed it. Have not had an opportunity to sit down somewhere since...well you know.. 😏
Great atmosphere, delicious food, great service, and good prices. Philly cheese steak and onion bloom were delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more items. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Mothers Day lunch at Corner Stable in Columbia was excellent The staff and owner are always so friendly and the food was excellent. The Mother’s Day combo consisted of a 6 oz filet which was amazing, shrimp and a crab cake and it did not disappoint. we were a table of 12 and service and meal were excellent highly recommend this location. If you would like a relaxing environment with friendly people and excellent food give them a try
Went for lunch on a Friday, had 1:30 reservations. We were seated quickly and our waitress was excellent! I ordered the crab cake and rib dinner and it did not disappoint! The ribs were fall off the bone tender. I had my sauce on the side. I love their farm fresh string beans as well. The crab cake had plenty of meat, with pieces of lump on top and throughout. I will definitely return.
I’m not sure why this restaurant is only at 4.1, we had the best experience! We’re from Texas for a graduation and just randomly searched for food and didn’t expect anything crazy. But the food…. Omg, it tastes fresh and the seafood is awesome. Best crab cakes I’ve ever had. I had the surf and turf and my family had the showstopper and it was great. Lastly, the service was awesome and April is a wonderful asset to your team. Thank you for welcoming us out-of-town folk and I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Best Fried Chicken ever! We were a table of 4, & "April" was our server, who was absolutely wonderful! She had a great personality; accommodating; helpful; very smart on the menu; & knew how to handle our allergies. (Gluten & Dairy at our table) I usually get their ribs, which are super good! But this time I HAD to try their fried chicken. It was Amazing! A Large bone-in breast. The breading was very tasty. (Watch out KFC & Popeyes!) Baked beans & Slaw were good too. Honorable mentions at our table: Pulled pork sandwich; turkey dinner; & fried shrimp. Thank you April & thank you Corner Stable! We'll be back.
Great service with April as our server. Crab-cakes absolutely delicious I would say even in score with Ponzio’s world famous crab-cakes in New Jersey. We were a table of 4 and everyone loved their food: Blackened seafood scampi, Surf and Turf, cream of crab soup, and Showstopper meals were the other choices from members of the table and we were all very happy with quality and taste. We were from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed everything on the table.
We were there today for lunch. I had a reuben and my wife had a salad. Both were excellent. Our waiter Shawn was fantastic.
I had the brisket sandwich and it was great. Had a party of ten people and the food was outstanding. Looking forward to trying their world famous ribs next time out.
Really enjoyed lunch! Went on recommendation of a neighbor! Food was excellent! Service top notch!
We’ve been coming in regularly for trivia and were a bit disappointed when April stopped working—she always brought such a great energy to the place. We’ve still been coming, but the last couple of weeks she’s been back, and we couldn’t be more pleased! Her service is top-notch, she’s always so pleasant, and truly a joy to be around. Please keep her—she makes the experience that much better!
We come to this restaurant fairly regularly mainly because it close to our church and so we will do lunch here in the afternoon after service Its generally quiet when we get there as they have just opened up, but they can get fairly full as the afternoon wears on. The food is a mix of MD staples, crab cakes and the like, along with more traditional pub/bar foods. Currently it is October and they have their Halloween decorations up which are quite unique. They have a kids menu so our 10 year olds can find foods they like. I had the pot roast, my wife had a fall inspired salad, my son had pizza and my daughter had a crab cake sandwich. All were very good, and the cost is pretty reasonable. The young man serving us (Roy I believe) has waited in us several times and does a fantastic job. We will continue to keep coming here and would encourage others as well!
Lovely experience on Christmas Eve here. Turkey dinner was just what we needed after finishing all our shopping. It was a lot quieter than we expected, but we have only visited the other location before so maybe that plus the holidays made it a different vibe. Meal was fantastic value. Big portions. Service was fine. A successful visit. We'll be back!
The food was very delicious. The mac and cheese was cheesy. The wings were very juicy and tasty.Yes the ribs do fall off the bone!! The bread pudding was very appealing and delicious. I most definitely will be returning for more. The atmosphere was mostly peaceful on a Sunday. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very inviting
Inside is a typical sportsbar. There is a lunch menu as well as the regular fare. Sandwiches were good and better than what you'd expect from a non bbq joint. Service was good and friendly. Prices are average and the value is there.
The crab cake was delicious. I will put it in the top 5 in the state of Maryland. I can't wait to try their ribs. I read a couple of reviews about it and it looks delicious from the pics
Nice restaurant with lots of parking, good menu choices. Indoor/outdoor seating which is a plus for me in the warm weather. Very tasty rib sauce and blackened the way I love them. I was not fond of the cream of crab soup with bits of onions and coffee served in a glass. Friendly atmosphere, warm vibes.
I went there because I had a great time at their Cockeysville MD location. Wasn't as hungry this time so I just ordered a half rack of ribs. They were good but not fall-off-the-bone good! I will give them another try when I can order crab cakes. My guest ordered crab cakes and said they had a lot of filler. The service was great!
Crab Cake special was very good as well service... Fried chicken was a bit dry but tasty. Atmosphere is not the greatest, but not the worst either... Basically no major complaints here!!!
I really wanted a crabcake so I stopped in for lunch. It was my first time at this location. The food and service were both good although the green beans were not to my liking.
Its pretty expensive, but the food is tasty. I got a side salad with chicken and the salad was $12 (+ $5 just to add chicken). I also got the crab dip which was an okay portion.
Super close to a five star rating. The food is fantastic. I highly recommend the crabcake and ribs. The service is kind, but noticeably slow, been here several times now and it's just always like that. It's a laid back place. That's not a bad thing all the time but just be sure you're not in a rush if you're coming in. I do recommend it. Thus far, I've had crab, fish, and ribs, every variety of those items I've had was great. Decent beer selection as well. Very little to complain about.
Our server April was fantastic, atmosphere good but I was terribly disappointed that when I went in they did not have their amazing funnel cake fries. I brought my friend telling him about these fries and had to go home with no funnel cake fries. Bring them back!!
This casual eatery struggled with flavor and the fried chicken was dry. What the food lacked, our server, Joe (Joseph S.), made up for. Joe was friendly, engaged without being intrusive, and clearly took pride in his work. Given the crab soup was respectable, and the menu had a myriad of other offerings besides the fried chicken, I would recommend trying this Columbia staple... and ask for Joe. Cheer!
The crab cakes are very good, but it came out cold. The texas wings are quite flavorful, sweet taste with a kick. It reminded me more of a kansas City barbecue sauce, but regardless, it was very good with the wings that were cooked perfectly. The crab dip is also good but a little too cheesy. The blackened seafood Alfredo spicy, heavy. The cream thickess overpowered the noodles. And it seems only shrimp was in the dish. No crab or scallops. I shouldn't have ordered this, but I'm a sucker for pasta. Sorry for the pictures that are eaten.. I almost forgot to take pics before I started to eat 😅
Immediately get the vibes of a restaurant that has fallen behind on the times. Once they go to establishment in the area, it feels like nothing special today. A party of four, we ordered waters first and then each ordered a beer. Two beers were sent to the back bar and seemed to be forgotten about for at least 15 minutes. During that time we didn’t see our server once so we could question where the beverages were. Finally my Big Truck sour arrived. Three people ordered the rib platters and I ordered the New York strip. The ribs looked in smelled good and I heard no complaints. The New York strip could have used a bit more color on the outside from the grill. My broccoli was mushy and tasted bland like it was hot out of the microwave. I asked for green beans as well but got fries instead. Kind of glad I got the fries because I am expecting the green beans would have been mushy as well. The steak was cooked to my liking, and it was relatively tender. The saving grace of the meal. I would probably never go back though. I’ve been the worst places, there are far better ones to enjoy in the area as well.
I ordered the spare rib dinner and the crab cake sandwich. The crab cake had several pieces of lump crab meat on the top and about 3 to 5 pieces inside. The rest was a dry filler of what seemed to be a half box of breadcrumbs. I have been a resident of Columbia for over 40 years, and a patron of the stable for years. I’ve had many enjoyable meals over the years. However, this was a horrible experience and for the price a total disappointment.
Meh. We were seating in the bar. Well, not at the high top, but at the tiny booths next to the bar. Flashing before us were the happy hour specials. Also TVs and music. We were not in dining room 2 where a small child repeatedly screamed at a high pitch for attention. Gratefully, we were at the bar. However, we were were not seated at a nice table by a window in dining room 1. Nor were we asked if we wanted to be next to the window. I thought it was strange we were seated in the bar, when the good tables, by the window were open! Fried Corn fritters were good. Fried fish was bland. Pass the salt. French fries were terrible. Bland, hard, stale. I removed them from my plate. Fried shrimp was bland. Rack of ribs were fair. We got the check. My on-tap beer was not at happy hour prices. Why? I asked. The bartender waiting our table said, it was because we were not seated AT the high chairs AT the bar. Lame. Mr. Owner....LAME. 4.1 stars may be too high for this restaurant.
Crab cake is tasty and reasonably priced and it is real crab. The fries were a bit old and chewy. There was no waiting for seating at 1pm on a Wednesday, parking was easy, the dining area was clean and quiet enough for normal conversation.
Requested wings to be fried hard.. they wasn't. Ordered crab cake and shrimp.. crab cake to much filling with no seasoning.. shrimp lightly breaded and rubbery..first .mac & cheese dry.. second Mac & cheese creamy no seasoning and taste like the box with Velveeta sauce. Salad was good.Long Island was great. MIKI service was excellent.. wanted the bread pudding but no thanks I can't be disappointed anymore so I passed.
The service was quick, but the food was edible at best. The fish had an aftertaste, and the tater tots did as well. Fries were alright, but limp. And the cream of crab soup texture was lumpier than it should be.
Recently played Trivia at The Corner Stable Columbia. Six of us ordered dinner and drinks. Five of the orders were wrong. One of my friends said his order was wrong the week before. Server attempted to upcharge the group for included sides. Maybe the server was new, or it was very loud that night. Food is just okay. I'd only go back for Trivia.
I can't say I loved it. The fries didn't taste right and the bacon on the sandwich was tough enough to pull a filling out that it did.
So so disappointing. Several visits now and disappointment continues. We had the rib/crab cake meals. The ribs always tender and tasty. Over the years it seems the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Two plates with fries and one with onion rings. The fries were either undercooked or overcooked. The overcooked ones looked as if they were sitting in oil (dark orange) and hard in places. The waiter said he could order more fries but we deferred. Onion rings hot and crispy! The most disappointing aspect of the meal was the crab cakes. They were mostly filler and one large lump on top and 2-3 other lumps inside. Our entire bottom of the crab cake was filler and the center was a mix of filer and crab. This place use to have great crab cakes in Columbia now it’s below average. We have eaten there 3-4 times over the past 6 months and have not been impressed. We love the Cockeysville location and use to love Columbia location. But something has changed and needs to be corrected.
My waiter Ella was great! Otherwise, I’ve had much better food. Crab cake was dry, wings were too hard and dry. Fries were fried too long. The Madagascar Dessert was delicious!
The service and conversations were great, the food was not. My wife had crab cake, and I had stake. We didn't like either, the sides were good. I was told to try the ribs if I go back, which we may just because the bartender (wish I remembered her name) and staff.
Okay, but pretty blah food - not great! My overall rating is a 2.5 but there is no such option. The best thing I had from this place was the bread pudding - it was decent. Restaurants must learn that if you are going to charge a lot for food, make sure the that food actually tastes good. My shrimp were not blackened shrimp as the menu said, and the server just said, oh sorry about that. Then they had the nerve to charge me $3 extra for bread they brought out. I love lump meat crab cakes and they tout theirs as colossal and jumbo lump crab - it is NOT! The crabcake was about a 1/3 stuffing in Maryland; come on, really. We spent $105 with the tip for an early dinner - would not go back! Get better cooks, who know how to season food. Server seems nice but they were a bit disorganized.
If I could give this restaurant a “no” star I would. The service was horrible the only thing the waiter did was give suggestions on food, after the horrible food came out she never checked how it Was going never offered my mom and I refills on our glass of water and took forever to bring the check. It wasn’t even busy. Needless to say the food was the worst I ever ate. I got a crab cake that was mushy and bready, the ribs were undercooked and soggy, no seasoning on the food including the broccoli, my moms broccoli had several rotten and black pieces(which we showed to the manager and general manager), the cod my mom got was plain no seasoning. Never will I ever eat here again not to mention we both were sick from the food we nibbled on. After requesting the manager of course he apologized and instead of compensating all the food since it all was nasty he took $11 off a $77 bill. I was t comfortable with paying so I asked for him to come back. 25 min later the server comes by like he is in the bathroom. 10 min later the general manager comes over and she was so embarrassed the rotten broccoli alone we handed her. In the end the general manager was the one to take care of the whole bill and that was the least to do. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DO NOT RECOMMEND DO NOT EAT HERE
Ordered the crab cake with cheddar cheese. Not a good menu item. Onion rings and fries were super greasy. I had stomach cramps later on. Service was way under par. Crab meat was undercooked. But the service was the worst. Wait staff forgot part of our order and then acted put out when we requested it and charged extra for items that were included with the dinners. Waiter had greasy hair and was inattentive to our table but very attentive to the table opposite ours.
Have been wanting to try Corner Stable for awhile, finally went for lunch(2:00) and it was terrible. My wife ordered the pit beef chiabatta and it was closer to beef jerky than pit beef. I ordered the fish and chips and the one piece was ok the second piece of fish was raw in the middle. Spoke to the manager and she did nothing. I would avoid this place.
Wouldn't refund for a cancelled order. I called immediately after I realized there was a problem. Was transferred 4 times and spoke to the manager who said he would authorize a refund but never did. I order crab cake dinners from them several times a month for the last couple of years on the toast app. They have lost me as a customer FOREVER. I had to pay for food that I never received. Terrible customer service!!
I ordered food online for delivery, including some sandwiches and a fish meal. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The chicken in the sandwich was dry and tasted old, as if it had been cooked several days ago. The fish portion was extremely small for a main course and was also overcooked. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
