Edit: just came here again after 8 months. I like it. They removed a marinated beef from the menu but that's ok. Still got a ton of stuff on the menu. Here is the deal, for $25.99, you select one out of 5 broths for an individual pot and get all you can eat of different beef, chicken, pork, veggies, crab, shrimp, veggies, tofu, noodles, and even more (too much to list). They come and refill the broth once you start running low. Good service and tasty food. First time we came, we brought little kids which isn't ideal since you want to stay awhile, relax, and eat. This time, they got pawned off at grandparents, good decision. We weren't rushed and had a blast. Total without counting tip was under $80 for two including a bottle of chardonnay.
You usually have a long wait until there's an available table. Awesome food and service. It's located at a mall so you have things to do while you wait.
Shabuya is a great spot for hot pot! The prices are reasonable, and they offer a wide variety of fresh seafood and vegetables in their buffet selection.worth to try
Great food. Buffet style for your veggies, noodles and seafood, all you can eat meat, great selection of broths, fried dumpling appetizers is yum. I really enjoyed my lunch. Basically you get to make your own soup at your table. Perfect if you have picky eaters. Ramen is always loved by the kids. There is normally quite a wait but we got lucky and seated pretty quickly. Busy and noisy. Wait staff is awesome and I can't believe with all those diners how attentive they are.
Great atmosphere and very nice staff. The meat is cut so thinly, expertly done and delicious. We had the tonkatsu and miso broths. Tried every meat. The beef toro was surprising my favorite ! And the pork belly was also up there. Lots of great options at the veggie bar, like shrimp , Ramen, eggs, mushrooms, tofu. Great shabu shabu experience.
Probably one of the best hotpot places I've tried! They even have a seafood bar!! The spicy miso broth was flavorful, meat was top quality (toro was my fav) and fish from the seafood bar was also really good! My server was friendly, prompt and quite amazing! She would always refill meats and drinks as soon as it got low. I think her name was Tracy? her tag was #BBB. A very nice place for date night since its located in an ultra classy shopping plaza w/ multiple high-end food options, a wine bar, ping pong tables, a color-changing fountain, corn hole and even a play structure for the kids! Meat Quality: 5/5 Customer service: 5/5 (#BBB) Price: 5/5 It was only $25.99 for AYCE!!!
Great modern hot-pot restaurant in an excellent location. We went for an all you can eat lunch and the price was decent. Soup broth was not too salty and there was a well-stocked self serve condiment bar in the center of the restaurant. All of the ingredients appeared to be fresh and sanitary.
Came to Shabuya with friends to celebrate our birthdays together, had a wonderful time as we got to enjoy the tasty broth (Tom Yum) The staff was super helpful as it was my friends first time there. The food was delicious, the broth was just spicy enough to feel a kick, wish it was a little spicier but that's just a personal preference.
Favorite hot pot place in the East Bay. Good variety of meat choices and broths. Tons of vegetable, seafood and noodle add-ons. Also love the sauce building variants. Lunch is a steal at $20 per person. The music can get loud sometimes.
I saw this place had a really good rating and decided to give it a try! They offer a wide selection of seafood, hot pot items, veggies, and sauces at the cold bar. You can choose four kinds of meat per round. I went with the Sukiyaki broth, soy-glazed chicken karaage, and four meats to start with, and they were delicious! I have seen a lot of hype about the karage, but it was just ok, I would rather have more meat instead. The meat quality was excellent, thinly sliced, tender, even if you overcook a bit. I especially liked their beef toro, pork belly, and pork shoulder! Highly recommended!
Our family recently visited this hot pot buffet, and it absolutely delivered! Despite the sweltering weather outside, the cool and comfortable indoor setting made for a pleasant dining experience, thanks to strong AC. The highlight, of course, was the food fresh, flavorful, and impressively diverse. The selection of ingredients for the hot pot was extensive, allowing each of us to craft a customized and satisfying meal. A standout appetizer for everyone at our table was the soy-glazed chicken. Perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, it was hands-down a crowd favorite. If you're a fan of hot pot or just looking for a fun and flavorful dining experience, this spot is worth checking out. We’ll definitely be returning!
Definitely show up early! For two, the wait definitely hits 1+ hour on the weekends. Delicious broths, quality meat selection, and tasty fresh vegetables. Good selection of noodles and sauces as well. Excellent value for the price. To get maximum value, focus on meats and sauces and don't fill up on noodles. Rice cakes, tofu, and large veggies will fill you up fast. In either case, it'll still be delicious!
This place is pretty worth it. AYCE, unlimited everything pretty much. Lots of sides and buffet area to put veggies/seafood/carb into your bowl. In my opinion dinner is worth it already, lots of good meat (9 choices) Limit to Eat is 2 hours would love to come back when I am nearby. Only negative side was they gave us plastic forks. Plastic forks on hot boiling broth? I think that is a safety issues.
This is definitely a place to try for the experience and is fun with a group of people. The food is decent, but nothing out of this world again it's the experience. The customer service is great and the meats come out quickly. A great choice for a date night too!
This is my personal favorite restaurant. The food is amazing and has such a great variety of things to try. If you aren't sure what broth you want, that will bring out a sample of all of them so you can choose the one you like. The staff is always very friendly.
Lots of meat selections to choose from. The luncheon special at $20 made this a great deal for our large group.
An affordable, yet delicious AYCE hot pot location in the Bay Area? Say no more! If this statement is enough to entice you to satisfying that hot pot craving of yours, then Shabuya should be the next stop on your list if you're ever in the East Bay Area. Located in Concord, Shabuya offers AYCE at an affordable price of $20.99 for lunch and $29.99 for dinner (which is about a solid $5-10 off the normal price I'm used to seeing of $35+ for AYCE). Don't let the price fool you, the food and quality of Shabuya can rival any other AYCE location I've been to. I visited their Concord location on a Friday night for dinner, arriving around 6pm or so. They do have a waitlist that you can join either on Yelp or when you arrive at the restaurant (luckily they are located in a plaza so if you do join later you can still walk around the area while waiting for your turn). We got lucky, and they were just cleaning up a table as we stepped inside and they told us our wait would be about 5 minutes. After being seated, we were greeted by our server Josi who was an absolute delight throughout the night that I just HAD to give her a shoutout here. Seriously, if Josi is your server you'll be in for a fantastic dining experience as she is not only attentive to her diners, but also an absolute sweetheart to be around. We selected our soup options - miso for me and the house special for my partner (after debating between that one and the tonkatsu option, which Josi steered us towards the house option, thank you again!). We were then informed that we could order up to 2 appetizers per round and 4 plates of meat per round (of note each plate of meet had about 4 slices). Non-alcoholic drinks were refillable, and so I went with their lychee iced tea (which was another one of Josi's recommendations). Just a quick aside, I know the drinks aren't why you'd want to dine here but the lychee iced tea was to die for and I was absolutely delighted that I could get refills on it and enjoyed the drink to my heart's content. For our first round we got their gyoza, soy glazed chicken karage, prime flat iron steak, beef toro, premium rib eye, and prime blade meat. Service was fairly speedy and we were dining on our meat in no time. Other hot pot accompaniments and sauces are self-serve at the salad-bar type of set up in the center of the restaurant. I will say there isn't a whole lot of options, but they do have your standard noodles, vegetables, fish cake, and seafood selections available (which in my opinion is plenty give the price point of this AYCE hot pot place). With all of our food in front of us we dug in and enjoyed our meal to the fullest - the meat was of good quality overall and the entire meal experience was very enjoyable. If you need a go-to AYCE hot pot location in the East Bay, then Shabuya may just be the place for you!
Vegetarians, you can eat here too--but make sure to ask for the VEGETABLE BROTH! Don't assume it's vegetarian just because it says so online. I asked before they poured the broth for my sister-in-law, and thankfully we caught it in time. I personally love the spicy miso broth--it's flavorful and has just the right kick. Heads up: there's a 90-minute time limit, and the ambiance can get loud, making it a little hard to hear your group at times. If you're celebrating a birthday, be ready--they yell out "Happy Birthday" and blast what I'd describe as a "walk-out" hype sound for a good 10 seconds. It's fun but super loud--just a heads up! Also, if you're dining with little ones, it can get pretty cold inside, especially if you're seated under a vent (which is common because of all the steam from the broths). Definitely bring a jacket for the kiddos!
Really enjoyed our first experience at Shabuya! Went on a Saturday evening (raining) and waited about 1hr 15-30mins for a table for 2. This place ALWAYS has a wait so be prepared! Camille was our waitress and she was the best! She explained the process clearly and always checked in on us during our dinner. It’s all you can eat for $30 which is very easy to make the most of in an hour and a half. You get your own hot pot/broth so you don’t need to share with anyone- good for people with particular dietary preferences. We were stuffed! Definitely will be back!
Lunch was reasonably priced at twenty with unlimited veggies/noodles/seafood plus two choices of sliced meat and an appetizer. Four choices of shabu broth. We visited on a Monday and there were watercress, spinach, cabbage, tofu and napa cabbage in veggies section, There were Fresh shrimps and tiny clams. Taste was pretty good for the price. I had the tonkatsu broth with pork belly, pork, and chuckeye beef, all thinly sliced and tasted yummy after cooking in broth. Will definitely return and try every other broth and appetizer.
My go to hot-pot spot. Best AYCE hot pot in East bay. They have Tesla supercharger in the back for all Tesla folks. Park there and grab dinner. There wasn’t any wait at 5pm on Saturday which was perfect. Service was fast and perfect. Good meat quality as always. Will be back!

Great selection of fresh and cooked food. Love how the buffet is spread out with duplicates so there's no crowding. Attentive service. Great price. Our tables were always cleared and waiters constantly checking in. Definitely will come back!

Busy place. No guilt menu. Since this is a buffet, they mandate the following: 1) You cannot enter to ask for a table unless all members in your party are present. No waiting inside because they have no waiting area. We were in the middle of the bomb cyclone system today (Oct 24th, 2021). We had to wait outside while our friend who drove looked for parking. 2) Get ready your covid vaccine card and ID for faster entry. 3) Next stop is someone will check your temperature. 4) After you get to your table and order, only one person per table can go to get seafood and veges in the buffet area. First, you have to sanitize hands and wear gloves (provided) before you get your plate and food. I enjoyed the appetizers and their vegetables and seafood are fresh.
The food was great and the selections were abundant. Staff was helpful and attentive. I went with my family on a Friday night around 5:30. The price is reasonable too. Our meal came out to about $70 for two adults and my 6 yo. I think the only bad part was that some of the meat served had been precut and had stuck or dried to the metal plates on which they serve them. That, and they only serve a small amount of meat per order but that was ok because they were quick and attentive when it was time for more mest.
The food is great! The waiters are very attentive and friendly, but I don't understand why the problem is always the hostesses? Is it a requirement to be classist and racist to be a hostess?
My husband and I really enjoy dining at this restaurant. We often come here to celebrate family birthdays or just to hang out with friends. The prices are quite reasonable, there’s plenty of seating, and the menu offers a good variety of food options. Every time I come, I always forget to bring my Thai-style suki dipping sauce! 😄 The staff can be hit or miss—sometimes very nice and attentive, and other times a bit indifferent—but we still keep coming back even though we live quite far away. The food might not be the absolute best we’ve ever had, but it’s definitely worth the price. Parking can be a bit tough on weekends and holidays, but overall it’s a good experience. Today our server, Kali G, was especially wonderful—very friendly and attentive. She kept checking in to see if we wanted more meat or appetizers. Her great service really made our visit more enjoyable.
My first time having Japanese Hot Pot. It was a great experience. Food and service was good. They explained the ordering process and the use of the side items in the center of restaurant. When we sat they explained that we have an hour and a half to eat which is enough time. Per order you can ask for up to four meat and two appetizers. It was easy reordering and you get the items fairly quickly. In the center island, you can get side items to add into your hot pot. They have different vegetables, noodles and seafood. The Tonkatsu Broth was good. My wife had the Spicy Miso Broth. While she said it was good, it was a little too spicy. For the appetizers, the Soy Glazed Chicken Karaage and Gyoza was really good. The restaurant was not loud and they play a variety of different music genres. For $28.99 (Sunday 1pm lunch), it was a nice experience. They do have weekly lunch price at $19.99 Monday through Friday till 3pm. This restaurant is in the Veranda so bring your patience when looking for parking on weekends.

The quality of the food was not the same as before the pandemic. Music was crazy loud in there. Feel like you went to a bar, not a restaurant. Need to train the waiters more, the waiter at our table did not know what he was doing, we ordered drinks , he forgot. We asked for stuffs, he forgot.
This was good but i wouldn't come back. Very standard buffet vibes. Frozen ingredients, Broth is nothing special, The appetizers are sooo tiny i didn't think they had desserts. What i did like about this place, everyone had their own broth pot to cook in, the drinks were good, a large selection of ingredients. This place gets packed for dinner so try to come on the earlier side
A friend of mine boasted about this place knowing full well that I love hotpots. I have been to many taiwanese hotpots and Chinese hotpots as well as Korean hot pots AYCE but have never gone to a Japanese one. Right off the bat, it was far too inside. It was already a chilly evening and I thought warmth would be awaiting me in Shabuya but was mistaken. I sat down and was introduced to my lovely waitress who showed me the ropes. 5 broth styles, I chose the spicy miso. Several cuts of thinly sliced meats, (beef taro is the best) and 4 appetizer options. 1 fried gyoza the other 3 types of chicken karage. All you can eat as well as a bowl of rice if you wanted. There's also the buffet which had some seafood, veggies, different kinds of tofu and many fisballs of variety. I was disappointed because usually I am a guy that likes to have a lot of fun in places like this but they didn't have a wide selection of fungi. Perhaps it was my being spoiled by other hotpots where I would have multiple types of mushrooms and leafy greens other than just spinach and bakchoy. The food was good but like I said, variety was not so great. There was no lamb. However, I did enjoy myself because I am also an avid meat lover. My favorite by far would be the all you can eat chicken karage. I would go just to eat as much of that fried chicken as possible. The music was much too loud where I couldn't hear my partner speak across the table from me but again, the waitress was a delight. I suggest coming here for yourself. I personally would not come back by choice but I could understand the appeal. Come here and check it out and enjoy the food. Make sure you speak loudly though so you can talk with your friends.

This place has always had a line to get in and finally we made it. On the entrance there were three hosts, and no one could make up their mind were too sit us, stating that outside area is closed for one night. Ricardo R.was the only guy who rescued the service. His pleasant smile saved the day. From the variety of hotpot ingredients, and it's freshness this place barely made it to two stars. Out of lamb and served beef was dried-stuck to the served plate. Salad bar was messy and had a very poor selection. The bar is wide and uncomfortable to reach the food. Low sauce selection with no sesame sauce available. Had only five types of deep-fried appetizers (one dumpling and 4 types of chicken). No deserts on the bar. This was the first and last visit to this place.
I have been a loyal customer of Shabuya for many years and have even recommended it to friends and family. However, our most recent visit was very disappointing. We had been dining for nearly an hour, yet no one came by to clear our dishes. Even as staff members delivered our meat orders, they noticed the buildup of dirty dishes but simply placed the new items on top of them. To make matters worse, the female Hispanic manager approached our table and raised her voice at us, instructing us not to place our dirty dishes on the adjacent table because it was “clean.” This experience was both unpleasant and unprofessional, especially given the level of service we have come to expect from Shabuya.
Had such a terrible service experience today. I have been here a couple times and today I decided to bring my family for the first time. My server passed our table countless times without checking in on us. And on top of that would forget when we would ask for simple things like napkins, etc. During our hour there, our server Sadia B, noticed she was on her phone a lot and her attitude was very disturbing. Was very disappointed with this visit at shabuya. Hope service will get better.
I don’t usually give restaurants bad reviews because of one bad thing. Anyone can have a bad day and I understand that. However, our experience was terrible. Let me also preface this: we are not picky or needy customers. This is why I am very upset with the service we received. At first, the host Menace sounded rude and unpleasant. It was not the mask. It was her attitude. Then our server S. took a long time to have our food ready and even the check while the restaurant was not busy at the time. I could clearly see she was hanging out in the cashier before remembering to get us our check. The time limit is an hour thirty minutes (90 minutes). The moment we paid and stood up ready to go was about an hour. However, the bussers were cleaning up everything as a way to push us out faster. The women bathroom was filthy. The food was okay. I like the soy glazed fried chicken appetizer. The broth was decent in general, nothing’s too special. We love the dipping sauces. I am sorry that I have to write this review to a business in such a nice location. You guys could have done better. I also work in the restaurant industry and I know it is hard to please all customers. I just want to let any readers or the business management know that we are not even picky, needy customers. We order things we want at once, eat and finish on time, never tip under 15% and are willing to tip much more for great service. So this is unacceptable. I will never go back or recommend the place to anyone.
I’m writing to report a disappointing experience during my recent visit to your restaurant. I explained to the staff and the manager that I needed to bring a small portion of French fries for my baby because he currently refuses to eat anything else. Since Shabuya does not offer French fries, there was no way for him to have a meal while the rest of our family was dining. Instead of trying to help us find a solution, the manager was very rude and simply told me to contact corporate, without offering any support or alternatives. As a manager, I would expect her to do something—anything—to help guests enjoy their meal, especially when young children are involved. Her attitude made the situation even more stressful and made us feel unwelcome. As parents, we were just trying to let our baby enjoy food he likes so we could all enjoy dinner together. If we weren’t with my parents, who were excited about eating hot pot and had already waited about an hour to be seated, we would have left. I understand restaurants have policies about outside food, but the lack of flexibility and the dismissive behavior from the manager were very disappointing. I hope your team will review this situation and consider allowing reasonable exceptions for families with young children, as well as providing better customer service training for your staff.
