First time for Thai food. Went out to eat with friends and the whole family found something to enjoy. The Thai tea is sweet and when asked for unsweetened we found out that it was not possible due to how they make it so it was taken off the tab. Service was fast but not pushy and the food was very good with a choice or spiciness so everyone could get it their way.
I had yellow curry with chicken. It was honestly the best curry that I have ever had. I also had the spring rolls, which were really tasty. It is always clean, and the service is very good. We've eaten here 4 times. We are never disappointed.
One of the best thai restaurants we've been to! We were visiting from NJ, and truly enjoyed our dinner. Loved the spice in the green curry and thai basil satueed vegetables 😍👌🏽
Excellent atmosphere, great service, and wonderful food! I had the Pad Thai with Chicken and my husband had the Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp. We both enjoyed our meals as well as the Shrimp Tom Kha cup of soup. Everything was well plated and tasted as good as it looked. We’ll be back the next time we’re in Corning.
We ordered the pad see ew and chicken satay, and everything was SO good. The food also came out in less than five minutes after we ordered!
So..I gave this place another try after a few years...not disappointed and have been back twice since. If you aren't into spice ask for no spice, DO NOT ASK FOR MILD, IT IS STILL HOT! Delicious food, great vegetarian choices.
I had the pleasure of visiting Nine Elephant last Sunday, and I unfortunately left my handbag behind. A few days later, I went back to retrieve it, and to my surprise, the two ladies (I only know one lady’s name is Noi) who helped me, had kept it safe and in perfect condition. I’m so grateful for their kindness and excellent service! Thank you for taking such great care of my belongings. Highly recommend this place!
Very tasty food! I had some Tofu Pad Thai and a taro milk tea! Both were very good. I asked for some spice in the pad Thai and it was perfect. The tofu was seared before being added which was super nice since otherwise the texture probably would have been weird. The taro milk tea was very good. Pretty normal flavor taro the milk was nice 😋
It was Memorial Day and most restaurants it seemed were closed . We stumbled upon Nine Elephants and we were glad we did. We had had Thai food below but this place had Thai food with a more authentic taste we had vegetable dumpling , spring rolls, chicken pad Thai, Thai fried rice with shrimp, lemonade and Thai green tea all so delicious . The portions were huge and the price was moderate . Great place to check out. This would be a great place to check out as there are many other stores on the street for shopping.
Pretty awesome place, good ambience and vibe. The fried rice is flavorful with some char, best fried rice I have had in a long time. The Tom yum and phad thai were authentic and done well. I will definately be coming here again. They are more than just seafood they have a large variety of thai with options of chicken, beef, duck n more.
Delicious Food! Appetizer of Summer Rolls. Chicken pad Thai, and custard with sticky rice for dessert! All of it fantastic!
Very good Thai food i would give more stars if I could. Very nice and clean and very affordable I recommend the drunken noodles and clear soup
I've never had Thai food so this was a first. We met there for Mother's Day meal. I had chicken in peanut sauce with broccoli and rice. It was very good. Servers were attentive and very kind. Nice quiet atmosphere with beautiful scenery on the TV screens.
What an excellent Thai restaurant! Nice menu to choose from, good atmosphere, a decent selection of adult beverages. My wife and I went here on a date night and everything was fabulous! The food was hot and fresh and came quickly, and the presentation was excellent. See pictures. We will definitely come here again!
Beautiful place and amazing, authentic food. My wife is from Thailand, and this is one of the few places that actually make food spicy enough for her tastes. Absolutely recommended, if you want to try real, delicious Thai food.
I love this place. The best authentic Thai food in the twin tiers Area
Alright, I’ll admit it. I did not have high expectations for this restaurant but man, was i proven wrong! The food was genuinely spectacular. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back. We ordered the Chow mein with scallops, chow mein with chicken, pagnang curry with chicken, pad se ew with shrimp & drunken noodles with steak. Everything was phenomenal!!! I genuinely was so amazed by the food as were the rest of my group.
Absolutely fabulous food! Best pad see ew I've had in a very long time. Cannot recommend enough, will definitely be back!
Some of the best Pad Thai that I have had in a while since my month long stint in Asia. Duck was tender.. The food looks like the pictures and tastes great. Clean place, well-done, done well. People with me said the Squid, and all seafood was large, and tender. Great to hear since seafood can be finicky. I will be back when in town.
What a wonderful Thai restaurant. We walked in and asked for their most spicy level of food. The taste as well as the heat were on point. Even as an Indian I was satisfied with the heat (something I don’t get in North America). But it wasn’t just the heat but the taste that truly mattered. So much so that I went to eat here on back to back nights despite staying in Corning for only two nights. The staff were respectful and I liked the nice Asian restaurant atmosphere.
Really great place. I was there the night of the parade of lights. The past 2 years I've been to different restaurants to eat and both were crazy busy and not enjoyable because it was so packed. This year we decided to try Nine Elephants and it was amazing. We were seated immediately, super friendly staff, our drinks and food came pretty quickly too and everything tasted incredible!! I'll definitely be back!!
The food is the best in Corning. The presentation is wonderful. The staff are friendly. And the food is prepared quickly. I had the yellow curry today, their curries are great, but I have to recommend the Thai Basil Sauce as my favorite. It is SO flavorful, hitting ALL the right notes. You won't be disappointed. Be conservative on your heat selection, they don't hold back.
Great little place, seems smaller on the outside. Inside is much more spacious than you would think. Very polite, friendly, and attentive staff. Food was delicious, cooked just right and served hot. Very good selection of meals so I'm sure there is something to fit everyone's taste. If I'm in the area again I will definitely be stopping by to get a bite to eat.
We found this gem traveling through the NY Southern Tier. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon and were glad we did. The food and service was excellent. I had the Pad Kee Ew and my wife and Masseman curry. Both were perfect.
Reminds me of my best friend's mom's cooking who is Thai. I had the massaman curry in mild, which had amazing flavor and just slight tinge of spice, perfect for my inability to handle heat. My boyfriend had the drunken noodles in medium (definitely Thai medium, for people like me that are sensitive to heat that would be at the top of the scale). Drunken noodles had fresh basil and herb taste, which made it taste lighter than it looks. As appetizer we had a papaya salad in mild, which usually at other restaurants is bland when I order it mild, but this was packed full of flavor...taste like they are using a higher quality fish sauce. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant, I would order every week. We will definitely come back our next road trip!
This was an amazing experience! We love thai food and heard good reviews of this place. The place is quite nice and the food they serve is beyond amazing! We ordered cajun fries, Chicken Pad thai and Chicken drunken fried rice. All the items were freshly made, hot and delicious. But I would highly recommend the Drunken fried rice. It was mind blowing! Safe to say, this was by far our best thai food experience. All the items were nicely priced and the staff were very friendly. They didn't have parking, but plenty of street parking was available. If you're in the Corning area and wanna try thai, give this place a go. You won't be disappointed!
Super nice on the inside. Many vegan options, things are labeled well and there are multiple plant proteins. The food came out fast and was very good and a good price.
Great experience! You don't want to miss this gem. Great service and food. Very satisfied and helped us enjoy our Corning experience as we are out of towners.
Absolutely love it here and all the local "elephant" chains. The food is always incredible, and they really know how balance spice and taste. Just be warned that the spice they add is powerful and can really catch you off guard if you're an amateur like me. Regardless, no matter what you get you'll be satisfied. My go to for lunch is Pad Thai with Beef and dinner is any Hot Pot with seafood. Filling, adorable and unique.
Very good Thai food. I had a Panang curry with tofu (quite spicy) and Sticky rice with mango slices served at the same time. The curry's heat was wonderfully balanced by the sweet coconut cream of the rice and slightly tangy mango. Other dishes in our party included Fried rice with chicken and Masaman curry. The latter was delicious and very mild, my choice next time!
A pleasant surprise after a long day at the Museum. Had to wait for a bit, but once we were seated, the service was super fast. Very nice food, authentic Thai condiments, veggies, meat and fish. This is a “must” visit place for anyone who digs Thai food.
Came here on a whim cuz we didn’t know what to eat for dinner. But I am glad that we did. Seated right away as it wasn’t busy. Wifey always orders one thing from Thai - pad see ew (sometimes with beef sometimes with shrimp). This time with shrimp. I got the fried wontons and thai iced coffee. Food came out quickly. Less than 10 minutes and everything was delish. The fried wontons were lightly fried so no heavy oily taste. And shrimp filling was tasty. I wish the wontons were bigger lol. The pad see ew was tasty as well. I will admit that the sauce tasted different than what we are normally accustomed to back in NYC. But it was still great. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and not tough. The noodles were soft as well. Been craving a Thai iced coffee and finally got it here. Very good.
It is a wonderful nice restaurant in Corning. We were looking for a Thai place to eat and came across this one. We must say that this place did not disappoint us. We ordered Crab Rangoon, drunken fried rice, chow mein and green curry. We ordered it spicy and despite of very well received warning that it could become spicy we decided to try it. Oh boy, spicy means spicy, the food was really good and I would def recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood. 04/14/25 We will love to visit this place during our next visit.
Thai Nine Elephant is a must-visit! The papaya salad strikes the perfect balance of tangy and spicy, with a freshness that wakes up your taste buds. The seafood tom yum is a showstopper, delivering bold, aromatic flavors with just the right kick of heat. And don’t miss the drunken noodles with tofu—rich, savory, and packed with wok-charred goodness. Each dish feels like a celebration of Thai culinary artistry. A delightful spot for both Thai food enthusiasts and adventurous diners!
We enjoyed our late lunch with our full family and friends. Keep it up with this level of service. We ordered dumplings and shrimp curry both were really good. We ordered noodles and drunken noodles that were good to. It is in a convenient location if you are visiting the Corning Glass museum. Looking forward to visit again...soon.
Excellent. Lovely atmosphere. Great selection of food including some unique upscale options such as Lobster Pad Thai. Food taste was very good. Ordered medium spice level which for Asian taste was quite weak so thankfully they brought us picked Thai chilies which were the perfect addition. A great little gem in the town of Corning.
We got beef salad, tom kha, seafood pad thai(not in picture) and fried spring rolls. Beef salad needs a little bit more of a flavor. The rest are all good. Seafood pad thai is the best so far, must try. Prices are mid range. Ambience is nice. Place is clean. Its very had to find parking since its street parking.
Typical Thai restaurant. It was great for Asian food after several days of pizza and hamburger, and bbq options on the road. Food came out fast and it was good. Portion was normal size as well as pricing. We came for an early dinner and it got busy a little after we started getting our food. Would come again if I'm in the area.
Service and Flavor Hit-or-Miss at Nine Elephants in Corning, NY Our visit to Nine Elephants in Corning started with frustrating service—we waited several minutes unacknowledged at the door, a pattern we saw repeated for others. However, the meal began on a high note! The steamed dumplings were truly incredible, probably the best I've ever had, and the ginger honey tea was excellent. This had us excited for the main dishes. Unfortunately, the main courses were a huge letdown. They lacked flavor, serving as mere "belly filler" without any of the satisfying taste we'd hoped for. The Verdict: While the initial service is slow and the main dishes disappoint, those spectacular dumplings are worth talking about.
Good but not great. The server warned us that "hot" was really hot but it's what we usually order at Thai restaurants. All the flavor of the Panang curry and drunken noodles was overpowered by the spiciness. Should have e ordered mild or medium. Not a lot of protein in the lunch special either. Very small bowl of broth and small salad.
It's a decent place. I tried drunken noodles, and some curries from this place. The taste is okay. I felt the prices were high compared to other Thai places around. I recommend visiting this place if you don't have any other choice.
Aggressively ordinary. I got panang curry beef. Curry was tasty enough but very thin/watery, with beef that had clearly not even been finished in the sauce. Veggies seemed to include frozen peas and carrots, from the suspiciously even cubing of the carrots. Definitely overpriced for what I got. On the other hand, the fresh roll was very nice.
So so place I stopped by this restaurant on the way back home from Niagara. My father in law who came from overseas only wanted to have Asian food since he is not familiar with western food. I found this restaurant from Google review but it was not what I expected. Food was way too sweet. Foods were prepared properly but I think chef loves sugar. Foods would have been better if he or she didn't use sugar too much
We went to this place on the labor day weekend. Ambience is good but the service is not. We asked for vegetarian food and mentioned not to add oyster sauce to the waitress. When I restated not to add any ouster sauce nor meat, she got annoyed and showed her face. Also, the food didn’t taste good at all. They add 18% gratuity by default for 4 people which is way too much. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Food was terrible. Everything is too sweet. Beef is rough as bubble gum. And service was bad beyond belief. Avoid. Not worth the trouble
We ordered scallop curry and it was so bad! Smells stinky and fishy! I never had such bad experience before. I went to this restaurant because of the rate is high. I don’t know where it out. My experience is the waitress are very dry and cold. Not pour the water just put a gar of water on the table without saying a single word. But they finally give a smile face when I asked for my bill. Anyway, I gave 18% tips for lunch. It is absolutely a bad restaurant with bad service.
I was gonna leave this alone, but I had to be reminded of how bad this experience was. I went here with my girlfriend for the 4th time this year. We ordered two entrees with one and two peppers respectively on a 5 pepper scale. My girlfriend asked for the one pepper and expressed that she doesn’t like spice. Her food was very spicy. It was pretty spicy for me and I enjoy genuinely hot food. We told our waitress it’s too hot for one pepper and she just said there’s nothing she can do other than bring more rice to tone down the heat. Ultimately, after not being satisfied with the offer of rice she spoke to the manager and they said that they could take 50% of the entree off the order if we get another order. Since I like hot food, I just conceded and took her food for the half off price and bought her the dish with 0 spice. She ate a little and we boxed it up. We got home and nestled in the rice was a long grey and black hair. Obviously my girlfriend refused to eat the rest so I wasted even more money than I should have had to. It’s not worth losing customers to refuse remaking someone’s food it’s a joke. Wild Ginger is much better, it’s a shame we didn’t go there.
⭐️ Very Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended We had a terrible experience at Nine Elephants Thai Restaurant in Corning, NY. The staff were very rude and unprofessional. They do not accept phone reservations, and when we called to check, the lady on the phone spoke rudely and abruptly hung up. When we arrived in person, we informed them that we were a group of 11, including 4 kids. After waiting for 25 minutes, the staff told us a table was ready. However, when we entered, the table was only set for 8 people. When we asked about seating for the rest of our group, the staff rudely told us to wait another 1 to 1.5 hours and then walked away. No one seemed willing to listen or help, and we were even told, “If you don’t want to wait, you can leave.” We finally decided to go to Wild Ginger, another Thai restaurant just 5 minutes away on the same street, and we were so glad we did — their food was amazing, and the staff were very courteous and welcoming. I do not recommend Nine Elephants Corning NY, especially if you’re visiting with a larger group or expect respectful service. Such rude behavior is unacceptable.
Been going here for years and always been a huge fan of this place. Came in here to get phad thai for my wife and I and was disgusted with what we got. Tasted only of fish sauce, had no garnishes but the excessive fish sauce made it inedible, it’s sad to see the quality and standard of food so low for a place that once was great. Go elsewhere and spend your hard earned money on quality food, not food that is rushed and has no care behind the dish!
Ordered drunken fried rice spicy with chilli paste on the side for takeout. Beware of the spice level you are requesting as this was not edible at all. I can handle spicy but this dish was not even equal parts chilli paste and rice. It was more chilli paste and chilli oil than the rice itself. Cant eat beyond couple of spoons! I called to check if they accidentally mixed the chilli paste but looks like this is what hot means! I should have known the spice level better!
Food safety issue! Please read! I really hate to leave a review like this. We had an online order from beyond menu. Had both the drunken noodles and the fried rice. Have invoices. We actually got a cricket in our food. I was really hoping it was something that somehow ended up after the food was picked up. But there were small pieces of scrambled eggs stuck into it ao definitely something happened while cooking. I tried to contact them over their website but its been two weeks and no response. We were 4 who bought this as a pickup order, we traveled there for labor day long weekend. I just wish the restaurant made it right somehow.
I was born and raised in Corning NY. We began going to the Nine Elephants restaurant during Covid because they had outside seating. Our first experience was to say the least "outstanding". The food was as authentic as can be and the waitress was even better. My wife and I and our two sons started going back about once a month but over time we noticed the food became very inconsistent to the point where we took about a year off without going back. A month ago we had a celebration so we decided to go back to Nine Elephants. Our waitress recognized us, brought us our drinks without asking what we wanted, even to the point of bringing me my normal extra wedges of limes. My wife ordered her normal drunken noodles and my son and I ordered the pad thai. The first thing we noticed when we got our food was the each dish was sitting in a pool of sauce. Typically these two dishes have the sauce to just coat the noodles. Long story short, the food was terrible. My wife found a BONE in her chicken and instead of using normal hot chilles, they used the red Asian hot oil. It was inedible. Finally my son found a large piece of "GLASS" in his Pad Thai. I went back to the restaurant to show and speak with the manager, but he wasn't there. The waitress took down my name and phone number and said she would have the owner give me a call as we live locally. I never received the phone call. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Very sad!
Stay away, the order was for a fried rice with spice level one lower than the max, and thus what they made. This is no way edible, extremely hot. Their response is that this is hot per their standards. I guess they want to make what they want to eat, and not what their customers want. So if you want to experience what the owner of the restaurant like, go at your own risk!
