Hank's Mexican Food

Food was exceptional and huge serving of tacos and burritos. They have high chairs, so my son was easily content with sitting and waiting. The food was fast and yummy. Green sauce was spicy and full of flavor that paired well with my Asada tacos. Will back. Hank's is a must try 👌

This was a random find and didn't have any expectations but it also has very good reviews. I got the taco plate with the beef as I recall. Will definitely come back. It was very affordable and very tasteful. Definitely well seasoned and cooked just right.

Service was pretty quick around lunch hour. I tried the chicken burrito. The chicken was shredded and not marinated too thick as many Mexican restaurants overdo. I enjoyed the burrito. It was a good burrito for $5.75. I was charged $0.75 for using my debit card. Which is high. So try and bring cash. Will visit again.

I ordered the shredded beef crispy taco and it was off the chart. the staff there was so nice. It was my first time there and they made me feel as if I was coming there for years. I wish I lived in the area to come back again. If I'm eve in the ares I will be back. Such great food.

LOVE this plave! They make the best crispy burritos. And they don't skimp on the fixings or load it up with too much filler...whatever meat (or non-meat) option you pick, you will be happy with the amount and flavor. A bit more expensive than scone other similar places, but the portions and flavor make it more than worth the few extra bucks you'll spend for your meal!!

The crispy shredded beef tacos keep us coming back. The green chile beef burrito, machaca are also great.

No glamor just great food. Counter service only. A few tables inside and out. Restroom available with a $15 min tab. Their hot salsa (red) is excellent and can be purchased in take home quantity. Our family favorite is the carnitas burrito. It can be upgraded with rice & beans. Have never ordered anything that was disliked. Opens early for breakfast.

I've been eating at Hank's for years! It's small, family owned, and one of my favorite places to go for Mexican food. Although they have a few tables to eat there, I usually do take out. Their cheese enchiladas with mole sauce is my favorite! All their salsa, hot sauce, guacamole and chips are made fresh! The food is Awesome!!!!

Best breakfast burritos in Costa Mesa! I order the number 7 with bacon. It's literally perfection with their GREEN SALSA!!! The owner is such a sweet lady! She's always wearing a smile. We just moved to Costa Mesa, and have been back 5 times!!! 🙈🙈🙈

This place is off the chain. We're on vacation and stopped in. One of the the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. You have to try the shredded beef crispy taco. You will be in heaven. The staff was fast and treated us like family.

I have been going to Hanks for 20 years. There food is fresh and priced fairly.the service is excellent with generations of family owned business. Thank you Hanks the salsa is great too!

Very tasty salad. Bean and cheese burrito wad great. Green salsa had just right amount of hotness. I had a dad named Hank (RIP). I am sure he would have liked this place very much.

I always like places who use hash brown potatoes, and that is what this place uses, so that is a huge plus for me. The burrito was bigger than most places and the refried beans were very good. My wife ordered an egg, potato and cheese burrito and she loved it. Plenty of ingredients. If you're looking for a great breakfast burrito, this is the place.

Sure the location will open up by someone willing to take a chance. Until then my last review. Breakfast burritos and more. Everything is good here. No mistakes. Hours are limited. Get tuned in and be a regular.

Even when I moved to South county I still came once a week. Now that I’ve been back in the CM for 8 years it’s several times a week. This closing at 5pm is hard on me. I get off work no earlier then 5pm and will have a crispy burrito hole in my hart all week till Saturdays. Hope all is well we are praying for you all as I feel in my heart something is just not right. Pride the Lord.

Chorizo burrito tastes great but it's not big enough. I could eat two of them. --just finished the burrito. I'm still so hungry. Now I've got to go out and buy more food. At least it was tasty. If you're a small eater or try to limit calories then this probably won't be an issue for you. If you are active and burn calories while they are still on the plate like I do then might as well order 2 burritos.

This is another family owned gem. Taco shells are very stiff, but they pack them with so much chicken or beef...& the lettuce is tight & cold like you'd probably make at home...why would you go to the big chain stores when you can have these. On a crazy side note...the ice there is amazing...I know..ice? Just try it...you'll see if you notice little things like that!

It seems like that kind of place.

the matchete! It's BIG! You gotta try it. Chicken is bland but the carne asada is yummy. Tortilla very soft, should be crispier. LOTS of cheese.

Burrito was fine but lacked that certain something something that really takes a burrito to the next level. All the ingredients tasted like separate ingredients as opposed to a cohesive unit. And at a price of 14 dollars it was honestly quite small and I left hungry. The service is fine and the atmosphere is exactly what you’re looking for from your burrito shop but in all honesty I was disappointed and felt like the product didn’t meet my expectations.

I loved Hanks over the years and their food is delicious but lately... the pricing is Outrageous! (twocheese enchiladas a la carte almost cost me $10 ) that is crazyI!! also had to ask them to make it hot because the last two times the cheese enchiladas were not even melted!!! these are things we shouldn't have to ask for!! lower the price a little bit ! And make the food hot tasty off the grill ! and I'll give five stars

Help me to understand why this place has good reviews about the food. It's really not mexican, it's a facsimile, a Costa Mesa thing, I think. I ordered "chilaquiles" a traditional mexican breakfast plate. Boy was I disappointed. I was like, "what the heck is this". The people are nice but you don't eat at a place just because they're nice, that's dumb, you go for the food. Hence I won't be eating there jamás. I should have taken a photo but I was too shocked and it slipped my mind.

Prices went up and service went down. Used to be a regular here but will never go back, there's way better options in the area for better quality food and price. Girl with the nose ring needs to get some training before yall go out of business. She sat on her phone near the register ignoring customers ready to order and had a terrible attitude. 👎🏽👎🏽

Saw the reviews, figured I’d give the breakfast burrito a try. It all tasted pretty good, but everything was ruined when I found not one, BUT TWO pieces of hair in my meal. One was in the burrito, the other inside the lip of the salsa container. This is absolutely disgusting, I don’t even wanna think about if there were possible more. The moment I saw those two, I threw everything away. I understand if it’s a one time mistake, but cmon, TWO hairs. This is the first time I’ve ever eaten here too, never coming back that’s for sure.

I need to go back to this restaurant and show the cook how you make chilaquiles. Because this is something else. The tortillas were so soft like they were warm up and not Fried. Honestly not going back because of this plate. This is trash food!!
