When the local tradesmen turn up for lunch, you know it's going to be good. Service is haphazard, they need more staff BUT the food and the prices are excellent. The Penne has just the right amount of chilli, the rare steak was perfectly cooked and the wild bore with olive delicious 😋. We'll be back next week.

Visiting from Australia and had dinner here with my family who live close by. A great restaurant with outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the Tuscan hillside. Staff were very friendly, helpful and also spoke English (for those who don't speak Italian). Food is typical Tuscan food and was delicious. Highly recommend sitting outside during summer and dining while the sun sets over the beautiful back drop. This is a great place to eat whether you are couple on a date or having a big family dinner.

Great Food and great view. I love this place but every time I get disappointed because when you ask for the bill you need to wait 20 minutes and if you need change or you pay with credit card you need to wait 15 more minutes . It’s annoying . The service is god and the waiters are nice but they just don’t get it that more than 2 hours for dinner is too much . The prices are not bad at all. So good place but go there armed with time and patience . Although the waiting time it’s worth it . They have gluten free options.

Bel ristorante, grande e dal menù ampio. I camerieri sono svegli e gentili, e il cibo è buono. Le porzioni non sono enormi, e a volte c'è da aspettare, ma nel complesso un posto piacevole. Il panorama è particolarmente bello, e c'è la possibilità di sedersi dentro o fuori.

Capitato per caso, su indicazioni di persone locali e, dopo aver percorso un bel tratto di strada immerso nei boschi e nella natura toscana, mi ritrovo in questo paesino di nome Palaia. Fortunatamente riesco a trovare un parcheggio vicino al ristorante. Fattomi accomodare all'esterno e, mentre ero deliziato da un tramonto tra le colline toscane, una simpaticissima cameriera mi ha elencato i fuori menù del giorno tra cui la "costata di maiale con fonduta e noci". Subito mi è salita l'acquolina in bocca. Si tratta di un bel taglio di maiale cotto ai ferri rimasto morbido e succoso con sopra una colata di fonduta e pezzi e dico pezzi di noci, accompagnata da una cialda di formaggio e verdurine fritte non pastellate. Il tutto accompagnato da un calice di buon vino rosso della casa. A fine cena sono andato via più che soddisfatto anche per il costo adeguatissimo sostenuto, tanto che ho prenotato per la cena del giorno dopo nella quale ho gustato una tagliata lardellata. Consigliatissimo per chi si trova nei dintorni e raccomando la prenotazione poiché il locale è frequentatissimo. Personale cordiale e disponibile

Ristorante molto buono, prezzi moderati, buona qualità e quantità. Servizio veloce e locale interno ben arredato. In estate nella terrazza esteriore c’è anche musica dal vivo.

Locale storico.. disperso nelle colline toscane.. trovato per caso ma rimasto veramente colpiti.. servizio alla buona, qualità dei piatti veramente buona e prezzi davvero corretti.. un locale in cui ci si sente ospiti di questa famiglia, in cui si percepisce il vissuto di 50 anni di attività alle spalle..

Its not the reinvention of the wheel and probably the most boring menu I have seen in a long time. Very plain, very pragmatic. But for the rather low price, I would say its a justified visit if you wanna quench that hunger and not pay a lot. Pizza was decent, the grated parmesan actually tasted like it and the noodles were cooked properly.

Inizio a dire ché è un bel locale, ben arredato, con un camino in fondo alla stanza dove ci sono i tavoli. Il cibo: peccato perché me ne avevano parlato molto bene, che sì mangiava molto bene. Beh io però non ho mangiato molto bene, ci sono state delle pecche, che mi hanno lasciato un po' delusa. Ci riproverò, vediamo se la seconda volta sarò più fortuna.

Very distracted staff. Not so good service. Good food reasonable prices.

Sabato sera a cena era pieno. Buono il piccione (fuori menu: 20 €). Credo abbiano avuto problemi di gestione di molti clienti. Ci hanno servito il secondo prima del primo, i galletti erano crudi e quando abbiamo chiesto di cuocerli di più sono tornati dopo pochi minuti sbruciacchiati fuori e ancora non cotti bene dentro. Serviva più tempo. Quando sono arrivati i primi la pasta era troppo poco cotta (non al dente). L'antipasto per 4: con una fetta a testa di 4 salumi e un pezzetto di pecorino troppo fresco, cipolline e cavolo sott'aceto e olivettine: 56 €, un po'eccessivo secondo il mio parere.

Il cibo buonissimo però abbiamo prenotato 2 ore prima e quando siamo arrivati il tavolo non era pronto. Hanno e hanno portato il cibo senza le Posate. E non si sono neanche accorti. Mi sono lamentata alla fine con uno del personale con l’intenzione di aiutarli a migliore il loro servizio e quello che ho sentito quando mi sono girate sono state delle battute poco rispettose !

Booked a large table for 13 adults and 4 children for a family birthday. Table was set up with high chairs etc so all looked good as we arrived. However when we ordered the waitress looked thoroughly miserable even though one of our party who is Italian did all the ordering to make it easy, she audibly tutted as we asked for drinks. We were seated for over 3 hrs and after our first round of drinks we were never offered more. Plates were left piled on our table, she also waited 20 mins until we ordered steaks to tell us they were not available, no different crockery for pasta or meat courses. Didn’t stay for desserts or coffee or push for more drinks as we felt like we didn’t want to spend more money in the restaurant. Bill was €600 including €45 for non existent service and could have been much higher if the service had made us feel welcome. Food was actually good though and I imagine if we hadn’t been tourists we might have had a better reception. Even when I asked for the bill at the end she waved us off and we had to approach another waitress to get the bill. My advice is go in a small group, hope for the happier blonde waitress and double up on drinks when you order.

The place is more of a tourist trap unfortunately. The food quality is average at maximum. Tables outside have plastic chairs and mainly plastic tables. The prices on the other hand are higher than in better restaurants in the area. We will not return.

Sconsigliato. Abbiamo preso le tagliatelle al tartufo bianco ma erano asciutte e condite pochissimo, in pratica un piatto di pasta al burro neanche fatto bene. Il tutto per una cifra non trascurabile. Peccato. Non ci torneremo.

Even though we had a reservation for 7.30pm we were given a table in full sunlight on a 30 + degree day. Our request for a shadier table was met with total rudeness and annoyance.

Don't bother coming here, any minor inconvenience and the staff will ruin your night. We booked a table and they put us in the sun. When we asked to move to an equivalent table they had a hissy fit like little children until we walked out.

Horrible horrible place! 1. We precisely reserved a table with views. We got the one next to the entrance “because the table with views is only for 4 people”. 2. Many dishes were not available. 3. Pasta arrived half cold, the pasta was still hard. Some spaghetti were cut!!!! I hope it was not from an old plate?! No spoon for spaghetti. Pizza was absolutely average. Plates were not served cleaned and nicely. 4. Fish and porcini mushrooms are declared “deep frozen” in the menu!! No fresh ingredients in Italy? Unbelievable. 5. Prices are too high for the very very low standard. 6. Loads of bees in the place. 7. Parmigiano was not fresh but in small plastic packages, expiration date in 1.5 weeks. 8. We asked to pack the rest of our food as we wanted to flee the bees and we had to pack it ourselves! 9. Rude service, actually the worst we ever experienced. All in all we were super disappointed and with other restaurants very close to better find other alternatives.
