Today I came over to Norfolk... The king's head is a lovely little pub, set back off the main road in the pedestrian area just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and carparks... Grant and Olivia looked after me during my visit, very friendly and very welcoming to all the customers. The place is looking fabulous, bright and clean throughout. The king's head has a large outdoor seating and eating area, ideal for the summer months, dog friendly with water and treats available with heated covered smoking area. A great place to spend a few hours by the seaside in this idyllic little town. 😎

What a lovely welcoming pub. We wanted both food and drink, we arrived about 10 minutes before the kitchen was due to close but the very kind lady that served us took our food order. Thank goodness we managed to get our order in, the fish, chips and mushy peas were beautiful. A substantial portion size with lemon and tartar sauce. Toilets are clean and accessible. They even had their Christmas trees decorated. I would eat here again.

When all other pubs do not do food on a Monday this is the place to go. Very nice polite staff and the food was amazing. Highly recommend the lasagne and burger. The Piri Piri chicken wasn't hot enough for me but that is my preference.

Was in cromer for the evening and struggling to find somewhere to have decent pub grub then stumbled upon the kings head. Very friendly atmosphere, server was very pleasant. I had a mixed grill and biscoff sundae, partner had Louisiana burger and apple crumble. Food was brilliant, tasted amazing, great portion size and well priced. Highly recommend this venue for food or a drink if in cromer

A fantastic boozer with a wide selection of beverages served with style and aplomb by Cassidy!

Only popped in to the beer garden for some lunch with the dogs. Lovely seating area and the food was really nice. The dogs were made welcome and we had a nice chat with the people on the next table. Would have stayed a bit longer if we had time.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere, nice tables, well laid out. I had the cheese burger and fries which was amazing and my friend had the loaded fries which was a massive portion. Fantastic food.

We was staying just down the road in Sheringham and found eating out prices were expensive and were left feeling hungry afterwards. We came here on the last day of our holiday and had a good meal at a reasonable price, closer to what were accustomed to at home

Steven and Lily made us very welcome. The food was lovely, service was prompt despite us being a table of 9, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Would visit again.

Decent pub in the centre of Cromer with good choice of beers and a relaxed youthful atmosphere. Dog-friendly indoors and outside. Food is good - there are modestly sized portions but this is outweighed by the quality and value for money.

There was an amazing member of staff ( sorry I forgot to get your name) we booked a table with our furbaby to watch the rugby and eat. This member of staff went above and beyond, was so helpful and kind that it made our night even if we didn’t win the rugby. If only everyone could be like you. I also highly recommend the food especially the chef’s salmon dish. Wow it was so yummy. Thank you

Just had a meal at the Kings Head which was delicious, always good food there. Luke the bartender was friendly, efficient and very attentive. The cocktails are very nice. Had a lovely evening despite my sister throwing her cocktail all over the floor, unintentionally I might add, which was quickly cleared up by Luke. A lovely local pub.

We came for the Christmas meal menu last month and had a great time. The food was delicious, thanks to Connor the chef, and Steven and Summer were excellent hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed and were really friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Friendly pub in centre of Cromer. Did not eat there but food that came out looked amazing. Loved the 2 for £10 cocktails. Big shout out to Steve ....mixed the best cocktails and kept the bar running smoothly. See you next year 😊

We had a very pleasant day at the Kings Head in Cromer on Boxing Day. Beautiful food, staff were both professional and friendly - it was our first time visiting but we will certainly be going back. Highly recommend 👍

Really nice pub and team. Been in twice in 3 days on a break and the 2nd time was today for an 80th birthday meal and the food, service and drinks were great. They accommodated us excellently especially as half the party had trouble with traffic and were late but were very understanding. Highly recommend if your in the area.

We had a lovely evening celebrating my brothers 50th birthday. Food was lovely and service was even better. We were a fairly large party and nothing was too much. Steven and Lily constantly checked in with us making sure everything was ok and it was! We will definitely be back!!

Great pub food and service with a smile. We were made to feel very welcome along with our dog. Would certainly return.

In here, I have had one of the funniest moments visiting Cromer. There was a kind of party for an organisation or so, with live band music. Everybody was friendly. The pub preserves that traditional atmosphere and is a perfect spot to stop, have a drink and food, and continue with the touristic attractions of this centenary coast side town.

Really nice little pub. Off the seafront, so less busy. Had cod in beer batter, chips and peas, it was delicious. Good service, didn't wait too long either, not like some places. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly, which I love to see, even though I am not a dog owner. Would recommend, not expensive.

Dropped in for a drink (decent beer). Good service. Had a chat with freindly locals. Reasonable outside seating area.

Nice old pub with friendly staff. Menu is small but varied. We sat in the outdoor courtyard for our meal. Mix of families, couples and local people, friendly atmosphere. Dogs are welcome as well.

Pretty decent pub with fair prices and friendly staff. Could do with an extra TV or two though for live sport

Bit disappointed by our visit overall. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the drinks were good, but the food was pretty generic and the online menu was different to the one in the pub. The steak pie was overcooked and my wife's chicken was over fried. It was all a little bit underwhelming and I suspect most of it came pre-prepared from Brakes. My son's burger was good though and worth a mention. There's better out in Cromer

Went there while on holiday with our dogs. Place is dog friendly both inside and outside seating areas.friendly staff whi are pleased to assist and place is clean and tidy. We had food there on 3 days and all very nice only comment qoukd be that the pies were served luke warm but other than that no grumbles. Good selection of drinks. prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Standard pub food with standard pub service. It is a Punch Tavern. Sauces in the annoying difficult to open plastic packets. A pub that cannot do a proper St Celements (Bitter Lemon) so had to.have it with Lemonade which makes it sweeter and less Lemon flavour. Yet again frozen chips. The UK has lost the art of actually making chips.

This is my second visit to The King's Head, and unfortunately, it was déjà vu when it came to ordering food—there basically isn't any (see attached photo for the menu). It's genuinely frustrating, especially when you're looking forward to a proper meal. That said, the bar staff are friendly and welcoming, and the drink selection (and prices) definitely help soften the blow—especially the £10.95 jugs, which are a solid deal. During the day, the pub is a lovely spot for both tourists and locals to gather. The sunlit garden is a particular highlight—perfect for relaxing and soaking up some rays like lizards basking in the sun. Come nightfall, however, the atmosphere shifts a bit. You'll encounter a more eclectic crowd—one gentleman was proudly announcing his recent release from "His Majesty's finest," which certainly added a unique twist to the evening. I’m still hopeful for the food situation to improve and genuinely look forward to returning once the kitchen is back in action.

Pub is done out nice inside .Was just a few other people there so not really much of an atmosphere.I had looked at reviews before I went and was looking forward to having a roast but when we got there there wasn't any left which was very disappointing.

Staff were pleasant and welcoming . Did notice all table settings were set out for left handed people ,, not proper table service setting . I had the Brie which was slightly overcooked but was ok. Also given bread with oil .. why not add balsamic to the oil it’s much nicer than just plain oil. Main course nice but unfortunately served warm not hot ! Turkey was very soft and tasty as was the rest of the food on the plate too many potatoes we thought on the plate could have done with more carrots and parsnip as only one of each. Dessert was nice too. I asked for coffee to be told no coffee beans which I thought was not good especially on Christmas Day surly I will not be the only one to ask for coffee as to eat a mince pie it would have been nice to have coffee. We were offered tea I must say . Overall experience it was I would say average .

No real ale, no merlot? On a Thursday evening? No way to run a pub. But it looked inviting from the outside, it was warm and pleasant inside and the service was ok, from the sole barman who did his best, hampered by poor management. The food was hot and nicely presented. But there is strong competition very close by, so we'll go elsewhere tomorrow.

Called in for a meal and a drink with the wife, I had fish chips peas, wife had a classic burger, both meals at £13.99, tourist trap, please avoid, how can someone cook a meal and leave half the chips cold and some hot🤔 that got me worried and I didn’t touch any more chips, neither did the wife as hers were the same.

Waited for food and.....disgusting, totally over cooked, the home cooked pie crust was so hard i couldn't cut through it. We were given fresh chips but they were not much better...so we left. So disapointed after a looking forward to nice family meal. Will not be eating here again.

6 of us visited the King's head in Cromer this week for lunch, felt the need to complain about the garlic bread as it was burnt, this made up a big chunk of the food as portions were small, after a considerable amount of time we were eventually told we had taken too many bites of it, we weren't ask if we wanted original bread back, we didn't get a replacement, neither did we get a refund. I believe the garlic bread was under £3, so it's is a shame it wasn't replaced, obviously no monitory tip given, but perhaps a good tip would be to keep customers happy, will not be eating there again.

They make it very clear that they service food until 8pm yet called in yesterday at 7.45pm and they had stopped serving. I have since noticed you can book a table online for 8pm, so good luck with that!

Long wait for the food given it’s a simple pub. We had an especially disappointing experience with fish and chips - the batter was burnt, fish dry and chips overly oily. Fortunately the staff agreed to a refund but would not recommend this dish for people to order. (You can see how it differs in size and presentation from the menu on the pictures) Generally small portions :(

Have just left the Kings Head after waiting 1hr 15mins for food. Soup with bread that was rock hard. fish and chips that was burnt and looked appalling. Full refund given and left food on the table. Staff behind bar and waiting tables ( friendly and helpful) very apologetic and embarrassed. Do not eat at this pub. I find the response from the pub very concerning. Even after serving poor quality food, and an unacceptable waiting time they believe the way to deal with this review is to TRY and correct the time period. We of course dispute this as our watch, theirs maybe different of course, showed we waited 1.15 for final main meal. This should have been served with other food requested at time of ordering. Speak to your own staff and they will confirm this - hopefully !! No apology at all !! - very insightful, and not very surprising.

We went to the Kings Head without a reservation as 3 adults and a sleeping toddler. We found a table in the bar area and ordered food and drinks around 1pm. We had to chase food at 1.40 and was advised it was being plated up. 1.50 we chased again. 1.55 it turned up. Cold to touch - Aunt Bessie's yorkshires. Plate was just brown. Only a handful of green beans, no carrots. We didn't get a photo of the food because we just wanted to get out and find food elsewhere. Very poor experience. Other tables around us were also having orders wrong. We then had to ask to be refunded, but the manager refused to refund drinks - 1 beer and 2 soft drinks (really?). A terrible experience and a wasted afternoon.

We came here for a meal before going to a show on Cromer Pier. We initially ordered and paid to then be told that 3 of the meals we had ordered they had run out of so we had to reorder. 3 of us had chicken roast dinners, what was served up was absolutely woeful. A tough chicken breast, overdone roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding so hard it could break your teeth and some peas and brown looking cabbage. On the menu states the roast should come with stuffing and a pig in blanket. When we asked what I believe was the manager (little dark haired chap in a waistcoat) he stated that they had run out and the chef gave us extra potatoes. When I pointed out they were awful he just stared at me and walked away, never to be seen again. Shocking management. In the end a nice girl called Daisy came to check on us and once we complained about the roasts she gave us a refund for these. She was the only shining light in an otherwise awful experience. I would definitely advise to eat anywhere other than here when in Cromer

Ordered steak & kidney pie & chips and a Chicken Sunday roast. Seemed like a great start, friendly girl on the bar. Food came a the pie was stone cold in the middle. The chicken roast looked and tasted like it was cooked a week ago. Staff were disinterested in resolving the matter. Won’t be returning.

B

Ordered the steak and ale pie the service was OK and the staff pleasant but the pie was atrocious the crust was rock hard and its contents minimal and dried up .The size of the pie would sit in the palm of your hand .I've seen better in aldis and lidls .If they have any more left in the kitchen they could save them self any more embarrassment and use them as cricket balls . Disgusted with it for £ 14-50.

Went in for food at 14h30, was told kitchen was closed although there are signs outside saying they serve food all day.

Overrated! The service was truly awful. I waited an entire hour for my meal, only to receive it completely wrong. I had specifically asked for the sauce on the side, yet it arrived smothered all over the dish. When I pointed this out, I was told they couldn’t change it because they were understaffed. If that’s the case, why accept guests at all? And why bother asking for preferences if you have no intention of respecting them? To top it off, the meat was chewy and unpleasant. Very disappointing experience, would not recommend.

Booked for a roast dinner on 17th August for 1:30pm. The food took 75 minutes to turn up, food was cold and the roast was missing parts. There was about 5 staff who were attending to some children during their shift. Carrying a child whilst being behind the bar. It was unprofessional and they all looked like they didn’t want to be there! Asked for a partial refund and the manager took two drinks off for a table of four. Poor.

We booked for 3 adults and 2 young children and on arrival I was told that they were not serving food. They had not attempted any contact to let us know.

I do not recommend this place. we waited for food for 35 minutes and did not get it. because the waitress did not focus on work. our order went to people who came for us almost half an hour. and they got our order right after they sat down at the table. I'll never come there again. The service is terrible.
