We enjoyed our meal here. The passion fruit margaritas recommended by the waiter, were excellent. We didn't really enjoy the texture of the cabrito, it was rubbery, but better eaten with a bun that a tortilla. The Oaxacaño enchiladas with black mole were excellent.
Oh I love this place!!! Every single thing about this place is amazing, the delicous unique flavors, the beautiful atmosphere overlooking the plaza, and super friendly staff. I will go here for breakfast everyday I stay from now on!
Tucked away in the charming Historic District of Centro Mexico City next to the Art Mueum, La Girasoles is a delightful gem that promises an authentic Mexican dining experience. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a warm hostess whose smile made us feel right at home. She expertly guided us to their beautiful outdoor patio, which boasts a stunning view of the nearby Art Museum—a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The ambiance strikes a lovely balance between casual and business casual, making it an inviting spot for both a laid-back lunch and a more formal dinner. The menu is a treasure trove of traditional flavors, but the real stars of our meal were the shrimp tacos and filet tacos. We also had the cheese board accompanied by a wonderful glass of wine. Honestly, the tacos were the best we had during our five-day stay in Mexico City and the cheese board with figs and berries was amazing! Each bite was bursting with authentic taste, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality. Our experience was further elevated by the attentive service from Martin and Jesus, who made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Martin’s recommendations were spot-on. The staff were friendly and added to our enjoyable dining experience. Overall, La Girasoles offers not just a meal, but a delightful experience that encapsulates the essence of Mexican cuisine. With excellent service, a fantastic menu, and a breathtaking setting, it’s a must-visit for anyone in Mexico City looking to indulge in some truly authentic fare. Don’t miss out on this charming eatery—your taste buds will thank you!
My family and I had a great meal here. The tamarind maragaritas were very delicious. The cochinita pibil was delicious served with fresh corn tortillas. The rose dessert was also delicious. Everyone was so kind to us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Food and service were great.
Nice terrasse for a drink, lots of beer selection. Cool fast Spectre James Bond movie was filmed here
Overall, just an excellent experience. Milton, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and funny. I had the beef Chamorro, which perfectly tender served with a slightly spicy sauce. The patio faces the Art Museum and the beautiful buildings surrounding.
I must say that this restaurant is by far, one of the best places I've ever eaten in my life, and I have been quite a few places. This is a must stop location, you can feel the history as you enjoy your meal and soak in the atmosphere. If you are in Mexico City, you should make time to patronize this establishment, you will not regret it.
Wow!! Not only the service is professional and welcoming . The plates are beautifully presented and tastefully delicious. Highly recommended
The best very very good food great service the bread and hot chocolate about the best I had also the chicken soup with rice 🔥
Wonderful location. Love the view. Best Tamarind Mezcalita! And a great Chile en Nogada.
Delicious food and wonderful service. The meals were super original and tasty.
Had dinner here at the end of a very trying day, neck snap ready any necked creature sin warning, but was still left with a great impression of this familial yet elevated restaurant. We had a variety of prehispánico and classical Mexican plates, crickets and worms included in the former, such as Gusanos de Maguey of the former and Crema de pistache of the latter set. And the mole… muah! All was expertly prepared and presented by professional and affable staff. Dining here was a great welcome to CDMX indeed.
We arranged meals with the restaurant for dozen people. The staff were super helpful in setting up a prefix menu and giving us a great selection of traditional Mexican dishes. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff were wonderfully organized. They did a great job in serving the dishes and explaining them. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is in the area.
We like this restaurant very much. We were at the city 5 days but came here for dinner 3 times. Good was good, service was good.
We loved Los Girasoles so much we went there twice during our week in Mexico City. Our meals were superb, and the service was excellent. Our waiter Martin was very helpful and recommended some great dishes. Five stars.
The food here is very good, tasty salsa and chips as soon as you sit down and look at the Menu. The Gordita with Carnitas and beans are my favorite, the food here is like homemade, nothing fancy to spoil the flavor, just here to enjoy and feel content after your meal. The staff is nice and attentive. They just moved here from another location so I guess they're waiting for their liquor license, so no beer yet. It's ok with us, coke and coke zero is fine for us. Their prices are reasonable. We dine in and also take out, it's worth the drive from Chino hills.
I've been out of town. Got back home to find MY SPOT back in business after moving. Best Menudo EVER! Please try the cafe de la Hoya...lol...JK. Cafe de olla. Oh and they have a cheese cake chinga. BOMB!
To be fair to staff and atmosphere, this is basicly a newer los jarritos location. Previously this spot was a "casa Jimenz" restaurant my parents liked to visit as an alternative to original Los Jarritos location. So when jarritos chose this spot it was a comfortable surprise, so while this transition is taking place the outside is still Jimenz and the inside is becoming jarritos to us. And there are some newer faces and proceedures in place. The food is still as delicious as ever, but no longer can we peek and watch them prepare plates, it was always a "im gonna get that next time" moment. I have to report the RRs have been remodeled which was needed.
My favorite Mexican eatery for the past 20 years. I was so sad when they closed their Pomona location, earlier this year, but I’m ecstatic that they’re back! Their food still tastes the same, and even though they’re now in Claremont, the prices haven’t gone up. Same great people as well. The new location has more harm, become a little bit less brighter, which I miss about the other location. But, that’s a small price to pay for great food!. Welcome back, Los Jarritos! I hope you’re here safe for another 20 years at least!
Yesterday was my first time trying this place and the food is AMAZING!! Not only was the food great but Our waitress Victoria was absolutely fantastic, she gave us great recommendations, and made us feel very Welcome. Now we will be there every week and this Sunday to try the menudo !!!😋
Great service !!! Food is delicious !!! Each member of the floor staff is friendly and attentive ! There were 3 people in our party and we all enjoyed our food. We will be back and excited to try…

Traditional carnitas, tasty carne asada and delicious daily menudo. Homemade food with quality ingredients at a price point that is hard to find these days. Great to eat in for a cozy casual vibes …
Favorite restaurant!! Def my go to & I'm sooo glad it's back! The staff is always super friendly even if there's a wait (it's a busy place ofc there's gonna be a wait!) and the food never misses.
I went here after attending the ballet. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. The service was top-notch and very quick. My food and drinks were excellent. I had a corona and a cocktail. I had the Mexican chicane lasagne and then a mini dessert platter. I would definitely come back here.
What should have been a perfect visual image of Plaza Tolsá was marred by the annoying noise of heavy equipment and the smell of engine fuel as they set up a stage right next to El Caballito. Trying not to see or hear, we tried to enjoy the feel of the old mansion where the restaurant is located (the same one whose rooftop Agent 007 walked on in "Spectre") and the pretentious Mexican dishes. Both the Chalupas Poblanas and the "Fideo seco" (Dry noodles) are a delight to the eye. They are very well presented, although the flavor makes no difference, it is very good, so to speak. The Pastel de elote (Corn cake), also attractively presented, although acceptable, could be better. The best thing was the waitress's attention (congratulations on her pregnancy).
Nice restaurant at the corner of the square. Food was ok. I had Vitral de las tres moles; the chicken was bland but the moles were good.
I’m not a fan of innards of any animal but the elders wanted me to try it. Mexican menudo is good with lemon, oregano and onions. Without the condiments I cannot eat it. I don’t like the smell. 🤢 This is my first time and I like it. The restaurant looks like an ordinary canteen but a lot of people were still lining up when we left. This restaurant is popular.❤️ Next time, I will try other stuff. Four stars only because there were flies inside and one of the food server got red eyes and looks sick. But they were very polite and nice nonetheless. Good food and price is just right👌🏽
When we called to confirm they had dine in, the ladies on the phone where rude no customer skills at all. As we arrived, same thing, the greeter was rude with no customer skills at all. As if we came to beg for food...but we were hungry and my frind wanted to try this place...she made us wait for 15min outside, then 20min before bringing our food. HOWEVER, food was delicious, WORTH waiting for...
To be fair, it seems very new but service does not exist. The food is as basic and generic is possible. The servers are 18 to 20 somethings that talk to each other and ignore the patrons. Good news, …

We ordered the hard shell beef tacos, beans and rice plates, all good. The tortilla chips they served with the salsa were a little on the greasy side...glad they're back.

Not the same as the last location I feel the food quality hasn't Been as good either . The ambiance feels like a hospital waiting room
Bone marrow tacos were fine in taste, but the dough was tough to get through… The chicken in the three colour moles was really really dry… really not good. Staff was nice, location is also nice. The coronas were also good ;)
Food was good, but waiter kept trying to get me to order most expensive things on the menu. Was offered a Mezcal which turned out to be $20 for a single shot when the bill came - which waiter must have known was a bit more than what I was ordering. Mezcal was great, but bill left a bitter taste!
Perhaps because I only ordered their soft and hard tacos, i did not see much difference than other Mexican restaurants. Service is nice and friendly. Their meats were not seasoned enough and offers no special taste other than they tasted like steak, pork or chicken. Also their sauce was a simple red sauce from a can or bottle. Chips were also taste as if from a large bag. I would choose other restaurants if you are looking for a real home made or something specially different. The tacos were quite small and do not have much to offer. Parking is plenty in the strip mall lot.
Tried a chicken salad and left the restaurant completely disappointed. First time here and I’m almost 100% sure that food is great for what I read on the reviews, but sincerely I chose probably the worst option. A huge lettuce mountain on a small plate, 5 little chunks of tomato , some shredded cheese and maybe two ounces of plain white chicken breast meat just on top of the lettuce. It was $9 which is fine for what I got (considering prices nowadays) but I was expecting more meat. I’m sorry but some things have to be done with more love and passion.
They told me to sit anywhere. I pointed to a table . They said it's ok then they have the nerve to move be me. Two minutes later some else sat there. I don't like I cannot chose any open table to sit…

Saturday! Went for the Menudo they ran out. So I ordered Steak Picado Plate. Rice and beans were Cold. The meat was not from a steak maybe chopped up carne asada. From a 1 to 10. I'd say a Low 6

Food was not like before! Menu smaller and said they don't serve a full menu on Sundays. Nachos tasteless had to pay for red salsa and pico de gallo! No chips you have to\nPay extra for those. And …
Was so excited to try their food. Got seated and was greeted by a gentleman who brought us chips and salsa. After reviewing the menu we ordered menudo and beef fajitas with 2 diet coke. Food came…
Breakfast burrito was horrible. No flavor. The salsa saved it though. Coffee was just as bad. I couldn't even smell food cooking. They probably reheat most of their food.
Very rude server. Brought in half a coffee from outside. The server was about to sit us down and said "No outside coffee" or they can hold it in the back for us. Other restaurants don't stress over coffee or insignificant things like that. The male server killed the good vibes making us feel unwelcome. As hungry as we were, we had no choice but to walk away and never return. I do not recommend this restaurants.
**If you want good, consistent Mexican food go to Raffas on La Verne.** "Los Jarritos" has many unseasoned and plain or incorrect orders in most my visits. Meat is tough and chewy, low quality. I've come here multiple times and had more bad than good. My last time during their new grand opening here and at their old location before. They did not give me the correct order or the quality was awful. Like Disgusting quality for example. On my last visit and final visit, I got an all meat burrito. What they gave me was an unseasoned, plain, tough piece of very low quality meat wrapped in a tortilla. I almost went back to complain and ask for refund. Well, I just won't return now. Out of around 4 visits 3 of them were terrible. Only 1 of 4 visits was actually good quality like it suppose to be. No consistency and the fact their chefs are okay with serving the low quality stuff is a huge red flag. I will never come back here.
DO NOT GO TO LOS JARRITOS ON FOOTHILL IN CLAREMONT...unless you want to be verbally abused. Just left! My sister and other family members have gone to the one on Gary for years! Five of us went there to breakfast today. We walked in and many of the employees who knew my sister said hello to her and welcomed her. One employee told her not to even put her name in but that they would call her name soon since there was room in the back. Her name was then called (or so we thought) and we were seated and welcomed by one of the servers who took our orders. As we waited for our food a young Hispanic man with a ball cap that had Yosemite Sam on it, came up to us with an angry very threatening demeanor claiming to be the "manager"claiming "you guys cut!" We didn't understand what he was talking about and he told us that another name was called and we took their place, by cutting. He told us the name and was one that sounded similar to my sisters. So, it was a misunderstanding. We kindly apologized for the misunderstanding and told him that we are seated now, and have ordered, "...what would you like us to do?" However, he was responded in a hostile, MACHO threatening manner with his chest puffed out and kept wanting to drive the point that we "butted"...continuing to talk to us like animals. We are ladies over 50 and he had no respect. We had enough, explained we would not be treated this way and we all got up to leave and he stated out loud with a taunting laugh "well, we have lots of other customers!" As he shooed us with his hand gestures. We immediately called another relative, another long time customer. He advised us that he was not planning to go back there ever again either as he got a similar attitude from the same young man as did his daughter on a separate occasion. They also witnessed him treating the employees the same way. My understanding is that he is the owner's son and apparently has let his position go to his immature little head. When I asked for his name he said that he didnt have to give it and laughed. Lots of other good local Mexican food restaurants. I never particularly liked this one, but went because it was my sister's go to place. None of us will ever go there again!!!
New location, not the same old Los Jarritos. My wife and I had lunch last Sunday at the new Los Jarriotos location on foothill blvd, we were regulars at the old location for many years. To start, we were seated and the waitress brought out the Salsa, a few minuets later I asked when she would be bringing the chips, she said they were out, I wondered why she would bring the Salsa? I looked around and nobody had chips just cups of Salsa, Weird! Now for the food... Wife ordered the meat and bean burrito and I ordered the Chicken Fajitas plate, The food was very dry and almost flavorless, the chicken in my Fajita was dry and the rice was over cooked "dry and crunchy", the refried beans were more like a soup. the amount of chicken served to me was not the normal amount, almost like they were about to run out of it. Not Authentic Mexican food at all! tasted almost like a high school fund raiser cooked by kids or snack bar food at a little league game. We wont be back, this place can only survive so long on the old reputation. Bill Henley La Verne CA
Flys when your eating, and that's while your inside sitting. Imagine what the kitchen looks like. Those flys are hatching somewhere. So think before you eat here. Food quality went down, won't be eating here anymore. Time to move on, good things don't last forever.
