Very delicious. They have all types of dumplings. Many choices. but I think you won't go wrong with the classic ones, the top 3 dumplings. The Togo is great!
The most authentic northern Chinese dumplings. It reminds me of my home. Dumplings and cold dishes are must-try, the hot dishes are so-so to me. We drive more than ten miles to eat here twice a week. Service is not good, but I don't care at all
Straight up authentic Chinese dumplings. Really good and pretty fast. They have a menu of Hunan and some Sichuan dishes as well. Prices are decent and there are lunch specials that give great vallue. Only stained ONE piece of clithing with the spicy chili oil
Beef with cilantro dumplings were outstanding. I was disappointed by a cucumber salad. Service is ok, place is low standing. I put 5* for the dumplings: fresh, juicy, made in front of you. The filling is excellent.
The service is OK (the waiters barely speak English though), the decor is non-existent, but the food is just awesome and reasonably priced. All the dumplings are tasty, the soups are generally pretty good, and I keep coming back here as a result.
Got carry out of two dishes, celery with shredded pork and wood ears 农家小炒 + chicken chow fun鸡肉炒粉. They gave us a chicken chowmein 鸡肉炒面 mistakenly. However, both dishes are big amount, fresh, tasty with lots of veggies and meat but not pricy at all ($27) compared to other nearby restaurants which usually cost $35-40 for two dishes. Plus it's authentic northern Chinese flavor, a bit toward the sweet side. And they provide a free hot and sour soup which is also really good. We arrive at a Friday evening but don't see many people. They deserve more customers. Highly recommend!!!
The green onion pancake is the best! Thin, crispy oh so delicious! The dumplings are very tasty and always fresh. The dumplings are also available frozen to cook at home too!
Super legit handmade Northern Chinese dumplings. I'm from Northern China, so trust me when I say it doesn't get any better than this. Whenever I come here I always bring home a bag of their frozen dumplings; way better than the crappy supermarket frozen dumplings.
Great place for northern Chinese dishes: boiled dumplings (or you can get them fried), great chewey flavorful noodles, and good home style cooking. Go here if your looking for northern Chinese food.
Best dumplings in the area, and I've never had problems with the service. You can also buy fresh/frozen dumplings to cook at home.
You get 12 delicious dumplings per order. They are yummy. Make sure you use lots of hot sauce and crushed garlic.
I think it is petty to rate somewhere you never even eaten because something happened to your order. Was it the apps fault? Your phones? Sometimes things just happen, and it’s obnoxious to pretend that restaurants are in full control of everything. It’s super hard to recommend something to someone you don’t know. Do they like spicy? Do they prefer shrimp? And if you know they’re busy then they can’t really sit on the phone and talk to you. Have you guys ever worked in a restaurant? They sell frozen dumplings which make a great snack You have the option to fry your dumpling if you want They serve other items besides dumplings You can just point at the menu to order; you live in the Bay Area and should be thankful to be surrounded by many different cultures.
I had never had a real dumpling until I came here and had an order of handmade in front of me dumplings. Now I can't stop coming here and ordering all of the varieties. Pay the 30¢ to have the dumplings fried, so so tasty. The pork/cabbage and the lamb/squash are phenomenal.
I've been coming here 1-2x every month for over a year. Soft dumpling skins fried on the bottom, unlimited garlic + chili to mix with your choice of vinegar and/or soy sauce, and really juicy fillings. I enjoy their fish dumplings but my friends like their meat options too.
Tasty dumplings! Puzzled by the 3-star or lower reviews. As a latino dating a Chinese I'm often told: "this is not authentic, let me take you to eat good food." Well, Tong Dumpling passed the test as one of the best dumplings in the area. I took pictures, which I'll upload, of all the food we ate (what can I say... I learn) and although it doesn't look as appetizing as it tasted you can go try it yourself. All was good, in fact, I briefly considered buying their frozen bag of 50 dumplings for ~$22. My personal preference: pork dumplings and pay the extra $0.50 for them to fry it for you. So good.
Very fresh and delicious dumplings, hot and delectable. Our order even came with some extras, a little soup and shredded daikon. We loved all the food, and appreciated the balance of the dumplings with some chilled cucumber. Reminds me of my days in Shanghai.
We always order the raw dumplings and cook at home. Authentic Chinese dumplings. This is the only restaurant whose dumplings are comparable to our own homemade ones. My favorites, chive w/pork, green beans w/pork and chive w/ shrimp. Price is affadable.
This is a great Chinese restaurant. The food tastes great and there is a wide variety too. My family and I come here on a regular basis. Service quality is normal. Highly recommend :)
I been coming here since 1997. This place is phenomenal. You need dumplings here. You get them fried and it's perfection! This place can get extremely busy but it's worth the wait. The service is harsh, they gonna rush you but the food is good. Don't take it personal. My son is a picky eater but he eats everything here.
Went here for the first time. We ordered more however liked all the food we order. Especially dumplings 🙋🏻♀️ the taste beats the famous dumplings in Steven's creek.
Waiters don't speak English...they actually gave me some attitude when my friend and I tried using 2 separate credit cards to pay for our respective meals...but despite that... The service is fast and the food is so friggin good, I'm willing to overlook all of that... Instant food coma... Would come here again and again...
Like the dumplings here. They all came with soup inside and tasty. The vegetable dish and fish were nice also. The lamb with cumin was not that satisfactory in comparison.

I cannot for the life of me understand how this place only has 3.9 stars. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE, and the man who took our order was super nice. The cilantro beef dumplings were especially fantastic, I’ll be dreaming about them for a long time.
My very first lunch meal in Bay Area since 12 years ago. I still love this one: affordable, delicious, and quick! I hope their business will continue forever!
Yummy dumplings, very good side dishes and nice service. We had two different types of dumplings (shrimp and vegetarian) and three different side dishes (tofu, cucumber, duck). Everything was delicious. Prices are good. They also sell frozen dumplings to make at home. We will definitely go there again some time soon!
I used to go to the Wolfe location for years, so I was so bummed when it shut down! These are hands down my favorite dumplings in the area, and that's huge praise because the dumpling competition around here is really good! I recognize the same staff working from the Wolfe location, so they've managed to stick together which is great to see. They're always so kind! The location is a bit strange for sure. It's all the way in the back of what feels like an old supermarket that has been changed to have a bunch of random stores and stalls. I know it's been like this for years already, but every time I come here I'm always wondering how anyone even knows about this location. (Maybe it's kept alive by the parents bringing their kids to after school classes haha.) At the same time, I actually like the vibe a lot! It really makes this feel like a hidden gem now, like you're a part of some kind of secret club. Everything is clean, and if you're bored or waiting for food you can walk around and check out various peculiar stalls, stores, and restaurants nearby. My go-to order is the three deluxe fried dumplings (pork, chive, and shrimp filling). I came in for lunch and it came with a plate of seaweed salad, a plate of beans, and a bowl of hot & sour soup all for no additional cost. They offer seasoned soy sauce, Chinese black vinegar, and chili oil on the side. The only small suggestion I have is maybe have some minced garlic and sliced green onion available for our sauces! Next time I'll probably get a bag of frozen dumplings so I can boil them at home... you know what I'll probably order a plate and eat there while I'm at it too. :)
Happy to find this store again! For me it's the one of the top duplings in bay area.
Our whole family has loved Tong Dumpling for many years. We were so disappointed when they closed down the Cupertino location, as we thought they were gone for good—until we found out they had moved to a new location! It’s still the same freshly wrapped and cooked dumplings and the same familiar staff. You can see them wrapping dumplings behind the glass window, so you can rest assured these are not premade, frozen dumplings. Their dumplings are quite big in size, with very consistent, tasty fillings. If you eat in, they have great vinegar and minced garlic that make the dumplings taste even better. The owner said they moved because the previous location was too expensive, and they had even considered retiring, but ultimately decided to come back. I hope they stay open forever!
I don’t often write reviews, but felt I had to for Tong Dumpling. These are the best dumplings I’ve had, hands-down. Tastier than the big well-known chain everyone recommends, with faster service, and half the price. This lil’ hole-in-the-wall spot deserves all the business it can get and more. Highly recommend!
I’ve been looking for a go-to hand-made dumpling spot since I moved to the area, and I’m happy to report that I’ve found it. The dumplings here are some of, if not THE best I’ve had. Absolutely an unbeatable deal for the price. The fact I can take some frozen ones home after I dine-in is an awesome bonus.
Tong Dumping is the best dumpling restaurant in the area. My family and I love this place. They have just moved to new location at De Anza Boulevard. I am so happy we found they are still in business, just in the new place. We thought they had closed. It is the place I will drive up to get their food. Dumplings are, of course, our favorite (steamed, beef with chives), Shandong style eggplant, green beens are also a must with every time we dine or order pick up. We have never had any food there we did not enjoy. We just love their food and we have loved it for over 10 years, since the first time we discovered it.

Favorite place to go for dumplings and I'm glad they made the change from their Bollinger location to Cupertino Village as it gives them much more business with a bigger space. Dumplings are definitely really good here but definitely better if you spend the extra 30 cents to get them fried. Their Za Jiang Mein is also very good (don't forget the vinegar!) and I love the crispiness of their Onion Pancake. Not only is it great to eat in, but you can buy their dumplings frozen to take home and cook yourself! I feel like every time I come here I'm always leaving with at least a bag of frozen dumplings even after a meal. Definitely one of the better dumpling places so so if that's what you're looking for, this is your place!
Good dumplings and dishes but service could be better. We asked for recommendation but got an answer "it's your decision how do I know?" Feeling very weird getting such a response, making us not want to come back.
Hey! They have improved quite a bit! The worker wasn't able to speak English, but she was very friendly and the ordering worked out. They have good value here. I'll definitely be coming back to try other food.
Good dumplings for a very reasonable price! Would give 5 stars if it didn't smell like cigarettes (coming in from the outside) every time I went here.
Food fresh and tasty. Waitress polite but need improve for better service. Price reasonable. You can order uncooked dumplings to go. They made dumpling by hand and order to make and dine in. They make it and cook it quick for first order (if you add something, will have to wait for 30 minutes). It is our first time here, so we want to order some and try first, and add more later. Maybe there are more people come in while we eating. When we wish to add more dumpling, the Waitress told us we have to wait at least 30 minutes. We do not want to wait, so we buy some uncooked dumpling and bring them home and cook them ourselves. Ps: Uncooked dumplings' price is cheaper than dine in.
Service is ok I feel, normal level in north of China. Dumpling is good and my favorite is chives with shrimp. Perfect balance with chives and shrimp. Beef onion might be too oily to people in southern of China. Dishes is so so. I also like sour spicy soup (酸辣汤)which best match dumplings.
Would definitely come back for their dumplings! We ordered two dumpling dishes (pork leek shrimp and pork cabbage) and a side of Mapo tofu. If you want a quick home styled restaurant without an overwhelming number of dishes to choose from, this is the place. I noticed several other families making to-go orders of their dumplings. Only downside is the price. It is little pricy for what it is but we’re paying for the time and effort it takes if we were to make at home. 10/10 would come back again!

We’ve been going to Tong Dumpling for years and absolutely love their dumplings. Probably the best we’ve ever had in the states, and by quite a bit! There are a number of different choices to choose from in terms of filling, and you can also choose how you would like it cooked (water boiled or pan fried.) They have a scallion and lamb dish that is fantastic as well. The only slight negative is that their prices have been going up and their service is a bit impersonal. Having said this, if you are looking for the best dumplings, this is probably it!
we were here 2 nights ago for a quick dinner. almost a decade ago we used to dine at the old Cupertino Village location but have found out since the end of the pandemic that it has closed and moved, due to high rent prices. the owners are the same friendly people, and the food still tastes great just like what we had from a decade ago. we ordered their signature pork and cabbage dumplings, the hot n sour soup, and the Zhajiang mian (not a lot but it was a quick dinner). the food was good enough that we’ll consider coming back next time try other things.

Eggplant - very greasy/heavy, we felt sick after. Mapo tofu not great either, didn’t have any meat in it. Dumplings were good. Fast service - I got 4 items to go and it was done within 15 min
Come hungry, roll up your sleeves because there's a lot of dumpling to be had. Employees spend the entire day stuffing and rolling dumplings. It's inevitable, so go ahead and ask for a doggy bag because you ordered too much. Dumplings are delicious as leftovers too. Most importantly, take a bite of the dumpling to release the juices from inside into your waiting mouth. The pride of the restaurant owner is all in how much juice each dumpling contains.

$13 for 12 dumplings, not cheap though... I ordered pork chives, it turned out the stuff in dumpling is small portion and the pork is even less. Had dinned at Yang Dumplings in Fremont for similar price, but their dumplings there are really good. Of course the terrible service is another reason triggered this 2 star rating.
Summary: Family style restaurant, good food, so so atmosphere Ordered pork dumplings, got cup of hot'n'sour soup + boiled peanuts!! The dumplings are a bit salty to my taste otherwise are great. Clean facilities. On negative side they don't care much about your dine in experience - the same front door is used for both customer entrance and moving goods/supplies in/out, running cargo carts between the tables, also I smelled strong tobacco smell. I understand that it's hard to run small business but logistics can be improved

Nostars ..! Looking at the reviews me and my colleagues decided this place for lunch.Honestly, food was too good & yum but the service - awfullll ...!! Firstly the waitress was pushing us to order the very instant we were seated. We asked for a min or 2 and she comes back in 45 secs, pushes us to order so to start off we ordered dumplings and fried rice till we decide the rest & asked her to leave a menu. After like 10 mins they brought us the bill to pay. We called for a waitress to order who rudely responded “ No more” for 3-4 times with a very serious face. We were shocked with that rude reaction and then we tried with another waitress who reacted the same. They were rude & disrespectful. We couldnt make out if they lost their minds or us for like next 10 mins. Such an insult and we had to walk out without finishing the lunch. Worstt and horrible service ever..!! People plan lunch at restaurants to enjoy food and this restaurant’s service ruined it & I am never gonna go back to this place. I would opt for a restaurant where food tastes moderate & provides better service than this one where people who serve ruin your best time planned.
these people very rude to treat customer when I asked to pay out side the door while omicron COVED is in high alert. Will not do business with them again. Ans: your staff lie to you about the fact. When outside no desk available, your staff leaving dumping on the floor. Due to this COVED omicron high alert circumstance, we need do everything we can to keep social distance. Remember I will pick up your dump on the floor. Should I give you a photo to prove that your dumpling was on the floor?
Very disappointed. Good food but very very bad service, so go ahead if you have a strong heart. We went in a busy night, and the server is very rude on us. When we ask for recommendations for food, the response we got is that “don’t waste my time, there is a lot of people waiting”, and the sever said the sentence with a very rude and dispise tone. I will never visit this scary place again.
Deceptive pricing. I ordered the lunch special that supposed to come with a plate of dumplings, a side dish and a soup. After they served the dumplings, the waitress informed me that they had run out of soup. I was really craving for some hot and sour soup so I asked perhaps I could order one from the menu at a discounted price. The waitress said no. So I offered another solution--I asked whether they would be willing to substitute anything else for the soup. She again said no. She said the soup was based on availability, not as part of the combo. Once they ran out, there is no substitution. I begged to differ, this is what their menu said: "Lunch special, Monday to Friday. Choose one order of dumplings, come with one side dish and hot and sour soup for free." The waitress said yeah, it's meant to be free so you can't complain if we ran out of it. Then after a while, I asked about the missing side dish. The waitress said they also ran out of the side dish. That was when I realized they really were trying to short change me. They only gave me the dumplings but charged me for the full combo. I asked to speak to the owner, who gave me the same reasoning: soup and side dishes are meant to be free so they serve it only at their discretion. It's like going to McDonald's to buy a combo meal and being told that they had run out of fries and drink; you are handed only the hamburger but being asked to pay the full price for the combo. I think any reasonable person would find this unacceptable.
I ordered frozen dumplings off of ubereats. Typically when I order frozen products, the item is shipped overnight in a styrofoam box and packed with ice packs. I received dumplings from tong that were shipped in an old Home Depot box wrapped in bubble wrap with no method of cooling. I received warm raw meat that had been in transit for three days. Foul beyond belief. Refund was not offered by the restaurant nor ubereats.
