Food was delicious! Our waitress was so nice and she explained all the specials and what she recommended. Place was quite and chill atmosphere
Our server Alisha was so awesome and her recommendations were on point!! Our table LOVED everything from the appetizer to the dessert it was amazing and quality culinary experience! The Spinach dip needs a bigger bowl bc it will have you wanting more! The RED FISH…OMGGGG please keep it on the menu FOREVERRRRR!! It is Devine and so tender and The blackened seasoning is perfection. I can’t wait to visit again! This is a hidden gem in the DFW area!!
Caroline gave us fantastic service! She was attentive, and when I asked for recommendations, she did not leave us astray. Our steak was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Even the vegetables were full of flavor. I'll definitely be back!
Had a great experience for happy hour today. Half priced drinks and $10 food menu. This is the only restaurant that I will order chicken tenders at. So good! Brentwood hired the long time kitchen manager of Houston’s as their chef, so if you enjoyed Houston’s, it’s the same recipes being made by the same kitchen leadership!
Came here for a date night and loved the food, the drinks, and our sweet server Sammi! We will be back, especially to try the happy hour specials. I would come back just for the tuna tartare with avocado, sea salt, and perfectly grilled bread.
Nice place. First time here. I had the filet. It was cooked to perfection and very tender! The entree came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Well done! Service was awesome!! Thanks!
This is the old Houston's location very similar atmosphere. Our 1st time back, typical HH and food prices. Our waiter was great, we're empty nesters and shared the Snapper special, delicious.
I used to think this was Houston’s 2.0, but after my experience yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised that it’s so much more. First of all, the new seating arrangement with tables was a pleasant surprise. Much more conducive to business meetings. Furthermore, the service was fantastic, the food was delicious and I look forward to my next lunch meeting.
Great friendly restaurant continuing the legacy of Houston's concept! Yes, Houston's was my most favorite restaurant in all of DFW. One night in June of 2020 during COVID, it was packed up with a lot of people not wearing masks and not social distancing. I took a big risk that night and waited patiently for a place to sit to enjoy my favorite meal. I did, and met some nice people and never contracted COVID, but yet I had no knowledge that that would be my last time dining at Houston's. I was shocked to learn they have permanently closed via Google Maps. Hillstone I don't think they cook their meals as good as Houston's. I only went to Hillstone on Wednesdays to try to get a bowl of tortilla soup, which that has been my favorite since my teens! But since COVID, they only serve their daily soups during lunch hours until they run out. So then I began to wonder "what's going to be my new favorite restaurant?" Until Brentwood opened in mid 2022, I checked it out on Google Maps and saw the pictures of their plates and menu that resembled Houston's. At the time it had a 4.2 rating and reading reviews, I thought it was a knock off (as some stated) and didn't think it would be the same. So I continued on. This past May I discovered Charleston's restaurant in West Fort Worth as they too have a very similar concept to Houston's and learned they were related. They're really good but quite a drive. So one Friday in June, I finally decided to give Brentwood a chance, seeing that their rating has increased. Setting foot back in this place after five years, seeing the atmosphere barely changed, sure felt good. I started with the Cesar salad and realized that was definitely the true Houston's taste! Then I got the smoked salmon and was just enjoyed that signature taste. Just the chef's dressing has a pickley taste and the toast points are a little softer, but still good. Then my next visit, I saw that they serve tortilla soup on Saturdays all day and evening! And trying a bowl - WOW - exactly as how I remembered! The Brentwood is now my favorite! I'm sorry for doubting this place at first, but my faith in them has been restored! Whether if they are related to Houston's or not, I am glad they are continuing with their tradition!
Brentwood Restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality, all-American food in a professional, polished setting. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels well-suited for both casual dining and business conversations. It’s the kind of place where you can bring a client or colleague and feel confident that the service and surroundings will match the tone of a productive meeting. The menu is refreshingly straightforward but done exceptionally well. Think classic American fare — burgers, steaks, crisp salads, hearty sandwiches — all prepared with care and flavor. Every dish we tried was well-portioned, fresh, and satisfying. It’s clear they focus on quality ingredients, and the consistency from plate to plate reflects that. The service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing, which is ideal when you’re trying to talk business or stay on schedule. Brentwood strikes a great balance between upscale and comfortable. It’s modern but not too trendy, refined but not stuffy — just the right kind of place for a corporate lunch or even a quiet solo meal between meetings. Whether you’re hosting a business partner or just want a reliable spot for excellent food and a calm atmosphere, Brentwood delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended.
Right after church on Sunday my family and I usually go out to eat. We decided on Brentwood which was formerly “Houston’s” but switched names. The atmosphere was amazing and really laid back. The service was also amazing we had a wonderful waiter who kept checking on us as well. Let me get to the meat and potatoes of it all the food was extremely delicious and so fall off the bone. I had got the fork and knife ribs with coleslaw which had the right mix, my fries were to die for I honestly don’t think I’ve had fries as crispy as that. My mum had the sandwich and her friend had the coleslaw broccoli and the seared trout. It was definitely a meal to remember and I’m SOOOO planning to go back there.
Great food. Excellent service (Happy was our server). Moderate Prices. My guest and I both ordered the French Dip sandwich and French Fries. The sandwich was delicious. There were two dipping sauces, the French Dip and creamy horseradish. Both were excellent. I’ll definitely be back to try different entrees.
First time here for biz lunch. Visited this old Houston’s spot for 3 decades. Service good and menu decent. Club sandwich was decent but other portions really small IMO. Spin/Art dip was $21 and a tiny ramekin which was way over priced IMO. I had side creamed corn, small portion. Tried the Key Lime pie and was very good — small piece. Just not a good value for the $$. Fine when someone else paying but I won’t return in my dime.
My favorite thing about this upper scale restaurant is the atmosphere! Romantic, dimmer lighting, real candles at the tables, black, comfy, and private booths... So good for a date night! I thought the food was good. A tad bit pricey, but not unreasonable. We ordered a lemon drop cocktail - delicious! The Brentwood sushi roll as an appetizer - unique and great flavor. I had the Scottish salmon for my entre and I'll say the salmon was just okay, a bit overdone for my taste, but not bad. The sides it came with were good. My husband's fries were better though, lol. His french dip was good but it did not have a great Au Jux or enough of it. Also, bring a sweater... It's VERY cold. Excellent, professional service. It is a slower meal, so go for a nice long date night... Not a quick bite.
The service here was amazing! Crystal is awesome. The happy hr is from 2-6pm, everyday. I had an espresso martini which was good. I wasn’t a fan of the tempura breading on the chicken strips. The spicy tuna crispy rice was delicious. Cool place to check out, but the food was just okay for me. I’ll try new items if I go.
My girlfriend and I dined at Brentwood for Valentine’s Day. After being seated, our server came to the table, dropped off waters, and immediately and abruptly asked if we wanted any drinks. She did not greet us at all, and her energy felt very off-putting from the start. We even had to ask her name (Donna). Throughout the evening, the service continued to feel dismissive. It took a long time for her to bring straws and condiments for our food. Initially, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, considering that maybe she was having a rough day or was new. However, after observing how she warmly greeted and interacted with her other tables, the difference in treatment became very noticeable. The contrast made us feel very uncomfortable and, honestly, discriminated against. While the food was good, the service was disappointing enough that we will not be returning or recommending Brentwood to others.
Updated review: went for dinner and the place was not busy at all. I can see why. All the things that made Houston’s successful there for decades are all on the wane. Service was friendly, but inattentive. Water glasses sat empty most of the time. The pressed salmon sushi came very cold, straight out of the fridge. Wasabi was watery, and they didn’t even bring soy sauce or the little bowl to pour it into or chopsticks until I requested them. Salmon salad was very tasty, with a bit of a strange list of ingredients. Not used to seeing beans paired with fish like that. Ice cream sundae was tasty, but the chocolate syrup on the side was not hot. Prior review nine months ago: Total knock-off of Houston’s done well. Please lose the banquettes and bring back booths! All our food was delicious, especially the salmon and the kale salad. Melanie in front is both gorgeous and super-friendly.
We went to Brentwood during Christmas for lunch and had a lovely lunch. The bartender that served us told us about their happy hour- 1/2 wine by the glass. Fast forward, we went this evening after previewing their website and seeing their food and beverage menu. The menu CLEARLY states half off wine by the glass every day from 2-6 and it gave spicy sticky rice as one of the foods for the happy hour. We get there and they do not serve the sticky spicy tuna rice as mentioned. We ordered appetizers, dinner and each had three glasses of wine over the evening. When we asked for the tab, it came and they had charged us $12.00 a glass vs. the $7.00 it should have been by their web site. ($14.00 per glass half off) When the tab came , we asked to speak to the manager. He came over and kept showing us some other website and refused to honor the pricing we had seen on the "Brentwood" website. Then we asked to speak to the general manager, Scot Gordon Hoke, and he was ruder than the first manager. He proceeded to tell my husband to leave the restaurant and never come back. We were appauled. We eat out all the time at nice retaurants and have NEVER encountered a ruder managerment staff. We told them both that they were costing their wait staff their tip. They didn't care. It was so so unbelievable. We will NEVER go to the restaurant again- they wait staff was SO nice and SO good; but management stuck to their "bait and switch" of the website. Attached is the screenshot of the happy hour information we found on their website.
