As a store owner in Oklahoma, I personally recommend all my clients visit Bubble Cafe & Grill to experience authentic Uzbek cuisine in Dallas. Uzbek food represents a rich blend of Eastern European and Central Asian culture, where tradition, hospitality, and flavor come together. The spices are warm and aromatic—not spicy—featuring cumin, coriander, black pepper, paprika, garlic, and bay leaves, creating deep and comforting flavors. From the famous plov to handmade dumplings, noodles, and savory pastries, every dish offers something unique. This cuisine delivers a completely new experience—on a different level of Eastern European and Asian cultural flavors. If you want to explore culture through food, this place is truly special. 🍽️✨ Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something new and authentic.
Outstanding experience at Bubala. The food is powerful, generous, and deeply comforting—evoking the strength and warmth of Siberian kitchens (amazing boiled Pelmeni) where meals are meant to sustain, not perform. The atmosphere feels authentic and grounded, with a real sense of heritage and soul. Service was excellent: welcoming, attentive, and sincere. This is not just a restaurant, it’s a place that carries memory, endurance, and care. Remarkable and absolutely worth returning to.
Amazing authentic food, we had the best tongue salad, the amazing chebureki, and lamb soup- all were great. Chebureki and large, two pieces per order! No alcohol- bring your own I believe . Great place to have gatherings and celebrating special events
I’ve visited all 5 countries in Central Asia and this restaurant is the most authentic cuisine from the region I’ve had outside of it. Plov, manti, samsa, shashlik and the olivier salad were all incredible plus the kompot was super tasty. The medovik was also the best I’ve had anywhere! For anyone looking to try authentic food from Uzbekistan you have to visit Bubala!
First time I tried the Uzbek food and was a delicious experience. I ordered the Lagman thinking it was a soup, but it’s more like a stew, still delicious. Then I asked the writer to suggest a dish and I tried the Pilaf and also delicious. My problem was I was very hungry and didn’t wait for the food to cool down so I burned my tongue a bit
Bubala Café & Grill - Preston Rd. (Dallas) Without a doubt, the absolute best Russian and Eastern European Cuisine in DFW Metroplex‼️ I’ve been here a few times. Here, you’re more than a customer. You’re treated like family. I’ve eaten Pelmeni most of my life, but never tasted fried Pelmeni before. Surprisingly they were really good and delicious. Dipping it in Sour Cream made the flavor extra unique and special. Bubala kitchen did a great job preparing them. My friend, Misha and I came here to unwind, relax and enjoy good, Russian and Uzbek cuisine. Here, every table is white cloth with elegant, yet affordable food menu. The space is great for all group sizes. They offer plenty of tables and chairs. On weekends they are usually fully booked. Be sure to call in advance for reservations. Every dish reminds you of simpler times and the food… Cooked to order. Every bite reminds you of home-cooked meals. Some menu items will specify cook time. That is a nice touch of transparency. In most Russian and Eastern European cultures, you don’t rush through the cooking process or eating process. You’re meant to gather around the table, packed full of meaningful conversation before and during your meal. We ordered, “Boiled and Fried Pelmeni,” “Borsch,” and “Herring Under Furcoat/ Shuba” (Layers of pickled Herring with onions, beets, potato, carrots, eggs and mayo) Portions were generous. Kiril was our waiter and he did a great job. He was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was helpful in answering any questions we had. They’ve been open for five years, at least. What is their success secret? “The key to our success is simple: providing quality consistent food that tastes great every time. We pride ourselves on serving our customers delicious genuine dishes from Eastern Europe.” (Quote from their website) If you’re looking for absolute best Russian and Eastern European dishes, this is the only place to go in all of DFW Metroplex. They do speak English and Russian, for your convenience.
Great service, food came out quick and hot. Beautiful presentation. the vegetarian borscht was amazing. You can ask to split the servings into two bowls, if you and another person want to save room for other menu items. although I could have eaten the full serving as my dinner. It was delicious!
Loved everything on Saturday but didn't know about the live loud music blaring through 4 loud speakers and performed by live singers on music machine made the conversation with our buddies made it impossible. That was a negative for us. Gratuity of 20% of 5 or more people was a true pain point for us.
Amazing Russian food. It was definitely a lot for 2 people, which goes to say that the portion sizes were really good. We got the beef Stroganoff with mashed potatoes, khachapuri (bread stuffed with loads of melted cheese 🧀and a fried egg🍳) which was a first for us and absolutely delicious and filling. I think the best part of the meal was the honey cake🍰 we got for dessert.
The food was absolutely amazing! So delicious and high quality. We came from another state to visit Dallas and made a dinner reservation in advance. We arrived earlier than our reserved time, but they seated us without any problem. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. The food came out pretty fast, everything was fresh, hot, and tasty. For our group of five, the tip was automatically included in the bill. Overall, a great place for a nice dinner!
The food was fantastic. My wife and I were specifically going out to look for a place that had something similar to Russian food(my wife being russian). You will not be disappointed wth the food. Unfortunately, they dont have alcohol in the house, but they do allow you to bring your own. It was a bit slow on the day we went, but I would definitely go back!
Had Polov/Pilaf, Lagman soup and my friends ordered chicken kebabs and veggie samsa. Just heavenly! I would recommend this restaurant for people who can’t handle heavily spiced food but still want a very tasty meal. The food is very well balanced, rich, big servings, extremely flavorful without dumping tonnes of spice. I called my friend and told her she absolutely must try this place. Service was superb. Food was quickly served. I especially liked that the menu shows what meals will take more time to make and the approximate time. Bubala Bubala Bubalovely!! Bubalicious!!
The restaurant is incredibly clean and is beautifully decorated with murals, bookshelves full of trinkets, and a fake fireplace. I think this is the best food I’ve ever had. Every single plate tastes amazing and I will definitely be going back. The food came out fast as well and the servers were really nice.
Came here with my parents and younger sister for a special occasion. We came one hour until the kitchen closed. That did not deter them from having great, friendly, and efficient service and amazing, fresh food! Everything we ordered was perfect. The presentation and flavors were both great and the food was extremely fresh. I would definitely come here again.
Okay Dallas! You need to try this location! IT’S AMAZING! The food it’s absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is so fun with the Belly Dancers! We are very adventurous when it comes to food, and we enjoyed all the authentic dishes they offered. Everything was well seasoned and so flavorful. Definitely a must for date night or a special occasion. Thank you so much for such a great experience trying our first Uzbek and Eastern European cuisine! We will be back.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great show! We only intended on ordering two main dishes, one appetizer and one dessert but ended up ordering a lot more! Everything was amazing and we still want to come back to try what we didn’t get to order. The belly dancer was so entertaining and interacted with the people. The singer sang in at least 3 languages and people got up to dance throughout the night. If you want a dinner to remember, this restaurant is a must!
I went to Bubala with a large party and service was family-style. The wait staff was very good. Russian and English is spoken here. Many traditional dishes were served in several 'courses'. New dishes showed up every once in awhile. To begin we were served salted veggies (gerkins, cabbage, mushrooms, tomato, etc.) As well as herring, potato and raw red onion. The house made bread was excellent as was the cheese bread. The roasted eggplant dish was very good. A large serving of lamb, chicken and beef skewers (skewers removed) with sauce - which failed to get the name of - was brought out and was very good. I was with a group of Uzbeki ex-pats and didn't have order but I would go back on my own (100% American here) as the staff is friendly and happy to share info on the dishes. If you haven't eaten this type of cuisine before you'll need to mildly adventurous as some dishes like the veggie appetizers are quick pickled and can seem 'salty' to American palates. On a scale of 1-10, a 3. The herring is more like an 7 unless you enjoy caviar then it will be a 1. It's a casual atmosphere with linen covered tables that are put together for groups. Will need to go back for another experience but this first one was great.
Went here with party of 8 for bday party. This is byob place so bring your own alcohol. There is a kroger and Tom thumb close by in case you forget. We ordered the beef cabbage rolls and the lamb shank. Both prepared nicely and were tasty. I preferred the cabbage rolls. Both were good options however. For dessert, we had the Napoleon cake. I hadn't had one in many years, so it was nice. Was not the best one I've had, but it was good. The service was a bit slow and you had to flag them down if you wanted something. Overall, I would recommend this place for Uzbekistan food.
This place serves Russian / Uzbekzi comfort foods which you can’t find a lot around Dallas. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. I love their eggplant cold dish, ADJAPSANDALI and try some of their really good dumplings. The cabbage rolls are super good, very well seasoned. Service are very attentive and the foods came out quickly. Do note they charge 20% gratuity after 5PM.
This restaurant used to serve the best Russian food in town — until they changed the chef. Since then, the quality has gone downhill. The beef kebab is now dry, the shuba salad had eggshells in it, and many dishes include random, mismatched ingredients like potato chips. My Lula Kebab arrived torn into pieces (as shown in the photo), and the Kharcho soup came with a huge chunk of fat still attached to the meat. Everything was excellent before the chef change. Please bring back the previous cook who truly understood the cuisine.
