Amazing from start to finish. I loved the outdoor seating, and the dog-friendly touches were a great surprise. The complimentary dog treats were super cute and a thoughtful detail. The steak bowl and salmon bowl were both delicious and satisfying - honestly, I would’ve eaten here again if I hadn’t run out of days. The drinks were refreshing and well-balanced, perfect for the setting. The corn fritters were good, keep in mind they’re definitely more of a shareable plate. They don’t reheat well, so they’re best enjoyed fresh at the table. I'm not sure I'd order them again. Overall, Loro is a great spot for good food, good drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere. Would absolutely return.
Sorry. I didn't take enough pictures. We had the pork totadas, Thai chilli ribs for starters, smoked butchers cut & something else. It was all good.
The service is really good here. The brisket sandwich was really good. Not too heavy but lots of great flavors. I would have liked more papaya salad on the side. The pickles have the prefect crunch. The shishito queso went really well with the kimchi furikake. I dipped the crunchy potatoes in it. Nothing was oily. Only think i thought was good but could have done without was the karaage, which was good for kids, but maybe a bit bland for adults. The outdoor seating was well shaded.
Food was incredibly delcious! First time going and we tried a bunch of food and loved it all. Pulled Pork Tostadas and Oak Grilled Edamame were some of our favorites but everything was great! The Kyori Mule also was delectable, light and refreshing. Highly recommend
Great service, great food, the atmosphere and vibe was immaculate. My server jarred, and Jeremy were SO amazing, like i would befriend them if i could, they were so kind. I was definitely recommend loro. They also have really good tofu, which if you’re a vegetarian i would recommend the tofu and rice bowl! 10/10
Interesting and particular taste! Service is 5 stars. Ordered a double smashed burger with crispy potatoes ($15 lunch special). Those spuds were truly and satisfyingly crispy but the sauce/sesame made them interesting. Would’ve loved some lettuce and tomato on the burger 🍔 Place is clean and has good vibes 😎
Very rare a restaurant checks all the boxes, and this place does it overwhelmingly. Adequetly priced food, a wonderful variety of flavors that complement the atmosphere, and a staff that takes pride in every thing they do. I tried the butchers cut and Grayson was able to get me grilled shishitos that weren’t explicitly on the menu without fuss, that’s a love for your workplace and a deviation to the customer experience that is needed more in our society. Jennifer running the show behind the bar made the experience all the more memorable, and made me feel at home. It’s rare I write a review after only trying a place once but this restaurant performed to the highest standard and deserves all the accolades that come with running a great business. I will definitely be coming back and recommending Loro to friends and family. When it comes to fusion type restaurants it can be hit or miss, and this place HITS. The subtle fusion of Asian flavors with a Texas bbq undercut makes it feel like the food is common, and not something foreign to the tastebuds or a “risk” as one feels when trying a fusion dish for the first time. Steaks are cooked to order and they offer a variety of smoked pork products along with a smoked salmon dip appetizer that introduces you to the Smokey Asian flavors they specialize in. I ordered the smoked butchers cut and the shishito salsa verde paired perfectly with the pickled red onions and tenderloin. Seasoned perfectly and plated as if it was a Michelin starred kitchen. The house-made yuzu soda was a gift that kept giving, every sip reminding you this place means business. And the Sapporo beer is an excellent sip to take you out of Texas and into a different place across the pacific, pairing perfectly with the smoked meats and adding to the Asian inspired experience. Overall this restaurant is a 5 out of 5 and I would HIGHLY recommend making a visit.
I love this location so much! I have been going to both locations for over 2 years and ate there 2-3 times a week. The flavors are brilliantly coupled, the portion sizes are well worth the value, and the service is kind and gracious. At this point the only downside is they only have two locations.
This place was recommended to me and was told to exceed expectations... Let's find out. The design sets a new standard for a dining experience, harmoniously blending the rustic allure of a Texas smokehouse with the dynamic spirit of an Asian restaurant. This unique fusion creates an atmosphere that’s both comforting and exciting. The deliberate use of wood tables, communal bench seating, and abundant indoor and outdoor spaces encourages a relaxed and engaging environment where guests feel right at home. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and the pairings with drinks. Parking wasn't too bad, I was able to find parking the free parking lot which there were quite a few spots available. Drinks... I ordered the slushee flight (Trying Any 3 Boozy Slushes). I chose the Mango Sake Slushee, Spicy Watermelon Margarita, and Killer Colada. Food... For an Appetizer, I chose the Chicken Karaage and for main course I selected the Smoked Beef Brisket paired with the Charred Broccoli. Dinner Summary... The Boozy Slushees were a great refreshing start to the dining experience here at Loro. The Chicken Karaage was a bit crispier than I would have liked, but the dish was seasoned well and the Chili Aioli was the perfect sauce to add to the crispy chicken. The smoked beef brisket was INCREDIBLE. The thickness of the cut was on the thinner side, but easy to cut and I couldnt get enough of the chili gastrique with the brisket it was *chefs kiss* awesome. But I must say the best part of the meal was the charred broccoli. The broccoli was cooked perfectly with crispy char on each piece and the spicy ponzu, chili crunch, and lemon zest make it an absolute stand out. Overall, it was an absolutely delicious and unique dining experience. I will be back soon to try more options on the menu. 10/10 Highly Recommend.
The design seamlessly blends the rustic charm of a Texas smokehouse with the vibrant feel of an Asian restaurant, creating a truly distinctive ambiance that sets the stage for a great dining experience. The wood tables, bench seating, and ample indoor and outdoor spaces contribute to a comfortable and engaging environment. Okay ready, the food – it's truly a revelation! Loro masterfully marries the smoky richness of Texas BBQ with the bold and exciting flavors. Crispy Thai Pork Ribs!! These are highly recommended, with a beautiful, subtle smokiness and a touch of sauce to enhance the flavor. Brisket is wonderful. The flavor is something truly unique and rad!
Loro is a lively place with both outdoor and indoor seating. Hubby ordered Smoked Beef Brisket, and I ordered Crispy Thai Pork ribs. Our sides were Crunchy Sweet Corn Fritters and Coconut Scented Rice. The portion sizes were decent. I absolutely loved my ribs. They were flavorful and tender. Hubby loved his brisket.
Everything was so flavorful & delicious. Our server was so generous and knowledgeable of the menu. I don't usually like pork, but our server convinced us to try some pork ribs and they were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere of this place is excellent and I can't wait to come back for a happy hour one day.
This place is absolutely delicious. From the first interaction with the staff, you can tell they all love and care for what they do. The hostess and our waiter was extremely helpful for our first time and made awesome recommendations. I had the crispy smoked chicken sandwich, crispy potatoes, brisket tostadas, and then we tried the smoked beef brisket. Everything was amazingly delicious. The chicken sandwich is to die for. Hands down the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. They add the beef fat to the hot sauce I believe which gives it a great taste. Everything we tried was fresh and you could tell love and care went into the preparation and execution. Can't wait to come back and bring some friends. Their table set up outside was awesome for a beautiful lunch on a Saturday.
An interesting Asian Smokehouse fusion with good appetizers and BBQ fusion concepts. Went here with a friend on a Tues night. Moderately busy but plenty of seating in tables or booths. A little bit loud for conversation but not too bad. Service was super friendly and helpful with good menu suggestions being it was my first time here. My friend and I got the chicken karaage $12 and the fritters $9. I got the char siu pork rice bowl and he got the salmon bowl. I liked the chicken karaage. It wasn't super fried, a little sweet but not as sweet as I saw with other reviews. Good with the aioli dipping sauce. Not super authentic but tasty. The corn fritters I liked a lot. Actually crisper than the karaage with a nice crunch. Good flavor. For the char siu pork bowl, it had several pickled veggie components fyi if you don't like pickled veggies with a chili fish sauce you can add that added a nice freshness to the bowl and wasn't too spicy. Unfortunately some of the pork was overcooked or tough. Overall an enjoyable meal. The bowl was reasonably priced at $15 but a little pricier than I'd like given the quality. My friend said the salmon bowl $16 had great smoked flavor and was well cooked but the portion size was small compared to the rice and veggies. The char siu portion size was okay but the appetizers definitely helped make sure we were full. Could see this being a good place for groups. Would come again!
Southern service was great, we went to celebrate and the atmosphere truly set the tone. My partner was very critical of the food, but particularly enjoyed the sides/fixins the most(on top of desserts **chef’s kiss for dimple done right). Came in right towards the end of happy hour, a time was had thanks to our great server, thanks guys!
We went to Loro to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The atmosphere at Loro is fun and great for a large group birthday celebration. We were able to get in without a reservation and have a table large enough for all of us. Service for the most part was good; however, there was a small error or two in the drinks. The food was generally of good quality. I tried the pork belly, pork ribs, and broccoli and thought all of it was pretty good but not excellent. Overall, I am glad I have been to Loro and think it is a unique concept but I think there would be other restaurants in a similar category that I pick before Loro.
This place has alot of good things; vibe, food, drinks, servers, and bartender. You may notice that most of dishes don't have the spice you expect for an Asian fusion joint but they do provide three spicey sauces on the side that really made my sandwich super good. I'd definitely come back!
Returning to Loro a few years later…hmmm, some interesting menu changes. We were only 3 people but ordered enough for 7! 🤭 For starters, we tried the Smoked Shishito Queso w/ Brisket, it came with tostadas; also got their Chicken Karaage. Have to say the queso did not disappoint, was not spicy, flavors went great with pretty much everything we dipped into it. Chicken Karaage (which we order at every Japanese or fusion resto that has it) was surprisingly crispy, not oily, did not need the sauce it came with since we also dipped it in the queso. 😆 These came in the middle of the meal though. They started bringing the Sesame Rice noodles and Seaweed salad first. Noodles had a nice flavor, can’t say the same for the seaweed…to reminiscent of tropical summers when the tide was low and seaweed by the shore was roasting in the sun. Not the best aroma. The salads arrived, and we shared a Chilled Ginger Noodle Salad, I expected rice noodles so that was a bit disappointing, but still flavorful and topped with curry shrimp. Then the Char Siew Pork Belly in Lettuce wraps came, was ok, tasted better when I added the radish from another dish and topped it with queso (I’m telling you it’s great on anything). We also tried the Oak Smoked Grilled Steak rice bowl, which had the thin sliced radishes that went on the Lettuce wraps. What can I say, we like to complicate our food ☺️ Some of the sides we tried were the Coconut rice and Charred Broccoli. The coconut rice was m’kay, but was already full from all the veg, but the broccoli was nicely done, also great with queso. In a nutshell, the food had definite winners, and some flavors are an acquired taste. The service was also good, we also came at a less busy time, so we got our orders pretty quickly. Thank you also for the Piña Horchata and Mango Rodeo samples. They were gone pretty quickly. ❤️ FYI, they gave us a 20% discount as Healthcare workers. Yes! Better than the $15 Target gift card we got every Christmas LOL
My partner had wanted to try this restaurant for a while, so we did. Overall, it was satisfactory but not great. She had the pork belly bowl, and was satisfied with it. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was good, but the slaw overbalanced the pulled pork so the balance of flavors was not optimal. The corn fritters were excellent although a slightly more generous serving of the sauce that came with them would have been good. It's an order at the counter, then they bring you your food kind of place. Oddly, each one of our dishes came out separately, and the corn fritters didn't come first. Water, silverware, and napkins were also self-service. At this price point (our food only meal totalled $45 with no drinks), I find these arrangements not to be conducive to an optimal dining experience. I wouldn't refuse to go back, but it's also not on my favorite restaurant list as a result of our visit.
I was immediately intrigued by Loro. The idea of an Asian smokehouse suggests integration, depth, and a thoughtful fusion of techniques and flavors. Expectations were high, and I was genuinely excited to try it. Unfortunately, those expectations outpaced reality. Rather than experiencing a true fusion, the meal felt like two worlds sitting beside one another. Asian flavors on one plate, Texas barbecue on another, without the cohesion or interplay that would make the concept feel fully realized. We visited in the early evening. Parking was easy, and the restaurant leaned mostly toward dine in service, with some takeout orders moving through as well. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. They explained the ordering process, offered recommendations, and made an effort to connect, which I appreciated. We did have one dish arrive that was clearly off. The wonton chips and dip were overly salty and essentially inedible. Initially, the server pushed back and insisted there was no salt in the sauce. Eventually, they removed the dish and replaced it with the smoked salmon dip at no charge, which was significantly better. While the correction was appreciated, there was no acknowledgment that something had gone wrong, which left the moment feeling unresolved. The standout of the entire meal was the grilled edamame. It was exceptional. The flavor was bold, intriguing, and deeply satisfying. Each pod demanded another bite and genuinely changed how I think about edamame as a dish. For my main, I ordered the sampler with brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings, and two sides. The pulled pork was the strongest of the proteins and quite enjoyable. The brisket, however, was dry and dull, which is particularly disappointing when serving barbecue in Texas. The chicken wings were fried and sauced but largely forgettable. The vinegared vegetables did not complement the meal and left the palate searching for balance. The sides followed a similar pattern. The potatoes were unremarkable, while the coleslaw was well done and paired nicely with the barbecue. Three sauces were delivered without any explanation of which paired with which protein. We tried them all, but none stood out as particularly well matched. For a dine in experience, the use of single use sauce cups also felt unnecessary. In the end, this is a solid three star experience. It is close to four stars, but tightening the flavors, refining execution, and delivering on the promise of true integration rather than adjacency would make a meaningful difference. My rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 stars) Rating scale: 1 star — I will never return. 2 stars — If nearby, I might return, but without urgency. 3 stars — Worth a visit if in the area, though not a destination. 4 stars — Worth going out of your way to enjoy. 5 stars — I would fly around the world for this meal.
