Haven't been to a Lubys in a while, so the process was a little confusing. But the food was good. Dinning room was clean and service was outstanding.

Of all the restaurants I have reviewed and commented on, this place is number 1 for American food. Taste,variety, and quality of food. Service in the serving line is excellent. The only negative is the waiting in line. But that’s the price you pay when everyone else wants to eat there too.

This was my first visit and I was impressed! It reminder me of the Piccadilly from home but better. The options and cleanliness were awesome but what made the entire visit right was our waiter, Derrick/Derek. He was phenomenal! He anticipated our needs to the point where I was honestly shocked! I've been to several boujie restaurants and NONE of them could hold any kind of candle to his kindness, courtesy and high attention to details. We will return. It was a great experience.

There is nothing like Luby’s. The best cafeteria food in Texas! I always get a LuAnn platter with whitefish, Mac and Cheese, Broccoli, and the cucumber tomato salad. Yum!

I grew up going to the place long time ago im telling my age now. Young people don't eat here but they should it healthy just add your seasoning that's all you need.

It's definitely a throwback to a time when things were different. The wait staff was really good, very friendly & helpful. There was a wide selection of food. It wasn't crowded, but we got there really early.

Food is always good at the location on Midway and 635. They closed the location in Plano, so this is the nearest location. My family would meet here to enjoy each other's company and have a pre Christmas dinner.

I chose a creamy baked fish with tartar sauce, broccoli with rice and cheese, and boiled cabbage. I also got a lime cottage cheese with pineapple and pecans congealed salad cup for my dessert. Everything was good and fresh. Nothing beats a healthy meal instead of choosing fast food. I enjoyed the 70's lite rock music playing in the background.

We had lunch here today. I got a ribeye steak and it was 6/10 . Everything else was delicious .

Wow, Luby's has changed! I was hard-pressed to find a location still open after Covid-19 nearly sounded the death knell for all cafeterias. The Farmers Branch site has never looked better with fresh upholstery and new tile floors. With the addition of four big screen televisions and the Pet Shop Boys " West End Girls" playing softly on the sound system, it made for a relaxing dining experience. I got here just 5 minutes after they opened and beat the lunch crowd. I had the Baked Almondine on the LuAnn platter with spinach and cheesy vegetable rice casserole. It took a lot of willpower to resist those delicious pies they had on display. Maybe next trip. I dined for just under $13. and that included the tip. The staff was friendly and the bathroom spotless. Highly recommended. 👍 👌

Went there this evening for dinner. Food was great, employees were super friendly. And TY to the gentleman in the turquoise shirt, who might have been a manager, that helped my dad to the table and had conversation with it!

What we like best is the wide variety of meat, veggies, salads and desserts. Way too many restaurants offer limited variations esp of veggies and desserts. I am tired of seeing cheesecake everywhere as 1 of 3 desserts. 😒

I have been eating at Luby's since 2014 at different locations around DFW. This is the closest to a home cooked meal I can get when I am on the run and don't have time to cook. During the last few holidays when I picked up extra shifts for work, I always run in to grab the turkey and dressings. I'm a creature of habit so my go to on other days are the liver and onions. My daughter loves their salmon or tilapia and my mom has to get her meals from Luby's as soon as she gets off the plane!

This place has great portions for the dollar. They have a good variety of food. Great sides. Relatively cheap given the amount of food patrons get. The line wasn’t long on the day I went. Quick walk through. We were greeted were greeted quickly when the staff walked around. Luby’s is a great place.

It was my First time at this location. I had been looking for a Lubby's since most of them have closed down in Dallas. I'm so Happy this one is still open, because I had been CRAVING their Liver and Onions with brown gravy. I also had a side of their rice and mashed potatoes with white gravy, along with their jalapeño corn bread, let me just say it was so Good that I just inhaled my food. Our Waitress was so kind and attentive. The Atmosphere was Nice, Clean and Quiet. I will definitely go back.

One of the few Luby’s left in Dallas, and they still serve the LouAnn platter! This place is still packed at lunch, but the line moves quickly. The desserts are still fantastic! Not many handicap parking spaces, but the parking lot is immediately in front of the building. Service at the table was also very good.

My professional servers Angie and Abby, welcomed me with a smile and frequently checked on me to assure that I was receiving an excellent dining experience. Not only was the hospitality GREAT but so was my stuffed spinach salmon platter. I shall return.

Lubys was just like I remember it .. Walking in it was very nalstagic for me with all the great smells it really brought me back. The food did not disappoint and the desserts are still on point. Great pricing and the staff is friendly definitely coming back.

Luby's has been elevated in my book to special occasion status. My most recent visit was my choice as family gathering in celebration of my birthday. My left foot was in a post surgical "boot" hindering my ability to walk normally and was recognized by a Luby's employee to which my tray was carried for me to my table of choice. Liver and onions is often my choice at Luby's because they make it so tender you can cut it with a fork.

We enjoyed our meal , or should I say meals lol. Definitely lives up to being a full buffet. The food was fresh , and changed out when needed.we were seated quickly and just really enjoyed our experience. The food , is just excellent.

This is the best Luby's location in the Dallas area. The staff are efficient and seem to like working there (not just waiting for quitting time or to get done with that next customer). Some smiling and greeting you enthusiastically can start your meal off right. The cooking staff were keeping everything topped off and hot. The food itself was up to the high quality I would wish from Luby's. The atmosphere/decore/cleanliness was top notch. I'm not sure how long this location has been open, but it's the best one I've been to in decades. As someone who has been going to Lucy's for over 40 years, I comment the folks responsible for this location for doing things right and well.

We have eaten here several times now and it is a great experience. The food is excellent and there is enough variety to satisfy most everyone, and the cost is reasonable for the two of us. There is plenty of comfortable seating here and there are usually at least 2 servers for the area we are in. We usually dont have to wait very long at all for assistance. My only issue might be the noise level as family's bring all their kids and as expected their volume control periodically glitches, lol. Overall we highly recommend this place.

My friend and I visited this store last week in Farmers Branch. The food was so delicious and hot. Friendly warm atmosphere. Once we sat down, the manager Derrick made sure that he was attentive to anything we needed. I just want to say great job management, great location. We will be back.

Have always been a Luby’s fan I love this location for the fresh food and the great service. Pavla is the best we always sit in her section. She is very attentive we always have refills napkins and whatever else we forget to get while in line. I’m sure all wait staff are very good but it’s a family tradition now to go and sit in Pavla’s section.

I’m from Mesquite and I’ve been going to Luby‘s practically all my life. One of the best places to go eat for home-cooked food and a great atmosphere… One of the servers there by the name of Randy, I followed him from the Mesquite Luby’s that closed to the Rockwell Luby’s that has also closed to the Luby’s here in Dallas off Midway… One of the nicest servers that you will ever meet that loves his job, and you can tell by the smile on his face… I’m just praying this Luby’s stays open for the rest of my life and Randy is always here to serve… I’m one very satisfied customer…😁

This lubys by far has never disappointed. Been going here since I was a child. Love the Almond Fish as its my to go dish all the time till this day. Sweet tea is so good and gotta love the white gravy solo or on my mash potatoes. I miss the lubys that was located off of I-35 years ago but it got taken down. This location still beats all other locations. Please dont shut this place down, ever!!!. I always go back just as many other do.

The food was very delicious. The service line was great The cashier Somaji needs to be alittle friendlier, her customer service was unsatisfactory. We loved Kris as our waiter. I absolutely love Luby's. My dad has been taking me here since I was 5 years old. The pumpkin pie tastes like home and Thanksgiving haha. If I lived near this Lubys I would prolly eat here every single day. I'm so surprised this is one of thr few remaining locations left in Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex. If you've ever been fan of incredible cafeteria food then this place is for you.

This Lubys is a treasure. Only recently learned that this food Mecca from 70s and 80s still has cafeterias open. I tried several foods that were favorites from the past to see how they held up. Liver and onions, macaroni and other vegies still taste as good as I remember. Apparently a lot of people feel like I do because the lines are long but move steadily. I got their Key Lime pie to compare it with some I’ve made. The colors were muted and it seemed lackluster. Until I tasted it. Not quite as good as the best, but in its old fashioned way, was delicious. It takes a lot to keep the food looking presentable and tasting fresh. Just watch how the service crew are non-stop action to keep food items refreshed and moist. Couldn’t wait to tell my friends, but my friends were “So what?” They already knew and eat there on occasion. So, maybe I’m the last one to find out that it’s well worth the drive to North Dallas? I’ll be going back.

I was so excited to find this Luby's! It had been so many years to find one. So many of them closed and I'm happy to see a few restaurants are here now available. Food was fantastic as usual and as I remembered! Presentation was awesome! And everyone was so efficient and cared about you enjoying your experience. Staff checked often to see if there was anything they could do to help you. I certainly will return to this restaurant because at the delicious food, the caring staff, and the ambiance. My son and I were so excited to see a Luby's !! It was a family favorite when my kids were young. They closed all the ones near us, sadly. Of course, I had to get the fried fish plate...yummm ...soft flaky white fish with perfectly crisp coating. Then I remembered the perfect coconut cream (real cream , not meringue) pie! The salmon here is delicious. The variety of food is unbelievable. Fresh home cooked vegetables with a huge variety to choose from. The waitstaff in the front helps carry your tray of food to the table you like to sit at. A very clean restaurant with a mild volume rate. Overall a great family hospitality restaurant. My wife and I had a great time at Luby's and the food is always top-notch, 100% cream of the crop. I especially love the baked lighting with the think it's either a Miracle Whip or Hellman's mayonnaise topping it is so good. My wife had the big head out and a bunch of other things on her plate so we'll always go back to Luby's because they are the best cafeteria anywhere.

I was so pumped the other day when I was away from home & saw a Luby's. I thought they had all closed down. I talked my daughter into going with me the next day. I told her don't look at the prices, I want you to order what looks good to you. Boy, was she impressed with her roast beef...actually everything on her plate and mine. We were sharing everything. I got to share one of my favorite childhood restaurants with my 29 yr old daughter. I got the sirloin steak...and it was absolutely marvelous. Even the fat was juicy, and delectable. That was part of my favorite as a child. And those flavors definitely took me back to my childhood, the way my momma used to cook. Mmmmhmmm❣️😋 She also couldn't believe how reasonable the price was. Standard cafeteria food. Kind of pricey for what you get, we spent $37 plus tip for lunch for two. Any fast casual restaurant would be about the same or less and get table top service as well. I guess that is why cafeterias are nearly extinct.

Who doesn't love Lubys, apparently a lot of people since they are vanishing. Great fish as always, had to take my kids to one of my favorites back in the day.

Food, service, and atmosphere were good. The line was pretty long and slow. I've not been to a Luby's in years, but I will be back if in the area. And would recommend to others if you like a variety of items!

I went to the Lubys on Midway, it was ok. I had to give it all threes. The food wasn't bad, but the food at the Lubys on 67 and Hampton is one of the best in Dallas. I ordered mine online to go because the line at the Midway location is way to long, so therefore the atmosphere is medium. I can't really speak on the service because I didn't eat in.

Went for Thanksgiving Dinner the line was out the door. We waited over an hour to be served cafeteria style. The turkey dinner was decent.

I called about 3 weeks ago, in had read a post on Facebook in regards to an item they served on Fridays, the person had me on hold and I waited and waited, the person hung the phone up , so I called back and asked to speak to manager and sadly it was the manager that hung up on me, I just didn't want to drive cross town and the item I wanted wasn't being served 😢 I always thought that the potential customer on the phone was just important 😢 People just got to STOP allowing bad Behavior to make business ethics off, I'm not sure that I'm going there now.

I got the kids meal chopped steak. I mean it's decent food but nothing to write home about. The seasoning in the food is not so great so if you like well seasoned food then don't go here at all. My husband says he will never go back and my 7yr old is okay with it. She says she likes it and are all her dood last time we all went together again. So since my husband don't like it I usually get something during lunch hour at work.

Love coming to Luby’s. We don’t have one where we live. The table servers were awesome. But the food servers were rude as hell. Food made up for it. But just got under my skin with the food servers.

I hadn't been to Lubys in 20 years and it hasn't changed a bit. It's still filled with old folks (what does that make me, lol), the food looks like it's been sitting out all day, and the waitress only came by once. Never got a refill on my drink. It's very nostalgic, and they still have the Luanne Platter, but I can't recommend it very strongly.

Great selection but please pay servers a decent wage!!! We are not obligated to tip for pushy service. Please designate a senior or handicap section. My mother shouldn’t have to sit at the back of the restaurant. She walks with a cane; I’ve carried her tray many times when they were slammed. No problem with that but when they are slow the servers are pushy. I think they look at our ethnicity and assume we don’t tip. We will still go because the food is great, but we will not tip from now on. No tips whatsoever. Servers burned that bridge. The passive aggression from the cashier to request cash back from a credit card to tip the servers? No thank you. Latinas you should know better than to be pushy.

I heard about this restaurant and my family took me there. The fish was overcooked. The fish nor the rest of the meal had any seasoning. The peach cobbler was disgusting. I threw it all in the garbage. You need some chefs in there that know how to cook and season good. I was visiting from out of town. I will not eat there again. 😤

To be honest that food was super bad terrible and who put pork in the greensbeens and it was a hair on my food bad experience if you ready this trust me thinks twice to go there

Placed a $130 Uber order and spoke to manager to add condiments not available online but are complimentary in the restaurant. He agreed to included them with the order, although reluctant. When order arrived the condiment were missing, it sems to me that he was just agreeing just to get me off the phone. This is very disappointing which makes it hard to remain a loyal customer. Food as always is great, I applaud the staff.

I came to Luby’s on Midway today around noon the food and service was great. My issue is with the Restaurant allowing a dog 🐕 to be there, dog hair flies it’s open buffet food and it’s just nasty. As I was sitting at the long booth a lady came and sat her dog right next to me ( it jumped up in the seat) I immediately got up and left. The African American Male waiter ( been there for years) saw this transpiring also…..I know folks have service dog 🐕‍🦺 nevertheless all animals should remain in the floor and in the car if not service animal. If it was a service animal keep it under the table near the owner period. Everybody don’t want dogs at their table I was very offended and this Restaurant should have a policy in place for people with animal and the sanitary aspects and uncomfortable nature of this act. I’m appalled and disappointed. Do better!

Be careful eating here. My wife and ate lunch here one day and decided to ride together to run errands and come back for my truck. When I got back they had towed my truck for being in the parking lot too long. I explained to the manager that I ate at his establishment and didn't just randomly park there. He was completely dismissive and show no concern. I had to pay $350 to get my truck out only to find out the tow truck driver destroyed my transmission while towing it. This lunch has now cost me over $5000....DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

A friend and I decided to have a late lunch after being told earlier in the morning that someone special to us transitioned. She was on hospice and we were sad and relieved because..she didn’t have to suffer any longer. We made a choice to go to Luby’s because we believed that we could get some “comfort” food. The person that served my food.. just threw it on the plate. I mentioned to her that presentation is everything.. another worker gave me another serving of what I ordered on another plate. I was grateful. My friend got all vegetables and we proceeded to sit down at a table. I discovered that the food was not hot and a floor server warmed it.. My friend and I tasted our food. It was not palatable at all!! We have been to this Midway location several times. Most recently, we haven’t been satisfied. We believed each time that the food would improve. It was much better several years ago. It is a privilege to go out to eat during this inflationary period.. and disappointing to waste money. Regrettably, I am sure that we have reached our limit.

I refuse to eat at a place where I’m in line and the manager decides someone goes before me for no valid reason. Also 2 people at the register and yet they act like everyone else in the line is invisible. I couldn’t eat at this establishment and can’t recommend anyone to eat their based off that beyond rude first impression your management and staff gave. I’ll be doing a yelp review as well as reaching out to corporate because the stank attitudes have got to go

Went there Sat. Dec. 4th took a friend who was visiting from out of town, who loved going there the past 7 years.. It has gone Down hill. Kids running around without no regards of elderly or others walking with trays. I told server to ask the parents to ask the kids to be considerate the two parents eye balled me and sent kids over to our area to be even more loud. Unruly, undisciplined kids running around like they are outside reinacting a Lord of Flies movie. Parents were just allowing them to disturb other patrons. Mgmt didn't do anything even after I asked them to tell them to stop running so fast they nearly ran into a guy carrying 4 drinks. What happened to clean and safe environment. Sweet tea was good.. Tables nasty and food was disgusting. Several Dirty tables and the workers just walked past a manager should have been out there cleaning. the old mgmt would never have allowed this. But it's over for Luby's they won't get any money from me. My friend asked for Angus steak it was a hamburger patty made to look like steak. LOL they must think people are idiots or too unrefined to know the difference. Mac and cheese was yucky. Rice nasty. Carpet made my shoes stick . We sat on area near restrooms one table hadn't been cleaned at all. Lubys socks. It should be shut down. I once loved this.place . NO Pies, Cake Slices like before. You can't select Kale salad or toppings for salad. Food was NASTY! Rice undercooked... no napkins the gave us restroom paper towel from roll. They long term workers who were there for years are GONE! New ones DO NOT CARE. floor is sticky. Do not take friends, family you value there. it's not the same. Embarassing. It's lost it's THUNDER and it's on LIFE support. Total TRASH such a shame. My friend loved to visit and go to this location. NO more good service No napkins......this place is ghetto...and super low clas. The energy has left. Terrible server thought pork chop was Angus and acted silly when questioned. Fried okra was great but too salty last few bites. Rice was nasty. Mac and chess was disgusting. Roll was dry. No butter. I usually got kale salad. Not an option. All salad packaged you can't choose your salad. I didn't enjoy. We Spent $48.00 plus gave out 5.00 in tips. Nobody came to ask us I'd we needed anything I had to flag them down. Close down lubys..we will remember the past. Mgmt is bad. The Addison location is.filthy. doors needed to be wiped down.tables nasty. I took a friend there from out of town. Never again. I should have gone to olive garden or anywhere else. Embarrassing..my friend wanted to visit as he heard it was closing. Do the city a favor.Shut down.since it is not same as it used to be in 2017

We typically stop here for food after my family member’s treatment at Medical City before returning to Fort Worth. The food quality, service, and portions are usually great except for yesterday. It appears that there is new management and staff. The food was not fresh. They were recycling food that had obviously been out all day instead of making fresh food, and several items were lukewarm. I am glad this was his last visit because we will not be back.
