This place has some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. My friends took me here after picking me up from Dallas Love-Field for lunch and it was a great way to kick off a weekend in Dallas. The chicken was so crunchy but not greasy, and the sides of the mashed potatoes and creamed corn were delicious. The biscuit was buttery and warm, and my boyfriend also really enjoyed his chicken tenders. Everything was made fresh to order and a lot of locals were here. There’s easy free parking and credit cards are accepted.
Tried Mike's Chicken for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. I got the family meal so I was able to sample a few things to ensure they were good. The chicken was crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked fresh, which I really loved. The sides were solid too...l got the mac and cheese, corn, and mashed potatoes. All of them were good, but the corn was my favorite; the mac was creamy and cheesy 😊 I also got the honey biscuits and those were really good. I’ll definitely be going back. If you haven't tried it yet, put it on your list
My 2nd time here in two days, I had to verify that my own taste buds were not lying to me. Amazing chicken! Mac & Cheese had a slight aftertaste. I will be going back to try more of their sides. Also, did I mention that their chicken is off the charts. My preference only, I wish they had a larger location. Parking was very, very tight. And lastly, I cannot forget to mention how AMAZING the chicken is… 🫡🫶🫡🫶🫡 Also, it stays packed.
I understand it now. It’s not mind blowing. But it’s definitely the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The fries were good. The corn was good. The biscuit was good. The chicken was perfect. Very clean, white meat, chicken good quality.
Listen, all I can say is much respect to Mike's. I am a picky eater and I rarely eat chicken on the bone, but when I say its fresh always. Its fresh always. I appreciate them for looking out for me too, I was coming from working out of town and placed an order with the wrong pick up time. They still made sure my food was fresh when I got there. You cannot beat it. Quality and quantity for sure. Ill take quality food any day over rushed cold food, that's for sure!!!!!!
the only down side is the park spots are snug. almost guaranteed a door ding especially since most people no days do not know how to park. the food is great. prolly the best chicken i have had in my life. if you can not tolerate spicy heat (i am a wuss when it comes to spicy food) the green beans and baked beans had a small kick to it but noting i could not handle. it did not activate my heartburn or anything. most chicken joints the biscuits are like eating dry card board. not here the biscuits where very moist. we wil definitely be back.
Finally got to try mikes after so long. Been wanting to try this place for a while. The food is worth the hype. The chicken is delicious. Food was fresh and tasted great. Service was great as well, we went in during lunch hour it was really busy every employee was hustling to get orders out. Some of the best halal fried chicken you’ll have. Definitely worth a try.
Bottom line: Real fried chicken and it's delicious. Details (lots of 'em): When I ordered the plate with a breast I was told it would be about 20 minutes. As expected, based on reviews. I would've happily waited twice as long for these beauties. Perfectly browned, hot, crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned (not spicy). Biscuits were soft and fresh. Tasted good, too. I hardly ever eat biscuits away from home - not worth the calories - but Mike's were a rare exception. My friend tried her tenders (also not spicy) and pronounced, "These are fabulous!". She approved the mashed potatoes but wasn't thrilled with the cole slaw. It looked really fresh to me and I will find out later tonight. The baked beans looked promising, but I prefer less spice, more sweet. Add some brown sugar, a little mustard, and a lot of onions. Viola! Mama's sweet beans. Hard to beat. I ordered the spicy tenders, mac-n-cheese, and green beans to take home for Hubbles. They all look great, especially the green beans! I popped the top to have a peek at his plate and discovered a heap of gorgeous green beans, piled high. Obviously fresh and hand snapped into fat, bright green pieces of varying size - not the typical tired, wilted, mushy, and sad looking specimen usually offered. Naturally I plucked a large one off the top to sample. I managed my expectations, expecting it to be tough or have no flavor. Preparing to cringe, I bit into a morsel and found it to have exactly the perfect texture that eludes my best home cooking efforts. Seasoning, once again, was just right, too. When was the last time you had memorable green beans? Thank goodness Hubbles is a generous guy who will gladly share! Run, don't walk, to Mike's for freshly fried-to-order chicken, unforgettable green beans, and biscuits that are worth the calories. You'll wonder why you waited so long. Be sure to say "hi" to Mike himself, a quiet and rather studious looking fellow behind the register at his Maple Ave location. My friend said he's planning a Plano location, so yay for that! For years we drove past the Mike's Chicken sign at the end of the Tollway, always wondering what sort of place it was. When my friend and I needed a place to meet between Frisco and Waxahachie, I remembered Mike's. It had great reviews and we met at 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd. I assumed it would be a hole in the wall and planned to eat in the air conditioned comfort of one of our vehicles, but I was wrong. The interior was fresh, clean, spacious, and cool with a modern, slightly steam punk decor. If pressed to suggest an improvement (besides the beans), I would adjust the volume on the mic used to call out order numbers. Lower it when the crowd thins down, please. I jumped when every order number came hollering through. Perfect when the place is packed, but a jarring conversation stopper when it's not. Conclusion: Mike's Chicken is practically perfect in every way. Tell your friends.
When it comes to fried chicken I’d like to consider myself a professional critic and this spot did not disappoint. Seriously. The reviews and stars are well earned. Originally ordered to-go but the chicken exuded so much warmth and aroma, it hit us instantly. We couldn’t wait. Sat and ate on the spot. Food ordered: 3 piece dark meat. ( legs + thighs) The thighs and legs were perfection. Perfect crisp. Perfect level of juiciness. French fries are a MUST! Mashed potatoes hit the spot! (Can’t go wrong with either side tbh) Baked beans were a solid choice traditional and fresh with a twist of their own. Establishment was packed. However, very structured and clean. The place was packed but clean, structured, and well-run. Staff was patient, friendly, and helpful, especially with it being my first visit. They also have a to-go window which you can access from the outside. 10/10! I will definitely be back.
We came here today to donate to Kerr County. The restaurant is much bigger now and has a lot more space! We ordered the half chicken, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and fries. Everything came out piping hot and super fresh — it was definitely worth the wait. The place filled up in just 30 minutes! 🙌🏾🐔
Chicken was spicy and incredibly crispy! I really enjoyed the meal as the seasoning wasn’t overpowering and the heat was just right. The green beans were seasoned and tasty as well, but the Mac n Cheese needed some help. Overall solid chicken option. I will be returning over and over again❣️
Little backstory: I just arrived from Jacksonville, FL having only eaten a fruit bar, biscotti cookies, a energy drink and a coffee. So to say I was hungry when I arrived would not only be accurate but slight understatement. I dont believe my gut grumbles swayed my thoughts on the food but want to be honest cause we're friends here. Now those thoughts. . . I had seen a few foodie videos regarding Mike's as "the best chicken" and being super crisp. While I can't speak to it being the best in Dallas, I will say it was CHWISP and pretty damn good! I ordered the 3 piece spicy dark with mac and green beans as a side, a jalapeno, a churro, a reeses cookie and went with the mike sauce and gravy. Washed down with a beer. As mentioned, the chicken had a solid crunch. I think they used purely a starch like corn or potato because its light and kind of has a stick to your teeth. Maybe sweet potato starch? Either way it retains the juiciness of the chicken and the spice on it was approachable, nothing anything crazy. The jalapeno gave more heat imo. The gruyere mac was creamy and righteous. The green beans were fresh and almost pickled? I cant quite put my finger on the almost twang but i liked them. Salt, pepper and simple. Delicious. The biscuit had a sweet top but wasnt anything to put into my pocket for a midnight bisc nib. A good presence and nice to dunk in their creamy white gravy. The mike sauce is your seemingly standard, creamy pickle juice kissed sauce. The churro was fresh and filled with cream. Classic churro that my tastepit appreciated. I went with the cookie because the cashier Han, mentioned just pulling them from the oven. This thing was gooey with a peanut cookie, chunks of reeses. Rich and righteous without a doubt. For the first place for me to hit in my short visit, Dallas is setting a nice tone for my gut. Would come back for sure.
First time customers, won't be our last.. The prices are so decent for the quantity servings. The chicken is so delicious and crispy whether spicy or regular! My second favorite is the Green beans and Mashed Potatoes!!! Then everything follows. I-say Mike is a 5star Chicken Spot..💯
If you’re looking for the best fried chicken in town, this is the spot! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—seasoned to perfection with just the right balance of spices. The crust has that golden crunch that’s simply irresistible, and every bite bursts with flavor. What truly sets this place apart is the consistency and quality.

Crispy juicy chicken made to order! Enjoyed my 3 piece dark meat meal. I also got Mac n cheese and cream corn as sides and enjoyed it! Takes a little bit for them to cook. So it's not immediate.

Finding a spot serving delicious fried chicken is a difficult task in the DFW area. I find most spots under cook their chicken. Mike's chicken was well seasoned, fresh, crispy and thoroughly cooked. The flavor did remind me of Gus Fried Chicken, but better. The biscuit was flaky and tasty. The fries were cold and had a similar flavor to Popeyes French fries. I will definitely be back. Can't forget the gentlemen from Lafayette, LA who took my order. He was very warm and welcoming. 🥰
Delicious Chicken! The sides were honestly a let down especially when compared to how amazing the chicken tasted. We were offered Mac n Cheese which wasn’t even on the menu. The Mac was basic at best even though it looked great. The creamed corn was good just left me wanting more from it. The mashed potatoes were good, but the chicken stole the show. This place makes everything once you order it, so be prepared to wait at least 15 mins if not more. It’s usually crowded for a good reason. Their prices are fair for Dallas. Staff were friendly. Overall if you love perfectly fried chicken with crispy skin and juicy inside then come give Mike’s a chance.
Pretty good chicken! I can see what the hype is about. I especially enjoyed the sauce options. Also reasonably priced. I ordered to go while there and waited for the order. I enjoyed what I got. However, they messed up my friends order. In their defense, I didn't notice until I got home, so they didn't have a chance to fix the error. They were extremely busy when I stopped by, so that may have contributed to it as well. I definitely don't hold it against them. I would happily go back, next time I'm in the area and want fried chicken.
Great atmosphere, music and nice employees. The food itself was good, but I would like to have a couple of more choices in the menu

The fried okra was good but the chicken was ok. It was dry and lacked the crispy-ness a fried chicken should have. We also had to pay for parking... I would skip this spot

Service is fast so pay attention. They have carved their niche out and are great at it. Really good chicken and a simple atmosphere to just talk and enjoy your food.

I give it a 6 for the crunch on the Bone in chicken I had the plain first and it was not seasoned enough for the hype. The spicy chicken was okay but not the best seasoning and flavor that I was expecting so the sides were not good at all fries 🍟 cold and Mac & cheese was just cheese on pasta. Biscuit was ok but not the best.
One of us has been here before and it seems this visit did not live up to previous experiences. The food was overall okay. Great crisp on the chicken both the tenders and the 3pc dark combo. Flavor wise it was not seasoned very well on the 3pc dark combo but the sauces did help. The mac and cheese noodles were a little on the soft side and the chicken has quite a bit of grease. The did make it fresh though which was greatly appreciated. The fries were good, the biscuit too but nothing special. Only other gripe was that there were no clean tables so we had to clean it by ourselves but they were very busy so it may have been difficult to keep up with in that moment. Service was average. Might return to give it another shot on a day that is not as high volume.
Came to Dallas for a brief weekend and when looking for the best places to eat, Mike’s consistently showed up so I came straight from the airport here. The space was clean and lively with great music in the background and the host did a good job of explaining the menu and setting expectations about wait times. I had the 3pc dark spicy chicken, Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. Paired with the Mike’s sauce, ranch, and honey mustard. Everything came out nice and hot. The flavor for the chicken however stopped at the crispy beautifully colored breading. The chicken itself wasn’t flavorful which was disappointing. The Mac was decent but wasn’t mind blowing. Outside of that I loved the biscuit, creamed corn and the Mike’s sauce.

Been coming to Mike's for awhile now, but damn not sure if I'll be back anytime soon. 1st off a youngster with the Edgar haircut was dapping up all his people instead of taking my order, someone else stepped in and took it. Absolutely no favor to the mac and cheese also so seasoning to the fries. Chicken was a little dry as well.
chicken is good but the customer service is awful. They are NEVER pleasant. They have grown so big that pleasantries are lacking big time. I never tip and I never will.

Ive ordered from this place a couple times and usually no issue but they tend to forget the sauces even when you pay for extra. In this instance I ordered 4 Pcs Tender Spicy, French Fries, White Cheddar Mac & Cheese Biscuit, 2x Mike's Buffalo. I received 1 spicy tender, 3 regular tenders and no sauces. I live about 25 mins away and did a pickup order. I tried calling their number multiple times to notify them on what I received but you cant get through to anyone. I called a few times and you get an automated message of “being too busy” which is understandable if you have ever been there. The fries and biscuit tasted undercooked and soft and the mac and cheese tasted bland and cold. The tenders were good but they weren't what I ordered. Only advice I can say to those coming here is to make sure you double check your order in the bag before you leave to ensure you have the proper chicken. Paying extra for sauces to not receive them has grown frustrating from this place. Usually if I have my own order its easy to do but me and my co workers tend to pick up multiple orders so all we can do is have faith that this restaurant is holding up their end on giving you the food you requested. Yes I will still get food from here but dont trust the restaurant to satisfy your order without you looking yourself.
This is the second time I’ve gotten food from here. First time everything was amazing. Loved it! Was so good I went to the other location the next day. Everything was HOT! So hot my windows were fogging up driving home. Tenders were crispy, fries crunchy. This time around the wait was crazy long. My food was not as hot when handed to me. It was barely warm. I’m thinking the chicken and fries were probably cooked in a large batch and just parted out to orders. I get home after waiting 45 minutes for my order only to find a hair in the Mac and cheese that I paid an extra dollar for: boy what a treat. I can’t call and say anything because they closed at 8. Outside of the hair the Mac is mid and not worth an up charge. I don’t think I’m going to order food from here anymore. My tenders were slightly soggy and fries were like warm. Everything is already do expensive and to find hair in my food is not okay. After working a 12 hour shift opting to dine out to feed my family I’m highly disappointed.
