We love taking our dog here to run around. The food is surprisingly good and so are the drinks. I never thought I'd buy a membership for my dog to go to the park but it's totally worth it!
Ron and Hercules are simply the best part about coming out here for me and my dog, Charli. Hercules is the sheriff of mutts and doesn’t let any of the pooches get bullied without gently putting his body in between the chaos! Dog parks, am I right? One of my favorite spots in Dallas, no doubt.
This review is for the dog park. Haven't tried the restaurant yet, but it's definitely very convenient that it is there. I have signed up for the membership recently and have no regrets. Yes, I agree with some reviewers who mention a pretty steep price for a pass, but if you live nearby and want a relaxing and safe place to let your dog run off some steam, then the membership is the way to go. I am still planning to investigate how and whether the rules regarding "spayed/neutered" and "up to date on vaccinations"have been enforced. The staff members were helpful, and all the dogs and people we've met are very friendly. The atmosphere is very inviting, with live music and all.
Britt was amazing!!! She was so kind and welcoming… our first time there we are def getting a monthly pass because of our experience we brought London pics below. The company was great! There was an aggressive wiener dog who was attacking all the dogs but most of us just realized it was their issue not the parks we all had a great time! Met new people and had some delish drinks.. we did the 3 day promo and we will be buying the pass. The cook wasn’t there and they had to find another person to train.. so we didn’t get to try the food but we will try again tomorrow… good energy and great company and the people were friendly expect the wiener dog and his girlfriend. lol the bar is so close to the dog park that you can grab your drinks and still see your dogs. It’s fantastic. The gates are super secure and easy to use. The chairs are laid back and people are so friendly. Brit walked us through the park and showed us how to use the equipment. Thank you! It was one of the best dog parks in the city and it’s great to drink and be with our pup!
Its a great place for you take you dog to learn how to socialize and release all the energy. Didn’t try the food but it looked mainstream American. The staff is great, they clean up where parents miss cleanup, and control the playground when the Dodo’s get out of control. The selection of beer is satisfactory, I think they have some other drink options but didn’t partake. Definitely bring the family out. Take care of cleaning up after your Dodo, and don’t let your dog bully! Enjoy!
We had the best time here! This is an awesome neighbor hangout spot for locals or people visiting the area with their pups. The food was good and the park set up was excellent. There was plenty of room to run and play and hangout for the little ones. I would definitely go out of my way again to come back here especially when the weather is nice.
Benito absolutely loves Mutts! The atmosphere is inviting and friendly! The crispy chicken burgers here are AMAZING! Oh my gosh I don’t think I’ve ever had such a good chicken sandwich!!! And don’t even get me started on their fried pickles! They’re to die for. Their beer selection is pretty big and so far the only dog friendly place with my favorite beer! This is my go to weekend spot for my pup and I. This is a great spot to host your dogs birthday PAWty!
Amazing place to take your dog. There is the dog park if you want to let them run free while you drink or the benches where you can eat with them as well. They have really cute items to eat too like the hot dog with a dog biscuit or the ice cream with peanut butter. This place overall is very cool if you have pets.
Cool concept! Bar and dog park, combined. Plenty of shade for hot Dallas days. Check out their specials and events. Lady and the Tramp movie screening was on the calendar when we were there. This location is right next to The Rustic. Easy to find and plenty of parking on the street.
I like to come to this place every weekend, is a good place but I have to set 4 stars because the bathroom isn't so good
Super cute concept. Bar, snacks, dog park, watering stations and clean up stations for the dogs. Took pix with Santa. With all the water, the ground does get a little muddy. Dogs ran free and played. My girls were exhausted afterward. Parking is a little hard to find downtown. Wish they would've mentioned to bring a towel for the dogs or had them there. Everyone there was friendly. One short dog fight and they blew an air horn and it broke up as quickly as it'd started.
First time going to Mutts. Great concept, mediocre experience. The gates didn’t work for several people, including us and someone had to keep opening it. We ordered food and drinks as well as a hotdog for my pup. They gave his hotdog away to 3 different people. Had to go to the counter twice just to remind them that I ordered my pup a hotdog. For a place to charge for a dog park, you would think it would be in tip top shape. Very dirty…. piles of dog poop all over the place in the yard area. I had to keep watching my dog so he wouldn’t run through it. Trash around the tables in the eating area. Needs major improvement… especially for the price.
We’ve been coming here for the past year and originally we loved it. However, in the past 6 months things have really gone downhill. One concern is the cleanliness of the space. As another review mentioned, there’s often trash left on or under the tables which we have to pick up to avoid my dog eating a straw or other garbage. The small dog area in particular seems to get no cleaning done. The facility in general just seems run down lately. The gates don’t work to scan in at, the signs are rusted and broken or falling off. They’re constantly out of doggy bags. I don’t see why I’m paying when I could clearly just walk in for free like other people. The main thing going for them is the location for people living in the area, and the frozen drinks! I will always recommend the frozen drinks.
I’ve been coming to Mutts for over a year now, and have convinced 3 of my friends to become members. So as much as I genuinely want to give Mutts a 5-star rating, it would not be an accurate representation of this business. Here’s where my conflict is: Pro: It’s a dog’s heaven in uptown Dallas. There’s tons of space to run and play off-leash. Plus, they have good drinks and wifi for those of us on 2 legs. Con: It’s not always very well kept up. I’ve seen chairs break under people 3 different times. The wood underneath the water hose area is rotting and unstable. In various spots underneath the mulch is jagged rocks that tear up dogs’ paw pads whenever exposed. Pro: They have REALLY good drinks for really cheap prices. Like $4 drinks during happy hour and $3 mimosas on weekend mornings level of cheap prices. Con: Some drinks (like ranch waters) are served in glass bottles. Glass bottles in the dog park just creates safety concerns for me. Pro: The location! Right in West Village, Mutts is a great, convenient spot for anyone in Uptown/Oak Lawn/Knox Henderson. Con: Though they have a HUGE parking lot, you may not be able to find a spot on Saturday or Sunday because people going to the Rustic’s (next door) weekend brunch use the parking lot. Plus, there aren’t lines everywhere, so people make their own spots…. Even if it’s blocking someone in… and it normally is Pro: They have a lot of rules in place regarding what dogs are/are not welcome. These include that the dog must be more than four months old, be spayed/neutered, and be vaccinated. Con: They don’t ask for proof of any of it, it is simply honor system. The only thing they are truly strict about is that male dogs are neutered, and that is only because it is visually apparent when this rule is broken Pro: All of the bark rangers and bartenders are super sweet and helpful (shoutout to Autumn and Alan) Con: Management doesn’t hold to their word or maintain bans on aggressive dogs. I have literally watched a dog start 2 to 3 fights before it was asked to take a break in the parking lot. After about five minutes it was allowed back in, where it just started fights all over again. This is not the only time I’ve seen this happen with the same dog, and yet this same dog is always allowed to return, and is even a regular. Overall, I really do love Mutts, and I’m going to continue to bring my dog here. I love that I can work or have a drink while my dog can play. However, I love Mutts more for the business model than for how the business is run itself, and there’s many changes that I really wish would be made.
I visit Mutts frequently in the mornings, but I’m considering ending my membership. One major concern is the cleanliness of the space—there’s often trash left on or under the tables, either from patrons not picking up after themselves or from staff not cleaning thoroughly at night. I usually have to spend the first few minutes tidying up to make sure my dog doesn’t get into anything. While I understand that my photos may not portray a ‘big’ problem, the frequency is the issue. I expect more for paying nearly ~$400/annually in subscription fees.
Good park, nice and friendly staff. All dogs where contained and well behaved. But, for the price ($8.95 daily) it’s not worth it! The tubs were half full with nasty water and there is poop everywhere! There is nothing extraordinary for the dogs. You can drive another mile for a free dog park and have the same stuff for your puppy! Unless you want to hangout with friends and get drinks. That’s the only thing that would make us to come back.
The small dog side gets absolutely no attention from the staff. The heaters on that side are broken and/or out of fuel, but the fans are continuously blowing on high even when it’s cold at night. No one cares or pays attention at all. No poop bags (on either side). Staff is not attentive in the slightest. I spend more time picking up poop and tending to other people’s large dogs who have been let into the small dog side than actually getting to relax. One of the measly pieces of “exercise” equipment on the small side has broken/missing parts that will never be repaired. The latch to the only entrance for the small dog side has not worked in I don’t even know how long. There hasn’t even been hand soap in one of the restrooms all week. Yikes. There never seems to be anyone in charge walking around to see how things are going. Someone please tell me I’m wrong about any of these things and I will edit my review. I have no idea why people keep pretending this place is worth it—for the human or their dog. I used to love the place before I moved here, but now that I live here, it has become such a letdown every time. Perhaps that’s when they changed ownership. Can someone who has ever run a small business for a day please step in. Please remember that people PAY a monthly membership to come here, and then they PAY for food and drink. What do they get in return?
Found this place via word of month 2 yrs ago when in town as part of Vegas Golden Knight organization. It was unique environment to let dog whom traveled with me to unwind. Met some genuine friendly Dallasites. However being in town for family emergency, this morning Friday 12-12-25 had the disgusting experience of find a homeless individual dedicating in the tan bark at the furthest part of dog park. The cantina was not open to report it. Tried to call numerous times and no one answered phone later this morning and afternoon. Please be safe. This issue will be posted on numerous social media pages regarding this venue looking more run down and unsafe.
I don't characterize this as a dog park. This is an outdoor bar without enough tvs to watch football and barely enough room to accommodate patrons with 10 pound dogs (or less). The concept might work better if they rebranded it to "Small Dogs Cantina." The actual "pit" area is very small, surrounded by chairs where people can drink alcohol, get their shoes dirty, socialize in a condensed area and hope the dog doesn't get mauled by a visiting 150 pound dog. It's your dog and take your chances. It's not for me and my dog and there's way better options for this prime real estate. Add gravel, lose the dirt cedar pit, and turn this location into a hopping beer garden for all the residents who would love to enjoy it. The owner of this location is "missing it" on concept. If you want people to pay for a membership for a dog park, you need to have "dog attendants" and frankly, more space. This is a "pay to put your dog at risk in a small space" program. Not a good use of Dallas real estate.
