Tip: The Mockingbird location is preferred by some over other Sweet Rice locations. If dining during lunch, be prepared for a heavier crowd and potential wait at the cashier.

It was my first time here, so I tried my Thai food staples: pad thai and tom yum with a side of jasmine rice. It was yummy and fresh. Just what I needed. Service was quick, attentive, and warm, which was good coz we were just on a short lunch break. Will surely be back to try their other dishes.
Absolutely awesome staff, very nice and attentive. I got the pork pad thai and it was delicious! The Thai tea was also delightful. Salt and pepper squid was great too. Would recommend 👌
I have been coming to this location since 2023. I have tried all the other Sweet Rice but nothing compares to this location on Mockingbird. The food is really good also, the service is as great. I have came during busy hours especially around lunchtime but the best timing is dining the atmosphere is more laid-back.
Manager super friendly and nice! Food was delicious and we definitely enjoyed our food as you can tell from the pics! 😉
This place seemed like a nice spot to try and, honestly we didn't take it serious just hungry and wanted to try something new. The food was awesome and fresh, so well made we didn't expect it. At first it seemed like a fast food style kind of like panda Express but it was such high quality food. Taste was so on point and heat levels if not done right might kill you haha.
Authentic & tasty Thai food at a great price 😋 offering 5 spice levels including Thai Spicy.
Amazing food, attentive and professional service. Everything from meatball appetizer to mango sticky rice dessert was fantastic and flavorful. I got Thai basil chicken, it had so much flavor and just a bit of heat, perfectly done. I love Sweet Rice and the new location on Mockingbird is bright and spacious. Easy to find and big parking lot. I'll be back!
Fried rice is such a basic item, but this fried rice was definitely better than average! Also got the sweet n sour chicken which was great. They ask you how spicy you want your dish, and 3/5 was perfect for me. They say 2 is medium, so I wanted a little heat. If you have really good tolerance to spicy, you can probably go higher. My tolerance is okay so didn’t want to go too high. I would recommend if in the area!

This is the best street Thai food I’ve found in Dallas, super authentic and delicious! We got several dishes, and they were all delicious

Cute little place, owner/manager (also the cook I think) is very solicitous and service oriented but the food is the STAR! My pineapple fried rice with tofu was so flavorful and at medium spice level, the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. It was such a unique dish (plenty of veggies-plus cashews, raisins, and of course pineapple). Love this place!
The best Fried Pineapple Rice within 5 mile radius. Watch out - if you like spicy food and get level 5, it’s the real deal. Definitely my spot to go for fried pineapple rice. Thanks for the great service.
Just discovered this place and it’s lovely! The young lady at the front was incredible with all customers, and the atmosphere is a mix of cafe and restaurant style (which is great for people who eat alone or with others). It is clean, in a great location and the portions are amazing! Will absolutely be returning. 5/5.

This was my first visit to Sweet Rice. I am a newbie on a restricted diet for food sensitivities, as well. My server was especially patient and helpful. He helped me sort through my options and helped me find something that fit my diet restrictions. It was very appreciated, as many restaurants either say they don’t know or they don’t have anything else. The food was quick and they adjusted the ingredients for me!
Sweet Rice had an amazing atmosphere from the moment we walked in. The open windows allowed the sunlight to come in and made the area very spacious showing how clean it was. There was ample seating with plenty of space. We were greeted with smiles and presented with the menu. They have various options including vegan and I ended up going with the Lao Heavenly Beef Jerky as an appetizer. It was brought out promptly and looked and smelled delicious. The presentation was nice, and neat and tasted even better. The only downside was that it was greasy, which I do not expect in my jerky. I then followed that up with the Lao Spicy Sausage. Now I cannot say anything bad about this dish. The homemade sausage had a juicy bite and was flavored with hints of rosemary and lemon garlic. It wasn’t as spicy as I thought it should have been but it was still very good. The prices are average for a restaurant around this area starting at two dollars for drinks and up to fifteen dollars for an entree. I recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again.
Pretty good Thai food, no complaints about the food! Only complaint is there was a decent rush of people and the ordering system wasn’t very officiant/technology forward. Could definitely use an investment into a drink machine. Food was good enough to come back again!
Dropped by to pick up dinner to take home. We eat Thai food often. The flavoring in the two dishes we got was minimal. It was not bad tasting, just lacking. We were saddened as we wanted a new restaurant for take out dinners. Staff was nice and the pricing at the current standards. I wish them the best.
Food was mostly great, but had some minor/moderate issues. The restaurant gave us menus when we arrived, but had us order at the front when we were ready. I ordered the Penang curry with chicken at spice level 3. The spice level is very spicy there for a three, so a rule of thumb would be to only order a spice level below what you are used to. The food had good flavor and gave sizable portions, but when we got the salt and pepper squid, they seemed to be extremely stingy on the squid to onion ratio. Also, they didn’t give any checkups on us to see if we needed more water, even though it wasn’t packed at all.

It’s a pretty average Thai spot. I was craving for some Thai food and this was the closest one with good reviews. Came in on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. Food came out at a reasonable time.

Not many Asian restaurants where this is located. Great location near my work! Not sure when it first opened up but the lunch crowd was a bit heavier for only one cashier in the front to manage. Friendly staff and server. Aside from that, the food came out rather quickly and also in very abundant portions. A little on the pricier side but if you want dinner before catching a flight at Love Field Airport it's a great option. Thanks for a clean bathroom.
I've ordered to-go salt & pepper squid and chicken popstickers. The squid doesn't have any salt in it, it was bland and tasted like I'm chewing something rubbery. Looks like they forgot to add salt in it. Popstickers tastes okay. Food looks good but tastes ok.
Decent place to grab a bite of Thai food. It’s not anything special though. The restaurant is set up like a fast casual kind of place. I got the Thai basil chicken, and some pork skewers. The Thai basil came out pretty good however, the pork skewers were inedible - they were very tough. I’d consider coming back for a lunch or a small meal, but definitely not for anything special given the high price.
Tried this place when they first opened. Was disappointed in the lack of flavor and the lettuce in my rolls weren’t fresh. Also- at the time, they didn’t have everything together. Fast forward a couple of years - I decide to try them again. Still cute inside - but grabbed my food to go to get back to work. I’m disappointed again - so I won’t be back. Portion is small compared to others in the area like Wai Wai kitchen, and again - lettuce is wilted AND BROWN . Also, the veggie spring rolls have zero taste, only texture. I’m sad this place still hasn’t come through and got it together.

My review is based only on the Lao dishes. I get excited anytime a restaurant serves Lao food because it’s not as common as Thai, so when I saw actual Lao items on the menu, I had to try them. The setup is like Newk’s — you order and pay first, then they bring the food to your table. We ordered the marinated steak rare (it comes with sticky rice and Jeo Som). For $18.99, the portion was pretty small, and the meat was mostly well-done with a few pieces cooked maybe medium at best. It also didn’t come with Jeo Som — they served it with the roasted tomato sauce instead. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have ordered it. I also ordered the Lao spicy sausage with sticky rice and the roasted tomato sauce. The sausage was a bit dry. We tried the crispy pork riblets and the duck fat fried rice — they were okay, nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the Kao Piak Sen. It came out with rice noodles, not udon noodles that make it Kao Piak Sen, so it wasn’t the dish at all. For the price, the food just wasn’t worth it, and it definitely wasn’t authentic Lao food. If they were out of something, they should have told us prior to substituting, although we don’t know if that was the case or not. Pretty disappointing overall.
I ordered a dinner portion of pad Thai combination and price came out to be $20. Food was really flavorful and food came out quick and hot but portion size is really small in comparison to the many other Thai places. I’ve actually had bigger portions at more affordable prices before so I was somewhat disappointed.
