Twisted Trompo was an absolute lifesaver! We stumbled across this spot in Downtown Dallas, and I’m so glad we did. The food was really good flavorful, fresh, and definitely hit the spot. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s a solid Mexican restaurant with a twist. Whether you’re in the area and need a quick bite or just craving some good Mexican food, this place is worth checking out. Great service, tasty food, and a chill vibe can’t ask for more.

My teenage daughters and I walked here from our hotel a few blocks away. We don't eat meat but we were able to find some very good stuff on the menu. Portion size, food taste, atmosphere, and service were all great.

I had a fantastic experience at Twisted Trompo! The food was incredibly tasty and felt authentically traditional. I tried the tacos with carnitas and chicken, both were flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they put real care into their ingredients and preparation. On top of that, the service was outstanding friendly, attentive, and fast. Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to. Highly recommend!

Great food, nice ambience, and friendly staff. The location is also so great. There is street parking. Note it's located in downtown Dallas so you may have to find a garage during the day.

Great food at a reasonable price. The meats are prepared on a “trompo” giving you each bite a great crunch texture and char flavor. Although the tacos were great, I knocked off a star because the rice was not fully cooked and crunchy in the middle. The agua de limon was great as well. Definitely a great place to grab a bite for lunch.

Great service, awesome location, and the food is very similar to authentic Mexican tacos.

If I could I would give it a 4.5. This is place is solid. The atmosphere was very lively inside, the staff were very courteous and fast, and the food was great! The prices are very slightly higher than your local taco place but not as much as those upscale taco places. You get your bang for your dollar so it is worth it. The 0.5 minus for me is the meats. It felt like it was blanded down a bit from the usual strong flavors of trompo. The salsas helped with the issue of the flavor, tasting great and spicy. I would come back here if I’m taking walking around downtown

This place is a great spot for late-night dining and drinks. The tacos are tasty, but they could be a bit less greasy. The cashier staff could benefit from some training on customer service; they need to be more welcoming and friendly. On the bright side, the bar service is excellent. They make fantastic mojitos and margaritas.

The twisted fries were the best thing I purchased from here. Elotes was okay, needed some seasoning, maybe add some more cheese. Quesabirria tacos were small so I got 5. The rice needed seasoning too. Beans were ok. Churros has caramel in the middle. They were delicious. Island rum punch was okay, it was sweet and didn't have much alcohol. It was still good though. We spent $80 but we ordered a lot so we could try different things on the menu.

Typical downtown Dallas restaurant. Easy to get in and out. Decent menu for something quick after work. Beer and cocktails. Food is fine and service is quick. Tacos a little on the small side even for “street tacos”. Very under seasoned given the vibe the place is going for.

Good Tacos. Service is super fast, I like the extra rice and beans in my plate. An excellent idea to continue preserving the authentic Mexican tradition to prepare street tacos with two tortillas, I love it. As soon we walked inside the door we heard a Hello and that is a good gesture to customers. The only two things I didn't like: 1. The onion and cilantro were all mixed up so I couldn't put cilantro in my tacos. 2. No parking available at the front. We had to park far away from the building. After all the taste of the food was really good.

First time here. The tacos came recommended by a friend so I had to give it a try. Place looks cool and the full bar is a great touch when your having tacos. We tried both tacos and a burrito. Tacos were Al Pastor and the burrito was chicken. Both were well served with meat. I would go back and try the other meats Barbacoa and Beef steak was left. The green side of salsa was delicious and slightly spicy. The pork "Al Pastor" was missing a little more pineapple. This is the reason for my 3 star rating on the food but flavor overall both meats were good. When in downtown.... come around!! They have a light beer selection. For me Amber's are better but you can't go wrong with a Corona (which they have)!!!

Chicken burrito was flavorless. It’s a nice portion and prepared well. It didn’t taste like anything though. I had to add a lot of sauce to it. Service was good!

The food was great and the young lady at the register did amazing. However the treatment from the security guard was unacceptable. He refused to let me use the restroom whilst my friends were ordering our food. We ended up taking our order to go, but I was very upset about being denied the basic courtesy of a restroom. Can’t even lie, food was terrible. The Al pastor was bland and chewy, the chicharon was completely inedible, rice and beans taste frozen and microwaved, and the salsa tasted bizarre and lacked freshness. Would not go again. Service was nice.

I rarely write reviews but the experience felt very uncomfortable. The customer service and vibe was not ok. To speak about others in your language is an insult within itself. I truly thank God I'm nothing like I use to be, otherwise it would have been confrontation within itself. Just because a customer isn't ok with the food, doesn't give a person right to insult with there language. Being from Dallas and experiencing Downtown Dallas since I was a child, this place want last too long. God Bless and watch who you speak about. There is a thing called secret shopper's and apparently you don't respect other cultures, if you can speak bad about someone in your own language. Other cultures can understand other languages more than you may think. Before you speak bad on someone, learn the true meaning of proper customer service, cleanliness, and fresh food. The food tasted old, simply. More than one review spoke it. I'm learning that reviews do matter!
