Tried something new for date night, found this little spot hidden, super delicious and fresh. Staff had outstanding customer service. Recommend the tako yaki appetizer, the fried tempura California, tonkotsu ramen & spicy tonkotsu ramen. Can’t wait to come back and try more delicious food! 10000/10
Went their for the first time this past Saturday and tried their orange chicken bento box since I know I like orange chicken and the box seemed to have a small variety of other foods. It tasted AMAZING! The orange chicken tasted so authentic, it blows fast food orange chicken out of the water in terms of flavor and taste. Our server was a very sweet girl but I unfortunately didn't ask for her name, my husband had just gotten back from a work trip and we were both tired from the drive back home. Highly recommend if you want authentic Japanese food and great service!
Food was great! We shared the chicken dumplings, egg rolls and spring rolls. The miso soup was great. I had undo noddles with veggies and things ordered by others were Chicken Katsu Ramen, tofu Singapore chow mein. The dressing on the ginger salad was not what I expected. I wonder if they have their own recipe. I prefer the traditional carrot/ginger dressing.
Osa Izakaya: The Most Authentic Japanese Experience I had so far in DFW Let’s be real—DFW has no shortage of sushi spots claiming to be “authentic.” You know the type: places where the chef might throw a jalapeño on your roll and call it a day. But Osa Izakaya? This place isn’t playing around. Chef Nicholas and his team are bringing the real deal, and they know it. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that Osa Izakaya was something special. We started with tempura-fried goodness that was crispy, flavorful, and somehow made us feel like we were making good life choices. The ramen was rich, deeply satisfying, and the kind of broth that makes you forget your problems for a little while. And while we didn’t order the nigiri, we did witness it being prepared—each slice of fish so expertly cut, so beautifully arranged, that we almost regretted our life choices. (Almost. That ramen was worth it.) But the real showstopper of the night? Chef Nicholas casually crafting an intricate bear out of an orange. Let me repeat: a bear. Out of an orange. At that moment, we realized two things: (1) This man is a culinary wizard, and (2) We will never cut fruit the same way again. The bear was so well-cut and cleaned that it somehow enhanced the flavor—which, frankly, should be scientifically impossible, but here we are. And because no truly authentic Japanese experience in DFW is complete without a proper drink, we sipped on a Shirakiku carbonated beverage, which was delightfully crisp, bubbly, and made us feel briefly superior to anyone drinking plain water. But wait, it gets better—Osa Izakaya is about to get its liquor license. That means real Japanese alcohol is coming soon, so you can sip sake and pretend you’re in a Tokyo izakaya (instead of, you know, a DFW shopping center). Oh, and did I mention there’s a free pool table in the enclosed party area? Because nothing says “authentic Japanese experience” like sushi, sake, and absolutely embarrassing yourself at billiards. Bottom line? Chef Nicholas and his team are delivering something special. Osa Izakaya isn’t just another sushi spot—it’s an experience, a passion project, and a much-needed wake-up call for anyone still eating grocery store sushi. DFW, you have been blessed. And next time? We’re ordering the nigiri.
Osa Izakaya has become one of my go to spots, it never disappoints. I always order the Shrimp Tonkatsu Ramen. It’s rich, flavorful, and truly hits the spot every time. The customer service is just as impressive. From the moment I walk in, I feel genuinely welcomed. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure I’m taking care of. You can tell there’s real passion behind the food, especially from Nicholas, the chef. His dedication to the craft, and the restaurant shows in every bowl. Highly recommend!
Nicholas went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable! Watching him prepare our sushi right in front of us was a treat—his creativity truly stood out. His service was a 10/10, with great attention to detail and a positive attitude that made our dining experience even more enjoyable and memorable.
First time here with my lady, we were craving ramen and in the area and decided on this place due to their reviews and menu. The miso spice level two is fantastic with pork. Very tasty, and the spice is just right, taste like homemade noodles(hopefully) Also got the beef fried rice which was very good and a nice portion. Added some chili oil and made it even better. To start off this party though we had the Crab Rangoons and those suckers were big! Very tasty as well, perfectly crunchy and crab mix was done right. Although the only thing I did not enjoy was the sweet chili that came with the crab Rangoon as it was very heavy on vinegar. But aside from that, everything was tip top and we are definitely coming back. Perfect spot to stop by for a quick and affordable bite. Service was great and fast, and our waitress was very friendly.
Came in for the first time and it was very slow. Only two tables at a time.. i sat at the bar and was greeted nicely. The service its okay… Ordered different appetizers that I’ve been ordering in different places and this place has surprised me the most. LOVED all of them. The calamari is not too crunchy and not chewy like in other places, and the sauce that comes with it is perfect for it. The crab rangoons are so flavorful, its not just plain cream cheese and crab like in other places either. The first bite was an explosion of flavor. I loved it. The shrimp tempura was nice and crunchy And the takoyaki was crunchy outside(which i loved) instead of soft also very flavorful in the inside. Lastly i tried the cherry blossom roll, and the size is very nice and well prepared. Everything here was such a great experience when it came to flavors. DEFINITELY recommend. Will come back, and is definitely one of my favorite places from now on!
At first driving up to this establishment you don't really think much of it, maybe a small hole in the wall place but upon entering the doors, the whole dining room kitchen is exposed and it it tranquil as far as the atmosphere and the waitstaff helped me get my order together. I got the seafood ramen noodle soup and also a side of crab Rangoons (5 per). I paid $22 dollars. So I noticed I paid $22 dollars when leaving and I was found asking my self "what the heck did I just order!?" I had received a quart container of soup and 2 other small boxes. One small box of ramen noodles and the crab rangoons in the other. As I bite into the crab Rangoon I notice it has something extra inside, as I investigate I notice it's actual crab meat in the crab Rangoon not just cream cheese. They also came with a side of spicy ginger sauce and it paired with the rangoons perfectly. The ramen noodles I mixed up into my soup and mixed it up. The food was so delicious and HOT! I got plenty of seafood in my soup and in every single bite. Not joking! Fresh big shrimp, mussels, small shrimp, octopus, calamari and a bunch of veggies. It was light but it certainly left me too full. I was not disappointed I will return to try other things out.
Decided to get our meal to go this time. They juice and noodles were in separate containers, which was nice. Don't like that they put the soup in such a little container because not all the noodles fit in it. They were pretty fast with getting it together, and it was delicious as always.
The food was fantastic, I'll be a regular customer. The place is not fancy from the outside nor the inside. It's a calm place. Their strong point is definitely the wonderful food they make. They make you feel special because the food looks like it's from a cooking magazine and the flavors are fresh and delicious and balanced. I really liked that you can call the server by hitting a button (each table has an individual button), so the waiter doesn't bother you while you're eating your meal like at other places.
The food was incredible!! If you didn't know where this place was you may not see it but those are the best kinds of places which this one was! Ramen was delicious. Tempora and dumplings hit the spot. Plus the dumpling sauce was sooo good I had to ask for some to go. I'll be returning for my ramen fix quite often.
This place served a fantastic meal today! We came for the combo they advertised where you buy 2 Phó and get an order of chicken wings for free and they were definitely the star of the show. The ramen options at this place are pretty great too. They also offer Bento box meals with a variety of fried items. Nonetheless we really enjoyed every item we ordered today.
Update been coming here for years since the original owner. My favorite place to go to enjoy some ramen & spend time with friends or loved ones..quite little place great too have conversations while enjoying a meal. Food takes time to prep so not a place for someone in a hurry due being under staff but worth the wait. Nice lil hidden gem in the north dallas area.
The only issue we had was that when we went to take out our food, we got home and it was missing a $14 plate. Had to drive back to get it. But that wasn't too bad, they readily admitted to the error and quickly made the food. The food is fresh, and tasty. My ramen broth was very rich and deep, and at level 2 spice, just hot enough for me. I ordered the kimchi ramen, and it was terrific. Daughter had a tower and calamari for appetizer. She had the coffee milk tea and enjoyed that. To go we ordered Miso Soup, Ginger Salad, Yellowtail Sashimi (which was forgotten) and a Spider Roll. All told it came to $90 with tip. A little pricey, maybe, but there were three very satisfied diners. If you're there for, say, an appetiser and a ramen you'd be out for less than $25 easy.
The food here is quite good. I had the combination beef Pho Noodle plate and it was satisfying. It was my first time here and I think it's safe to say that this restaurant has some of the best Ramen noodle dishes in town. I was impressed and definitely will be back here to try more of their menu.
This restaurant does well with it's own style of presentation. Everything tasted good, but it did catch me a little off guard since I was expecting a more traditional Japanese style sushi. I went for the Crazy Dallas which doesn't have rice, another roll that I forgot the name of and two orders of shrimp tempura. Service here is really convenient cause you just press a buttpn to call for a server. I also tried their ramen on a separate occasion and it was also really good!
First time trying this place since we got a flyer in the mail. The cons: was told 20 minutes, had to wait an extra 15 when I arrived. Not a big deal, but, the chicken was not good. Tasted old, according to my wife, the Mongolian beef was tasty but very dried out. Unfortunately there was a hair in our California roll so we stopped eating them immediately. Pros: the fried rice was great. Very traditional hibachi/Japanese flavor. All the Veggies were well cooked, zucchini, edamame and broccoli from the chicken bento. Will probably need some time before we return for some take out.
The employee there was really nice and was there to offer a lot of help. The place was not that busy when my friend and I were there. The ramen was decent but not to the standard I have. Maybe I'm just picky. The place was quiet and welcoming. When it comes to the bubble or boba tea, it was not really what is expected. There was a lot of milk and not much tea. Felt and tasted very slushi like. Not a fan. A good quick stop but not a place I see myself returning to.
