This place is a gem. At first sight we thought it was so crowded we almost left, but we gave it a try and found a table. You order at the counter and then they take your food to your table. The food is great and the coffee is awesome, unlike other restaurants similar to this one. The staff is friendly and tables and restrooms are clean.

Love Cafe Bernardo’s in Davis. Conveniently located in Downtown. Great optional outdoor seating. If you want to bring along a fur baby to eat with you outside you can do that. This particular evening I decided to switch it up and change what I got. I had the tomato soup which was yummy. It was on the thicker side more like a puréed tomato bisque. And a side of the seasonal green beans and cherry tomatoes. What a good selection for dinner. So glad I got both!

Visiting family in Davis and they recommended Cafe Bernardo. Arrived a few minutes before they switched over to their lunch menu, but the hostess was kind and gave us time to order from the breakfast menu (thank you). Mimosas, coffee with cream and bacon avocado omelette…delicious! Would definitely recommend to others.

Great spot to grab breakfast or lunch. A few years back, they served a salmon and orzo dish that I still dream of.. too bad I don't have a picture of it.. but breakfast was great today!! Thanks! Their jam is so delicious

Wonderful food, great service and menu. The portions are a good size and if you’re looking for healthy, local ingredients, this is also a plus here. Four stars only because the table and chairs were wobbly, and we had to have them refute the steak because it came out red Eve though we had ordered well done.

Nice place to stop if you are in Davis. The food is good and portion sizes are decent. Service could have been better but it’s a college town so…. Other than that if you want some good food stop by and try it out

The Brioche French toast was very delicious! The Chilaquiles had a weird taste. They need to cook the salsa. It was terrible. Either take it off the menu or learn how to make it right. Also, I ordered ham and it came in 3 thin slices and didn't taste good. Otherwise everything else was good 👍

Food is excellent but it’s so busy on weekend for brunch and the wait for food is very long. It’s a place for you to enjoy the brunch and not rush eat and leave.

The Grilled Salmon Salad was awesome. The Belgian Endive added Great taste, and I switched to pecans. I'll be back for this one. Restaurant is self service, trendy, and a bistro environment.

Nice place and decoration, super tasty food, friendly staff. We ordered from the breakfast menu: breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich and bernardo benedict, for two adults and two small kids was more than enough. Food was amazingly good, eggs soft and creamy, bread delicious and the burrito covered with a sauce fresh and spicy. The staff is friendly and quick, we waited just a few menus for a fantastic meal. The restaurant is well located just a few steps from the central park, it has in-door and outdoor seating options, decoration pretty nice and some seasonal details. We’ll be back for sure.

We stopped by Café Bernardo while in Davis, just looking to grab some coffee. Turns out the place is more suited for breakfast or lunch, but they do serve coffee as well. The space is nice — plenty of room, calm vibe, both indoor and outdoor seating. But it was super busy, definitely a popular spot with locals. The outdoor area has old-style iron chairs, which may look cute, but I was wearing a dress and my legs were freezing — not the most comfortable seating. We ordered two cappuccinos and two desserts. The coffee came first — strong, rich, and really good. But the desserts took forever and only arrived after we’d already finished half our drinks. Friendly staff, but very slow service. Overall, it’s a decent place, but not without its flaws. I’d give it a solid 3 stars — better furniture and quicker service would definitely help.

Don't come here at 10:45 am expecting lunch. The cashier said I needed to wait 15 minutes so I did. When I went up to order at 11:00 a.m., the cashier then said it would be a long wait because they had to change the kitchen over from breakfast to lunch. Meanwhile, the rest of my party was eating breakfast and I didn't want to inconvenience them so I just didn't order.

Watch your cashier carefully and hang on to your receipts ! I had a party of four - waited 40 minutes for our food only to be told that they only had an order for three - we couldn’t wait for them to prepare another meal and left - I just got my final charge on my credit card ( shame on me for not keeping the receipt) 89$ for three meals and three coffees!! When I oked the transaction I remember it being 73!!!! We won’t be back ever

Well u have to wait in a line out the door and around the corner. Only for them to tell you after u have got to the front that they're at capacity and you have to find your own table before they will take your order. So people that havnt waited go and grab all the available tables while you've been patiently waiting, and then try to cut everyone in line because they already have a table. And the restaurant just lets them! There is no sign or anything posted to tell you this. Then we ordered a carne asada breakfast burito and chilaquiles, and 3 coffees. They gave me 3 mugs and told me to get my coffee at the coffee station. Which is completely blocked by all the people waiting in line, and when I get over there coffee is empty. So I tell the counter guy and he brings 3 coffees to my table, all of these coffees are filled with hard floating coffee grounds, like filled!!! So manager comes over and we get 3 new coffees. But no cream and sugar, wrestled my way back to their coffee bar, cream is out. Food comes my carne asada breakfast burrito is literally 5 slices of meat and a small amount of black beans a few potatos and then 50 pieced of grilled onions. That's it. Basically onions wrapped in a burrito. My husband's chilaquiles were tasty but it's was chips sauce and some eggs. A tiny tiny tiny crumble of chorizo? We will never be back. Don't waste you time
