JByrd's Muddy Waters is a great spot for friends, offering a good atmosphere and attentive service. The paella is a popular choice. Some customers have noted inconsistency in oyster size.

Came for a quiet reunion with an old friend and it was perfect. Food was really good wish I had room for more. Server was very attentive!!
Best service bar anywhere around. Great food and service and prices. Bartender named Kevin is the best making the best drinks, and all the servers and tenders are great. Great atmosphere going on in here. Dont hesitate to come here for the best drinks and food! Tell them Sammy Sosa sent you.
Havent had good yet but for game time and fun this is your spot to be, great specials, amazing space and a wide menu!
You want some good food? Come here! We had an awesome steak and yummy shrimp. Cooked to perfection! Our server Remy was superb! She was very attentive, shared her food experience and very pleasant. Thanks Remy for making our culinary experience even better‼️ I’m a true foodie they have a great chicken wrap and hamburger as well. Thumbs up 👍🏽
Amazing menu with many options. Reasonable price points throughout. Casual restaurant and bar with a good vibe. I had the shrimp poboy sandwich which was super tasty. My wife had chicken with angel hair pasta. Banana cream pie for dessert. Service was good.
This is the place my wife and I go to everytime we visit relatives. Love the atmosphere. Whether it's on the front patio or inside, service is great. Food is delicious. I always have raw oysters that are reasonably priced. We go there at lunchtime and I always get the alligator po' boy. A lot of prices in the bun. So big it's hard to hold it and eat, may have to use a fork. Good size appetizers. Recommend Muddy Waters.
I’ve never had a bad experience at this restaurant and today was no different. It seems that lately when you go out to eat, there’s always something that doesn’t meet your expectations. But today was the exception. The drinks, appetizers, entrees, dessert and service were all on point. I love the Florida Keys vibe here, too.
absolutely fantastic little pirate themed restaurant and bar. we REALLY enjoyed the calamari appetizer, as well as the smokef fish dip. excellent way to start the meal! for entrees we had a build your own burger with fries, and a fried oyster poboy with onion straws. both were fantastic, cooked perfectly, and the onion straws were incredible. i also had a bowl of the conch chowder, but it was more of a vegetable soup than anything else. not something i would order again, but everything else was fantastic 👍 our server Gianna was fabulous, super friendly, extremely attentive, very knowledgeable of the menu, and just overall did a great job. the menu is EXTREMELY extensive, so i definitely will be coming back here in the future to try some more items 👍
I’m not even sure where to start. I’ve been coming here for at least 20 years that I can remember. Always a great time, place hasn’t changed but doesn’t feel outdated. It’s a wonderful Florida Keys feel. The key lime pie is divine. The Gator Po Boy is my favorite sandwich. The Reuben is second. Love the Escargot, Fish Dip, and always recommend the Jerk Chicken Tacos.
I came here while visiting family! I've been here a few times and they always have great food. Sitting outside is the best I wished they had a bigger Patio with more swinging tables! Out server was great and our dishes were amazing and large servings!
Really fun beach town theme. Our server Gabi was super friendly and helpful Menu is huge and meals are very big while prices are very reasonable. Deff consider sharing a portion between two people
I am new to Florida & coming from Philadelphia it is so hard to find good food around. This is my favorite restaurant so far! Affordable prices . Nice alcoholic beverage deals from 4pm-7pm. I always get raw oysters & the hot & spicy shrimp with that broth they make its AMAZING !!! Those shrimps are the best thing everrrr !!! I promise you it’s to die for😭 i even got me a loyalty card ❤️
I've been going to this place for years. A little bit of a locals vibe but good food and great service and atmosphere.
Alex was our server. He was super amazing. Checked on us a lot, but gave us time to relax and have a wonderful time. I had the clams/oysters and the grilled shrimp. Fabulous shrimp. Also had a titos bloody mary, an apperol spritz, and a custom amaretto and coffee drink. All fabulous. Atmosphere and ambiance are equally worth the trip.
The wait staff was very upbeat, pleasant, and happy to help with menu suggestions and recommendations. I love the atmosphere! It is very eclectic. Inside the establishment, I felt like I was underwater. The black lights made the neon paint glow. VERY COOL! The food was simply DELICIOUS! We sat outside in one of the gliding benches. We were there a long time which did not seem to bother the waiter. Overall, I highly recommend Muddy Waters fir lunch or dinner.
This is an interesting restaurant. From the outside, it appears to be the smallest of places in a strip mall. As you approach the door, it becomes apparent that this place is much more than a hole in the wall. The outside tables and chairs can be on rockers, the jungle look of plants is great and the attention to detail makes for a good first impression. I tried two meals during my business trip, and I had the mahi tacos blackened and some wings the second time. All of the food was stellar. The service was beyond excellent with the bar staff taking good care of all of our needs quickly. The true test of a business is when something goes wrong. And, during one of our trips there was an issue that arose that was not too big of a deal, because the manager explained everything well and helped me to understand. That level of detail topped off a great couple of visits and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wayne did an outstanding job taking care of us, and everything we ate was delicious. They had the Monday Irish specials so I got the Sheppard's pie and it was probably the best I've ever had. The gator bites were yummy as well, which was what brought us to JByrd's to begin with. A great experience all the way around!
Just did takeout salmon sandwich for lunch. Leslie was so friendly! The order was perfect! Even came with a baked potato for $13. What a bargain! Everyone was super friendly and it was actually very crowded for lunch in there but they were super attentive and got my order right away! I have eaten there but never done takeout -really good! Highly recommend!
Been visiting Muddy Waters since around the year 2000. Fell in love with the atmosphere, and the lobster bisque soup since day one, and you will too. The salads are phenomenal. The seafood is always fresh, and delicious. There's an endless list of beers on tap. There's plenty of seating inside and out. The staff follows all social distancing guidelines. Muddy Waters is one of those places that you just want to go back to again and again. Great sports bar also.
Great food.... Amazing flavor and very affordable. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone.
I attended a private cocktail party at JByrds. I have to say the food was very good! In the atmosphere, of course, is awesome.
Muddy Waters is great on all levels! But if you're a fisherman with a catch, this place is for you. After a long day of fishing, we bring in our catch and they prepare it promptly and professionally. Since I'm here to fish, I go here most nights when I'm in town. I highly recommend this place.
What a fun kitschy restaurant in Deerfield Beach! Outside seating is wonderful with gliders and a water dish for our dog! Service was good and our server Katdog knew the menu and recommended FISH TACOS. The jumbo steamed shrimp were cooked perfectly and the tacos were good—just skimpy on the shrimp!! Slicing the shrimp in HALF and getting 3 halves on a taco is kinda SKIMPY for $14... the mahi was blackened and a little rubbery and we ended up eating the protein outta the flour tortillas.
Great spot. Good was really good and the service was awesome aswell. Best thing about this place is the atmosphere for sure, the interior is done really well and gives that "hidden gem" vibe. 10/10
First time here. A sports bar, plus. Great vibe, plenty of seating, great service. They pour a good drink which is always a plus. The food was excellent. I had the crab po'boy with rice & beans.....very good. It was so much I had to take half of it home. Also try the lobster bisque, excellent. We sat at the bar and Kevin took good care of us. Great place, give it a try.
Three of us ate there and everybody got a different meal and everybody was very happy with their choice. They have a very extensive menu and I’m sure most of the items are very good and I would recommend this place to check out if you’re looking for somewhere in the Deerfield Beach area.
With the minor exception of having to ask for water 4 times, between two servers, everything was very good. Good, service, enough TV's to watch the game. And lots of outside seating for those days the weather is nice.
You have to be a seafood person to appreciate the atmosphere and most of the menu although they did offer "land locked" options like chicken, steak, and ribs. The staff was upbeat and responsive. The food was wonderful. The portion size was BIG. We had to take half home. If the weather is cool enough, the outside tables with the rocking seats were cool! Nice place and good food!
Great food and service! Extensive menu an moderately priced. Relaxed "Island" feel, especially with the decor! The fluorescent black light areas give you the feel of being under water with all of your favorite sea creatures! I still gave 5 stars even though they ran out of raw oysters. I was still able to satisfy my oyster craving with fried oysters! Yum! I will be going back!
Fun spot to bring the family. They have these interesting outdoor rocking tables that are worth checking out. Gator bites on menu but were sold out when we got there so they go fast.
Had dinner there last night the portions were huge! There of us could have shared one meal. The service was top shelf with great value for your money. Highly recomended
UK tourist here. Thought this restaurant was absolutely amazing. Our 7th meal in Boca, but this was the first one that I felt strongly enough to leave a review. Chicken tenders were the favourite starter, but everything was good - the fish dip, the scallops in bacon, and the alligator bites (taste like scampi!). Mains were also good - lobster, ghost crab, key west platter, and coconut shrimp (king prawns). Everything tasted great! Service was also really good, incredibly attentive, and this was even though they were two servers down because of sickness. The atmosphere is also great, lighting at just the right level, and the decorations were really well thought out - including the neon lit corridor to the toilets. If I had to find some bad points, the fact that there are only two toilets can be an issue, especially if busy, and that half the restaurant was closed off due to staff shortage... but staff shortages seem to be a problem across the state at the moment... Matt was our server, and he was really attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, and a really nice guy. Really do recommend.
Went on a Saturday afternoon around 2. First time there. Lot's of open tables inside and outside but 25 min wait to be seated. Obvious once we sat down, not enough staff but worth the wait. We had the jambalaya and the Ruben. The Ruben was by far the best I've had. I highly recommend it.
If you like clams on the half shell at a reasonable price and steamed clams or mussels in a casual atmosphere, this is the place for you. We don't like the small clams, the little necks. We asked them to bring out their biggest clams on the half shell and they were like top necks which was good for us. It's hard to find raw clams in Florida that are not little little necks. The clams were very good and the steamed clams were also good. We had a bucket of muscles which was very large and good in the white sauce. We also had the conch soup which was good. My husband ordered a hot dog which was twice the size of a normal hot dog and he said it was very good. It came with french fries and coleslaw. Good casual restaurant with good seafood. We will be back.
We came here after visiting the Home Depot down the street. When we arrived the restaurant was pretty busy. We had to wait about 15 minutes before we were sat at our table. When we were sat at our table we were quickly met with Trouble. Honest, that's what her name tag said. She took our drink order and brought everything back post taste. I ordered the mahi-mahi, my wife ordered the lobster mac and cheese. The food was great the service was quick and the food was hot. The restaurant was clean and even with all the people the atmosphere was relatively quiet. I ordered the banana cream pie for dessert which was awesome. My wife ordered the key lime pie and she did not like it. The waitress quickly took it off the bill. I would recommend this place to anybody. They have great Seafood, service, and a nice atmosphere.
Reedited my review from 1 1/2 years ago: But my goodness I legit go here embarrassingly at least 6-7 times a month myself my spouse and kids are as addicted!! Me to the succulent sweet oysters with fresh hand done horseradish and lemon wedges to my spouse addicted to the Key West platter with the jumbo fried shrimp ,scallops ,calamari etc to my kids and their and our addiction to the lemon pepper wings which are out of this world!. Every single thing else we have tried has been spectacular💣!!!My mouth 💦 now just typing I mean I at this point have royalty rewards card they offer all customers which after 100 points takes $20 off your bill as well as the coupons you get monthly with money, percent off, or half off entrees!! this place is awesome! The outside ambience with their swinging booths and inside are a site to see. And their customer service is ON POINT!! I mean they know myself and my family by name and I'm sure make it a point to remember us hugs and all very personable folks who treat you like family ❤😍Please visit here with family, friends, datenight whoever you wont be disappointed I promise..
Loved every minute of our dinner. Our server was Gabby and she was our type of person! She gave us fantastic service, offered tasty suggestions and was there when we needed her. While she was busy, she took great care of us. The food was FANTASTIC. Large portions and everything was delicious. We got the muscles appetizer with pasta, mahi blackened tacos, chicken tenders and potato skins.
Went in July. I saw on Google that they had Oysters Rockefeller, Escargot, and many more seafood options, so we decided to try them. Really Good! It's an amazing Key West-style restaurant with a great selection and reasonable prices! We will be returning for numerous delicious items from their menu! The updated menu price is the MUST! Mismatched prices on Google, the website menu, and prices they charge in the restaurant, look at my bill picture!
I had been here once several years ago with some friends. I enjoyed the food and service. This night I came back with my "former" wife and adult daughter to celebrate our birthdays (mine and daughter). They had been interested in this restaurant for some time, and so we decided to come down to eat. I live in Palm Springs, and they live in Delray Beach. To say that this was an excellent dining experience would be an understatement. The entrees were cooked perfectly. I had the Center Cut Sirloin, medium rare, and the wife and daughter each had the Delmonico Steak, rare. All three steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My dish came with the smashed spuds and mixed vegetables, which were delicious and again perfectly cooked. My wife's dish came with baked potato and the mixed vegetables. My daughter changed her potato to fries, and the mixed vegetable to broccoli. We also asked for the fries to be on a separate plate (so the juices from the steak don't make the fries soggy). No problems with the changes. For dessert I had the Key Lime pie, which was excellent, my daughter had two desserts, the Brownie Sunday, which she ate there, and the Ultimately Sinful Chocolate Cake, which she had boxed to take home for another day. Most importantly, a big shout-out to our server Michael. He was absolutely perfect. Polite, patient, understood what we wanted. He came with drink refills without having to be asked, and checked on how we were doing throughout the meal. He is an asset to this restaurant, and we hope to have him again next time we come to eat.
Easy parking, fun atmosphere, everyone is happy! Inside/outside seating- The food was very good! Ordered raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, and the clam linguine-Delicious Great happy hour and daily specials. My server Nico was busy and yet very nice and attentive! Come visit, great hospitality
I recently visited Muddy Waters in Deerfield Beach, and once again, they did not disappoint! The meal was delicious, maintaining the consistent quality that I’ve come to expect from this place. The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and complemented well by melted cheese and fresh toppings. The accompanying mudd puppies were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, providing a delightful to contrast in textures. Service was top-notch; our server was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our dining experience was smooth from start to finish. Impressively, there was no wait time, allowing us to be seated and served promptly. Muddy Waters continues to be a reliable spot for good food and excellent service. If you're looking for a casual dining experience with consistently great food, this is a place to visit. Thanks for watching, and happy eating!
I love the atmosphere. Kinda reminds me of Ol’ Florida even though it’s in a strip mall. Great selection of menu items, including “tastes” of the islands. The food is good. The drinks are hit or miss. I had a watermelon Margarita that tasted bad…it was extremely sweet. Mussels are my favorite, they have two options. The service has been really good too.
Cool place. Funky and fun decorations. Outdoor seating has these cool rocking picnic tables. Great oysters. Their Rueben is amazing. 2 bars filled with regular diners and drinkers even during day. Fun place.
Place has good food, used to come here for a while, service has gone down every single time since ive came here, Donna made us wait for an open table outside until her server was ready, asked her how long it would be and told me 20 minutes. Meanwhile when we call to ask if we can make a reservation they said yes and there is no wait currently. Certain people just shouldnt really be working front of house., I switched this review from 2 to 5 as Gabi was able to fix this issue and sit us at a table and honor happy hour to make us happy. Absolutley deserves her manager position and saved our dinner experience
We went here for Mother's Day Dinner about 15 of us. We had a lot of separate checks and special orders. My family really tested this waitress and she (Gabby) nailed it! She did exceptionally well. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the customer service was awesome! Great restaurant!
I came in with my family on Saturday evening after hearing great things about this hidden gem. Our waiter Michael was one THE BEST! I could tell the place was busy and he was juggling multiple tables at once, but he always stopped by to update us on our orders and ask if we needed refills. Even after our orders came missing some sauces, he was immediately on it and fixed the issue. The food itself was also great, I recommend the fried mahi sandwich! 10/10 definitely coming back.😁
What a treasure! The place is absolutely magnificent. Well decorated a lot of fun. A lot of conversation. The food was great. Everything came out at the right time at the right temperature and was delicious. And the Margaritas weren't too bad either. We'll definitely return.
We missed the Wednesday happy hour, but the appetizers and drinks were good. Food came out quickly and hot. Server was friendly, knowledgeable, competent and attentive. We were asked questions about how and when we wanted the food and even the seating to ensure a great experience.
Un lugar perfecto para ir con amigos
Lugar confortable, comida sabrosa y servicio excelente. Ariana la bartender, carismática y servicial.
Excelente lugar para compartir con amigos...buen ambiente y una atención super atenta..vale la pena la visita...
The restaurant is like being part of pirate movie. It is cool. Inside, you will find pirate statues, treasure chest, fish and much more.I liked this place. The atmosphere was friendly and nice. I had a good time here. The restaurant was easy to spot. It was two sitting areas. One was in front. It is in a nice and shady area. Surrounded by green and decorations. The inside is just as interesting. The decorations are nice. The clam chowder here is very good. I tried the Mahi tacos. I thought they were good. I do wish they had a bigger seafood option. I did like what I had. The service was good David our waiter was great. He was a funny character. I think he made the new restaurant experience great.
Been here half dozen times I have never gotten any bad food. Unfortunately, I met a friend there today and she got an amazing salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was chewy. Our really nice waiter brought her another freshly made chicken breast and that one was chewy in the middle also. She had me try it because she thought maybe she was crazy. I'm a little disappointed because I asked her to meet me specifically at this location because it has always been so good in the past. I got the gator po boy and I will say I've never had before and it was absolutely amazing. I don't know where you get your chicken breast from, and if this is a common problem, but you may want to consider getting another supplier.
I'd definitely recommend going here if you looking for someone very chill with a some live music. The decor is heavily fisherman hut/coastal really cool. The portions are huge and could easily be shared. Our server was very accommodating but seemed a little green. Not many gluten free/vegetarian options but and also the desert menu is none existant. I did like the vibe and I would go back. The mussels are definitely my recommendation.
Cool spot for happy hour & dinner. We sat outside in a rocking table and were able to get happy hour specials 4-7pm. We had $1.25 oysters which were fresh and tasty! The lobster 🦞 bisque was lacking in lobster but had a good flavor. We also got the gator po boy which was delicious - great spice and tender gator! The Key West platter was perfect with veggies and rice!
I haven't been here in over 15 years when I had an office in Deerfield. Still as good as ever. Lots of outside seating and a huge seafood oriented menu. I had the BIMINI’S RED LION CONCH CHOWDER , Rich Broth Soup with Conch & Veggies, super and the JUMBO WINGS which comes in an order of 5 ,10, or 20 wings. Choice of the following preparations, Caribbean Lime, Honey Hoisin, Hot Mango, Lemon Pepper,Jerk, BBQ, Honey BBQ, OR Buffalo, Served W/Bleu Cheese & Celery. Good size and very good. My wife ordered the COCONUT SHRIMP, 4 Jumbo Shrimp, Battered W/Coconut & Golden Fried over yellow and served with a Honey Marmalade. She thought the shrimp were over cooked.
Consistently enjoyable. Really love the outside setup, charming with the rocker booths and nautical decor. Had the mussels, which was an enormous portion, served with garlic toast to dip. They were fresh and delicious. Also had the black and blue shrimp, which were good as well, but I'd say underportioned for the price. Still enjoyed them regardless. Dawn's service was very friendly and attentive, she helped with the menu and let us set our own dining pace. Mark of a great server!
This was a decent change of pace and laid back night out dining. The seats outside swing like your on your own pirate ship. The atmosphere and decor is very fun!! My gf picked up the mahi tacos and those were pretty good, mahi was seasoned on point. I requested something apparently not on the menu, mahi poboy, and they still went out of their way to make it which was pretty cool. (FYI, mahi and shrimp poboys should totally be on the menu). The fries were pretty good as well. Also picked up the jambalaya, but sorry i wasn't all that impressed by this dish. Not a fan of the tomato sauce kind and i didn't realize this by the picture or the menu. The gf liked the jambalaya though, so there's that. As appetizers we picked up the spinach and artichoke dip and the fried alligator bites. Both were on point and would recommend.
The food here was great, however the service could be improved. The waitress was too quick and did not allow for me to even complete a sentence without leaving. Other than that my experience at the restaurant was good. The location is pretty hard to spot from the road, however it was decorated beautifully in a tropical theme. Made me feel like I took a vacation to Key West. I also noticed a few touches of anime like a pikachu face near the ceiling, lol. The menu was filled with affordable items that came in large portions. Overall this is an inexpensive restaurant with a chill atmosphere. Perfect place to hangout with a few friends.
This place has exit for decades!! A lot of locals come here for great food and great service!! Sitting at the bar is always a good time! The key west vibe keeps the place busy! I've personally been coming here since the late 80's and everything has been consistently great every time I've come here! My favorite home town bar/ restaurant!! Great outside seating also!!
Es un gusto ir a este restaurante con aire caribeño me gusta su paella y otras delicias.
This place has decent to good food with excellent happy hour pricing. The service could be better but I guess it all depends on your waiter / waitress. Our waiter was the Nathan Lane look-alike who thought he was funny he wasn't he was just slow. All in all a decent place I do recommend it.
Was told about the fish fry and had to go and try it. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. The dish looked amazing and the look I was hoping for. However, I would not order this dish again. Very greasy and the the texture of the fish was somewhat oily/slimy so I tried to eat as much as I could, thought maybe it was me. I’ll still come back to try other dishes, but this dish was not my favorite. The fish is SWAI fresh water.
I want to give 5 stars.... the food and drinks were so good and our server Wayne was top notch. However, my husband became violently ill before we even left the restaurant. He thinks it was possibly the oyster shooter he had as an appetizer, since it was a bit dry when it came out (possibly sat out for a while before serving.) He was fine by the time we returned to our hotel. We would still try this place again, but probably avoid raw seafood.
Ambiance was great, service good, but the food was way under par. The marguarita was weak and way too sweet. Still better than average, and a pretty good value.
Cool atmosphere with good happy hour specials daily. The regular menu has a little bit of all types of food. There service was slow
Siempre que vengo las ostras son excelentes pero hoy muy pequeñas.
Waited over 40 minutes to get a table as they were so busy. We didn’t mind the wait. It happens. Eventually get a table indoors and service is really, really slow. I feel sorry for the server though as it was so busy, they were trying their best. Food came out, was really good. Environment and decorations were great. The problem came when a cockroach was on my partners leg under the table… they have cockroaches under the table under the floorboards… crawling on the table legs.. I tried to email the company privately on this matter, they never responded. They need to up the cleanliness and work on pest control. My partner didn’t tell me until after we had eaten, as he didn’t want to ruin the meal.
The food was delicious…once it got to us. 2 hr. wait for food. I went with 14 people and we got there at 6 and were served after 8. Waitress was lovely but brought out red wine instead of the white that was ordered, one ordered a salad which was never served, my young 12 y/o niece ordered chicken which never came out but a pork sandwich came in its place so she had to wait an additional 20 min. for a hot dog. The food was really good but we will never go back.
Not a great lunch experience. I ordered dolphins fingers but was unable to get them with fries and somehow got tricked into a much more expensive fish platter with fresh mahi. The blackened mahi was terribly dry and bland. The chicken tenders were ridiculously large and inedible. Server was argumentative and unhelpful in any way. Had high hopes but alas ye mateys.
June 2025, 5 STARS for the service, and 2 STARS for the food. We came for the first time because our friend wanted to go here since she lives across the road. However, after reading the reviews online I wanted to turn back and go home, but we were stuck coming here. The inside and outside had plenty of tables and no problem parking. The only good thing about the restaurant was the service was excellent and our Server Khi who was new on the job was wonderful. My Black Angus Burger was nothing to rave about, and my Sweet Potato Fries were not bad tasting. My friend ordered the soup which she couldn’t finish because it was too salty. The Manager took it away and gave her Burger instead which she was happy about. My other friend ordered the Bacon Wrapped Scallops that she said tasted just ok. I took one bite of the Scallop and spit it out - Not worth the $18.99. SAVE your money and order a Burger. All and all, I won’t be back here sorry to say. Plus I am definitely not letting my friends pick the restaurant next time.
So I’m not a person that is considered cheap by any means and I go to both expensive and moderate restaurants - it doesn’t matter as long as the food, service and the atmosphere are good. After having lunch today , I felt the need to share with you something that completely astonished me. I was meeting a friend for lunch. I had been here before( in march) the food and service was good so I agreed. We started by ordering our drinks, I asked for an unsweetened iced tea with extra lemons. When I got was my iced tea , it only had one lemon so the next time the server came by, I asked again if she could please bring me the extra lemons that I had ordered originally and she proceeded to tell me that there is an up charge of $2 ( never heard that before) Now I can understand if I was asking to swap or replace a side dish with something else but asking for more than 1 slice of lemon for a bitter tea is totally outrageous in my opinion. Out of principle, I declined the extra lemons, but I’m curious and help me out here… Do you consider a $2 dollar charge for slices of lemon to be normal or excessive? I would love to hear your opinion. For me, I will not be rushing to go back to Muddy Waters anytime soon but if I must go back one day, can you guess what I will be bringing along with me 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋-lol
We have been coming to Muddy Waters for years. It has always been great but our last 2 trips have been horrible. Tonight we waited 20 minutes for a table despite a lot of tables empty both inside and out. Once seated, we had a great waiter but waited an hour for our food. The food was great once it finally showed up but the wait was ridiculous. Asked for a manager after paying and she responded with indifference to our criticisms. We told her about how long we waited and her responses included "But was the food good?" and "It's season." I hope they make whatever changes they need to make.
This is a casual in the neighborhood bar in my opinion. Theme daily specials with, $5 Happy Hour everyday and a raw bar YUMMY. This was the second visit, shrimp was ordered it was the special for Saturdays. Grilled shrimp and blackened shrimp were ordered. The shrimp was a bit over cooked, the sauce served with it had a ranch flavor, this was not too my liking. Then ordered oysters and mussels from the raw bar. They are $0.99 great price can't go wrong with a raw bar. We messed up again and ordered the crab cakes, the presentation was a joke, mango sauce in the middle scared me and it was just fried filler with remnant traces of crab. We had several drinks, it was happy hour $5 drinks and $4 for wine. The Hostess was excellent she took pictures of us. The waitress was attentive.Everything was great! (EXCLUDING the shrimp special and crab) Unfortunately, an hour after we left, we discovered the debit card that paid the bill was being used to purchase a $1900 air bnb. The bank texted and called trying to confirm the fraudulent charges. The cardholder had their card in possession, and let the bank know they don't even have an air bnb account. It wasn't the card owner making these charges. If you leave your house in the morning, take an Uber to the airport (phone payment), sit in a section of the plane that gives free food and drinks (no need to take out a card to purchase), go to Muddy Waters, have a tab way over a hundred dollars because it's fun positive vibes there, give the waitress your card, get it back from her then go home, only to have your bank call you to state something fraudulent is happening on your card. Would you patronize Muddy Waters again? I would say yes only for the raw bar lol, yet I will never go there again.
I got the lunch sized chopped salad, not bad but simple and definitely needed something else. Some of the green peas were hard and crunchy , others were mushy. The red wine vinaigrette was literally one small cup of red wine vinegar and one small cup of oil. I don’t even think it was olive oil. The ahi tuna was not seared properly and way way too salty. I only had 2 bites and it’s one of my favorite foods!! The whole experience was extremely disappointing!!
Me and my family came here at about 5:40 ish got seated at maybe 6 maybe earlier we put our order “in” with our server we waited so so long and he kept saying it’s coming and then eventually he came out and said “you guys are gonna hate me,I never put your order in” welp me and my family got up and left..we had high hopes heard good things about this restaurant and the food but we waited so so long with no communication from our server…very disappointed
Waiter was amazing and nice! The owner on the other hand.. ruined the whole vibe. This place needs a new owner asap! Would i recommend coming here? Absolutely not! Way better options near by.
Haven't been there in a while but was disappointed with my dinner, sent back the lobster bisk, which was atrocious, just flavorless goop, bartender just grabbed it dumped it, and walked away. The scallops had an ammonia after taste. Its like nothing tasted fresh.
We are locals to DFB. We have tried and tried again to let Muddy Waters redeem themselves but it just doesn't happen. They blame the 1 hour wait on food to a small kitchen. They blame it on "season" when only half the tables are full. The reality is that this is the normal. I arrived at 5:55 p.m. and I left at 7:45 p.m. Most of that time was spent on waiting for my food without a warning that the kitchen was "backed up". I want this local neighborhood restaurant to work, but it doesn't. While the staff is great, the wait isn't. And they won't do anything about it except complain to the "owner". I did not even ask for a discount on my meal. All I did was ask that my concerns would be shared with the owner. The food is excellent and the manager will only ask you if the food was good to curb your complaint on the wait. But the wait is not okay. Something just isn't right. If you have 3 hours for a quick meal, this is the place for you. If not, think again.
“I forgot to put your order in” Then “Oh well, accidents happen!” First we waited 20 mins to be seated. Then Waited forever with the waiter coming out twice to say- just a few more minutes. Third time- “I’m gonna talk to the manager for you guys” over an hour later- after waiter is MIA and I asked for the manager. Who never came to our table. The Waiter reappears and says “you’re gonna hate me, but I totally forgot to put in your order!” We were getting up from table to leave and hostess cones over to say “oh well” accidents happen- what can you do?” we got up and left! Never again! Total waste of time and zero customer service!
