Best authentic mexican food!!! Just wish they had chips and salsa

Phenomenal Mexican food. Don't go expecting tex-mex. It's not on the menu.

Once you get past the language issue you will enjoy some phenomenal Mexican food. This is not Tex Mex.

If you want authentic wonderfully flavored Mexican food this is the place for you. The prices are very affordable. The decor is very simple but inviting.

Best tacos ever. You'll spend $2 a taco there. I get full on three tacos. Cash only and it's closed on Tuesdays randomly. But other than that I love it.

I always order the TexMex chicken enchiladas for take out since they don'thave fountain drinks. Portions are generous and the food is great. My only complaint is if you pay by card the card service they use wants your email address which they sell to other merchants.

Our favorite places to eat! We chose El Limon just about anytime we decide to eat out. Consistently delicious. Never disappointed. All it takes is one bite to be hooked. Waiter is welcoming and friendly and food is cooked pretty quickly if needing to take out.

Holy moly! This place is just amazing! I got the enchiladas with skirt steak. Big portions with a good price. House made tortillas and house made pickled veggies. The seasoning on the steak was perfect. Best Mexican food I’ve ever tasted.

Since moving to the Baton Rouge area from Chicago, the one thing we have missed terribly is the lack of good, authentic Mexican food. We decided to try El Limon. Within minutes of sitting down, if we closed our eyes it would feel as if we were back home. The horchata was fresh and delicious. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the mixed fajitas and I ordered the carne asada. We finally found a place we can go to when we fill a little homesick and miss our Chicago Mexican food.

If you have ever eaten in a local Mexican restaurant in The Rio Grand Valley or across the border, this will feel familiar. Great tacos and sopes, the chile relenno is my favorite. Seasoning is subtle and sublime. Busy at lunchtime, mid-afternoon is less hectic. The wait staff is fully bilingual and can assist with your questions.

Enchiladas Verdes de Pollo. I've traveled all over Mexico and the southwestern USA. These are the best I've ever had. Anywhere, straight up, hands down, flat out, period.

Ignore negative reviews from people who went to a taqueria expecting Tex-Mex. This is a legit Queretaro style taco shop. That means "street" tacos, meat plus onion and cilantro on corn tortillas. Unlike most taco shops, they make drinks like horchata, tamarindo and jamaica from scratch, not from powders. Good selection of pure cane sugar soda like Mexican Coke in the glass bottle in the case if you dont want a fountain drink. Everyone speaks enough English to help non-Spanish speaking customers. Easily the best tacos at a sit-down taqueria in BR that isn't a food truck. Cash-only, but they have an ATM there. This is a hole in the wall place for people who eat real Mexican food, if you want authentic, this is where you go.

UNTIL THEY CAME ALONG AND BECAME THE APPLES OF MY WORLD. I look forward to them every Tuesday, I don’t know what to do. It started off with only 2 tacos… then 4… then 6… now it’s 8 with a side of guacamole to put on top. If I scrapped up enough money from the bottom of my laundry basket then I’ll grab a coke too. I went to my old taco spots and it just wasn’t hitting like these dollar tacos. Today, I shoved 5 Al Pastor’s, 2 Carnitas, and 2 Asadas down my throat with a side of guacamole in one sitting. Mind you, I’m an average asian girl… I don’t know what to do with myself anymore… anyways… I’ll be back next tuesday<3 Also, all the workers are very sweet. Love you guys!!

This place probably has the best Menudo in town, it's rich in flavor, not so greasy and not too thin, customizable with all the ingredients that it comes with. The environment is very Mexican authentic. Good Micheladas and Margaritas. I definitely recommend it. The only negative thing in my opinion is the sauce for the chips. I know someone tried to be creative with it and be unique. But majority of people always expect that fresh sauce of mixed vegetables with a bit of spice.

OMG BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN BATON ROUGE!!! the restaurant was very clean and the service was FAST, helpful, and attentive. please consider changing your life and coming eat the tacos here. i ordered the steak, pastor and barbacoa tacos and they were so flavorful and the meats juicy. i found God in el limon. I LOVE EL LIMON MEXICAN RESTAURANT!! i may be exaggerating but they REALLY are good tacos.

Had taco Tuesday. These are the same as street tacos which are small. Had three. They do not come with rice and beans. They were very flavorful.

The refried beans were good. The sopes were so hard we couldn’t eat. The tamales were soso but dry. Would not recommend

CASH ONLY, what a pain. Skirt steak could have marinated a bit more but that is being critical. The shrimp was well cooked with a delicious flavor. The rice and beans where well on point as well. Sign is bit hard to find so look to the right of the strip mall.

First of all what a horrible customer service I went Tuesday and the waitress just kept cutting us off I am a waitress myself and it was just horrible I got the pollo a la plancha most blend chicken I have ever tried although aguas frescas were good other then that I really don’t recommend this place at all a food truck is way better then this

I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and was disappointed. They only take cash NO credit or debit cards. NO chips and salsa and NO margaritas there. I will give it another try down the road. Very small dining area and there was no one there besides the staff.
