My husband and I got takeout and shared: - Philly Cheesesteak Dumplings - We Have The Duck Roujiamo - Spicy Yaki-Soba All of it was phenomenal. The Duck Roujiamo was probably my favorite, but you really can't go wrong! The flavors were all fantastic. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try and if takeout was this good, I can't imagine how good it is fresh. I'll definitely be back!
Absolutely incredible experience! Definitely a trendy Downtown vibe. The staff were chill, friendly and knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was uniquely crafted and special. The amount of talent and thought that has gone into each dish is unsurpassed. The downstairs area was much more relaxed, whereas the upstairs is a bit more formal and potentially more expensive.
Walked straight into Bao upstairs, the tea room vibe is sooo sexy and intimate. Sat right at the bar and MJ immediately took care of us with a sake flight that was genuinely interesting (and fun, not intimidating). We did the veggie spring rolls, and she walked us through all the sauces like a pro. Such a perfect spot to pop into before a Nuggets game or honestly just because. Love that it’s locally owned, small business, and actually feels authentic. Cool, friendly, elevated without being pretentious. No overpriced Denver bs, just great vibes, great drinks, and an easy, fun time. Everyone needs to come here.
Stopped by Bao Brewhouse in downtown Denver and really enjoyed the experience. The place has a super cool Asian inspired design red lighting, wood details and a relaxed atmosphere that feels unique right when you walk in. The food was full of flavor and nicely presented. I had the miso soup, chicken skewers, and salad everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. The service was quick, the staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable for the quality. There’s plenty of room whether you sit at the bar, high stools, or tables across the three floors, so it’s great for solo dining or hanging with friends. Definitely one of the better spots downtown for Asian fusion food and good vibes. Tip: Check out the upper floor cool lighting and great people-watching!
Took my girl to Bao Brewhouse for their 5-year anniversary and ran the tasting menu. The space had a great feel to it — low red lighting, brick walls, lively but still intimate. Perfect energy for a date night. And the lamb was the standout. Cooked perfectly, rich, and packed with flavor.
Matt C was an amazing server. Made the experience even more enjoyable! Food was excellent. Highly recommend the “We Have The Duck Roujiamo” so crispy and light and duck was cooked perfectly!
Bao Brewhouse is awesome! I’ve had the pleasure of dining here multiple times, and it never disappoints. Huge shoutout to the entire staff for making the space so welcoming—and of course, for the consistently delicious food.
amazing happy hour deals! they had lovely service, the atmosphere is fun and food came out fast! the brussels sprouts are delicious, along with the pork soup dumplings and the fried chicken dumpling.
Bao was a great experience. Unique style from the bright red doors to the HVAC system designed to look like a dragon, the atmosphere was stylish and elegant. We did not need a reservation and were seated to a hightop. Menus and ordering were through an online system that was easy enough to use. Food was really good. We enjoyed Bao and dumplings to start. Both dishes were delicious and side sauces were fantastic. Main dish for me was spicy yakisoba. One of the best meals I have had downtown in a while.
I really enjoyed the fried chicken bao bun and the cream cheese rangoons were soo good. My server Cici was awesome and told me about the deals going on. The atmosphere was really nice and I bet it’s even better at night!
Hi Maria and all staff members of the baobrewhouse. Were super sweet to me on Saturday night September 20th before, Tate McRae Concert I loved sweet everybody was on that special night for me. Your Friend and repeat Customer Robin Crook. I'm going to send you Maria and staff some picture from the Tate McRae Concert Saturday night on September 20th. From the Ball Arena. This me at the Tate McRae Concert on Saturday night September 20th before the big Opening.
If you’re ever in Downtown and craving some Asian fusion, you have to check out BAO Brewhouse. I had the garlic rice and the spicy fried chicken BAO—and both hit the spot. The garlic rice was super flavorful, definitely lived up to the name, and the portion was big enough to share with two or three people. Now, the spicy fried chicken BAO? On point. Perfect balance of heat and crunch, packed with flavor. The atmosphere is just as impressive—great vibes all around. And let’s not forget the cocktails. Seriously, some of the best I’ve had in town. Big shoutout to their bartender, Wolf—this guy knows his craft. Hands down, best bartender in the city. Don’t sleep on this place. BAO Brewhouse is a gem.
We came on a Monday, unfortunately the tea room was closed (upstairs). But me and date enjoyed our menu options and dining experience downstairs. No reservations needed, quick and easy service. Our server alley gave us great recommendations
Was visiting Denver and came across this place on a whim. We were trying to find a restaurant that was open late on a weekday & got here just an hour before they closed. The staff were nice & we got seated right away on the first floor/tap room. Ordering on your phone was easy through the QR code. Food was brought out timely and everything we ordered was so delicious! Especially enjoyed the cocktails! Loved the ambiance of the restaurant, it gave very modern vibes with the decor, paintings, and lights. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!
We came here for a lunch and were positively surprised how delicious the food was! I really liked their soup dumplings and fried chicken bao, and my friend loved their Philly cheesesteak dumplings. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us good tips. We will definitely be back!
Came here to do my girls night/Christmas gift exchange & it was amazing! Food is good, service was good, & vibe is just overall amazing. Highly recommend a reservation to go to the tea room
Food was so good! I usually don’t like ordering off my phone they integrated into their service nicely as we had separate checks! Tons of add-ons and al carte options for customizing your dish!
Epic meal at Bao Brewhouse, just a 6 minute walk from Temple Buell Theater. We ate upstairs in the Tea Room, slightly different menu than the Tap Room downstairs. Big on the Pig was some of the best Gyoza we’ve ever had. Yuza Tuna Tartare was exceptional. DIY Lettuce Wraps were delightful. Fantastic meal, we will return!
This is the first place that I've ever been in Colorado where everythings on point. The food was on point, the atmosphere was on point, the music was on point. The cleanliness was on point, the welcoming was on point, the decor was on point, the staff was on point, especially Mathew C......on point.
Bao Brewhouse in Denver is a hidden gem that masterfully blends bold Asian flavors with an impressive drink selection in a sleek, modern setting. Located in the heart of downtown, this two-story spot offers an elevated yet welcoming experience, making it an excellent choice for a casual night out, date night, or even a solo meal at the bar. The star of the show here is, of course, the bao buns. Soft, pillowy, and perfectly balanced with flavorful fillings, these buns are a must-try. The menu offers a variety of options, ranging from traditional to more innovative takes, all executed with precision. Whether you go for the classic pork belly bao, with its melt-in-your-mouth meat and sweet-savory hoisin glaze, or a more unique option like the crispy tofu bao, there’s something to satisfy every craving. The buns are consistently fresh, light, and just the right size—substantial enough to be satisfying but not too heavy, making it easy to try multiple flavors in one sitting. Beyond the bao, the menu at Bao Brewhouse is excellent across the board. It’s well-curated, offering a mix of small plates, noodles, dumplings, and shareable dishes that highlight rich, authentic flavors with a modern twist. The dumplings are another standout, with delicate wrappers encasing juicy, well-seasoned fillings. The balance of textures and flavors in every dish is impressive, showing the kitchen’s attention to detail and commitment to quality. If you’re a fan of noodles, don’t skip out on their offerings, which are equally well-executed. The broths are deeply flavorful, and the noodle dishes have just the right level of spice, umami, and freshness. Of course, the drink program at Bao Brewhouse is just as strong as the food. The beer selection is solid, featuring both local brews and options that pair well with the bold flavors of the dishes. The cocktail menu is also worth exploring, offering creative takes that incorporate Asian ingredients and house-made syrups. Whether you’re in the mood for something refreshing, strong, or slightly sweet, there’s a drink that will complement your meal perfectly. The ambiance at Bao Brewhouse is another reason to visit. The space is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with a relaxed yet vibrant energy. The downstairs area has a cozy, intimate feel, while the upstairs bar brings a livelier vibe, making it a great spot to grab drinks with friends. The lighting, decor, and overall layout contribute to an inviting experience that feels trendy without being pretentious. Service is friendly and efficient, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Even when it gets busy, the team does a great job of keeping things running smoothly while maintaining a welcoming attitude. Bao Brewhouse is a must-visit for anyone in Denver looking for delicious, well-crafted food in a great setting. The bao buns alone are worth the trip, but the full menu is so well-executed that you’ll find yourself wanting to come back to try more. Whether you’re a fan of Asian cuisine or just looking for a unique dining experience, this spot delivers on all fronts.
We had the best experience tonight for my husband’s birthday. Beckett was a great server!
Great restaurant with some fun vibes. Friendly staff and delicious food. We were big fans of the crispy rice topped with bluefin tuna. It is served with jalapeño, eel sauce and spicy mayo and house-made pork soup dumplings, served with sweet black vinegar and chili oil. We also tried the half Peking duck which included crispy 5 spice roasted duck, bao buns, cucumbers, scallion, carrots, daikon sprouts, cilantro, and plum sauce. Lastly we had the fried green beans with garlic, ginger, honey Sichuan sauce, crispy onions, and furikake seasoning. Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Indoor seating options are very comfortable.
First time at Bao Brewhouse. Immediately welcomed and seated. Emma was so friendly and helpful! I recommend the Brussels!
we loved ally! amazing energy & delicious recommendations. we dined in the bao bar area. can’t wait to check out the tea room next date night!
Lina and her team knocked it out of the park. We rented the upstairs tea room. I received so many compliments the next day about how this was the best corporate offsite dinner venue we’ve had for the team. The staff was wonderful, attentive, detail oriented and the ambiance could not be beat (private bar , tables and standing areas with a beautiful modern Asian decor backdrop). Thank you for making our event a success!
The food is delicious, and the service in the tea room is really great. There was a live DJ spinning house music and I enjoyed that. I love that there are NA cocktails on the menu
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the menu is fantastic. You can order from your table with QR. Loved the Dim Sum style that allows for sharing/small plates. The food is fantastic. Flavorful, spiced, and delicious. Excellent service and fun staff. I really like the hole in the wall type atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Bao Brewhouse is an absolute gem in Denver. The vibes are on point, the food is insanely good, and the staff made everything feel easy and welcoming. The bao was fluffy and packed with flavor, and the drinks were super solid too. Perfect spot for a date night or bringing friends when you want to impress. Five stars all day, I’ll be back soon.
Last night at Bao Brewhouse was absolutely incredible. Celebrating their 5-year anniversary with a beautifully curated 5-course meal made the night feel even more special. Every course was thoughtfully presented, full of bold flavors, and perfectly balanced — you can truly taste the creativity and passion behind each dish. The atmosphere was vibrant and festive, the service was attentive and seamless, and the entire experience felt elevated from start to finish. It’s amazing to see what five years of vision, hard work, and dedication have built. Congratulations on 5 amazing years — Bao Brewhouse continues to raise the bar in Denver. Can’t wait to come back 🤍🥂
Have been going here for years, and I absolutely love the atmosphere and the food. The vibe is always fun and welcoming, it’s convenient whether we’re just stopping in for drinks or staying for dinner. Not to mention that the bao buns, and dumplings are always on point, and the staff is consistently friendly. One of my favorite spots in Denver!
Great experience and great food! Came here with some girl friends for the lunar new year prix fixe menu and we had a great time. The atmosphere, food and staff were all 10/10. Highly recommend! Will absolutely be back!
The food was really delicious! The lunch special wasn’t terrific, they limit your options so much, so it wasn’t of interest to us. But they had a lot of different choices on the menu. Some of the prices were astronomical, but some were not too bad. The vibe of the place is really cool!
We really enjoyed Bao Brewhouse. Our server was fantastic, and so were the cocktails. The food was hit and miss, honestly. The vibe in the place was fun, but it was a little loud and hectic at times. Still, I think we'd come back and make different food choices.
Red doors and a happy Buddha greeted us as we entered. We had reservations upstairs in the tea room. We ordered bbq pork buns, Kobe beef dumplings, and veggie egg rolls. I had a fun cocktail too. Food was excellent and easy to share. We had to wait a long time for our drinks to arrive, but overall service was good.
Solid 4/5 - I liked this place way more than I thought I would. Loved the vibe and they have different areas in the building for different atmospheres - all the way from a more formal sit down place to a takeout place. The food is hit or miss for the menu overall, but they have some absolute bangers. Dumplings and in-n-Bao will definitely keep me coming back. I had a plethora of other Bao that was just okay. Regardless the food is priced insane. Subjectively I’ll come back for my favorite items, but the Michelin bib MAKFam Chinese restaurant has a more solid menu AND is cheaper by a fair margin. Fun spot though - the vibe really makes the place
A little loud and dark, and too much focus on hot peppers in the food. But Bao is pretty good, some different dishes than what you would get at a traditional Asian place. Love the location near Larimer Square. Magical night on Christmas Eve. Appreciate that they were open then!
The food here is excellent, definitely on the pricier side since the portions are smaller, but it’s in downtown Denver so it’s on par for pricing. On average the dumplings are $20/plate and you get 3-5 dumplings (1-2 bites each). The Kobe beef dumplings were amazing and we ordered 2 plates. We had a 9:30p reservation on a Saturday for their Christmas theme and the decor was beautiful, and they sat us in an amazing and comfortable booth. My biggest issue was service and how long it took for food to arrive. We ordered all 4 plates when we sat down at 9:50, and didn’t receive the last plate until almost 10:45. We also added another plate (total of 5) and the waiter forgot to put the order in, so when he came back to see if we needed anything else we had to remind him of our previous order. I think my friends and I would have ordered more drinks if the waiter came around more, but because he didn’t check on us at all or come back very quickly, we only ended up getting 2 drinks each over the 2+hours we were there. He also never refilled our water. Overall I would probably come back, definitely earlier in the day so that hopefully the food and service would be quicker, but based on this experience, I would not recommend this as a quicker place to eat.
Great food. It's the definition of Asian fashion. I had these egg rolls with buffalo chicken in them!! Crazy but good. I was in the taproom. You need reservation for the upstairs. Anyways the 4 stars is because parking in Denver is like arguing with Satan !! Horrible. Also the restaurant kinda loud
The vibe here is super nice and chill downstairs. It feels more like a casual, social spot, which I love, especially when I'm stopping by before heading out downtown. Upstairs has a totally different feel; it's more upscale with dim, romantic lighting, perfect for a date night or a quieter evening. I usually opt for the downstairs option because it fits the pre-night out vibe I'm looking for. As for the drinks, I tried the margarita, but it was really salty. I'm definitely more of a sweet margarita kind of girl, so it wasn't my favorite, but if you like a saltier, more traditional margarita, you might enjoy it. The food, though, is absolutely delicious. The fried rice is amazing. There's some kind of meat mixed into it that's so flavorful, and I'm not even a big meat lover, so that's really saying something. The dumplings are another highlight. The Philly cheesesteak dumplings taste exactly like a Philly cheesesteak, they really nailed the flavor. The fried chicken dumplings are also some of my favorites. They're a great safe option if you're not in the mood for anything too bold, but still want something satisfying and tasty. One thing I really appreciate is how the workers take the time to explain the ingredients when they bring the food out. It makes the experience feel more personal and helps you really know what you're enjoying. Overall, this is such a great spot whether you're looking for a casual hangout or a more upscale night. I'll definitely keep coming back!
Beautiful tea room upstairs. We ate lunch in the bar area. You order from your phone. Staff bring food and drinks but no service other than that.
Its was okay...the atmosphere is really fun, we went for their Christmas pop up. The food was good not great, but for the prices I feel there should either be more food or the quality would be better. They said its served "family style" and the food comes out when its ready. But there were times the plates were 15 to 20 minutes apart and I would argue the plates were not shareable sizes, they felt more like single entrees. The concept felt confusing and not quite family style but also not individual meals. This lead to people eating alone while others waited for their food. Again for the price I would expect more. The drinks were nothing to rave about but im not sure if that was due to the holiday menu. Overall I don't think id go back which is unfortunate because the building is pretty cool.
Food was spectacular. Drinks were awesome, I love their Valentines Day cocktail list. Night was perfect minus the service. Waiter dropped our food off and literally never came back. We had to flag down another server to get us water and all of our drinks were practically empty. Unfortunate because the food is so good and the ambiance is perfect but the service made it a 3/10 for us.
We went to the Tap Room and were seated at a tiny shared bar along the wall. We asked to move to another wall spot with a bit more space, which was better. The Xiao Long Bao took about 40 minutes and we had to ask for it twice, though it was good once it arrived. The cider took around 20 minutes. We also ordered a mushroom fried rice dish, which came out fast and was good. The server said it’s “full service,” but you order and pay for everything on your phone. Nice atmosphere- maybe just a rough night!
They are open for lunch , but not really for weekday lunch. They open the door late, the service is slow and very difficult to do in a lunch hour. The food was okay especially I liked the crispy rice tuna. I would not recommend them if you're looking for a business lunch. The final straw was they suggested of substitution for the rice of a side salad but neglected to mention an $8 upcharge.
This place seems overrated. Service was fine. Food was unimpressive. The dumplings had an ok taste but weird texture. The skewers were rather plain. The drunken noodles were bland. And the garlic fried rice was wet. The price for the portion size was high. All in all, it’s a typical “hip and modern” sort of Chinese restaurant.
Our server was told about multiple nut allergies at the table and we were served two dishes with pistachios. Our own due diligence led us to discover the allergens present in the dishes and have to request redos from the kitchen. The manager wonderfully handled the situation with free redos of all plates (3) leaving us with more food than ordered. We wish the server’s attention to detail were turned on at the beginning of service but were pleased with the result from managerial staff.
This was some of the saltiest and most overpriced Asian food I’ve ever had. Only one vegan option - hot and sour soup. The server was was not very enthusiastic and oversold us on the food. The decor was cool but the place was very loud.
We sat downstairs at a high top table where you order through a website. There is an option to pick an allergy for every food item you order. We put sesame allergy for every single food item we ordered, but there were multiple food items that came out with sesame seeds on it. When I pulled one of the staff aside and asked if there was sesame oil in the bao buns and said I have an allergy, she just responded to me rudely and said “you see there are white and black sesame seeds on that, there is not sesame oil”. Not sure why there is even a place to choose an allergy when ordering if they are going to completely disregard it. If I was not able to see the sesame seeds, I could have had a horrible reaction.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. My boyfriend and I decided to go here for early Valentine’s dinner because he worked on Valentine’s Day, and to us, this seemed like a lovely place to go. Walking in, you’re greeted kindly and sat down immediately. That was the only good part of this experience. Firstly, I was given the wrong drink, which I understand happens, so I let it slide. We then ordered our dinner. We are told it is served family style, so we don’t order much when it comes out. It comes out like an appetizer, then you get your dinner about 20 minutes later. The portions are small, and the way you are served your food is NOT family style. We eat our dinner, and I start to notice the waitress is asking how everyone else’s meals are and being kind but not once asked us and just took the plates and such away when we were done. The main waiter we had was kind but did not ask us anything or come to check in much either, but he did with the other tables around us. I have a slight inkling that it is because of how we were dressed, as everyone who dressed fancy was treated with better service. Needless to say we won’t be coming back and I’m very saddened and disappointed because I was VERY excited to come here.
I really hate to have to leave this review but after living in Denver for 4+ years, I have to say this has been the worst restaurant experience I’ve had here as well as the most expensive. It was our first time and we decided to spend Valentine’s Day here. To start things off, we arrived on time and waited 45 minutes to be sat. This already dampened the mood but we decided to roll with it anyways. Next, they skipped our second course and when they did bring it to us after our third course, our server was flustered because one dish contained one extra piece more than it should have, and instead of just leaving it for us, went to get a “fresh batch”. The server also failed to bring us silverware when requested. I get it was a busy night and they appeared disorganized and understaffed, however, after everything was said and done, not a single thing was apologized for or comped as a courtesy for a ruined experience. We really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it relies too heavily on its aesthetic and vibe, and for the price point, it is absolutely not worth it, especially for Denver.
