Had such a lovely lunch today 🍜 Our server was incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. The restaurant was clean with a really pleasant, peaceful ambiance — especially since it wasn’t too busy this Sunday. The food was rich and full of flavor! I ordered the Yakisoba along with the seafood and chicken ramen, and both were absolutely satisfying. The only small downside was that the restroom bin hadn’t been emptied, but overall it was still a very good dining experience. Definitely a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday lunch 💕

Great experience at this restaurant. The waiters were friendly and were polite to enlighten our experience. Get their Chicken Karaage and their Furikake fires since those were delicious and fulfilling. The spicy mala and Tonkotsu soups were great as well as the appetizer we got. The drinks were refreshing like usual, and we liked the decor they had for Halloween. Highly recommend this place!

All of the food is great! The duck ramen and oysters are the best though! The decor and vibes are phenomenal. The service is a bit choppy in their communication, but they are very friendly so just be patient! Overall, well worth it

Came in for happy hour and I can definitely say this is a great happy hour spot! There is a ton to order on the hh menu. I sample the spicy tuna roll, pork bao buns, chilli wontons and gyoza. Out of everything I’d say the chili wontons were my favorite. The hh lychee martini was great and for 9$ I think it’s a great deal. Overall I think the regular prices are a little high for what you get, but for happy hour it’s well worth it. I also really like the overall aesthetic of the restaurant.

This is such a great place - the food is spectacular, the fish was so fresh and delicious, amd the service is impeccable. We also ordered the nigiri platter, but I was so excited to dig in I completely forgot to take a picture. We recently moved to Denver, so I am very happy we found this restaurant. I am sure we will become regulars

came by monday for happy hour for our first visit in and everything was so great. my husband and I got married that day and the bartender was phenomenal. chili wontons were my favorite thing on the happy hour menu. bartender recommended the med fatty tuna plate instead of the sashimi and it was a great choice. gyoza had a great crunch to them and the jalapeño hamachi was great as well. will absolutely be back!

Beautiful atmosphere! Seriously so nice and clean I loved every thing about this place. Fantastic service as well. I enjoyed our server. The presentation was so lovely! My eyes feel in love with how it was placed. Now the food was okay. Wish it was better and a little more fresh but what can you do in a land locked state.

Bomb Ramen! My husband had the Tonkotsu it was top 5 best tonkotsu ramen I’ve had. I wanted to be brave and try something new so I ordered the kimchi ramen and it was good but not as good as their tonkotsu. I added some chili oil to mine with an ice cold kirin beer - it was heaven. We also had the eel avocado sushi which was full of flavor and had a nice crunch. The Alaska salmon cucumber avocado roll was light and fresh. Then the spicy California- very flavorful and delicious. I was not impressed with the kobe bao buns. The buns themselves were perfect little pillows but the meat was dry and it needed a sauce. Would definitely come back. My son said this was the highlight of his trip to Denver

I was told I had to try Mizu Izakaya when visiting Denver, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The place was a bit crowded, so I was very glad I made a reservation ahead of time. The menu was packed with options, almost too many in the best way. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming. The first thing I ordered was the honey eggplant, and honestly, I want to take a flight back to Denver just for that dish alone. I don’t know what possessed me to go for a vegan roll afterward…that one’s on me, but it didn’t change how much I enjoyed the rest of the experience. There are still so many items on the menu that I’m excited to try next time I’m in town. The ambience also hit exactly the vibe I was hoping for: lively, and stylish without trying too hard.

It was great, the food is amazing. We got the vegas roll, tobi roll, and kobe beef roll, and also the spare ribs. Everything was delicious. It was a little loud but they have a nice outdoor setting that is a little better. Over all the place gives a nice ambiance, with simple meaningful design. Pricing was pretty reasonable as well, I'd come back to try other things!

Their food and drinks are always delicious. Their sushi roll and fish selection is outstanding, I go here with a want to treat myself to great food. During weekends they play music and usually it still allows you have a conversation.

Denver may be landlocked but this fish tastes like they caught it this morning. Wonderful service, huge menu to choose from, and beautifully maintained orchids throughout the restaurant.

Mizu Izakaya is an absolute gem in Denver! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an incredible ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was phenomenal—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the izakaya-style small plates were bursting with authentic flavors. The wagyu, ramen, and specialty rolls were all must-tries! Service was top-tier, with attentive and friendly staff who made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed. The cocktail menu was equally impressive, with expertly crafted drinks that perfectly complemented the meal. The vibes? Immaculate. The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, making it the perfect spot for a date night or a night out with friends. Mizu Izakaya truly exceeded all expectations—I’ll definitely be back!

There were about eight of us here for a birthday celebration and we were all very happy with all the dishes, ambiance, and service. Had some amazing appetizers, omakase, cocktails, and wagyu beef skewers. The food timing was great, and the waiter knew just when we were full. Everything was plated magnificently. Will be coming back again for sure.

This was our third visit, and once again, this Japanese restaurant impressed us. The ambience is romantic, with dim lighting that sets the perfect mood. Service was excellent. The specials were the highlight of our meal - especially the Chu-Toro carpaccio, which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Shrimp Shumai was juicy, meaty, and full of flavor. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh. Don't miss their yuzu ube margarita - it's my favorite cocktail here, a perfect balance with citrusy flavors. We'll definitely be back!

This place was a vibe overall! Inside looked very nice and unique! The Chicken Karaage appetizer was very very good! It comes with their house aioli dipping sauce and wow! Their Japanese Sausage skewers were yummy as well! Entree wise I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I would easily get it again. I added A5 Wagyu Bone Marrow to it which I’d say isn’t worth it.. I didn’t get a cocktail but I got their Purple Haze house sake and it was tasty! You should give this place a go!

I’ve been coming to Mizu for years, and it’s always such a fun experience! The vibe is great, the music is always on point, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I love bringing friends who are visiting me here—it’s the perfect spot to kick off a night out. They’re always so accommodating, and the food never disappoints. I usually order a little bit of everything because it’s too hard to choose! Some of my favorites are the Kobe beef buns, uni carbonara, hotate roll, crispy spicy tuna, and the Brussels sprouts—everything is consistently delicious. Lee, the owner, always takes the time to check on his guests and make sure everyone’s having a great time. You can really feel the care he puts into the space, and it makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

I love this place so much. The BEST SUSHI roll I’ve ever had is definitely the “High Roller”. The $ is worth it. All the food is so good and atmosphere is great! I would definitely recommend this place.

What a terrific lunch! It was a pleasure to pop in and sample a few hot apps. The octopus cakes with bonito flakes was wildly good! The chicken and pork gyoza are so crispy and rich. Loved the fried Brussels sprouts with candied pecans. Our server was real friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to return for happier hour!

Parking is found around all the streets. Very nice location and splendid interior. Had a reservation, that sat me immediately. Server was nice and helpful. It was busy, I didn’t mind at all. Great place for a dinner date. The sushi tasted great and fresh. Spicy edamame was good as well.

One of the best Happy Hours in town! Plenty of options for all under $10! I got two rolls (Philadelphia & Spicy Tuna), Kobe Beef Buns, Hamachi Jalapeno Sashimi, & a small hot sake for all for under $40! Jose was a fantastic server and I'll definitely be returning to try more on the Happy Hour menu!

We were given this recommendation from a friend who lives in Denver. The food was INCREDIBLE, the drinks were delightful, the food came out quickly, despite them being busy on NYE. The music was loud, the laughter along with the people having a great time, made the perfect downtown Denver experience. The ambience is beautiful, the lighting and decor really set the vibe. We would definitely go back on our next visit.

Update : 5/2025. Still amazing after 3 year later. New menu items to try and amazing food. Extremely accommodating and caring staff. Bar to hangout while waiting for table. Reservation is suggested but the bar is a option to hangout. Deserts and sushi are fresh and beautiful. There are options for non sushi lovers such as Japanese style dishes.

C

I went to this place on a recommendation from a friend and was just blown away. The atmosphere is beautiful, very cozy and well thought out. The food was just out of this world! I had the spicy edamame and a few sushi rolls and was left speechless. The service was just as incredible and our server recommended an incredible drink called "Fruity pebbles" which tasted just as the name suggests. I plan on visiting this place again very soon to continue trying all the other incredible dishes on their menu. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience. 1st time hear. The ombiance was incredible. Sushi was definitely some of the best I've had in all of Denver. Uni and the Chilean sea bass were a couple, that stood out. Top quality and fresh. You won't be disappointed if you love sushi.

Loved the sushi. The place is in great area, surrounded by some of our favorite casual and tasty spots. The waitress was a delight, the sushi was very, very, very tasty, the cocktails were on a weaker side but still ok. The birthday shot, though- absolutely delicious! We tried three different specialty rolls: rainbow, lohi, and Tokyo. We enjoyed them all but ended up ordering a second round of the Tokyo. It was so good. The gluten free options were clearly marked on the menu. Will come back again for sure!

Gorgeous restaurant in a great area, it's near Scarlet Salon and Little Man Ice Cream. The service and food quality was outstanding. There was a full bar and sushi bar with fresh herb growing in planters above the station. I loved the atmosphere although I was expecting soothing Japanese music. They were having trouble with the radio station they were using the day I went. There was seating on the patio, but we opted to eat inside. The food was wonderful, I had the ramen I had been craving. My husband had the wagyu beef fried rice and he enjoyed it. Nice place for a date.

Amazing place for dinner in the heart of the Highlands. Service is exceptional!!! They have a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. I loved it but my friends wished it was quieter. We did a birthday celebration where they bring a sparkler to the table. Pretty awesome!

B

Awesome service, atmosphere, food, and vibe. We ate and drank during happy hour with out 2 children. Cost was significantly lower. Clean restrooms, kid friendly with out having us placed near couples dining in private/quiet. Excellent restaurant and in tuned staff.

This has been my favorite restaurant in Denver for years and I dont think it will ever be beat. I named my dog after this place.. From the wonderful staff to the incredible food, youre never going to be disappointed. Ive had multiple birthdays here and will continue to frequent this restaurant as long as Im in Colorado. Thank you for the many memories created and many more to come!

My wife and I had a fantastic experience here for dinner. We enjoyed multiple starters as well as a couple sushi rolls and drinks. The Japanese old fashioned is very good! The service was great and our server was very attentive. The atmosphere is cool with lots of decor and flowers throughout. They did have a DJ on the Friday evening we went which was cool but was a fairly loud. I would recommend checking this spot out and I plan to come again.

Came for happy hour and everything was delicious! The food came out quick, drinks were great and the vibe was perfect for our impromptu date night. I also loved that they had a nice selection of spirit free, sophisticated mocktails that werent just juice and soda water. Outside of the happy hour menu we got the duck ramen to share, definitely recommend that! We're already planning our next visit.

Went for a date night to enjoy happy hour. Great vibes and was perfect for a cozy night out. Service is quick and extremely attentive. The food came out fast but was very very fresh and great quality. Would go back again!

Atmosphere - Love the vibe! It feels like an upscale club at night. It also feels cozy with the dim lighting! I've chosen this place to celebrate my birthday the last 2 years & I love how they bring out a sparkler for the table :) It's a fun spot to go with a group of friends or on a date! Food - We ordered a bunch of sushi for the table and I had sashimi as well. All was good! I loved the sea bass too! Highly recommend that dish. The king crab legs & mussels are pictured below & were tasty too! I would recommend this place for a fun night out with friends or date night!

On the pricey side, even with half-price happy hour, but it's nice food! Not mouthwatering, but nice! Great atmosphere and service!

Really like the layout and the openness of the restaurant. The servers and staff are really friendly! The food was really good I just wish the rice for the sushi and nigiri was seasoned a bit more. I really enjoyed the freshness and taste of the unagi & fatty tuna. Happy hour is awesome! I looooved the yuzu ube margarita, like I can't wait to come back specifically for this delicious drink! Overall I enjoyed it and look forward to coming back, if the rice was seasoned more it would be 5 stars and one of my fav nigiri spots.

We ordered a sashimi combo 25% was “tamago aka egg”. Music was loud our waitress disappeared on us frequently. Extremely disappointed 😒

R
Renee Fry

The rolls were good. The cavier topper was not the best quality. The Ramen was very fishy tasting. Cocktails are really expensive. The asian margarita tastes odd. Incredibly loud techno music made it impossible to talk! I don't get spending that much money on food and having to listen to too loud dance music....Weird! Not sure I would go back.

T
Tohmi Barrett

The food was just not that good. We got the special lobster dumplings and they were dry and bland (poor lobster died to be in an underwhelming dish). The rolls were also not especially tasty. I ate just a piece of fish off one of the tuna rolls and it didn’t taste fresh or buttery, it tasted like a fishing dock. The service was nice, but it was hard to hear over the loud DJ they sat us right next to for a birthday celebration. It’s not worth the prices. I won’t be coming back.

Went here for my birthday last night. While the food was incredible and the atmosphere was super fun and a great vibe, I was very disappointed with the service. Our server seemed kind of disinterested in our table compared to the rest of their tables. Two of us ordered drinks before the rest of our party showed up, and when two more people showed up, they weren’t asked if they wanted drinks until quite a while had passed. It took us a while to order appetizers, and then our server rushed away before we could order anything else. We had to flag them down to order one more appetizer. We were never offered refills on drinks and had to ask for them. Our server seemed much more interested and lively with other tables. After we got our sushi, we were never offered the opportunity to order anything else, when we wanted more rolls. Our plates were taken and then a birthday dessert came for me, then our bill and that was it. Would definitely come back for some of the food, maybe just not on a Friday or for another birthday.

J
Janette Chavez

Came here on Friday night with a big group for a friends birthday. The food and drinks came out quickly and the presentation of the food looked great. Sadly, our waitress was rude and was bothered any time we would ask a question. The food also lacked flavor. The vibe was cool but not worth the money

E
Ethan Curtis

Easily one of the most mid Japanese restaurants in Denver. Been here a few times and every time the food is mediocre and you are forced to yell across the table so the people you are with can hear you because someone thought that having a dj blasting music is the perfect fit for a Japanese restaurant. If you want good food and the ability to talk to people at a normal volume then go somewhere else. If you want decent food and think eating Japanese food in a place with a dj makes you cool then you have found the right place.

N
Nick Martin

Service was awful with server only coming around every 20 minutes and forgetting multiple items. They brought a Diet Coke after waiting 15 minutes with most of the ice melted and left it on the bill. General unawareness from the wait staff. Atmosphere was also very loud but that’s personal preference. With all of that said, food was good but a bit overpriced in comparison to other Denver sushi spots with similar or better fish quality.

K
Kiara Griffin

Went here for my birthday. The vibe was nice and the food was okay. The drinks were really good. Our server, Maddy, was so rude though. She had an attitude from the moment we got there. She definitely made me not want to go back. If the tip wasn’t already included she wouldn’t have got much because she really didn’t deserve it. Hopefully she does better or maybe it was a bad day. But either way she ruined the experience.

We dined at Mizu, Friday October 10. It’s super cute and vibey, lots of guests, but we had a terrible time. The host had absolutely no warmth or inviting energy, she finally smiled when we were leaving. Server took 5 minutes to greet us and never told us her name, just asked for our drinks. We got some happy hour items, a few other starters, and 2 rolls. The Brussels sprouts were a strong start! The shrimp shumai tasted simultaneously over steamed and undercooked in the middle. The chili oil on the spicy cucumbers tasted stale, like oil that has been sitting for like two years at the back of the cupboard. Between the two rolls, the Hotate was the best. We also got I think the RiNo roll? The amount of actual jalapeño was standard, a thin slice per roll, however something else had to have been spicy as well. It was inedible. Not to mention, everything about service was slow. After one dish was done, we’d sit and wait for the next course. Our server checked on us like twice and took so long at the end I almost flagged anyone down just to pay and leave. I doubt I will ever be back.

We really wanted to love our experience but it was a horrible experience. The music was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation or hear the waitstaff at all. We ordered two drinks showed up quickly but and they were great but that was the only good experience of our 1.5 time in the restaurant. The waitress was more concerned with a 6 top, took a long time to come back for orders. We ordered 3 appetizers - potato korokke, chili wontons and the kobe beef buns, two meals - surf n’ turf and their special of salmon. The korokke showed up quickly and we waited over 30 minutes for anything else to arrive. The buns were wrong, we got the pork belly instead which we specifically made sure we were clear we did not want because of the slaw. The surf n’ turf arrived before any of the other appetizers and no other meal in sight. The waitress finally came back to ask what we needed and we told her everything we were missing. All of the food came out at once. The appetizers were good, but the tenderloin on the surf n’ turf was chewy and bland, mashed potatoes were cold and too many flavors in one dish. The salmon had hair on it and we asked for a new one, our waitress said she would have a new one made. The manager came by and offered to make everything, so we waited… And waited some more and the waitress came back to ask what we were waiting on to which we replied the other meal. Turns out they cancelled the remake. So 1.5 hours with overly loud music, cool artwork, good drinks and so-so food that took forever to arrive and cancelling a meal after agreeing to make it right. I would suggest steering very clear of this place.

C
Clayton Smith

Food was mediocre at best. I ordered a standard fountain lemonade and received a glass filled entirely with ice. When I asked for a refill, I was charged again with no prior mention that refills weren’t included. Charging twice for a basic fountain drink feels pretty desperate. To make matters worse, the sign at the entrance advertised happy hour specials, but we were told at the end that they “weren’t doing happy hour today.” That would’ve been nice to know beforehand. There was also a 3% “industry impact surcharge” added to the bill with zero disclosure. All of it comes across as deceptive. Won’t be coming back.

J
Jules Brualdi

The food was not worth the amount of money it cost, while there were entrees that were good, there were others that were really just unpleasant at best. They charged for water if you didn’t specify that you wanted tap, and the water would have been $8 per person. The music was way too loud, we could hear the people next to us while raising our voices but could not hear those across from or diagonal to us. The service wasn’t very timely, we ended up waiting 30 minutes for our drinks and then over an hour for the bulk of our order, and then yet another 30 minutes for dessert. They also didn’t deliver all entrees at the same time, there were those in our party who received food 30 minutes before others at least. They do very large bright sparklers for birthdays and the smoke left behind from those makes the whole restaurant smell like fireworks for several minute afterwards. The atmosphere is really wonderful otherwise the lighting is perfect it’s not too bright or too dim but the music is simply way too loud for a sit-down restaurant and ruins the overall experience. Overall very disappointed in our experience.

D
Derek Dittmer

Don’t know how this place has so many good ratings. The food here is no where near worth the price and either people like tasteless sushi or don’t know what good sushi tastes like. We ordered a negi toro roll, Vegas roll, unagi nigiri and chili wontons. The negi toro roll which is tiny absolutely required soy sauce for any flavor which is sad for $16, the chili wontons were a bland $12, and the Vegas roll was comprised of about 45% cream cheese and 45% avocado and MAYBE a sliver of salmon for $18. Oh yeah and tasted like nothing (surprise surprise), even being a deep fried roll lol. The unagi nigiri were fine. Hopefully their bowls are better, but I’ll never find out because I don’t think I’ll be giving this place another shot. Especially when you have so many other amazing sushi restaurants in Denver.
