The pizza, oh man, it was soooo DELICIOUS! That chili oil they give you, amazing! The staff, INCREDIBLE! It was quite busy when we were there so maybe a reservation would be helpful. Two people shared this pizza and it was more than enough! It was crispy, and had more than plenty of toppings. Stop by if you want some great pizza in a very chill but cool spot! CHEERS!
Basement Italian!? Yes please! Located in the heart of Larimer Square, this little gem rocks a 5/5 across the board. The service, food, prices, and cocktails were outstanding. Started with their burrata. Heathy portion of cheese surrounded by a perfectly proportioned amount of fresh baked sourdough bread. My mouth is watering all over again. Next up was the caesar salad! An entree in itself. Deliciously topped with two anchovies to stay true to form. Ended with the pesto campanelle. The chicken was so juicy and once again staying true to how the Italians do it, a healthy portion to split #familystyle. Big shout out to Eric S.! 11/10 customer service. Fabulous recommendations and tentative throughout our visit. We will most definitely be coming back. P.S. the fresh Parmesan on top of the salad was simply divine.
Sat at the bar as a walk-in at around 645pm and had an awesome time. Definitely get the burrata. It's so fresh and was like butter on the toasted sour dough. We were deciding between a lot of the delicious restaurants on Larimer and do happy we chose this one! The bartender suggested the bucatini carbonara with the chicken parm on top and it was a perfect splitting meal. Great date night spot. We definitely spent more money on drinks than food. Note that the 22% tip is added on.
Great place to stop in for a good pre theater bite. We ordered a salad and a few apps to share...highlight was the roasted squash mixed green salad....this was soooo great! Next best was the fried calamari...flavorful and crisp, yet not oily and overcooked as a lot of restaurants seem to do. Our least favorite, was what they are "famous" for, the house made Burrata. It was by no means bad, just compared to the others it was just very plain. Would have liked to see something else with it to compliment.... Sevice was great and fast even with a full restaurant. It is a bit loud though, but as expected for a lively restaurant. We look forward to returning!
Very cozy feel to this beautiful downstairs restaurant. Had a bit of a hiccup when our server got overwhelmed with a big group but he (Bennett) and the host/front of house (Joel) swooped in quickly. The food is.. amazing. We had the mussels, mushroom pizza short rib. All were delicious. They recommended a fantastic wine. Great experience. Great food. Great service. Highly recommend!!
12/30/25 Truly a stellar experience and what stood out the most was the most incredible staff and their friendliness! We are new fans and will return… Only constructive criticism was that online I requested the best seats in the house for our first visit and a double date, and we even arrived half an hour early to enjoy a cocktail at the bar and scope out where we would like to be seated… they originally assigned a terrible booth location then I requested the fabulous and wide open “wine room” area, but they STILL placed us in a corner by the stairs and felt secluded / stuck in back. Our reservations were 630p and still didn’t get sat until 645p despite arriving early :( I feel they knew this and apologized with comp lemon cello shots and cookies.
Cozy, amazing service and amazing food. What more could you ask for. We had the espresso martinis which were top notch, the Bolognese, cacio e pepe and the chicken parmesan. All 10/10
An absolute dream of a girl's night! Celebrating a friends 40th turned into being wined and dined at Osteria Marco....a small glass of prosecco, burrata as some had not been, and a dessert for the birthday girl. All on the house! It was a memorable one. The only reason the food got 4 is there was a lack of salt on some of the pasta dishes. With hand rolled noodles, it's a common thing. Other than that, it was perfection!
Authentic Italian, Amazing Food, and Fantastic for Groups We had an incredible dinner at this Italian restaurant and it exceeded expectations on every level. We came with a big group of about 10 people, and the staff handled it flawlessly—from the seating arrangements to the service, everything was smooth and well-organized. It’s not always easy to find a place that can accommodate a large party while still delivering top-notch food and service, but they absolutely nailed it. The meal itself was outstanding. We started with a variety of fresh salads, which were crisp, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The pasta dishes were a real highlight—each one cooked perfectly al dente and full of rich, authentic Italian flavor. The pizzas were just as impressive, with delicious crusts and fresh toppings that had everyone reaching for seconds. We finished off with dessert, and it was the perfect ending. Whether it was the classic tiramisu or another sweet treat, everything was delicious and clearly made in-house with care. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff remained attentive throughout the evening—even with a full table. They made sure drinks were topped up, courses came out in good time, and everyone felt well taken care of. If you’re looking for genuine Italian cuisine and a place that can handle a crowd without sacrificing quality, this is it. Highly recommend and would definitely come back again!
The food here is fabulous! You can taste the traditional, fresh flavor while surrounded by a cozy Italian atmosphere. Mike was our server and he went above and beyond to make our daughter's birthday experience 1000% memorable!
Beck was the best waitress / server we encountered in all of Denver. Her laugh, and genuine care for how your meal is going did not go unnoticed. This place adds in gratuity to your bill - but she deserved extra. The outdoor seating is so cute! Great place to people watch. The food was excellent. We both had pasta. Flavors were amazing. Cocktails and bubbly were the perfect way to say goodbye to Denver.
We stumbled upon this place and now love it! Food was fresh, great quality, and loved the atmosphere. We'll be back.
Bottomless bingo drag brunch was amazing! Shirley Delta Blow and Starr Kirkland were phenomenal hostesses.
A friend invited us to this place and was definitely a 5 star experience. This is why: 1. The quality of the food - homemade pastas, high quality ingredients 2. Best service - our server kept coming back to check on us 3. Best desserts - see pics We tried also the pizza with the figs and that was really, really good. The salads too.
I love this place! We found it when we were going down the Plaza (were visiting) and I'm so glad we did when you go in you get seated down in a basement area that had a really good atmosphere with dimmed lights, I ordered pizza with a Shirley temple which were both very good. And our server was great she was very kind. 5 stars Would recommend for dining anytime
We asked where the best Italian restaurant was and they said try Osteria Marco. They weren’t wrong. The food was very good. Burrata is definitely worth a try. Service was efficient. My only comment would be the 22% service charge. The hostess did mention this as we were seated and having travelled in Europe, you get used to it.
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Came for an early dinner & sat outside - perfect spot to people watch and enjoy great food. The osso bucco, shrimp fra diavola, & the prosciutto pizza were all so delicious. Amazing service. We loved Kayla so much - she is funny, attentive, and knowledge. I hope you’re lucky enough to get her as your server.
What to say, what to say, what to say!? Well, the staff were wonderful… Came back and checked often. Helped me rearrange my reservation. Food and drinks were absolutely incredible. We dined downstairs and even got a free dessert for our birthday celebration. A little on the pricey side, but that is be expected for downtown Denver, lol. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back again.
Everybody tells you to go to Larimer Square when im Denver. However there's not really much to do there unless you're eating. The good thing is there are plenty of nice restaurants to choose from depending on what kind of food you're craving. I've been wanting to wat real carbonara for a while now and Osteria Marco has them so that's where we went. This carbonara was creamy without being heavy and the guanciale was perfect because it wasn't too salty and there's no overpowering taste. (Sometimes some places replace it with bacon or pancetta which sometimes are too flavorful for the delicate cream unless if this pasta.) My sister got the Lobster Taglierini which is cooked in squid ink and had ample amounts of lobster-- very much worth it's price. As a starter we had the Chef's Selection of Cheeses, which was the perfect starter to go with our limoncello spritzers lol We decided to stay in the patio as it was a lovely evening and I didn't want to be in the dark inside. The patio can get busy but it was nice for people watching. I had a very pleasant dinner here indeed.
Fabulous meal, delicious flavors and good portions. The Bruschetta is not traditional as you would expect, but so very delicious. A must try. The steak cooked and seasoned to perfection. We would definitely come back again and bring others!
Wonderful everything! Food was delicious and our server Tara was exceptional! We were seated on the patio and felt like we were in Italy.
What a treat! It was extremely difficult to choose something to order as all of the plates around me looked stunning and delicious. I got the salmon which was the best - it just melted in my mouth like butter. We got a mozzarella and artichoke appetizer. Also chose to share the chocolate for dessert, which was scrumptious. I definitely recommend you reserve a table ahead of time because they're always getting reservations filled. Full bar with open seating. You have to go down stairs to get to restaurant. I did not see elevator access, FYI.
I was brought here for my birthday today, and I couldn’t be more grateful! Brittany was our server and she made this experience absolutely memorable!!! Food was delicious, dessert was fabulous, 10/10 recommend!!!
We had a company dinner in one the private dining areas, this was a top of the line experience. The wait staff were extremely professional and on top of it, their recommendations were on point. The food itself, was delectable and impressive in presentation. I ordered the lobster and Scallops, then had cheesecake for dessert. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and comforting. Amazing restaurant
Our first visit to celebrate an anniversary and birthday. Every single dish we ordered was amazing! The service was top-notch! The atmosphere was perfect! I cannot wait to visit again.
My husband and I come here from two hours away as often as we can! The food is incredible and the service is top notch! Our most recent trip was for our anniversary, and our waiter, Tyler M. was amazing! He was extremely attentive and very personable!
My date and I came in on a Friday night, the same time when a larger group came in —and they found us seats at the bar. I thought maybe it would stifle the night but the joy of the servers was palpable. Just seeing how they interacted with each other means I am definitely coming back. Terry made our night magical and really went above and beyond for us. When he found out we going to Comedy Works after, he even kept time for us. And the food was amazing! Great experience!
The food was amazing! You can’t really go wrong with anything but they’re famous for their burrata for a reason, the calamari and carne pizza were also very delicious. Espresso martinis were bomb too. I wanted to give a special shout out to our server Terry — He was awesome 👏🏼 great customer service, friendly and conversational and gave great recommendations. Surprised us with champagne which was a very nice touch.
A lovely dining experience, I almost forgot I was at the airport! The food and service was very fast. I got the mushroom truffle pasta and it was deliciously well balanced. My server, Kim, went above and beyond and was mindful of time constraints. Top class service! So happy they have this location at DIA.
Our server was Tara and she was truly the best. That girl knows how to take care of her customers. Would come back for her alone. Amazing food, great time. Thank you so much to all staff and cooks. The drinks are to die for as well.
My wife brought me here for my birthday, and it was genuinely one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Our waitress overheard us talking about the burrata, and brought some out on the house, along with prosecco and limoncello. The bolognese and calamari were amazing. The entire wait staff is on point. Can't wait to come back!
OM was a delicious stop on our mini tour of Denver. Of the short ribs, my son said “it couldn’t have been better” and he kept talking about his meal all the way home. They devoured the mussels and the chicken parmesan. My salad- arugula with oranges, grilled chicken and parmesan crisps was light and delicious. Our server Eric was engaged, friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside was that the music was too loud.
At first I went in skeptical, thinking it was just another italian place but it turned out to be an amazing little place. The Waiter Walter and Abu The Host chased me down multiple stairs and ran halfway across the airport to find and deliver my envelope I left behind. They went above and beyond showing Pride in what they do, Respect in others, and commitment to cause they truly believe. And their tiramisu is the best ive ever had Dont let walking up a few stairs in the denver airport stop you from enjoying amazing food and services
This is my go-to spot when I’m flying out of Denver airport. Go to level 3 of the B terminal and you can find this hidden gem. Delicious food and great service! Ask for Walter, he is awesome and order the pizza (carne or mushroom are my favorites!). I’ll be back soon!
The food at Osteria Marco is some of the best in Denver (the Carbonara is incredible). But the real reason I keep going back is because of Nate the bartender. This guy makes the best old fashioned I’ve ever had and always hooks it up! Such a cool guy and always makes the experience a 10/10. If you go, try to sit at the bar!
Amazing carbonara and pear salad. Calm environment Tara was an amazing server and explained the menu and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our first time here!
My husband was given a gift certificate to this restaurant for his 77th birthday. We absolutely loved it. One of the best dining experiences we've shared. I was especially excited about the burrata. It is the closest thing to my favorite cheese in Puglia, Italy that I'd had here in the states. My husband needed gf. He loved his pizza and said the mushrooms and truffle sauce were the best he'd ever had. And the chocolate bomb for desert was . . . well, the bomb! But what made our experience most special was our server, Cara. She somehow pulled off being efficient while also being personable. It was very busy. We got one of the last reservations, but she served us as if the room wasn't full. When she found out we were celebrating my husband, we got desert on the house. I also told her that I'd had a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Italy the summer before to celebrate 50 years of friendship with my childhood best friend. She brought me a limoncello so I could continue to embrace the memories the fabulous burrata, Aperol Spritz, and Italian wine were bringing up. The experience was joyous. It will be one of our life-long treasured memories . . . and is likely our new anniversary restaurant.
It was a cute vibe and service was good! We ordered the shortbread pizza that was way too cheesy (and I love cheese) and they took liberties with the carbonara; they used guanciale which is a bonus, but otherwise the flavor was somewhat sweet and something that I couldn’t quite place while this should be a very simple pasta
★★★★ (really more like 3½ stars) Osteria Marco has been one of my favorite Denver restaurants for many years. The food is consistently delicious — the burrata is as good as what my Italian Nana used to make! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is generally decent, though not quite at the level you’d hope for given the 22% mandatory service fee and the expectation of an additional tip. I completely respect supporting a living wage for staff, but the overall cost has gotten pretty steep, which makes it harder to justify for a regular dinner. I still love stopping in for happy hour — great food, good energy, and a more reasonable way to enjoy a longtime favorite.
This was a great place to go for a date night. The espresso martini was the highlight of the experience- loved that they used tequila rather than vodka. The meat pizza also felt very authentic and was quite good. Definitely not your average takeout pizza, mind you. The carbonara pasta was good, very filling despite the relatively smaller portion size. I’d say it was not my favorite though, hate to say it but the pasta was a little bland.
While showing an out of town guest around Denver, we decided to have lunch at Osteria Marco. The weather was perfect, so we opted for outdoor seating, which was great for people-watching. I love that the street is closed to cars, allowing more space for restaurant seating. The bubbly hostess let us choose our own table, and our server, John, was friendly, attentive, and quick. The sparkling Rosé was a refreshing choice for the warm day. We ordered a Caesar salad and a Watermelon salad, both of which were generously portioned. Some fresh bread would have been a nice addition, though. We passed on dessert since we had other plans, but the dinner seating in the basement looked intriguing. Looking forward to returning for an evening meal!
This place was cool. They do an automatic 22% service fee but they let you know once you are seated. The Arancini were phenomenal! They take you downstairs to the basement to be seated, which adds a unique vibe. I ordered the Mushroom Fusilli and added prawns since the dish doesn’t come with any protein. The prawns were really good and I’m glad I added them, but the pasta itself lacked a lot of flavor and seasoning… My wife got a panini and it was huge. She really liked it! So be aware of the panini portion. Overall, everything was good except the Fusilli I’d have to say.
The food and service were fantastic. You cannot beat homemade pasta. The size of their shrimp and scallops were enormous and cooked to perfection. The patio dining was wonderful. I highly recommend the cucumber gin cocktail . Overall great experience with great service. The price was moderately high, but you get what you pay for.
Love the location and the downstairs vibe. Super knowledgeable bartender and very nice. Had a delicious Italian wine and solid classic cocktails. Very good arugula salad. Always delicious flavors but it shouldn't be this hard to dial in a good pizza crust with all these years in the business. 4.5 on balance.
Food was great - you can tell it is a scratch kitchen. It was non traditional Italian, nonetheless executed well. Burratta and Lasagna were a symphony of flavors. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
I made a reservation and noted that we were there for a birthday. When we were seated, our server asked whose birthday and it was and gave us complimentary glasses of prosecco. They make their burrata fresh daily so the server recommended that we try it since we've never been there before. We ordered it and it was very mild and tasty. Very creamy with a skin. We also had the mussels. The tomato broth was very flavorful and the sausage slices were delicious. It was served with a very thick slice of bread, toasted and cut in two. I had the seared sea scallops which were cooked perfectly and very tender. There was a mushroom risotto and beurre blanc sauce over everything. My husband had the cast iron lasagna The flavor was good, but it was pretty dry and could have used some more sauce. He had a couple of bites and then finished my scallop dish. We also had the chocolate bomb with strawberries. It was very rich and delicious. This was complimentary for his birthday, which was a nice treat! They have a mandatory "happy people" service fee of 22% that is split between all staff to help them have a living wage. This is not considered a gratuity. I did end up leaving an additional tip.that would be split between servers. While the service was excellent, the concept is a little diff for me to stomach as I feel like I paid 40% for service.
The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the food isn’t actual authentic Italian. It’s Americanized. Having said that, it’s good. Just don’t expect real Italian food. Real Italian pasta does not use heavy cream. Our server was awesome. We had a great time and like I said the food was good just not authentic. I found the tiramisu to be overly sweet but that’s a personal preference.
Osteria Marco looks nice at first glance, but it’s basically a dark, noisy basement. The acoustics are bad—conversation becomes shouting the moment it gets busy. Food was fine, nothing special for the price, and service was friendly but scattered. Overhyped spot with great branding but little charm once you’re seated.
Over it! My family and I have been here many times. We enjoy the basement space. The food is solid each time. However, we have finally decided not to return since their service charge has always been explained differently to us. Is it 22% and then you still add an additional tip or 22% and no additional tip required!?! The last time we visited we felt oddly pressured by the server to leave 22% service charge and 20% gratuity. We won’t be returning since they can’t seem to figure how to properly communicate to their customers.
Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a restaurant of this reputation. I made a reservation over two months in advance for a group of six at 5:00 p.m. Despite arriving on time, we were seated at a high-top table with barstools, which is completely inappropriate for a party of six; particularly when multiple standard tables were clearly available around us. When we asked to be moved, we were flatly refused. After being seated, we waited nearly 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. No drink order, no greeting; nothing. I eventually had to walk up to the hostess stand and ask for service. When someone finally came over, there was no apology for the delay; instead, it felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by asking for basic service. To make matters worse, at least two tables that were seated after us were served before us, despite our on-time reservation. When we asked about portion sizes, we were told items were “tennis ball sized,” only to receive portions that were barely golf ball sized. We spent over $600 as a table and were treated like an afterthought from start to finish. On top of that, a 22% service charge was added to the bill without any clear communication or explanation, totaling over $100, which was never pointed out when the check was dropped. As a mom enjoying my first night out in six months, this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. No apology for the wait, no acknowledgment of the poor service, and no effort to make things right. I will never return and I would not recommend Osteria Marco to anyone looking for good service or a welcoming dining experience; especially for special occasions or reservations made well in advance.
