We went here for our Christmas eve dinner and it was absolutely wonderful! We loved our waiter, the cocktails, food and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
This place far exceeded my expectations in a few areas. We used to frequent Parisi when we lived in the neighborhood and for no good reason made it to Firenze during that time. My boyfriend had a client in town from Ireland and wanted to go somewhere nice but not too fancy where we could enjoy conversation and good food, this IS the perfect place!! Fabulous service, each person that helped us was kind and answered any questions we had and was so gracious in serving each course, it was delightful! The ambience is so warm, welcoming and reticent of the Italian grottos we visited a few years ago in Italy. We shared the antipasta for the whole table. I ordered the burrata for the group but really kept it all to myself (it was so fresh and the pesto drizzle was so tasty!) I enjoyed 2 glasses of barolo with my risotto but couldn't find the space for dessert. Next time for sure! This place would also be an amazing venue for an intimate wedding reception or large groom's dinner or a birthday dinner.
The good was authentic Italian. But the parking is very difficult. Save yourself a lot of trouble and Uber. Their parking lot holds about 10 cars.
Highly highly recommended this Italian place. Very authentic, and service is top notch. I got their special lobster, and I couldn't ask for anything better. The lobster was so tender, and was mixed with clams and pasta. I'm not so crazy about italian, but Firenze has definetly changed that for me.
Excellent food, with lots of options including gluten free pasta.
The foods it’s delicious 🤤 and the best coffee!!!!
Firenze, the downstairs restaurant is temporarily closed, but Parisi, on the main level, has the same kitchen and the food and service was amazing! Parking is limited.
We were delighted to dine at Parisi Sotto. We had dined many times at our favorite Italian restaurant, Firenze a Tavola, practically since it opened in 2006. Sadly, during the pandemic, Firenze struggled and finally had to close “temporarily”. We were excited last night to dine again in the cozy, romantic basement of the Parisi Pizza, now renamed Parisi Sotto. The dining atmosphere was wonderful with murals of cities in Italy, comfortable tables and soft music. The staff was terrific. Anamaria and Gennaro were very attentive. The dinner was excellent. We began with a bottle of Valpolichella and the bread basket assortment. We then shared the Panzanella di Farro con Burrataas, as a combination appetizer and salad. The burrata was creamy and delicious, and the faro salad was fresh and tasty with the the oil and vinegar dressing. Then we shared the Grigliata Mista for 2, a classic grilled meat dish served with grilled sausages, pork ribs & sirloin steak, accompanied by potato croquettes and sautéed garlic & dandelion greens. They were all well seasoned and delicious. It was quite a bit of food and we brought some home to enjoy at home for lunch! It was a delightful evening and will return often.
My favorite hidden gem. Have been 3 times since they reopened and honestly would love to keep them to myself but they deserve the praise! Love the food, wine selection, staff, and ambiance ❤️
Absolutely delicious meal!!!! 10/10 recommend. Classic and authentic Italian with the kindest staff.
Stunning food, excellent wine list (mostly Italian, naturally) and - best of all - our server Kenny was truly exceptional. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, especially in Denver. As a lifelong food lover and former restaurant manager, these guys do it right. Authentic Tuscan fare with a modern twist has never been done better. A perfect place for our first anniversary. Thank you guys so much for your great work. 10 stars all the way!
Some of the best food in the Denver Metro Area. The service is superior. We went before the virus spread rapidly through the US at a time where Italy was the virus's main target. We shared a conversation with our server that I'll never forget about his family and how sad he is to see them trapped in lockdown. All of the staff is friendly and I really do wish them all the best. Many of them have family in Italy and essentially had to live through the worst of the virus twice. I'm extremely hopeful we can revisit the staff, enjoy the food, and support a well-deserving local business.
I am Italian with an extensive Italian family that loves to cook, and I have been to Florence and throughout Italy. I have also lived on the east and west coasts of the US. This is literally the only restaurant I have been to in all of America that even comes close to replicating an authentic Italian meal. Don't get me wrong, you are going to pay for it, as in a 3 figure check for a small meal for two (with a bottle of wine). But we keep going back for special occasions because the service, ambience and food are worth it every time. Must try.
Went here for Denver Restaurant Week and wow! Everything was amazing. Everything tasted and looked absolutely amazing. The service was hard to beat. Our server was extremely attentive and made sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves throughout the entire meal. Definitely look forward to going again!
What a hidden jewel! Loved creeping past another restaurant into the basement to find Firenze. Ambience was so unique, I felt like I was back in Florence. The food was outstanding. Large group but I can say that everyone ordered something different and no one took home anything. Lol. The charcuterie appetizer was beautiful. House wines were very good (had non wine drinkers with me) the supertuscan for a house was so nice with my meal. Last word, chocolate mousse. Bravo!
The downstairs, but upscale restaurant under Parisi offers serious regional Italian dishes in a more romantic setting. Excellent food and wine, as well as service. Some Wednesday nights they host a community table, which is multiple courses, served family style, so you'll be sitting with whoever else shows up (generally this is good). Check their website for events, to find the next community night.
I came here for Denver Restaurant Week. While some restaurant week menus take liberty with their dishes and portions, Firenze a Tavola did not. Everything was as you would expect any other night. I began with the Insalata Panzanella which our waiter thoroughly described the historical origins of. I then had the Tagliatelle ai Porcini which was cooked to perfection. Lastly, when my date and I both requested the Torta Di Mele, our waiter informed us they only had 1 left. To make up for this, he generously brought each of their house-made desserts for us to try. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I hope to be back soon.
Incredible evening spent with my husband at a holiday party for his work. All the dishes were brought out in a timely manner and the presentation was amazing. The server was knowledgeable as well so that also help when I asked about their vegetarian options.
Been here a few times, and it has always been fantastic food and awesome service. Growing up in an Italian family, I have always been very picky on Italian food. These guys never disappoint, and I recommend it to many people. Thanks Firenze!
Amazing food and a great atmosphere. Took me back to Tuscany. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Great neighborhood trattoria in a cozy underground, warm, rock walled setting with innovative food and first rate service.
We had an anniversary last week and decided to try out Firenza a Tavola downstairs from Parisi at 44th and Tennyson in Denver. (Berkeley area Wow were we surprised! Our food was great. We once took a 30 day trip through Italy and we called that trip, "Eating our way through Italy!" SO! it is a nice compliment to the restaurant. In fact our waiter was from Lake Como area. He suggested a wine I loved and I know without a doubt you will be quite happy and return many times.I had grilled squid antipasti and a type of ceaser salad with a scallop tagiletti main dish. They had a nice menu for everyone to find something to enjoy.
Just picked up cioppino and Caesar salad to go. Both were delicious plus was given extra bread and sauce. The whole meal was outstanding I highly recommend you try it. Thank you everybody at the restaurant.
My wife and I invited 6 of our friends to meet for dinner. The service and food are fabulous! I would certainly go back and recommend Firenze to all my friends. M. Banks
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Firenze a Tavola. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and I really liked the atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back soon.
This is a really special Italian restaurant. It is located down stairs from the usually crowded pizzaria and requires a reservation. The brick and stone interior remind of restaurants in Italy. The menu has a variety of well prepared offerings. There are a few reasonably priced bottles of wine in the wine list but some are very expensive. Service was overall good but it did take some time to get our bill. We ordered the seafood ravioli, the eggplant lasagna, the beef with tagliatelle and the strip steak. For an appetizer the 4 of us shared a charcuterie board for 2. It was plenty.
Amazing food! We had the peach salad as an appetizer and then the lobster pasta. Both were amazing! And the ambience was also excellent. Will definitely be returning soon. The food upstairs is outstanding, but this was even a cut above that.
My husband ordered Pappardelle Al Cinghiale and I ordered Persico Limine e Capperi from their summer menu with a bottle of wine. Complimentary focaccia bread baked with a hint of tomato gave this amazing bread flavor on its own to the next level of sweet/ tang. From the service, setting (comfortable seating no hard chairs), great quiet place to have an amazing meal full of flavor and style as depicted on the menu when ordering. We are so thankful to have a fine dining option in our neighborhood. Thank you Parisi Sotto and Staff! Great spot for a date night!
Loved the space! The service was excellent and the food was really great. The lobster pasta special and the steak with porcini sauce were so good!Very approachable price point for the food. We were well taken care of. At one point the air kicked on and was blowing on me and our server noticed and took care of it right away without me saying a word. My fiancé also accidentally booked us on a different night, and the hostess checked on tables and squeezed us in for our date night. I can’t wait to go back!
Delightful experience. The atmosphere and ambiance they create is wonderful and the service was great. The food was also great and felt like a home cooked meal right in Italy.
What an incredible evening we had tonight. The food was amazing and Geno (spelling?) gave us some of the best service we have ever had. Great date spot. Great anything spot. You won't regret it. Remember this part of the restaurant is inside, and down the stairs.
I can't say enough good things about Parisi. It's one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Denver -- the tagliatelle ragu is 🔥 and so is their pizza, table bread, and pretty much everything else too. Much of the staff speaks Italian, so idk if that means anything, but I kinda feel like I'm in Italy for 30min while I'm there lol. Grazie mille!
What a gift this place is! A beautiful quiet sanctuary apart from the constant toddlerfest at every restaurant on Tennyson. But more importantly, the food. The. Food. That’s all.
Heads up that there are two restaurants in the one building. The PARISI pizzeria is the top level and the PARISI Soto is down stairs. So you have to take the stairwell inside by the front door to get to PARISI Soto. The menu online seems to be outdated because the menu there had different dishes. My chicken/cauliflower was super good and my brothers seafood pasta was amazing. My mom's beef steak slices were......pretty not good but 2 out 3 isn't bad! A little expensive but worth it. We had 4 drinks, an appetizer, and 3 entrees for $220 P.s. parking sucks so show up early since it is reservation only.
Fantastic handmade gnocchi and ravioli. Best we’ve had in Denver thus far. Location on Tennyson is nice. Style of service doesn’t do justice to the quality of the food but I get that it’s their thing. I’d like to see them open up another location suited for a fancier date night with more romance. Will definitely try again and consider upgrading to 5 star. Pasta is that good.
Appetizers were great. The main pasta dishes were just OK. The dark basement is a great intimate setting. The service was very good. Don't let the long lines for the upstairs casual dining room scare you away. Downstairs is a great experience.
Its good. Its right on the west side of Tennyson. Parking can be tough and their small parking lot is tight. My son really likes the pizza. They also have a lite ice-cream setup with a few different flavors. The place has been there a while, well before Tennyson became hip and cool. I believe its still family owned. All in all, we will be back.
The atmosphere is amazing. Quiet, peaceful, well appointed. Good lighting and comfortable. The wine list was great, pasta and deserts fabulous. I was disappointed in the calamari and perisco but the crème brûlée made up for it.
This restaurant is overall great- it’s an intimate setting, good service, and they serve delicious pastas. We were able to get a reservation for their special menu offered on Christmas Eve and are so thankful we did! Overall, it was a memorable experience and an excellent way to spend a special holiday. Only two points of critique - we were highly disappointed that no Italian red wines are offered by the glass? My husband and I enjoy nice wines, especially from Italy, but have never been big drinkers and don’t want to waste half a bottle. We ended up going the cocktail route and they were good, but I would have loved a Super Tuscan or anything Italian with my meal- so strange when I can get it right upstairs? Second strange thing of the night, all of our dishes were so delicious and made perfectly- except for the steak and porcini dish. The steak had wonderful flavor, but was literally the MOST tough piece of meat I’ve ever had in my life. It was like a piece of severely overcooked roast, and we asked for medium-rare. The steak knife that was provided could barely get through the middle slices, and we didn’t even attempt to eat the end slices because literally my jaw was so tired. Overall, I wouldn’t let those two things deter me from eating here again, just stick to their pasta specialties and see if they have a cork fee to bring your own Italian wine if you’re wanting that!
Okay, here's the deal with this place. It feels like authentic family dining - from when I was a kid. The food here is okay - but far from where Denver dining is now in 2019. It's been a while since I had to return a dish but the stuffed zucchini flowers were a complete tasteless fail. The beet salad was uninspired and the pasta dishes were heavy and one note. Staff was very efficient and friendly but that's not why you go to a restaurant.
My partner and I absolutely adore Parisi upstairs and were unfortunately disappointed by Parisi Sotto. To be honest the vegetarian options were pretty uninspiring. The wine was delicious and the service was great, however! Overall, I’d recommend eating upstairs at Parisi instead (at least for vegetarians).
First, the good. They have a parking lot, which is really convenient considering the location. They also have a nice ambiance. The fact that it's in the basement makes it feel cozy and intimate. They also have a reasonably extensive wine list if you're looking to buy a bottle. Now the bad. Their wine by the glass list leaves a lot to be desired, especially for an Italian restaurant (only 3 reds, all American). The app we ordered was the weirdest app I've ever had. It was a fruit and vegetable mix that seemed like they had taken a supermarket crudite tray, dumped the fruits and raw vegetables together, tossed them in olive oil, and put a couple prawns on top. Not good, at all. Our primi and secundi courses were ok, although I thought the huge chunks of carrot and celery in the red sauce were weird and the sea bass on par with something an average home cook could make. Their short dessert menu was so unappealing that we didn't even order dessert which, as a huge sweet tooth, is a rarity for me. Also, there was no digestif list which, as an Italian restaurant at that price point, was a little disappointing. Overall, I was not impressed with this restaurant and don't plan to go back.
Extremely slow service. Ordered pasta A 6oz lobster with melted butter on the side, didn’t get the melted butter until after i was finished with everything. The waiter apologized and followed it up with “but the lobster should have been good on its own anyway”. I did not appreciate that. If I’m coming in and spending the amount of money i am, i don’t appreciate being told HOW i should enjoy my expensive meal. Wine was really good but food and cocktails were just mediocre. Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Coming from a foodie and a chef at home, who expects quality always, especially when paying a high price tag... The $15 salads were portioned very small, all of the food was very bland, with the only exception of the Tagliolini allo scoglio with shrimp. And the bill was very high. I did not leave satisfied with the price we paid, considering the lack of flavor and tiny salad portions. I mean, I shouldn't feel like I have to save most of my dinner to bring home and doctor it up before being able to stand finishing it right?
This is technically two different restaurants. upstairs is quick service with more simple and cheaper menu options, downstairs is formal dining with more elaborate and expensive options. Their website and Google doesn’t do a good job of altering the customer that this is how it is. As such, we made a reservation thinking we were upstairs with the cheaper menu. We called a few moments after making the reservation and attempted to cancel it, only to be told that there were no exceptions allowed and it would be $15 PER PERSON to cancel!!! This seems like a quick money making scheme. Confuse the customer and then be pretentious enough to not allow a cancellation. Terrible policy. We won’t be back.
Very disappointed in the service at parisi's when it comes to the personalities with the service management. I try to get attention to the bartender who's bald he was rude and wouldn't answer me because he was having a bad day according to the manager owner Christy. All I was requesting was some salt around my margarita glass and he added too muc salt. i he was just rude and arrogant. A waitress at parisi's ask me to leave because I was upset with the bald guy who was the bartender. He came out around the counter and also asked me to leave. when I tried to convey my service to Christy about the service at parisi's all she wanted to do is argue and take the side of the bartender. I will never return to this establishment again.
I left a 1-star review on their other restaurant that's directly above this restaurant, but whatever, my point stands: these people are rude and you shouldn't give them your business. Don't come here if you have an allergy. But don't you dare tell anyone else with an allergy not to come here! You're supposed to go to their website and read their disclaimer and sign a waiver or something if you even come anywhere near this restaurant. And if you don't do all that, you're gonna get an angry response to your honest review from some room-temp IQ small business tyrant. Spare me. Again, do not give these people your money. --- To the owners of Parisi: Respond to this by saying "I'm sorry, I'm a little baby and it was past my bedtime and I was cranky and hungry :(" and I'll change this to 4 stars.
Toilet paper rolls on the floor.. gross.. line to order at the counter? Fast food Italian? Weird.
It's like a sort of pseudo-Italian McDonald's. I doubt anyone there has ever actually stepped a foot in Italy.
Editing to add: As I stated, I purposely did not give a bad rating originally. The owner's tantrum of a response to me (and now I have seen to countless others both on this restaurant and the upstairs restaurant) will result in my 4 star rating being dropped to a 1 star rating. I personally have a tree nut allergy, not a gluten allergy; and as I stated, the allergen policy is not on the online menu...which is where most people look when examining food options for themselves. Additionally, if the policy is to have people speak to the manager to discuss options, waitstaff could be better informed of this. The waitress I spoke with was very kind and apologetic but did not direct me to a manager. But I get that working in service can be very hectic. I'm sorry the owner felt the original review was a "buzzkill" when it was meant as a heads up to others with food allergies (which should honestly be appreciated since your bad experience has created this viewpoint and reaction towards allergies). This review still serves the purpose of giving a more apparent heads up to those in similar situations to myself. Nearly every other Italian restaurant in Denver will be able to accommodate your tree nut, shellfish, etc allergy. I don't know anyone with a food allergy that expects to be able to eat at any restaurant they want (as this owner seems to assume). Put the policy on the online menu and people will avoid going somewhere that is not safe for them. But frankly, incredibly gross response that is now very public. And based on all of the owner responses (which never seem to be to positive reviews and only ever include tantrums like you will find below), I can't say I'm disappointed that my allergy prevented me from supporting this particular neighborhood restaurant. Please seek therapy. Original review: I'm giving a rating that is near the current average for this restaurant because I did not actually eat here. However, I left feeling incredibly frustrated when I made a reservation and sat down at the table to look at the menu. This review is regarding food allergies and the way this restaurant handles them. Their online menu and reservation system do not show this, but when you are in person, their menu has a big disclaimer saying that anyone with a severe food allergy to allergens in their kitchen should not dine with them. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing to see food allergies handled this way when so many restaurants of their size have found ways to reduce the risk of cross contamination for allergens when informed of them.
