We stopped in this past weekend and it was excellent. The Fried Half Chicken and Original Fried Chicken Sandwich were both juicy and had a fantastic crunch. The Cheddar Biscuit and mashed potatoes were great sides, and the El Corn and Cowboy Pils paired perfectly. Joel gave us top-notch service at the bar. A very solid neighborhood spot!
Great for a celiac like me! Best fried chicken and wings ever. Also plan to go at happy hour. They have great deals. Oh and the cocktails are sooooo good! I had to try this location since I fell in love with the location at the Stanley hotel in Estes Park. I'm so glad this location is closer. Also they have great gluten-free beer options. Definitely awesome. Check this place out.
Another rare 5 star review from me!!! Might be a demotion in the works because THIS fried chicken is everything the Colonel wish his was!!! Idk how many herbs and spicy they folks at the post use but I don’t care because it is hands down the best homemade style fried chicken in the metro. The vibe is unique but not it a weird way. The bathrooms were very clean as my review followers know is huge for me at any eatery. No real apparent reason to the decor other than someone said let’s put this up and someone agreed… many times. But again not in a bad way at all. The sides were also had a homemade and fresh feel. For sure not ordered from a big chain distributor. They sell the hot sauce so make sure to buy a bottle for home! Good beer selection with fair pricing. The meal was a little costly but the excellent service and quality of food made up for that for sure. I will be back and with more folks next time. Thanks for the experience.
Fun afternoon lunch date!! Deviled eggs are to die for!! We got the family love for the two of us and had dinner again tonight! The potatoes and gravy and greens are a must! I had the Mexican beer and my BF had a hazy IPA. Both excellent! Our server , Connor was attentive and nicely bagged my leftovers for me!! Best chicken!!
We had the chicken and waffles and a breakfast sandwich off the brunch menu - both were amazing! The donuts they brought out to start were delicious. Definitely recommend!!
Some great friend chicken and pretty good craft beer. The chicken was moist with a light but crunchy and lightly spiced breading. The home-style side dishes were all thoroughly enjoyed by our group including mashed potatoes with gravy, collard greens, and biscuits. The restaurant was busy but service was quick and all staff were friendly, polite, and helpful with all questions. Sep 2022
Exceptional food and very friendly service. I highly recommend the oysters on the appetizers menu if you're dining in as they were fantastic; my picture doesn't do it justice. Also the chicken sandwich was great and I never thought I would say this but the Dijon mayonnaise sauce on the sandwich is very good. I like how they give the option with all of their chicken dishes to either get the chicken plain or have it tossed in sauce/seasonings. Also their macaroni is the best ive had from the local chicken places. The beers they had on tap were also great. I look forward to come back and try one of their pieces of pie for dessert. This place is definitely worth a try.
Looking for a fun spot to enjoy hot, crispy chicken & a nice, cold beer? The Post Chicken & Beer is the place you're looking for. We arrived and were seating in the main dining room. The Post's aesthetic was playful and laid back. Our service from Josh, GM Brooklyn, and Chef Mercedes was top notch. They were welcoming and added to the positive atmosphere of the restaurant. The Post's all natural Chicken Tenders were breaded, fried, & served with Post ranch, hot honey chili crunch, lettuce cups, carrot & daikon radish slaw, & French fries. These chicken tenders were massive and came to the table piping hot. The chicken was so juicy and we had the option to toss them or dip them in The Post's numerous sauces. The sauces included Nashville Hot, Spicy Gochujang, Hot Honey Chili, Black Pepper BBQ, the Post Dry Rub, & Buffalo. The Spicy Gochujang sauce was my absolute favorite. It had some noticeable heat from the red pepper flakes and packed a flavorful kick. We paired our Chicken Tenders with The Post Brewing Company’s new seasonal beer release, Sunny Lady. This Arnold Palmer-inspired Ale is brewed with Pekoe Sip House Sunny Green Tea, lemon puree, and local CO wildflower honey, giving it a strong tea taste while finishing tart & refreshing. The Post Brewing Company has an ongoing program where they offer seasonal rotating beer selections. In addition to hot chicken & beer, we also tried the CBLT sandwich with Nashville Hot Chicken and the Chicken & Waffles. The Post reimagined these classic comfort foods for modern tastes.
I came in on a recommendation from a co-worker, claiming they serve the best fried chicken he's ever had, and when I pulled up to the parking lot, the smell of fried chicken was simply amazing. Well, I came in with the intention of ordering the chicken, but when presented with the menu, I knew I'd be having something else. I'm a very big fan of shrimp and grits, and when I saw it on the menu, I knew I'd be ordering this. Let me say that this dish does not disappoint. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, sitting on a bed of exceptionally flavored grits, garnished with red and green peppers, surrounded by a delicious scampi inspired sauce. Wow!! So good!! I think I'll try the chicken on my next visit, and there will be a next visit, guaranteed.
We’ve been coming here for years. Really exceptional food. Glad that they have finally added some other sauces, including buffalo, to elevate their amazing fried chicken even more. Phenomenally good. The green chile mac and cheese, and the cheddar biscuits, are always great too.
Anytime I think of Chicken and Waffles now - I'm going to think of this place. Cooked and seasoned to perfection on every dish. Appetizer? Get the wings (hot chile honey was finger licking good Entree? Chicken and Waffles as mentioned OR their cheeseburger Dessert? Their Ice cream sundaes are giant and so so good Drink? Their poisoned apple brandy cocktall is to die for (not literally)
Best fried chicken in Colorado. And as an added bonus, your gluten-free loved ones can enjoy most of the menu safely. The chicken is nicely brined and breaded with an abundance of flavor. Sides and drinks are fun too. I particularly like the Rosedale location for convenience and atmosphere
This wasn't our first time but brought the kids so they could experience the fried chicken. Again the Post never disappoints. They each got the kids chicken tenders with Mac n cheese, which both were great. Wife and I had the roasted chicken and the chicken ranch BLT. Both excellent and juicey (that little tomatoe jam is really good). I have had their fried chicken dinner which is also so scrumptious. Def will be back!
This place combines my two favorite things: chicken and beer! The is one of the coziest restaurants on Boardway. Highly recommend for great tasting selection of beer and fried chicken. It felt like a thanksgiving dinner, especially with the decorations and wood aesthetic. Will definitely come back again!
I love going out to restaurants and having great servers! Jenna was awesome! Helpful and made us feel comfortable about having a Gluten-free meal due to my wife having Celiac. My first time coming to the Post from Chicago and this was a great experience!
This place is a refreshing visit in a city so devoid of Nashville Hot Style Chicken. The meat was cooked to PERFECTION in both meals. Service was attentive to our needs but by no means overbearing. Beer was surprisingly good, they dont call it award winning for no reason. Portions were perfect size; I was so full I asked for a small box to take the crispy fries and remaining few bites of sandwich home in. I especially liked the nashville hot chicken itself as well as the Chili Cherry Jam that came on the chicken and waffles. The way the Nashville Hot Chicken comes by default has a very nice spice to it, but if you're a fan of "true" spice I'd recommend ordering extra hot. I'll be back soon!!!!!
Good food and happy hour specials are very reasonable. Get the chicken biscuit. Second time visiting possibly best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. The collard greens are in a red sauce and weren’t my favorite. The chicken corn chowder is phenomenal.
My only regret is that we didn't know sooner. Unbelievable, perfect, absolutely delicious everything. The chicken literally brought back childhood memories of chicken after church. The green chili macaroni and cheese was shared by all and there was none left. The biscuits are served with butter and you better make sure everybody gets their own because sharing can go really bad really quick. This is truly a gem, a diamond in the rough, that little spot on Broadway that you probably driven past a thousand times. I had the four piece split 50/50 between normal and Tennessee flavored. The spice on that Tennessee flavored is undescribable, just stupid good oozing with flavor. The original has so much flavor in it I didn't think the Tennessee was going to be able to compete with it, until I did and it did. The chicken is served with a little bowl of brown gravy? Save that for the chicken breast. Not that it needs it because that white meat is almost as tender as the dark meat and you know I would be lying if I said it was the same. If somebody at the table got french fries and you didn't, borrow one and give it a gravy bath... so good. Everybody enjoyed everything, it's very affordable. My family of six walked out of there holding our bellies for $148 and that was with one dessert everybody had tea or Sprite or some beverage and an alcoholic beverage was consumed as well. Wait for it, did I mention it all the chicken is gluten free? That's right, the chicken's fingers the chicken breast the chicken thigh the chicken wing every single piece gluten-free. My daughter was clinically diagnosed with celiacs when she was four. I've done my best to make good gluten-free chicken and I've gotten Good at it. I'm never making fried chicken again I'm going there every time. I honestly can't believe there wasn't a line going down Broadway. If you like fried chicken you absolutely have to go here. If you like fried chicken and you eat a gluten-free diet you're welcome. This was my first visit here, but my daughter who has no choice but to eat gluten-free made this her third trip down Broadway. A lot of places say that their food is gluten free. if my daughter eats there she will tell you whether it's gluten-free or not in about 30 minutes. This establishment does a very good job to prevent cross-contamination, she has not gotten sick. Everybody who works there is extremely helpful extremely friendly and my entire family was in and out at dinner time within an hour. Our waitress Jenna was very patient helpful and courteous. The place was clean the artwork, the decor eclectic all fun to look at. I wish I could do six stars but then again I'm just a normal guy giving you my opinion. My family loved it and we will be going back. Lastly, as featured in the television show "diners drive-thrus and dives' featured this wonderful place as top 10 best fried chicken in the United States.
First time ordering and having this food. I did it by door dash. Food was still fresh and hot. Now let me tell you them greens idk who cooked them but I really did wanna slap my momma (I hope she don’t see this, love you ma) and that Mac and cheese was bomb & creamy. The chicken oh my word that big breast was just as juicy as can be. I’m coming in next time cause I need to personally thank yall for making such damn good food! :)
Lauren was amazing! She came by so soon after we were seated, got our order in quickly and was able to accommodate my request from Craftapped well (lovers of the BOGO beer subscription will find a great opportunity to eat restaurant quality food and get great beer choices). Food was to die for, we started with the biscuits which rival DBC and some southern restaurants I’ve tried for softness and melt in your mouth quality. Come with a great dipping jam too. The cole slaw salad was solid and OMG the chicken tenders were super fresh tasting, I didn’t feel disgusting eating them, and they were nice and filling! Sat in a great outdoor covered patio! Coming back here for sure esp in warm weather.
The Post Broadway never disappoints. They were slamming for memorial weekend Monday lunch service- so we took the heated patio on kind of a gloomy afternoon and it was perfect. $5 beers, great entrees, polite service. When you wake up craving chicken and waffles- there is only one answer to that call. The Post. +collard greens +cheese biscuits +Mac n cheese =magic
Great experience and great food. Super friendly staff. Ilene, along with a gentleman (beard and glasses) served us and both were nice to talk to and offered us good suggestions on the menu. Although the staff doesn’t flaunt them, their smoked buffalo wings are delicious. I had “El Corn” beer which was really good too. We’ll be coming back to try their other chicken options.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Wonderful meal at The Post tonight. It's chicken, and GOOD chicken. My chicken and waffles was the best I've had in forever. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles worthy if not better. A Pumpkin seed butter, chorizo country gravy, chile-cherry chutney, maple syrup. The Bison meatloaf was incredible. Not gamey, not over done. Rocky mountain bison, townie ale, tomatillo glaze, mashed potatoes, brown gravy. The Sweat Pants salad, yep Sweat Pants! Crispy thigh fries, knife and fork romaine, bacon, biscuit croutons, chopped pickle, cheddar, egg, hot cherry peppers, ranch dressing! And the best fried chicken I've ever had from a restaurant. The juiciest most perfect bird! We will be back. The manager stopped by to apologize for our food taking to long and we hadn't even noticed. It was busy, everyone seemed happy and having a good time. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. We will be back!
Casey needs a raise and a pat on the back ASAP. Food is delicious and celiac safe. Atmosphere is electric and fun 10/10 would dine again
The bar tender Joel is the absolute BEST! His service, hospitality, and personality makes you feel welcomed and well taken care of! The wait staff - Casey, Shay and Makenna - are 10/10! The AM John has that place in tip top shape! Run don’t walk!
We were in town for a hockey tournament over Thanksgiving weekend and were looking for a lunch spot that accepted reservations. We found The Post on OpenTable. Our server was Merritt (sp?) and she was great. Our drinks and food came out quickly. The food was delicious and finding somewhere that serves fried chicken that is gluten free feels like finding a unicorn. Everything was top-notch.
I went today with my husband for the first time. I have a rare genetic disorder that makes it very difficult to go and try restaurants that I’ve never been to before. I did preview their menu before we went so I could see if there were items I could eat. There were. I did have some questions about the menu and the server. Holden was very knowledgeable, very kind and patient with me as he answered my questions. I truly appreciate that he was knowledgeable of the menu, able to accommodate my dietary needs, and was just a very nice server. I definitely will be back to this location, even though it is not close to my home. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant was clean. I want to thank the staff, the cooks and Holden the server for being kind and making sure that my food was something that I could eat without getting sick from. I believe that they went above and beyond and I was able to truly enjoy my lunch with my husband and eat something that would not make me sick. Thank you for an enjoyable meal and lunch date I appreciate you!
I had a great experience dining at this restaurant, my food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely bring friends back to try some other items on the menu, since I had a hard time deciding what to have to begin with. I would definitely recommend it!!
Really fun, rustic, family feel restuarant! Old school charm. The food was absolutely fantastic, the chicken and biscuits are incredible and beer selection was good! Service was attentive and very energenic! We will definitely be back!
The food is great and the chicken strips are big. The biscuits are big. Expensive (for my budget) but food portions are big. Some meals can become two meals or share. I will be back to try other foods.
First visit and it did not disappoint! Had the Deviled egg starter that was fantastic. The bacon on top was just the right touch. The Chicken Mole' special was very, very good with the mole' being just the right amount of sweet and savory...would definitely order again! Service was 5 stars and very attentive. Portion sizes are more than generous! You won't leave hungry!
Favorite chicken in town! This place is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and lively. Cristina, the manager, clearly takes pride in what she does, and it shows in every detail. The service runs smoothly, the staff is friendly and attentive, and there’s a genuine sense that customers are valued. It’s rare to find a place that nails both amazing food and exceptional hospitality, but Post Chicken & Beer does exactly that. Highly recommend.
The quinoa and kale salad with thigh fries added was a person balance on health and wellness. My server Kingston suggested adding goat cheese and it was the best! I tried the February cocktail “Jim and Pam” it was so delicious i almost had a third Great food, service and vibes . The team was having fun and you could tell
Wonderful staff, always taken good care of. Tuesday tacos are bomb. Chicken and waffles are amazing with the pineapple flavor in the syrup. We come here for HH often. Support local restaurants! Their beer is amazing too. Shout out Brooklyn for always being a homie!!
Dined in on a Thursday evening. Was seated inside immediately. We ordered Fried Half Chicken and the Chicken & Waffles. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly and was juicy as well. Would definitely recommend it over chicken and waffles. Overall a solid 4/5
It is like a very hip dive bar inside. Chicken was great. Family loved the wings. Only complaint was the NA mocktail I ordered wasn't the best, would go back for the food though, it was to notch fried chicken!!
I really like this place visit several times a year . Good to decent beer. I usually have the permanent breeze beer (good solid choice). Fried chicken is good Love the green chilli Mac. Don’t get the ribs though on Saturday though. They were burnt. I brought it up but server said that’s how they are served. We were so hungry we ate some of it anyway. Service good but that always depends on the person right ?
Good solid chicken. Can't go wrong here if you are craving chicken it is delicious but not the greatest I have tasted in Colorado. The atmosphere and service was great as well. The Mac and cheese were okay but the star of the dish is the chicken
Glad we finally tried The Post! The beer was cold and delicious...the chicken and waffles left me wanting more! I actually think the chicken-to-waffle ratio was a tad off. Perhaps I just had a small piece of chicken, but I feel a second piece would have been perfect. The pre-brunch doughnut holes were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside...and flavorful! My better half enjoyed her breakfast burrito, commenting on the excellent seasoning of the filling. The green chili mac-n-cheese was delish too! Our server (Phillip) was attentive and made unbiased menu recommendations. The seating space was perfect..we didn’t feel overcrowded. We look forward to our next visit!
I dined here for lunch last week with a friend. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese! Loved the meal! The fried chicken was large and crispy with a few amazing pickles (should have asked for more) and the mac and cheese was awesome. Service was prompt and somewhat friendly. Dined around 1pm so there was not a wait or too many people in. Really enjoyed the experience!
The greens was the best thing...chicken over rated..went there cause it was top 10 places for the fried chicken..no flavor very bland. For me..it's a one time thing for me
As someone with Celiac Disease, I was beyond excited to find this place. Devoured the gf donut holes and had the Susan Sarandon (love me some goat cheese)! The only downside of our experience was that our server disappeared and our beverages went without refills.
Husband and I left this place feeling very underwhelmed. We have been to Nashville and dined on their wonderful "Nashville Hot" chicken many times. This was not it. It wasn't even hot. Could have fed it to a baby, the heat was pathetic. The chicken was crispy and fairly tasty. The Mac and cheese could have been better but was fairly cheesy and flavorful. Much of the menu looks like an imitation of a Nashville restaurant, including the sides but more expensive. And the beer, so, so, so very boring. It was incredibly loud in this place. I couldn't hear my husband and had to raise my voice for him to hear me. If you've never been to Nashville and had real hot chicken, you'll probably love this place. They do have good southern style food but for us it just didn't meet the mark at all. Also, they do have bottomless mimosas on the weekends.
When I come back and try the regular fried chicken instead of the Nashville I will edit this. First and foremost it is kinda spendy. Almost everything is ala carte. The chicken had good flavor. Again I would like to try the regular fried. The mac and cheese absolutely needed salt. This surprise because cheese itself is salty. The french fries were great. The biscuits were good until I got the rosemary pieces. Great honey butter.
I hesitate to post this review, as my experience was with a large pickup order, not in-restaurant. But I think it's important for those picking up to know. I purchased the Throwdown ($146.75 before tax and tip!), and 4 large sides came with it. I had 7 people to feed, and ordered two large mashed potatoes with gravy. First off, each side was only a pint, not really alot of potatoes to go with 16 pieces of chicken. The menu doesn't indicate the size. Maybe I should have called. But the large potatoes if purchased separately was $13.50. Is that not a huge amount for a pint? The biggest disappointment about the potatoes, though, was that the gravy WASN'T separate. It was just kind of sliding down the outside edge of the potatoes in the container, with a small amt on top. Now maybe I'm weird because I like to ladle gravy over my mashed (and actually also on my chicken breast, which btw, while huge, was also dry), but I think the gravy should be in a separate container (and should be at least a pint with each mashed). Am I wrong, people? I will say that most of my group thought the chicken was good (the dark meat was definitely moist). We were hoping The Post would finally be our go-to replacement for White Fence Farm that closed down some years ago in Lakewood. Unfortunately, we'll still be looking.
First time here The chicken was good, the seasoning to the chicken tasted like dirt, if that makes sense. The pickles, coleslaw, and Mac n cheese were great. The biscuits tasted so good. Only issues is I was not explained anything about beers, so I ordered one thinking it’s draft. I got a canned beer! I ordered a mixed drink and assumed by the price I’d get a full glass, but my drink was tiny. Idk i just wish staff would guide customers better on alcoholic Beverages or menu options.
I was so sad about the food! I thought walking in it must be excellent because it was busy. So busy, in fact, that the greeter asked me if we had a reservation for our party of 2. We did not, so we settled for two spots at the bar. Friends, let me tell you that when you visit a chicken place and the best thing that you eat all night is their biscuits, Houston we have a problem. The chicken was served hot but just fundamentally lacked the crunch of friend chicken that I look for. Now the chicken is GF so for my celiac friends you may love this so much but for me, just a bit or two in I knew it was not for me. The other honorable mentions for meh were the odd Mac n cheese, which held the distinct flavor or powdered cheese. It was strange. And the top strange thing was the waffle of the chicken and waffle. There was sausage and bleu cheese on this waffle. I struggled to comprehend what was served vs my expectation from the menu (rosemary?). It was not good. The worse was yet to come and that was the check. For 2 adults, drinking no booze, including 1 app (biscuits) and 1 dessert (whoopie pie) this came to an astonishing $75. I was sad because we would have enjoyed Popeyes 100x more. Sorry everyone.
Served raw chicken after they first tried to serve my celiac disease daughter chicken with a wheat biscuit. DONT EAT HERE
Hostesses were very accommodating. Food was not good, my chicken sandwich was so dry, the grits were so bland, my daughters Mac and cheese was mush. I ate a few bites of my stuff and waited for the server to come check on us, never did until he was ready to get our check. By then every one was ready to leave so I asked for a box, he brought a tiny one for almost a whole meal to fit in. I needed a second one for my sons waffle and fries to which he said, I'm sure you can fit it in. Nope. So disappointed. I have been here before and not even close to what I remembered in the past. Overpriced and not good. You do not get what you pay for, maybe portion wise but not quality wise. Will not be back
The food was the only somewhat redeeming quality of the last two visits there. And even then, the food was served cold. The service was poor at best, and we waited for at least 10 minutes the last two times to be acknowledged by anyone just to be seated. I don’t ever leave poor reviews, but this was exceptionally bad. Bartender was horrible, slow service, meh food. Won’t be back.
