This was an amazing experience. Each person orders two to three small plates and then everyone gets a portion of each plate. The plates don’t come out at once so you have time to really enjoy each one. Drinks were delicious. Atmosphere was nice but we sat under the covered patio and it was a bit chilly. We would definitely come back again.
This is a winner of a tapas place we stumbled across, but so glad we did. Although parking sucks because it's street only parking, this is a gem of a place. Starting with some great mocktails, they were refreshing with unique fruit syrups and fresh herbs. The bao buns were delicious with a delicious crispy shrimp, although I wish there were more shrimp for the amount of bun. The mildly spicy sauce and crispy carrot shavings were a great compliment. I wish they'd try a pickled cucumber to this dish! The fried green tomatoes would have been great if it were not for the big hunk of tuna that was sandwiched inside the tomato. It just didn't work, which is a shame because the tomatoes were fried perfectly and topped with a delicious cream sauce. The churros bites were not churros at all, more like donut holes, but they were good and the mango icecream with it was delicious. The star of the whole night was the Mexican bread pudding! The was some seriously awesome stuff! It was a perfectly chewy bread pudding with a lovely caramel sauce, and I've had some of the best bread puddings ever from New Orleans. I know they change the menu constantly, but I hope they keep this one!
They have some great tapas with asian and central american influences. We got four appetizers and two mains for four people which was plenty of food. Each dish is pretty small. The mains would have been the perfect size for one if we didn’t get small plates. The small plates came out within 10 mins but the larger plates took about 30.
Little Bull was an absolute treat and an amazing food experience. It was only highlighted by our kind and thoughtful server, Kamol who had great recommendations, amazing energy and fantastic service the entire dinner!!! The Ay Papa and Pastor Bro-Chetta blew our minds. Can’t wait to come back and visit Kamol!!
Little Bull was fantastic. The food was creative, delicious, and unlike anything else around. Our server was excellent, super friendly and really knew the menu. Drinks were great too, and the wine selection was spot-on. Overall, an awesome experience and definitely a place I’d come back to.
The food was absolutely incredible, what an experience!! My favorites were the NC Crudo and the Octopus and Butters Beans. I had the Amalia’s Tea (which comes out in a cute teacup) and the Fallen from Grace, which was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. We had Kamol as our server, and he was so diligent and knowledgeable - he brought us clean plates between our dishes, which I thought was a lovely touch.
Absolutely loved this place! Started off with Amelia’s tea which was a delicious cocktail served in a china teacup. As a group of 4, we shared 7 plates plus bread and it was plenty. The tuna crudo, papas, and cabbage were my favorites but truly every dish was delicious and packed with flavor. Splitting some of the plates 4 ways was a bit challenging but overall felt that the amount of food was adequate. The service was fantastic. Our server, Adam, was so knowledgeable about all the dishes and flavors and gave great recommendations. We finished our meal with the churros and the soursop ice cream was a unique and refreshing side. Overall we are extremely pleased by Little Bull and will be back for more!
My husband and I love restaurants with tapas, so we decided to check out Little Bull, and we weren’t disappointed. Everything we tried was delicious! The service and atmosphere are amazing, too. We will definitely come back again.
menu items ordered: biscuits + chorizo gravy french toast pineapple MASmosa good luck babe all the food/drinks were so tasty and flavorful!! no complaints about any of them. just wish the entree portions were bigger, so just keep that in mind
The food and drinks were absolutely delicious - fresh, flavorful, and clearly homemade with unique combinations that stood out. The service was warm and attentive; our server Komal in particular went above and beyond, making sure everything was perfect and accommodating food allergies with care. The atmosphere was just as impressive, with stunning vibes both indoors and on the outdoor patio. A wonderful all-around experience. We can’t wait to come back!
First time visiting Little Bull and way overdue! Made reservations for dinner and sat outside. The covered patio is lovely with heaters. We enjoyed the tasting menu which we found it to be a fair value. Look forward to coming back soon, cheers!
Absolutely delicious from start to finish! Every dish was crafted with fresh ingredients and full of exciting, vibrant flavors. The presentation was stunning — each plate looked like a work of art. You can really taste the care and creativity that goes into the food. The ambiance was just as impressive, with beautiful outdoor dining and superb nighttime lighting that created a cozy, inviting atmosphere — perfect for a relaxing evening. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name!) did an excellent job taking care of our table. She was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. I’m including a photo of her in the review to show appreciation for her great service. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a fresh, flavorful, and well-rounded dining experience.
Great food, the tongue and cheek barbacoa might be the best I've ever had! Salsas were super flavorful too. This was my first time trying octopus as well and it was great. They put some serious char on it (in a good way). The bread pudding was delicious but definitely too much for one person. Dining area is cute -- highly recommend coming here!
This place is amazing! I can't believe we didn't dine here sooner. The food was absolutely amazing down to the smallest detail. I was also pleased to find several non-alcoholic options both mocktails and NA beer available.
First, our server was very sweet and the restaurant was setup super cute. The small plates we got were: 1) bao buns - very mid; 2) gambas - best thing we had; 3) papas - good flavor but only got maybe 3-4 bites out of this entire dish; 4) arepas - needed more spice/flavor. The cocktails were also decent. Overall, the presentation was great but nothing about anything we had was genuinely memorable. The portions were absolutely tiny for the insane prices charged. Of all the great food in Durham, I don’t think I would put this one on the recommended list.
The food was seriously phenomenal, and highly recommend the tasting menu! We visited from out of town, and had a hard time finding parking. Due to this, we ran a few minutes late and they gave away our reserved table. Better signage on their private lot would have helped!
The food was decent and had good flavor. Only thing is the steak was a bit overcooked. The server didn’t ask how I wanted my steak so maybe they just make steaks well done as a standard. It had good flavor, I know that if it was cooked medium to rare, it would’ve been way better.
We tried the Arepa and the GAMBAS A LA PLANCHA as our main dish . I had a glass of Tempranillo and my wife had a Mojito. Both were good . We also had the bread pudding as recommended by a lot of folks. In my opinion it was too sweet and two much for two people .Ideally its good for 4 folks but if you are looking for a healthy option
My wife and I decided to finally check this place out. I’m glad that they have finally added some vegetarian options. The drinks were okay, but not worth the price. Overall the food was stunning and very tasty. However the birria dumplings were not good. The goat meat was very chewy and decided not to eat it. Better to skip that dish. Customer service was on point. Overall a great experience, but at the cost of a high price tag. I don’t think we will be back with those kinds of prices. We dropped over $130 for dinner.
I agree with some other reviewers that the food is well executed, well plated, locavore, and, overall, was a creative trip through the foods that the owners loved growing up. This result could be chaotic and lack cohesion, depending on how eclectic their interests were. However, I found the menu to hold together and accomplish the vision of the creators. My wife and I split the featured tasting menu and a few more items. We were blown away by the octopus dish and found the sauce served with the gambas to be delicious as well. The sushi hand roll and pastor dish were unremarkable but well done. After recently eating at a Michelin Green Starred restaurant in Asheville, where this restaurant could improve if it wants to obtain this status is course timing and service execution. Our server was nice enough but a bit awkward. He also asked if we wanted to keep our plates and silverware between courses, something a Michelin-starred restaurant would never think of doing. All of this admittedly sounds very hoity-toity of me to say, especially as someone who doesn’t frequent Michelin-starred or fine dining establishments. However, with the pricing and food execution of this restaurant, you can tell it aims for something more, and to achieve similar recognition. And, for Durham restaurants, it’s currently their best shot.
