We had to cancel a baby shower due to covid but rescheduled christening with Donna (she is great to work with). The christening was very covid safe the servers and staff were fantastic. We enjoyed the food and also the attention given by Kristen who made sure everything went as planned. Thank you again for a time to remember

I've been to Shandon Court many times. I always love returning there as the people - the owners, the staff and guests - always make me feel like I'm returning home. Even the feel from the décor makes me feel like I'm back in Ireland. The food is amazing as are the drinks - AND THE MUSIC! It's a good feeling to know that whenever I walk in the service, food, drinks and entertainment are top notch. There are also those special nights from time to time when - after a lovely meal with friends - sometimes certain musicians may be there and just blow you away with unplanned performances sitting right next to you at the bar. Truly something very hard to find anywhere else I've been. Highly recommend Shandon Court

We just had our baby shower there and I've got to say, this place is beautiful! The staff is friendly and the food was delicious, especially the pasta. We actually drove an hour to get there, and we'd do it again, as opposed to somewhere closer. Plan a party there, you won't regret it!

Perfect for a low key night. Great bar food but also higher caliber meals in the dining room, which is separated from the bar with a glass wall, so it's not too loud. The staff is really nice and friendly. Solid pick for a good meal or just hanging at the bar. They also have two nice rooms for catering.

Absolutely amazing food! If I could go everyday for the Strawberry Fields Salad I totally would. Aside from the food and the atmosphere being spot on for a pleasant evening the staff is always super nice and helpful. I have had Dinners, Drinks, and Catered Parties all here and have nothing but wonderful food and Service. The family that owns Shandon Court are always around making sure everything is running smoothly and are very friendly with all of their customers new and old. Went to Shandon Court for restaurant week on 10/9. Family had Calamari appetiser beef barley soup, Guinness braised short ribs with Carrots and Mashed, Salmon with forbidden rice, Shepherds pie and pumpkin cheesecake cake and apple strudel. All was prepared to perfection. It's a dark and seemingly old restaurant but the meals are delicious, staff is very friendly/ attentive and the Chef is outstanding. First time...visting friends playing in the bar/pub area. My first impression...very nice Place feels comfortable, homey and I love the atmosphere. Has a retractable glass wall separating bar area with restaurant room. Cleaver design. This is just the front...there is a side and rear area too...reserved for larger groups, special occasions, parties including the upstairs. Like I said...very nice! I and a guest ordered food while in the pub bar area. Medium size bar but plenty of tables. The food was served fast noting it was a Monday evening and it was delicious. Will definitely return...take into account that I live 25 minutes away and I don't normally like to travel far. This is a place to go... for food and drinks.

I love going there when I visit New York, and would move back JUST for this restaurant if I could! They try so very hard to make sure you have everything you need. And the music is amazing ! I absolutely love quiz night too! It's a shame there is only 5 stars because they deserve many more!!

This is an Irish Pub that I really enjoy going to. Nightly entertainment, bar food and Irish fare make it a favorite for me and my wife. The staff is very friendly and will take good care of you. No one is a stranger at "The Court." For parties, there is plenty of room for Weddings or whatever you need.

I went to shandon court for Brunch Easter Sunday. I want to say from when I made the reservation the lady that answered the phone went out of her way to accommodate me. then when we arrived at 11am the place was decorated so pretty for Easter even had an Easter bunny walking around and the children looked so happy, everyone did.The food was very good, there where alot of choices and there was a sheet of paper on the table with pencils to request the omelette u would like and it was made for you so u didn’t have to wait for an omelette on a line, what a great idea! and when it came it was very tasty. The bartender was great she made such a great Bloody Mary for me it was so good I had to have a second one and after my daughter tasted mine she wanted one also, hers with tequila instead of vodka :) thanks to such a great friendly bartender!! all in all it was such a nice time thanks to all at Shannon court for making our Easter wonderful! we will visit again and be sure to pass on to others our great experience! thank you again!

We had my daughters baby shower on Sunday September 19, 2021. We had to reschedule it from August during Hurricane Henri, to the September date. Kristen Aiello was very accommodating. My daughter was very happy with the room set, the food was delicious and Paula and her staff were awesome! Many of my guests also said they had a great time. I would recommend Shandon Court.

I had my daughters baby shower on 8/13/16 in the dining room that was partitioned off from the rest of the restaurant, they did a great job. The staff were wonderful, the food great and they made my daughters feel very special. The chef was able to make my niece a gluten free meal from the choices that was selected and fruit for dessert as she could not eat the cake. My guest told me they enjoyed the meal and the service which made me feel good as some came from out of the county and state.Thank you Rosie for your role in making this day special for me as a first time Grandma and my daughter. I had the pleasure of djing a private new years party. The room was small yet very beautiful. Can fit comfortably 60-80 people. Food was delicious, bartender was on point, and from an entertainers stand point, very easy load in and out.

I had my baby shower here about a month ago in the upstairs room and not only did I have the best time ever and best experience, lots of my guests who attended that day have since told me how much they loved it and thought the food was delicious as well! The staff were very nice and made sure to confirm with me or my fiance regarding moving forward with food, desert, cutting the cake before doing so. Co-workers enjoyed a post holiday luncheon of several savory choices but there was no bar service provided at our table and so I would not rate their service above average when drink orders had to be placed at the bar individually. I had my wedding here and it was the most amazing time ever. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere. Our Maitre D Kristen was amazing from day one and made sure everything was organized and exactly how we wanted it. I highly recommend Shandon Court for any event!

I just had my husband's surprise 50th at Shandon Court and everything was perfect. Donna and Kristin were extremely helpful with the planning and the staff that were assigned to the party were amazing. The party was held upstairs in the Jury Room which is a great space. Everyone raved about the food (those roast potatoes!) and the drinks were flowing and perfectly chilled. The setup is great too as after the party was over we were able to keep it going in the bar downstairs and on the front patio. I can't say enough good things about the venue, staff and food and my guests definitely agreed.

My wife had a friend's bridal shower here. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The place was beautiful and perfectly set up. They offer a tea party theme which my wife chose and everyone loved it! It included all different types of teas and half sandwiches which several people told me were amazing. Every single one of the staff members were super helpful with last minute details as we set up. We would definitely recommend this place and we'd definitely go back! There was two or three other parties there of varying sizes so it's perfect for any size party and none of the other parties affected ours. It's almost a week later and we're still getting compliments on what a great party we set up!

Celebrated a private anniversary party at this venue with about 100 people. It is a beautiful space. The public dining room and bar are also inviting. The food was excellent and the staff very accommodating. A great place to hold an event or just a dinner out. .

I was here for a 50th birthday party. I was the DJ, but also a friend of the birthday boy and many other people. I found the staff to be extremely courteous, conscientious, and most helpful. If I lived closer to Islip Long Island, I would probably be a regular here. It seemed like a great older building with a lot of nostalgia. It was very calming and pleasant inside. Since I did not host the party I don't know how much the per person price was. By the quality of the food and service, whatever it was it was worth it.

My husband and I enjoy a meal at Shandon Court on a weekly basis. We are always greeted promptly and warmly by the staff. We have always experienced excellent service - quick, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy,warm and elegant. We especially love the table in the corner near the fireplace. The food is excellent - my husband especially enjoys the Dragon Chicken; I've had a variety of items, from the bar menu panini to the Strawberry fields salad, and I have never been disappointed. In addition to dining there on a weeknight, we've enjoyed a holiday dinner there (Easter, 2013) which my mother described as the best and most relaxed Easter dinner we've ever had. We've had two catered parties there as well - my engagement party as well as a friends bridal shower. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding for both events. We plan to continue our weekly dinners out there and we're positive that if we have need of a restaurant at which to have a catered event in the future we will, of course, choose Shandon Court. We can't say enough great things about this place!

My husband and I are so thrilled with our experience yesterday at Shandon Court. The team here could not have been more accommodating and the service was impeccable. We came to the restaurant after my son’s Baptism and were set up in the lounge area. Everything was ready for us, table was beautiful! I called a few times leading up asking if I could bring a cake, a few balloons. I also asked if I could stop by a bit earlier to drop a few things off. I never heard a NO! We had such a great day thanks to Shandon Court! Perfection! We will be back!

This is a very nice restaurant with an intimate and beautifully appointed decor. Chef Edgar and his team of chefs put together a very tasty set of dishes for our event tonight. Thank you very much and the restaurantI has suttle touches of elegance and the catering/ dance hall is great for up to about 14 round tables hosting 10 guests a piece easily. The dance floor is about 30 by 50 feet in length and just right for dancing those calories away

Shandon court hosted my daughter’s sweet 16 last week. It was fantastic. We booked it in April for a July party. We met with Kristen multiple times prior to discuss the specific details. We chose the larger room downstairs and it was worth every penny. We hosted 65 people and it was perfectly spaced. They offer a great package which includes dj, Photo Booth along with hair and make up at a beautiful salon down the street. The salon paid special attention to both my daughter and my requests. All around we had a beautiful memorable day and we owe it all to Kristen at Shandon court.

A hidden gem in east Islip. The place is located right off main St, so it's easy to find. The staff was friendly and service was great! Food is very good so no matter what you get off the menu, you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is very homely, nicely decorated, and what makes it a plus is that they also have live music at 8 pm . Overall a must go to if you haven't tried but if you're on the fence go during restaurant week. You can try out the prefix menu for a value price and try it that way

Shandon Court was an incredible experience for our wedding! Kristen was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable throughout the planning process, and we looked so forward to each meeting we had with her. She did outside research between meetings to get information for us, she answered any and all questions we had with patience, and she was always available to reach out to when questions would come up. On our wedding day, Kristen was hands on the entire day, making sure everything was running smoothly and perfectly. She was there start to finish, and I don't think I saw her stop moving once the whole day. She made sure my husband and my glasses were always full, that we made time to sit and eat, and that everyone was comfortable and having a good time. I can't say enough good things about Kristen and the staff at Shandon. As a team, they really made the day go off without a hitch! Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The room was set up beautifully, the tulle arbor gave an ethereal feel to the ceremony and sweetheart table, and all of the food was to die for! Many people told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and they're still raving about it weeks later! The space was gorgeous for the ceremony and shifted flawlessly into a party space for the reception. I truly can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. It was a perfect day for us and our friends and family, and we're beyond thrilled with how the day went. I'd highly recommend Shandon Court for really any type of party, and the bar/restaurant is also excellent for a night out!

Went here for lunch and it was well worth it. The place seems classy and there is an event hall in the back. As for the food, the rations seemed a bit on the small side but they ended up being more than enough. We ordered the salmon and it was delicious. Their wine is very well priced and the service is very friendly. On some days they have live music.

I go to Shandon Court from time to time usually on a Friday cause they usually have two acts that night. The first performer is usually acoustic and I hear they put out a happy hour spread to munch on, but you have to get there early if want any cause this is a favorite among the local adult homes. It's probably easier to order something from their menu. The second performance oft times includes the owner at vocals with a band. They put on a good show and that guy has a great voice. Worth the show.

Went to a baby shower for my grandson. Service was excellent! Upstairs room was spacious and beautifly decorated. Food was good and everyone had a great time.

Made Valentine's day dinner reservations for 8:30pm. Arrived 8:18, seated 8:51(not bad, it was packed). The service supplied by hostess, waiter and bus people was relaxed, accommodating & swift. The live music was a bit loud for the sound system being used, but once we were seated the sound was better. Great choice of music too. The food was fantastic!

Attended two events here in two weeks! Kind of unexpected venue when you pull up to the place as it looks like a regular restaurant however they have two pretty big rooms for catering. Very clean and decent looking. Buffet food was just ok but I guess that's normal for a place like this.

We went here for a celebration of life. I believe there is 30 people we were sitting outside and there's a nice covered area. The bartender was super nice and very helpful with picking out wines. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Because it was an events it was a limited menu They have steak Diane, chicken, and a pasta. I got the chicken and it was tender juicy and perfectly cooked. It was served with fresh green beans which I was very happy with and they were cooked perfectly not too hard not to soggy. For dessert it was an odd take on an apple pie. It was more like an apple strudel with ice cream and it was super delicious. I'm not an apple pie person but this was absolutely fabulous.

We were here for a family event in the room to the left after you walk in. The room was nice and modern. For drinks, you had to walk down the hallway to the bar, which was also available for anyone at the restaurant. Only one bartender, who was super nice and good at her job, she was just swamped taking care of two events and normal patrons. Food was decent, not fantastic but not terrible either. I would recommend overall.

The decor was absolutely lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt perfect for celebrating the bride-to-be. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly great – the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. And the food was delicious! Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The only slight drawbacks to note are the restrooms. They are quite tiny and located solely on the first floor. This could be a significant issue for anyone using a wheelchair or with mobility challenges. Additionally, if your event is booked on the second floor, be aware that accessing the restrooms requires navigating a set of stairs, as there is no elevator or chair lift available. Overall, Shandon Court offers a wonderful experience with its beautiful ambiance, excellent service, and tasty food. However, it's important to consider the restroom situation, especially if you have guests with mobility limitations or if your event is on the second floor. Despite this, I would still highly recommend Shandon Court for events, earning it a solid 4-star rating.

I went to a catered event here. The food was very good food and the room was a good size but the waitstaff were not effective and seemed to lack training. The coffee station was restocked but left dirty and looking a mess and the coffee ran out multiple times. Dirty dishes piled up on the table. I am not sure if this was a lack of staff issue or lack of training, but i would not hold an event here.

I will go back and try again, I really liked the atmosphere. But, my salmon seemed really over-cooked and my lava cake barely had any lava. Also, the waiter came across a little condescending... but it seemed to have a lot of promise, so I plan to try again.

Wedding reception room was beautiful. Food was not great at all. The steak had a funky taste and the string beans tasted like they came from a can.

My chosen family had pre-fixeThanksgiving dinner here. The entrees came on individual plates while the vegetables were served family style. I had potato soup as an appetizer, which was excellent. The turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes were good, but as a person on a low sodium diet, it was too salty for me. I ordered a perfect Manhattan to drink and was surprised when it was served on the rocks. I did not complain, assuming an inexperienced bartender. But, I made sure I ordered my second one up. When the bill came, I had to ask why one was more; the explanation that drinks on the rocks are charged an extra $2 was just absurd. The fact that I did not oder it on the rocks compiled with another person in our party requesting a glass of ice and NOT charged for it makes it a scam. I did not want to end the evening with a negative reaction, so I expressed my surprise to the waitress. But, I know if I eat here again that I need to ask questions and to be specific in my ordering. The pre-fixe menu was clear that tea and coffee was included with dessert, yet we were also billed for that. We did have those extra charges removed from the bill before paying. I understand that the restaurant business is not highly profitable, yet adding on charges, including a credit card surcharge, just feels wrong. These are things that makevthis review more negative than it should have been.

Well was excited to eat here and heard good things about it. The food was superb and the service was wonderful. Well I had the seafood combo in scampi sauce and was soooo disappointed!! The dish was so bland not a hint of garlic not even any sauce but a lemon! With white rice??? I ate it talking with my friends but will never order that again!!!

The place is really nice but I think the bar is for an older crowd and im 45 years old I have blonde hair and I walked in there one day by myself just to get an appetizer and a beer I had this guy coming up to me he was a jerk and being very rude made me feel uncomfortable and was degrading talking to me while I was trying to eat my food offering me shots and I had to tell him to go away and it took him a while.

Food is very subpar, but it is a nice location for a mid to large parties. Their idea of top shelf liquor is bottom shelf at most comparable places. Do not order a steak of you expect your desired temperature to arrive. Staff was very nice, but too young and inexperienced to understand a higher level of service and quality is expected.

Food was good, but they charged a 20% service fee for our 30 person party. We thought it was for the tip but was informed it was for the salary of the wait staff. So we had to pay for a tip and a 20% service fee. This seemed a little wrong to me.

I have never had to read the fine print at a restaurant before! Went to Shandon court for Mother’s Day brunch and was disappointed. It started out that are table wasn’t ready when we arrived for our reservation. Not occupied, just not set up! Our server Anthony was great btw. Then the long line for the buffet. Okay it’s mother days kinda have to accept that. Then the food was warm to cold and they were running out of things (food plates) before it was over. THEN TO TOP IT OFF I GET THE BILL AND THERE IS A SERVICE FEE FOR MY EVENT OF 72.00 TO COVER EXPENSES!! When I asked the manager I was told it’s on the website! She did nothing for my party of 9. At the top of the page it says 39.95 pp. then In fine putting it says taxes and service fees are not included. Never have I had service fees unless I catered it! Maybe if the manager showed a little compassion I would have given them another chance. Not now! I’ll take my 9 people and go somewhere that cares!

Had Easter dinner there, table of 12 adults. Waiter was pleasant & friendly. We sat down at 4:30, did not get our dinner until 7:15. 😨. The waiter apologized. The manager never came over our table. When the bill came, they should of gave us some sort of discount. Nope. Next time we will probably eat somewhere else.

It is with a very heavy heart that I only have a terrible review of Shandon Court and their poor business practices. I booked a small party November 2021 for the following April. I was forced to cancel due to an unforeseen urgent medical reason and was not in the financial position to continue with the party due to treatment expenses. I share this because the owner refused to speak with me and only insisted through Donna’s emails that they would be losing business and would be keeping my money. I canceled less than 30 days after booking with 5 months in advance. I kept in touch every month asking for the owner to speak with me. They refused. I understand Catering policies, however Shandon Court is a restaurant as well. They could not prove if they rebooked a party and even do their restaurant and bar are open daily. I have heard from other restaurants that the owner is dishonest and under NO circumstances would speak to me or even offer a partial refund. I believe references are everything when it comes to hospitality. I would never step foot in their restaurant or recommend anyone to do business with them. A person could have a terminal illness and this owner would keep their money for not a single service rendered. Even during a pandemic with such constant uncertainty, Shandon Court remains a terrible example of humanity. Every situation deserves consideration. And if they needed to keep my money then clearly their business is not thriving .

I'm confused we have been here since 630pm today on October 14th. 1/4 of our table has been served food. It's a shame caz the food is great when it comes out WHAT A SHAME!!! There needs to be a better manager in the kitchen..

We had reservations for 17 people made 3-4 weeks in advance for 1:00 on a Sunday afternoon. There were only 2 other customers in the restaurant area and a handful of people at the bar. We received a basket of rolls 75 minutes after we were seated. The service was very slow and by slow I mean we couldn't get anyone to take our orders in a timely manner and our meals (simple sandwiches and salads,) were not served until 2:40p....1 hour and 40 minutes after we arrived. We had to repeatedly ask for ice, refills, flatware, etc. When we received our bills, everyone noticed that our iced tea and coffee refills were all charged at the full price of $3.00.....meaning my 3 teas in SMALL glasses cost me $9.00. Now wouldn't you think that because we waited and waited for all services and our meals (for nearly 2 hours,) that they could have at least comped our non-alcoholic drinks....not so- my bill for 2 non-alcoholic drinks (with refills) cost me $15.00. Tea and coffee are the CHEAPEST beverage to make....so our $15 bought about 50 tea bags and 2 cans of coffee. Yes I did speak to the staff. I waited over 10 minutes to speak with a manager....only to find out the manager was not in on that day. The staff was unable to provide any customer service bill adjustment and said that 2 months ago a server was fired for comping a beverage. Sad to say- there wasn't one person in our party that said that they would dine there again because of the long wait for all requests and the poor customer service. When reservations are made well in advance, it is the expectation of the customer that the establishment is going to be prepared to handle their needs. Lastly, talk to your customers: tell them that meals are running late because _______, list on the menu that there are no free refills, and apologize for the poor service. Own your shortcomings.....it goes a long way!

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Bad place all around. Went for Mother’s Day brunch. From the food to the staff - huge disappointment. Staff was nice- but untrained And unprofessional. should have read reviews before we booked And took our whole family there. Emailed restaurant with our concerns after but never got a response. A brunch that is advertised for 39.99 plus 20% tip AND 20% service fee!!! Could have been ok if food and service was good but can’t say that. Food was warm to cold. Not so tasty. Never got a server For cash drinks. Dirty dishes piled up on table. The drink part of buffet was constantly empty and when they refilled at least the mimosas there were no glasses. Staff was nice but seem young and they didn’t know what to do. We watched several staff just talking Among themselves. Table of 14 and kept asking for water. They would bring out a little carafe of water that wasn’t enough for our table. After waiting 20 mins for water. Order omelettes that finally Came after we were ready to leave and we are what we could eat from buffet, and was cold anyway. Had to “find the lady” to pay our Bill. Not so easy. I can understand if busy or short staffed but that wasn’t the issue. Place was unorganized and not managed well at all. Such a disappointed and the money we paid- we won’t be going back. We could Not Wait to leave. Was there a long Time. Horrible experience. We had to eat food when we got Home as we were still hungry. I understand could have been “off day”, that happens. But our emails were never responded. Was so bothered by the price. This was not right at all!

Unfortunately, I must say that it was quite disappointing. The staff was incompetent and rude, the food served was cold, and it was evident that there were issues with the management as they failed to order the proper amount of food for our party. I would not recommend anyone to host an event at based on my experience. I believe it's essential for the management to address these issues to ensure that future guests have a better experience. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent 40th-anniversary celebration event that was hosted at your venue. I had high expectations for the event and paid extra to include filet mignon and salmon per person for the dinner. However, upon arrival, it became clear that there was a severe lack of proper planning on the vendor's part. Despite having 64 adults and 5 children in attendance, only 50 filet mignons were ordered, resulting in a significant shortage of food. This led to an embarrassing situation where some of my guests were informed that the filet mignon had run out, while others were already halfway through their meals. Furthermore, the manner in which the situation was handled by the maitre d' was appalling. Her rudeness towards our guests and inability to communicate effectively only added to the already distressing experience. Blaming the shortage of food on the number of children ordering from the adult menu was unprofessional and unacceptable. In addition to the food shortage, the quality of the dishes served was subpar, with many guests noting that their meals were served cold. The lack of attention to detail and poor service standards displayed by your staff have left a lasting negative impression on me and my guests. Overall, the level of incompetence and lack of professionalism exhibited by your establishment is deeply concerning. I would strongly advise against hosting any future events at your venue to spare others from experiencing similar disappointments. I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues raised to prevent such incidents from reoccurring in the future.
