Classic Irish pub good service.. will be coming here for dinner everytime I go to hunter mountain as it is right across the street👍
Wings and fries were awesome. Pub had that “cheers” atmosphere. Also the beers were reasonably priced unlike the hunter mountain bar at the lodge….
Came in with four other ladies and had a blast in the small amount of time we were there. Owner turned the fryer back on so we can eat. Food was tasty, good old school vibes in the music, and we chatted with friendly drunks. I would return here any day.
Went to this hidden gem after a long day on the slopes… had a great time with my buddies with some great service from Ronnie MacGregor himself! Food was excellent and played some games of pool to finish off the night. Great experience and friendly staff! This place is a must visit
I had a few beers here. Nice atmosphere, friendly enough folks, good band, sports on tv, cold beer. Good enough for me!
Super friendly bartender (with the Bavaria shirt!), didn’t even blink when I whined about needing lettuce and tomato for my sandwich, and shared an electrolyte tablet when I told her I’d been hiking. Wish I could’ve hung out longer.
Let me just start with this, Mc G's is the most genuine real MTN top experience you will ever have, Vicky is an absolute gem. We ordered appetizers and they all exceeded our expectations, wings were the best I've ever had. I used to go here back in the day but I didn't think they would live up to the legendary status after all of these years! Burger was the best I've ever had. Solid. You won't have a better experience on the MTN top if your looking for a real low key townie dive bar with pool a jukebox and a history worth asking about!
Ate there after a long 11 mile hike in the rain. It was a beautiful night. We were still wet and we ate outside. The gentleman who is working the bar that night was extremely helpful and gracious. It's his only night working there so we were happy that we got him. The food was good and hit the spot. The locals were very nice to us as well.
This place is right outside Hunter Mountain, super convenient location with a great view of the mountain. The food is good! I tried their wings & I loved the fact they sell them individually! I also had the chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries and I tried their chilly! Definitely recommend! Overall great service, good beer options & good food.
Nice little hole in the wall bar/restaurant . Very close to Hunter Ski mountain. Picture attached is a view of the mountain.
Just went for a beer. Good selection they had. This is a cash only place there is a ATM there but didn't use it. I didn't have any food so I can't review. The pool table is nice they have a separate room for that.
Great pub food, great service the atmosphere is where everybody knows your name.
Vicky is awesome, good drinks, fun atmosphere..Beck's bottles on ice....
Fun dive bar for years. Good mix of people enjoying and laughing
It's atmosphere is nice they don't take credit cards so you know I have to go to the ATM the driveway if there's snow is fun you can always do burnouts but I mean it definitely seems like a vet bar so it's pretty nice on that are very well going out of the way to make sure but still a nice place $4 Bud Lights so sort of the expensive side you got to figure that it's where in Hunter and yeah they serve but looks to be amazing food so if you're by by Hunter Mountain after skiing doing the slopes why don't you stop on in on down why not enjoy it it's the only pool hall apparently on Hunter Mountain
NEVER AGAIN! We are used to leaving good or great reviews, and occasionally a critical review. But we almost never have to leave a VERY BAD review. Ronni MacGregor's failed on almost every count and earned a VERY BAD review. GROUP RESERVATION: Made weeks in advance for our group of 20. CONFIRMATION: Our group organizer called and re-confirmed two days in advance and was told that extra staff was being added to accommodate our group. BARTENDER: One who seemed intoxicated and became more so as the evening dragged on. WAITSTAFF: None. SEATING: Not enough for our pre-reserved & re-confirmed group of 20. TABLE SERVICE: None. After waiting over half an hour for table service, the bartender told a couple people in our group that they would have to place their meal orders, as well as their drink orders, at the bar. TABLE SETTINGS: None. Members of our group had to get utensils, napkins, pitchers of water and cups, and then set the tables. TURN AROUND TIME: 1-1/2 to 2 hours. We arrived at our 7pm reservation time. Two hours later, some had still not received their food. Three of our group were so hungry and disgusted by the neglect that after waiting over an hour, they drove to another restaurant in town, had an excellent meal with attentive table service, and then returned to Ronni MacGregors to find us all there and still waiting for our food. (It was not the cook's fault. There was no way one could accommodate our group plus the others in the restaurant in a timely manner. More staff was needed.) FOOD QUALITY: The burgers were good but definitely NOT worth the wait, the aggravation, and having to do all of our own service.
Not enough staff despite phoning ahead. Lost orders. Burgers were good.
We came here before my husbands boot fitting for a late lunch. We had no problem getting a seat at the bar, however the bartender was a bit stand offish when we sat down. Seemed like we were a bother coming in. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they came out still frozen in the middle. They didn’t have a problem giving us a new order tho. Then I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and was served what I think was a chicken bacon ranch wrap, on a stale wrap. My husband got the cheesesteak which had what I can only describe as “straight from the fridge cheese slices” just placed on top. At that point we just laughed and decided not to say something again. Then the music came on and it was soooo unbearably loud we thought it was a joke and maybe it was just for the one song. No. It was the remainder of the time we were there. I’ve never heard music that loud in a restaurant. Poor food, lacking service. We will not be going back.
I want to like this place so bad. I love a good ski bar with cold beer and good food. We’ve been here a few times after snowboarding at Hunter, and each time has been subpar. They are perpetually understaffed which makes service incredibly slow; however the two staff they do have are very nice and you can tell they are trying their best. Food is your typical bar fare and decent, if they get your order right. I ordered a chicken wrap with no ranch, and it came out with it. Ok, no problem they’ll fix it. My next “wrap” comes out basically as a salad with the tortilla ripped apart and not even cut into two pieces. I’ve officially learned my lesson and will look elsewhere for food after a day on the mountain. Also, it’s cash only, which is annoying.
If you don’t notice the fascist window stickers on the way in, you’ll still be disappointed by the food, the service, and the toilet that faces into the urinal.
Bartender barely acknowledged us when I asked if they served food. Sat at a table solid 20+ minutes. Served bar patrons, generally ignored us. Can't comment on food since we eventually left. Wish we didn't bother stopping. Won't stop there again when coming through town.
