The 6 of us stopped here for lunch and were very happy that we did. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the drink menu was great. Highly recommend trying the pizzas and pastas here.
Loved the classy, Instagrammable vibe at Zizzi — perfect for a stylish dinner out. We started with the bruschetta(tip: add mozzarella for extra flavour!). The Margherita pizza with extra cheese was decent, but the real winner was the spinach & ricotta cheese ravioli in tomato-pesto sauce — even as a non-tomato fan, I loved it! Drinks were okay, with a nice passion fruit one. For dessert, the cheesecake with blackcurrant was fantastic! Tiramisu was good, lemon sundae was average. A bit pricey, but worth it for the experience. Limited but solid vegetarian and vegan options. Would definitely go back! 🍕🍷🍰
We ended up here by accident actually but very happy we did! First of all, the waiting staff here are so genuinely friendly and helpful, and just kind! They went over and beyond. Restaurant itself also is lovely, and the menu is full of great options. We got a sharing board and would 10/10 recommend!
A big shout out to Ola, who catered to us and indeed she was only the extension to already lovely and welcoming vibe and the deliciously fresh food that was cooked to perfection. Ola, keep up the good work at doing your job in the most friendly and cheerfully way! Definitely a restaurant i would recommend and want to come back for a meal!
The food was great, the desserts are not it
Food was delicious and staff very friendly and chatty especially Janos. Definitely I'll be back there.
The food is incredible i literally finished the whole pasta plate I fully recommend if going to Scotland 😋
We had a fantastic experience at Zizzi during today’s vegan meet-up! Our group gathered for a lovely evening of delicious Italian food, and Zizzi didn’t disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the garlic bread, Pasta Pomodoro, and the exciting new addition to the vegan menu — aubergine meatball pizza — all of which were absolutely delightful and unanimously approved by our group. The true highlight of the evening, however, was the outstanding service from our server, Janos. He was warm, professional, and incredibly funny, making us feel truly welcome. His lovely manner made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Zizzi and Janos, for a wonderful evening — we’ll definitely be back!
Excellent food and service. One of the best risottos I've had, very creamy and grilled salmon was perfectly juicy; and sweetness of lemonade was balanced with soureness. Will definitely come back when i visit the city next time!
Staff waiting our table was very polite. Great service! Loved the ambience and the pizza was pretty awesome. Being vegetarians, we were a little skeptical but boy, we were proven wrong! Zizzi is super and we would love to visit again.
Ola was a great server. Attentive and personable. We all enjoyed our pizzas (Pure Pepperoni and Sticky pig). And don’t forget the garlic bombe starter and salted caramel brownie!
An amazing Gem at the heart of Edinburgh. Ola, was amazing! Her attitude, knowledge, suggestions and kindness upheld the experience to an even higher level! Definitely recommend!
To had our christmas lunch in zizzi. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails. the food was excellent and it satisfied our needs at the time and it was a pleasant dining experience. Zizzi is an excellent choice if you love Italian pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. They only have a limited number of pizza options but the food is excellent.
We took our lunch today in here. Staff was very kind. All foods were also very good! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!
It was overall a great experience! We arrived there with the information that there’d be a slight delay due to some bigger groups dining too, but the host (unfortunately we didn’t ask his name) did everything in his power to get our food done first so we actually barely waited at all! The ambient inside is very nice and we appreciated the self painted walls a lot :) 10/10 dining experience, definitely would recommend
Happen to stumble upon this restaurant while going to the Dean bridge, love the pizza the crust is thin and crispy especially the pull pork and the giant prawn pasta is good too. A nice place to dine in. The service time was ok it didn’t take too long to be served. Staffs are friendly, but seems to be a bit short handed. Overall experience is good!
A pleasant place to eat and drink. The meals were tasty and well presented. Ola delivered excellent service, she recommended good wine, and she made our day. Thank you
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Lots of delicious vegan options! I had the bruschetta and the vegan pizza with aubergine “meatballs”. My wife had the garlic and mozzarella bomb and a margarita pizza.
We had a very pleasant experience at Zizzi. The restaurant looked beautiful, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and we had a lovely waitress, Ola. The restaurant takes allergies into account very well and thinks along with you. In summary, it was great.
Food was excellent, and we were served by a lovely young waitress. Given that we were only a few weeks away from Christmas, there wasn't much of an atmosphere. However, that wouldn't stop us returning in the future.
We had lunch here today and we loved the food. Nicole was perfect, very helpful and lovely. Thank you very much!
Had the chorizo carbonara, probably the best carbonara I’ve ever had. Service was fast and efficient. Thanks to Nina, Ola for the great service.
We returned today after eating last Saturday with a party of 15 . Was disappointed to find we were not able to use Blue Light discount or Tesco vouchers . The explanation was an “Event Day”. We understand Hogmanay, Valentine’s Day etc but why is a rugby match different from any other day in the Capital City? What is an “event” in Edinburgh? This should be clearly defined. Is the Edinburgh Fringe an event? Is a football match an event? This should be clearly highlighted on the outside of your restaurant and on your website before booking. Your staff were lovely but we won’t be back on another rugby day as your prices without discount are too dear . We would have returned again next week at the next “event”. Scotland v Tonga on 23rd but will need to use our Tesco and Blue light vouchers elsewhere.
Lovely food, lovely staff just a great time all together. They’re great with certain allergies.
Served by the wonderful Star. Very professional. Excellent service, very efficient with a large and demanding group! Thanks for a great night. Cracking food! That honeycomb cheesecake was gorgeous!
We stopped by looking for dinner near our hotel and found this place and OMG, we’re so glad we did! The food was amazing, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. Special shout out to Ola, who took great care of us and made the experience even better.
Star looked after us and she was perfection. Attentive, respectful, friendly, courteous and damn right amazing at her job. We were a large party and she took it in her stride, no one was left wanting anything. Upsold sides, extra drinks- what else do you want. Atmosphere was amazing too. The food, oooh! DELICIOUS! Would highly recommend this place. The 3 course deal is amazing value!
Janos our waiter was excellent. Very attentive with a good humour especially dealing with 3 ladies on Prosecco. Food d was lovely and service was great. Will definitely be back.
We visited during the work with a large table of 10 people at short notice. Nicole was very friendly and helpful while dealing with our table and was very patient while we all did the awful thing of paying separately. The food was amazing and we had a great time. Thanks Nicole!
Had a lovely dinner here, friendly service and great food! Ola was wonderful and made us feel very welcomed!
Just had a lovely walk thinking, cant be bothered making tea, cause the rugby is on.,and decided to pop in to Zizis, best idea i have had in 24 hours,🤣.Just home now after almost finishing the best Pizza, had the rest put in a box for later.but all the courgette fritti ..gone. shared the Raspberry cheesecake with raspberry coulis.🙏.the lovely waiter finished it all of with a complimentary hot chocolate..im now ready for bed, andlook at the time. Will see you very soon ZIZI, for a repeat performance..20out of 10..❤️
Lovely Christmas meal as a large group. I don't normally leave restaurant reviews but wanted to say how unexpectedly good this was, largely thanks to the amazing service from the lady with short dark hair. She went above and beyond, especially for the kids and our dietary requirements. Thanks!
italian restaurant not too busy , made ourselves known on arrival . had the pizza and the lasagna both tasted really good , love the idea of the food served on the wooden boards added to the overall affect if the italian experience , loved the food
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with care. What truly elevated the experience, though, was Ola’s exceptional service. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful — checking in at just the right moments and making us feel so welcome without being intrusive. Her positive energy and professionalism made the evening feel extra special. Thank you, Ola, for your wonderful service — you’re a true asset to the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!
Five stars! I was really impressed with the quality of the meal. Every dish was delicious and fresh. Beyond the food, the service really made the lunch. The team was friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Highly recommend!
We left the restaurant very happy. Since we don’t eat pork, Abdullah was extremely helpful with our food choices and took great care of us throughout the meal🙏🏻 He was very kind, attentive, and understanding. Having such helpful and friendly staff made our experience truly enjoyable. Special thanks to Abdullah for his excellent service🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️ We would definitely love to come back again.
Me and my girlfriend, went to zizzi's around 4pm on a Sunday, ordered garlic bread for a starter which had a nice crunchy crust and a perfect amount of cheese, then as the main we ordered the margarita pizza which was very nice and cooked on point, for dessert we got a beautiful fudge cake which was extraordinary chocolatey and very scrumptious, then when we went to pay we received a mini hot chocolate as a complimentary drink. Great customer service, all polite staff and would recommend to visit. We will be returning ourselves.
Had an amazing time at Zizzi Queensferry. From the moment we walked in, the food, service, ambience, and genuinely warm staff created a standout experience. The table arrangement, attention to preferences, and overall delivery showed strong guest focus and quality execution. A special mention for the pizza. It truly stood out and was crafted to perfection with excellent flavor and balance. Everything we ordered was impressive, but the pizza was clearly the hero item. If you are exploring Edinburgh and want a relaxed and satisfying food break between sightseeing stops, this place is absolutely worth visiting. It is a strong recommendation for food lovers and anyone looking to recharge with a calm, enjoyable meal. Many thanks to Star and her team. You added another memorable highlight to our Edinburgh trip.
The place is nice and specious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the portion is fair enough. I would really recommend the lasagna 👌🏼 The prices are average. Overall experience was great and I would recommend it.
We came here on a Sunday evening around 7.30pm. It was quite empty inside but has a lot of seating. The food was tasty and served quite quickly. It took a while for us to be noticed, seated, and for our order to be taken. It did feel a bit like staff were avoiding us but then again it might be because it was a Sunday evening. Staff were friendly enough. Convenient place to come and eat with decent pricing, especially because with a blue light card there was a 20% discount.
The service was a bit slow to begin with but once the food started to arrive they were very attentive and helpful. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Went to the one in Edinburgh for my birthday tea with family. Was a good night and food great. Abdullah Jim was great service and even sang happy birthday (better than my family haha)
Great food ,thankfully the restaurant was quiet as minimal staff on duty so it worked ok for our table. Unfortunately the premises were not sufficiently heated and we found ourselves feeling cold . Staff didn't seem very familiar with payment system and options for error correction, however our issue was eventually resolved. The staff were very pleasant though which was appreciated. Having said all of that we will probably return sometime in the future.
I must say, the food here wasn't very good. It wasn't prepared bad for say but it was lacking care and flavor. Almost like the gaf factor was a little low. The desserts on the other hand were really good. This place has a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly just the food left something to be desired.
Food was great but the service not so much. Heavily reduced menu and even then some things on the menu weren’t available.
Came for a New Year meal with a large group of friends last week. My calamari starter and tiramisu dessert were fine. But my spaghetti carbonara was essentially a congealed mass with all the pasta sticking together. The only way I could eat it was to cut the mass into pieces. Possibly the dish was fine as cooked, but they left it for too long before it was served so that the egg just set - it was indeed rather cold when it reached me. My two neighbours took pity on me and gave me some of their pizza, both of which were in fact superb. My rating reflects the terrible carbonara.
We come here tonight for dinner . We was a party of 6. Place was very quiet . However service was very very slow. Didnt get asked if we wanted another drink when our main meals turned up. Waited a long time from our main meal to getting asked what we would like for dessert as we had the set meals ( we had to wave to get waitress attention). Piggy pizza was very greasy was dripping off the pizza. The lemon cheesecake was very dry. Spaghetti carbonara was lovely and so was our starters. Overall the meal was fine but with service being so slow and not being asked if we wanted more drinks it was a let down.
We ordered at 8pm and recieved our order at 9:30pm, lets not forget the fact we asked them how much more do we have to wait for our food and they told us 10min only for them to take almost 30min.I ordered a pizza, it was so thin and burned it shattered when i tried to cut it. I asked for prosciutto as an extra topping and respect for the cook who had the courage to add 2 mini pieces of it, the tomatoes on the pizza also had an unpleasent taste. I will upload a photo of my friend’s food who also had a dissapointing experience.
Tasteless and over priced. Thankfully there was a discount on deliveroo otherwise I'd have been horrified paying that amount for the quality of food. Mozzarella Arancini was small, tasteless with the consistency of paste. The honey dip would have been better suited to a desert - why? The all out Lasagne tastes like something from a supermarket and I have no idea what difference the extra cash made. The best thing about this delivery was the Coca Cola. Does your food come pre cooked and heated up? If not, please visit a few other itialian restaurants for tips.
I ordered the pasta and pizza. The pasta 0/10 tasted really bad no salt and a strange aftertaste, and the oil they used seemed cheap i get heartburn, The pizza was about 5/10. I also asked about the free garlic bread as they mentioned on their website membership. but he refused and said I should have ordered it from the beginning. But if it’s free, why not include it anyway !
