Pho Edinburgh Lothian Road

We had such a great experience at Pho! It was our first time there, and the service was amazing — the staff were super friendly and gave us great recommendations, which really helped. You could tell they cared about making sure we had a good experience. And the food was incredible — so fresh, and flavorful. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Another brilliant experience at Pho on Lothian road. Not only delicious allergen friendly food, but phenomenal service. My sister requires a blended diet and we normally take food with us but forgot today. The staff in Pho went above and beyond to make sure that she had something she could eat blending up her dinner for us. 10/10 experience and will definitely be back again.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner plus drinks at this Vietnamese restaurant. We started with the Seafood Spring Rolls and Crispy Baby Squid (our waiter kindly explained the best way to consume them). Then came the Crab Noodle Soup and Brisket and Mushroom Pho. It was all very flavorful and filling, and the friendly staff made it extra special. Highly recommended cocktails: Spicy Lychee Maragarita, Dragon Fruit and Lime Martini, Pride Punch (favorite!). Would definitely return if back in Edinburgh.

I’ve recently visited Pho with my family and oh my gosh we had the best time. The vibes were immaculate and the food was amazing! A special shout-out to Viki, who made the visit even better. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her friendly energy added so much to the experience. It’s clear she cares about giving guests a great time. Not to mention the manager coming over to us and making friendly conversation. Making our visit here a monthly tradition. Thank you guys!

During my stay in Edinburgh I visited this restaurant twice and was served by Marte and Iza. They were so lovely and even recognised me on my second visit. they were great at showing me through the menu and were so welcoming. The food is so delicious and sooooo many options are gluten free! It was a great experience!

Great food. Excellent service by Chiara. She really made us feel welcomed and remembered tiny details about what we did/didn't like throughout our dinner. She had great knowledge of the menu and recommended dishes and sides based on our likes. Her friendly and fun chat made the perfect start to our night. Will definitely be back not just for the great food, but for us to see Chiara again 😊 (we almost asked for her number!!) The food was delicious. Been to a few Pho around the country but this was definitely the best. All dishes were freshly made, hot, and balanced perfectly for taste. Again the recommendations from Chiara helped match different dishes together which definitely added a nice touch. Good mix of people in the restaurant. Service wasn't rushed and timed nicely between courses. Didnt feel like we were waiting or rushed. Can't wait to get back!

Simply pho-nominal 🤪 Stopped pho some pho 🍜 and I wasn’t disappointed. I started with the spicy Vietnamese-style chicken wings, crunchy, tasty, and something I’d definitely order again. For the main, I had the 3 Beef Pho, which was fresh and full of flavour. For a moment it almost felt like Hanoi… only with a Scottish accent in the background. 😄 The staff were attentive and friendly, and Chiara was a real star ⭐ kudos to her and the team for great service. Even the toilets were clean and fresh, which always gives a good impression of the place overall. A great spot for a comforting bowl of pho. highly recommended.

This place was ABSOLUTELY incredible! The atmoshpere is incredibly vibey, brining the Vietnamese culture to Edinburgh. The lighting is rather dark and it’s rather quiet. Perfect place for a date or an on outing with family🥰 They had allergens very clearly stated on the menu and 98% of their menu is GLUTEN FREE! Absolutely incredible 😍 the waiters are really attentive! I highly recommend the prawn summer rolls and chicken classic pho soup as well as the beef brisket pho and steak pho. It was delicious. The pho is soooo amazing especially after a long day of sightseeing or working. A cozy meal like this can make your day❤️ a special shoutout to the peanut sauce!😂😝 the best. 10/10 this is my go-to place in Edi.

Favourite place where to get a nice pick-me-up pho!! Especially during chilly, rainy day. If you are torn between their iconic beef pho and 3 mushrooms one, consider having the “house special” that combines brisket and mushrooms, plus the egg yolk makes it creamier and more delicious!!! Finish off with a great Vietnamese-style hot coffee with condensed milk. It’s the right amount of sweet and will wash away the spiciness of your meal. Great location in Lothian Road and attentive staff. Shout out to Chiara who made my day as we chatted during service! She is delightful!! Keep it up!!

Has to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Edinburg, as the food was excellent and full of flavor, and the service phenomenal. Had the spicy brisket curry- so full of flavour! And while it’s chilly outside, I enjoyed the Trip drink- I think it’s called Tea Time, super refreshing, give it a try!

I was very lucky to eat at this establishment! The Pho was so delicious; the spicy 3 mushroom had such an amazing depth of flavour and the morning glory really does the cuisine justice :). The night had a perfectly cosy atmosphere and I felt truly cared for by the servers; especially Molly, who’s such a friendly face to guide you through the menu. Looking for a place to eat by our hotel, the Sheraton and found Pho. Greeted kindly, very extensive menu with lots of vegetarian options and a kids menu, which is a big selling point. Ordered beef pho, curry soup with tofu and mushrooms, kids pho with chicken and crispy veggie spring rolls. All very delicious! Great ending to a busy day of sight seeing!

The food was absolutely delicious. I got the three mushrooms pho, it was so warm, tasty and soothing, a perfect remedy against the Scottish cold weather! The staff was really kind and friendly and the atmosphere nice, definitely enjoyed the meal.

I came to this restaurant with my daughter and friends. Neither of us had ever tried traditonal viatnemaise food but we had a pleasant surprise. The food was absolutely impeccable, not to mention the customer service. Our friend Viki works here and she's been an absolute gem in making sure that not only us but every customer is satisfied with their experience here. 10/10 dinner, more than highly recommend 👌😋

I wanted to leave a good review because I was so grateful to the Lothian Rd Pho staff tonight! There had been a mix-up with one of the dishes I’d ordered for delivery but the staff member I spoke to on the phone was super accommodating and helped me arrange to get what I was meant to. It turned out they’d also treated us to a couple of appetisers on the house which was so kind of them and had written a little note to say sorry. The food, as always, was delicious but I was very appreciative of how attentive the customer service was, especially so close to closing. I wish I’d asked the server’s name so I could give them a shout out but if you’re reading - thank you! X

What a gorgeous dinner. Staying over in Edinburgh and felt so taken care of and at home. Really truly exceptional. Viki was so warm and welcoming, along with all the others who brought me to my table, took my order and brought me my meal. Total delight.

We were served by Chiara. She was friendly, chatty and the service was excellent nothing was an issue. One of us is celiac she was knowledgeable and double checked what was gluten free and even made the kitchen aware. The Pho is amazing the best we have tasted and the drinks are delicious. We would definitely return.

I dined there yesterday and not only was the food fantastic, the service was phenomenal. My server’s name was Chiara, she was humorous and lovely. We had a lovely chat and she was very passionate about the food and helping me pick the best dish. One of the best curries I’ve had. Good price and bill came with a cute postcard. I will be back, and hopefully served by that sweetie again ;)

Best experience, incredible food. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options and almost the entire menu is gluten free, staff is very aware of allergies. As a celiac, I felt very safe eating there. Congratulations to the team!

We came here about 9 or 10 on a Saturday night and it was relatively quiet. Nice food. We had a shared spring roll starter, two curries with rice and two beers costing around £60.

Food was fresh and tasty, good service. Had better stronger tasty Pho in past, but this can be individual. Other meals were well prepared.

My first ever time having pho and Vietnamese food but I will definitely be having more and coming back. It was really lovely and I enjoyed all the extra sauces to add! Unfortunately some of the starters we wanted weren’t available but the staff gave us some suggestions which ended up being our favourite! I thought the prices were good and so was the atmosphere. The staff seemed nice too but not really rememberable , I’m sorry it’s such an odd way to say things but there was little to no personality or conversation from our main server. The two guys who served us were really nice but the girl just was wanting to rush things I felt as if she had better things to do - sort of soured the experience a little.

We went at lunchtime on a weekday when it was very quiet. I found it quite dark in the restaurant, but service was good. I had the hot and spicy chicken noodle soup- the flavour was wonderful but I wasn't a fan of the shredded chicken in it. My husband ordered the beef combo soup, which had really tender meatballs. It had lots of meat and was really flavourful. We also ordered the pork rice combo which was average.Overall we enjoyed the food , I wish they would do a lunch time deal though like many other places do around Lothian road.

We always enjoy coming to Pho and this visit was wonderful as always. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the sound isn't too much either, good acoustics. We had the tofu and mushroom pho and chicken pho and it was very good. We didn't want the garnish and they were very good about that. Yoon was out server and she was very kind, very sweet, very approachable and more than obliging (even just when I asked for more napkins).

Decided to book Pho as a birthday treat for my husband. We were greeted at the door. And the manager wished him a happy birthday after noticing the note on our booking. Starters The crispy pork spring rolls, were as described crispy and fresh . The vinaigrette and peanut sauce were lovely accompaniments and didn't over power the starters. The chicken wings were nicely fried with the meat inside juicy cooked just right. The sriracha sauce went a long nicely with the chicken. And seasoned just right. We were still eating our starters and our mains were bought out to us. So we had to rush to eat the remaining 5 wings. Mains I had the rice bowl with the broken rice, they had ran out of the beef so it was a two meat instead of three, pork and chicken. Found the meat full of flavour but it was dry and it was four small chunks of meat. Meaning you had to bite each piece as they were too big to pull fully into your mouth. The rice was over cooked and wet. It had a nice fragrant taste. It was unpleasant texture to eat, almost to the texture of a pudding rice. After three mouthfuls, I just felt it just hit the bottom of my stomach and couldn't stomach any more. There amount of rice was big compared to ratio of meat. The pho house , the chicken meat was dry and stringy, the prawns over cooked that they had shrunk in size, the beef was over cooked and dry. The broth was nice but needed abit more flavour, no depth of flavour like traditional pho. The broth wasn't very hot. The pho noodles were clumped together so you had to tease them out carefully. Authentic pho has sliced onions in it, this didn't.The portion size was a bit small for the price of £14.75. Morning glory couldn't taste any garlic in the greens, it was heavily seasoned. So much so it made it salty. And we both felt the taste of this long after our meal, as it made us v thirsty. The greens were over cooked and limp, they didn't have much crunch to them. We asked for them to be spicy but the chillies seemed to be a garnish. As they was no taste of chillies through the greens. Surprised this is under the menu as a starter instead of as a side with a main. As the seasoning is so overwhelming to be eaten alone . The Vietnamese ice coffee, it isn't fragrant compared to authentic Vietnamese coffee that I have had. It's missing the rich roast flavour. I was given a hot coffee by mistake and it was changed to cold. Even then I couldn't smell the rich aroma from either, as that's a sign of a good coffee. I was afraid of it being to sweet and requested that the condensed milk be served separately. The staff was happy to do this for me. As it's traditionally served with the condensed milk in the glass. Our server Mikhail was very pleasant and friendly. He was still under instructions from the manager. We gave the manager our feed back on the food. She offered to get me another main to replace the rice dish and take off the morning glory off our bill. But we just wanted to give feedback and not after any thing else. She said the kitchen were still finding their feet, and said will feed it back to the kitchen. We had expected some teeth issues as we dined during the soft opening with 50% off. Found the restaurant where we were sat a bit dark. Some areas are more lite up. The toilets were clean as to be expected to a newly opened establishment. But found it to be unhygienic that the door leading to the toilet was propped open by a small wheelie bin. There was a 12.5% discretionary service charge added to our bill. Card only business Having dined at authentic Vietnamese restaurants and Vietnamese homemade cooked meal by Vietnamese ppl. 'Pho' chain just doesn't hit the spot for me unfortunately. Much better places in Edinburgh. Stars are for the two starters we liked but let down by the mains.

Within 4 minutes of sitting down four different servers asked if we were ready to order yet. Each time we said we’d like a few minutes to look at the menu and a minute later someone else came over to ask the same question. At the end of the meal we tried to pay cash to be told they don’t accept cash. The waitress said everyone is told that when they walk in. We absolutely were not, nor has this been related to us at any visit. Not one of the five people that came over to our table every three minutes was pleasant except a lovely man. Will not be back

ordered spicy tofu curry from deliveroo and definitely got piece of meat in it. I have ordered and eat in multiple times the same curry so I know when it didn’t look right. It is truly horrific and unacceptable. This is contamination. I don’t think I’ll ever order again. Lost a loyal customer!
