An unforgettable Thanksgiving lunch! The roasted tandoori turkey was perfectly cooked with amazing flavor, the pumpkin-spiced gujiya was a beautiful fusion of tradition and creativity, and the yakhni pulao was rich, aromatic, and comforting. Moghul has been around for decades...But they've maintained their quality and ambiance all along! The owner Mr. Mehtani has made sure his restaurant caters to his customers in the most immaculate way! I've seen him almost evertime I have visited the restaurant! Each and every dish we ordered was perfect!

Valentine gave us excellent service and our glasses never went dry. The butter chicken was incredible along with pressure cooker goat was phenomenal not to mention the garlic naan bread. We also found out it was Valentines birthday. What a tremendous service to serve us on his birthday. We will definitely return. Thanks Valentine 🎂🍾

Our waiter Valentine was awesome, so i didn't mind the automatic 20% tip, but i do wish we got to pick the amount i am supposed to tip. We were only three people, not a party. The Sunday buffet was the best way to try a bit off everything. The food was great. I will most likely be back.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Mughal Restaurant . From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was inviting and warm. Our server, Valentine, was exceptionally courteous and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal. We started with the mixed vegetable sizzler and chicken malai kabob—both were packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The sizzler was vibrant and perfectly spiced, while the malai kabob was tender, creamy, and melted in the mouth. For the main course, we enjoyed chicken Kolhapuri and bhindi do pyaza, accompanied by a basket of fresh, warm breads. The Kolhapuri had just the right amount of heat and complexity, and the bhindi was cooked to perfection—flavorful and not at all greasy. Every dish was delicious and made with obvious care. We left full and happy, already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Mughal for anyone craving authentic and well-prepared Indian cuisine—and be sure to ask for Valentine!

I recently dined at Miguel Restaurant in Edison, NJ, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by our server, Valentine. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. He made excellent recommendations from the menu, ensuring we enjoyed some of the restaurant’s best dishes. Valentine’s promptness and attention to detail made our dining experience feel special; it was one of the best services I’ve ever encountered. The food itself was delicious, with vibrant flavors and beautifully presented plates. Each course exceeded our expectations, and we left feeling satisfied and eager to return. If you’re in the Edison area, Moghul Restaurant is a must-visit, and be sure to ask for Valentine—you won’t be disappointed!

The food and the ambience was really good, we keep on visiting here often, but today we tried their new menu. The food was delicious and mouth watering. Prashant a very old server, assisted us and also explained per dish, which we didn’t try. As always their service and food has been top notch . We recommend everyone who has read this, to try their new lamb app and paneer dishes.

Moghul never fails ....providing high quality food and service for years and best in our area......Loved the new presentation of food and menu overall..... Our server Valentine was very sweet , prompt to our requests and very warm host. Even Mohanji new manager is very courteous and monitoring the operations well - visiting all guests continuously. Just 1 request/feedback to NOT to compromise on the food quantity. Example why serve 3 Beetroot Tikkis or small size of Agra Tikki. ...Other than that everything was excellent.

I went for brunch on a Sunday and had the buffet with family+mango lassi add on! It was super busy but the service was warm and accommodating! I loved the food! Don't skip the dosa table people! And the gulab jamun was fire like always! I loved the hot masala tea they kept stocked and of course the mango lassi never ever disappoints!

Much better place for Indian food in Edison than other local completion in the area. Food was very tasty and not overwhelming with spices. Service was attentive and atmosphere inside was calm. Overall very good restaurant for Indian food. I enjoyed the outdoor seating with gas heaters.

Moghul Restutant truly captures a beautiful ambiance and the food is worth everything. We had the Kadai Paneer, Paneer Tikka, Garlic Naans, Tikki Chat, Salad, Rice and Papaad w/ tamarind and mint chutney and it was DELICIOUS. The presentation was beautiful. Our server Valentine was wonderful—so attentive and helpful—offering recommendations and without asking, knowing what we needed! We will definitely be eating here again 🙌🏼

For Thanksgiving Lunch we went to Moghul Restaurant Edison. Chaat and Dosa Station was flawlessly executed. Kashmiri Goat Roganjosh was a fork-tender , aromatic with cardamom and clove .Dal Makhni was the Star , slow cooked to a creamy, smoky perfection. We were also amazed by the flavour of Pumpkin Payassam...this was the first time we tried an Indian inspired Pumpkin dessert.... and it was Amazing!!!!

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Indian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. A special mention to Executive Chef Jitendra, whose culinary skills truly shine through every dish , you can tell a lot of care and expertise goes into the menu. Our experience was made even better by our server Valentine, who was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The service was prompt and welcoming, which added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great Indian food paired with excellent service. I have been a loyal patron of this restaurant for over 20 years, and it remains my #1 recommendation in the Iselin/Edison area. While many Indian restaurants nearby have come and gone, this establishment has stood the test of time by maintaining an incredibly high standard of food quality. The taste is just as outstanding today as it was two decades ago. Beyond the dining experience, their catering service is flawless and perfect for large gatherings. Highly recommended!

Mogul Restaurant in Edison continues to set the bar high for authentic Indian cuisine, and their lunch buffet is nothing short of exceptional. The variety and freshness of dishes make it one of the best dining experiences in the area. From fragrant biryanis and creamy curries to perfectly baked naan and crisp appetizers, every item on the buffet reflects careful preparation and rich, balanced flavors. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian selections alike cater to every palate, ensuring everyone finds something to love. What truly elevated my visit, however, was the outstanding service. Our server, Valentine, was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. He ensured that our water glasses were never empty, explained dishes with enthusiasm, and checked in just the right number of times—never intrusive but always available. His genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made our lunch feel special. The atmosphere at Mogul is elegant yet comfortable, with soft music and a welcoming staff that make it a great choice for both casual lunches and business gatherings. For the quality of food, ambiance, and top-notch service, the lunch buffet offers excellent value. If you’re in Edison and craving flavorful, authentic Indian cuisine served with care, Mogul Restaurant should be at the top of your list. Special thanks to Valentine for making our experience truly memorable.

Moghul has good food and service. We went for dinner on my wife's birthday. The beetroot kabab in the starter was outstanding. The panner butter masala and other dishes were good too. Our server Valentine was very attentive and made the experience special with a candle lit desert at the end after I secretly requested him. The quality of food, service and ambience made it a wonderful experience.

A truly memorable dining experience at Moghul Restaurant. Executive Chef Jitendra deserves special appreciation for delivering food that is deeply rooted in tradition yet refined in execution. Each dish reflected balance, authenticity, and thoughtful technique, rich without being heavy, and comforting while still feeling elevated. A heartfelt mention to Valentine, our server, whose hospitality made the evening exceptional. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, Valentine ensured impeccable service while making us feel truly welcomed. Moghul continues to stand out not just for its cuisine, but for the people behind it. An experience driven by passion, precision, and gracious hospitality. Highly recommended.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Moghul restaurant. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Some of the standout dishes which truly elevated my experience were The Kashmiri Goat Rogan Josh, exceptional and richly spiced tender meat, Butter chicken prepared with flavourful gravy and Chicken Yakhni Pulao complimented it perfectly. Beyond the food, the dining experience was equally impressive. Overall, this dinner delivered a consistently satisfying introduction to authentic North Indian cuisine with excellent execution of traditional flavors. It is a restaurant well worth returning to.

I recently visited the Moghul restaurant for their thanksgiving lunch buffet and to say that it was one of the best culinary experience of my life would be an understatement. The live turkey carving station was definitely the star of the entire show. Apart from that the chicken sukka from the appetizers was to die for. Even the main course dishes were delectable and finger licking good especially the kashmiri goat rogan josh which had super authentic flavours. To top it all of the pumpkin payasam was the perfect end to the entire feast. All in all it is a great place to curb those hunger pangs if you're looking for some tasty and authentic north indian food, combined with the sublime ambience of the restaurant it makes for a solid place and definitely a must visit

I visited this restaurant for a special Thanksgiving lunch and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding: Dal Bukhara was showcasing rich flavours, Veg Nargisi Kofta was delicately spiced and the Gajar Halwa was warm and thankfully not overly sweet. The overall dining experience was smooth and the ambiance added to the festive mood. The food made our Thanksgiving lunch truly satifying. This restaurant is a solid choice for anyone seeking reliable, high-quality North Indian cuisine.

Popped in for an impromptu lunch at Moghul. Food was great. Ordered tandoori shrimp (perfect masala), goat curry and yellow Dal Tadka all very flavorful. All of this was topped off with excellent service from our waiter Valentine who took great care of us.

Very good restaurant with good food, good service and nice ambience. We visited on a Saturday night for family dinner. We had made reservations which is recommended since they do get busy. The interior decor and ambience is very nice. They also have patio and outdoor seating during good weather. The food is tasty and well made. Chef Sanjeev was very attentive and took great care of us and the food being served. There are plenty of options for gluten free, dairy free, nut free and vegan choices. Service was very attentive too. Overall we had a good experience. It has wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. Restrooms were clean.

We had a top notch experience at Moghul! The generous portions and beautiful presenation were immediate highlights of our meal. We were particularly impressed by the creativity and execution of the Chicken 65 Cornetto and the Beetroot Sesame Tikki. The main course was pure comfort, the nostalgic flavor of the Butter Chicken and the rich, creamy Daal Makhni paired perfectly with the fresh Naan. A truly satisfying and visually stunning dining experience!

Today I went to Moghul Restaurant's Sunday lunch Buffet. The Food has real Flavours of India, The taste of Butter chicken and Dal Makhni directly took me to the gallis of Delhi. I also heard the other fellow customers saying Goat Curry and Butter Chicken taste is awesome. The resturant was full, there was hardly any table available. Overall the food is really amazing. A must go place in Edison if you want to have food indian food. Thank you to all chef's of Moghul.

Great food, service could be better. Waited nearly 40 mins to have our order served on a weekday evening. Made me nervous to see that the waiters touched the same doors that the customers did, and then touched the food while serving outdoors. No one sanitized the door handles during the 2 hours we were there. All dishes (other than ther salad for the rotis) were delicious.

Not sure what's going on with the service and food at Moghul these days. The pacing with the waitstaff was sluggish. Our appetizers didn't come out together. While our main course was served timely and warm, the portions have dimished, and the spice level was lacking. I had also asked for a chai at the beginning of service, had to ask about it four times over the course of our meal, and then finally received it in a to-go cup, not even in a real mug or cup. Overall, this experience was mid-level compared to previous Moghul experiences. Hope they get through this rut they've been having these last several months.

Visited for their weekend buffet and was a bit underwhelmed. For the price, the selection felt quite limited, especially for a weekend spread. Some dishes lacked flavor, and the biryani was particularly disappointing—missing the depth and aroma you’d expect. Overall, it’s okay for a one-time visit, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return for the buffet.

We ordered a takeout on August 27, around 2:30pm our order number on check was #15. We ordered a Tandoori Chicken it was burnt excessive charring. Attached is a picture for a view. We were disappointed with quality of food.

Had weekend lunch buffet after a long time and the quality of food has gone down from what it used to be. There was no flavor or taste in any of the items. Paneer, Methi Malai Matar, Dal were all sweet (like almost a sweet dish). Chicken and Goat curry were too bland. All food was cold, not even warm. The tawa veges on tawa were also cold. The Appetizers were acceptable but still did not have a kick of any spices. Sweetdish: Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai were good. Overpriced and overall not recommended for the quality of food!

We had gone for weekend lunch buffet. The food was good, but the Naan and rotis were not at all crisp and didn’t feel fresh. Definitely something that is expected from a premium restaurant. When I asked about the Naan, the waiter was very rude and said that’s what they have and everyone is eating that. To add insult to injury, they added a 20% service charge to the bill, that too for a buffet, where we are doing self service and for waiter that had a terrible attitude. I would ask everyone to question the service charge before going there for a buffet.

Used to be one of favorite places to go and was in heavy rotation. I haven't been in a while (several years) and I decided to go for lunch buffet. The selection wasn't that great but the quality of the food was good. I should have read the comments before I went because the forced 20% gratuity for a buffet took me by surprise. Not a fan of silly practices like that just to make a buck. Won't be coming back. Many Indian restaurants with the same quality if not better in the area to choose from that don't force a 20% gratuity. It's the principle of the matter.

S
Srinivas Madhira

We visited Moghul Restaurant in Edison for a weekday lunch buffet today. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the pricing. The food quality was average and certainly not what we expected, while their service was decent. What stood out the most was their pricing, we were charged $45.90 for two buffet meals, $9.90 for two coke, and an automatic 20% gratuity that added $11.16 to the bill, bringing the total to $71.40 for a casual lunch for two. Particularly the cost of soft drinks and the mandatory gratuity felt excessive and not in line with the overall dining experience, given the average quality of the food and service. I would strongly suggest the management to re-consider their pricing to ensure customer satisfaction.

S
Saiyed Anzar

The ambiance was nice and the staff was very polite and attentive. Service was good, and I appreciated the discount offered on one dish that was not up to the mark. However, the food was seriously disappointing—both in taste and quantity. The water jug had dried water stains, which was completely unacceptable. For the price, I expected much better quality.

S
Shirshak

Our is the best example of how one staff behaviour can spoil the entire experience of the food outing. We arrived at 2pm for the Buffet and since then one of the staff member just tried to hasten the entire process by continuously reminding us about the buffet time. Further, it was heights when finally the same guy told us to leave because they had to prepare for Dinner. This exactly shows that once a business has been in location for years. They start to neglect the service assuming that their business will continue based on only the loyal customers. This mindset needs to be changed else the only outcome is loss of new business. And yes the food and ambience were exceptional!

I’ve lived on the NJ for years, and I can honestly say this is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had—both in terms of food and service. As a vegetarian, I was deeply disappointed by the extremely limited options available. But the biggest letdown was the food quality, which was far below anything I’d expect from an Indian restaurant. The taste was bland, and honestly, I’ve had better frozen meals. To top it off, the service was just appalling. The staff was incredibly rude, and it was clear they had no regard for customer service. For a place in the food industry, the lack of professionalism was shocking. I wish I could give this place a 0 rating because it was that bad. I absolutely would not recommend it to anyone, especially vegetarians looking for a satisfying meal. Avoid at all costs!

A
Amanda Fernandes

We went for the weekend buffet and paid $26 per person. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre, but the biggest issue was the customer service. Our server, Valentine (if that was his real name), was consistently rude and dismissive. Plates were taken before we were finished eating, and after we paid, our card was thrown back onto the table with no courtesy or professionalism. When we brought our concerns to the manager, the response felt completely insincere. Rather than listening or trying to understand the issue, he repeatedly said “I’m sorry” without acknowledging or addressing what actually went wrong. There was no effort to resolve the situation or show genuine concern. Between the poor service, lack of professionalism, and management’s unwillingness to truly listen, we will not be returning. This was not worth the price, and the overall experience was unacceptable.

Changing my original 5 star review to a 1 star as unfortunately google doesn’t have a 0 star review We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at Mughal restaurant. We ordered desi chicken curry, paneer tikka masala, and mutter kebab — unfortunately, none of the dishes came close to meeting expectations. For $17, we received three tiny mutter kebabs that were so soft they fell apart the moment we tried to move them onto our plates. As for the paneer, the staff specifically recommended the tikka masala saying it would be spicy with bigger pieces, yet we were served paneer butter masala instead — overly sweet, came in tiny paneer pieces, and completely off from what we ordered. The chicken was the biggest letdown. We had been told the desi chicken curry would be made with country chicken, but what arrived were chunks of undercooked chicken breast that looked boiled and tossed in gravy, lacking any seasoning or salt. We shared the experience with our waiter who confirmed that the orders were messed up. Service was equally poor. Despite several waiters walking around, no one stopped by to take our order or check in. We were given a table right in front of the entrance, and although we repeatedly closed the door ourselves when others left, the receptionist never bothered to keep it shut. We eventually had to put on our jackets just to finish the meal. The bill came to around $160 for only three dishes and some bread, and to our surprise, a 20% gratuity was automatically added — for what was hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had in a while. Sadly, it’s no surprise this place seems to be on a steep decline.
