Great. Homey atmosphere, wide selection of local and regional craft beer, extensive menu, patio with TV screens, dog friendly, really nice attentive staff. I'd looked at half a dozen places to watch World Cup soccer, but anywhere showing it would only show video without sound. WTH. So soccer would be on with country music on the jukebox blaring in my ear. Not the experience I was looking for. I've been to Main Tap about 10 times so far and love it. Being in the heart of Little Baghdad only adds to the experience.

I haven't been here in a while, when I used to live down the street I was there a couple times a week. Amazing selection of beer and the passport game is pretty legit, I assume they still have it. You had to try 50 different beers and then you would get your name on the wall. I believe I finished it twice. Makes it fun to try new beers. Great staff and the tap handles are awesome.

Great place to hang, I've been here twice. Both times for the UFC fight with my brother. The beer and food is decently priced. I love the beer, Oh la la I think was the name I drank most of evening. The meun is good, overall food is good.I ordered the carna asadsa fries which were yummy, the buffalo wings in sauce is good. During events the service is sorta of long, but makes up time waiting for fight to start. The parking is in back, always available. The vibe is chill, I've never encountered a issue. Want to visit non event night.

Love this place. Rotating Craft beer on tap. The kitchen is on fire. Love the penutbuter burger and there chicken tender basket is awesome. Also have an out side area with a fire pit. The outside is almost as large as the inside so it's almost like a smoking bar. Not a Great place for dancing because it's not large enough but it's encuraged most of the time. They do karaoke and triva on wednsdays and straight karaoke on fridays. Great place to come chill at with good prices

The bartender Jennifer was excellant! I had always thought this bar was beer and wine only. Duh Nope full bar with quality top shelf drinks! Wait they also serve food!! I ordered a Rueben and it was good size and fabulous. It came with choice of FF or potato salad. I had potato salad and that too was very good and home made. I was able to bring half of my sandwich home. So i would say MAIN TAP is a winner. Thanks Jennifer I'll be back!!

Not obvious is the food. The kitchen is well hidden. But the food is reasonably priced and excellent. Beer is good too. Adequate free parking in the rear.

Good beer selection and great pub food. Nice patio out back with a fire pit and tv's if you're a smoker. Definitely worth checking out.

My friend and I were looking for a bar and grill in El Cajon the other day and came across this place and I'm so glad we did! Food was so delicious, drinks were nice and cold AND they have a great happy hour selection! Definitely going back!

Dive bar with a great atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. And a Jack and Coke was not in a short glass but in a pint glass. Would definitely visit again.

Great beer selection, really like the back patio for a laid back happy hour with friends. Parking in the area behind the bar is plentiful, but if you don't know it's there you end up having to locate parking on the very busy main street. Service is either wonderful or nonexistent, seems to depend on who is working.

They were busy. Raiders vs Chargers. Food is good. That wait, they were busy, so it took some time. Wings and fish tacos.. they were good. Beer was ice cold. Good prices.. lots ot beer on tap, hence the name.

For El Cajon, it's probably the best that it gets! So if you have some visitors from the beach area or whatever, don't take them to one of those other "bro" bars...take them here and get 'em trashed! The bar is full of tasty craft beers from some of the best local breweries. They also serve cask and nitro beers. In addition to their vast draft selections, they also have some bottled ones as well. I haven't had any of the food here, but I've heard it's pretty good. Do yourself a favor...get there early and take over the jukebox before anyone else does... Pros: LOTS of great craft beer. Live bands on Fridays. Sweet smoke area out back with chairs and tables. Fire pit. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good happy hour prices on beers. Cons: Drunks. Not enough pool tables. Jukebox being taken over by Disturbed /Nickelback / Kid Rock fans.

Definitely a bit of a dive, but for a late drink in El Cajon you could do worse. Weekly events like karaoke and live bands. The bartenders are cool and the fire pit outside is always a chill spot to meet new people.

It was my first time here. Beer was flat when I was there(I tried a few, and they were all flat). I wanted to order food, but we could not due to no cook. very disappointing 😞

Your local bar but with a decent selection. The location is pretty large, but I found myself not wanting to touch many places being that it felt like a dark dated biker bar. The beer selection was nice. A lot of local beers on tap, but the selection was nothing but all the local IPAs, very little wheat or even dark beer selection.

The female bartender was very slow to make contact with the customers and kept forgetting drink orders. The off duty bartender had to jump in to make my drinks. Aside from that the food is great, the ambiance is nice, and the karaoke DJ was awesome.

The “outdoor” smoking area blows right into the bar. They need to clean the bathrooms. I’m sure they make enough to rent a power washer and buy some paint.

It was 6 PM on a Wednesday and they had 3 guys drilling behind the bar. I think they said they were working on the keg, but there was so much noise from them working, the bartender had to blast the music to try and cover it up. I asked about one of the items I ordered because it had been about 40 minutes, and I was told the bartender forgot to order it; this bit of information was shared with me 15 minutes after the first time I inquired about the status of my food because I was already waiting for a while and was told "it's coming right up". Yikes. When your establishment isn't busy but you expect patrons to be patient with you, the least you could do is offer good customer service. For 50 bucks, there are plenty of other options you could choose for dinner and drinks. I don't recommend this spot.

Nice tap list, but on the day I was there the draft system wasn't working well and all the beers were pouring warm and flat. Also, the kitchen was closed on the Wednesday I was there.

I was walking in I needed to use the bathroom and ask how much the cheapest drink is to use the bathroom he was nice enough to let me use it without paying anything but the woman that used the bathroom before me took long about 3-6 minutes just to use the bathroom and finally I got to use it there was pee on the toilet so afterwards I finished up within 7 minutes the bartender who helped me banged on the door like the police then tells me that's customers need the bathroom and that's fine and I let him know the previous person might have peed on the toilent but he looked at me like i was lying or I'm homeless when I had explained to him I just left the trolley and that I was walking to get home and so i left but the Approach to get me out of the bathroom was very aggressive even when I offered to pay my services there, so I will not be coming back to this bar for any future reference for anybody. Even when I was just walking in to use the bathroom. And offering to pay for anything, just do that. They will not be getting my services again. If you look homeless or apparently dress in slids and romper and big jacket thats looks like it you keep warm on the walk or even to dress an certain way like dresses and mini shorts in the club there is a certain way looking like a homeless and who doesn't have money for Expensive drinks. or ask for an reasonable price drink or shot they will judge you off of that or to look an certain way and treat you like I'm not welcome shoot it almost made me feel like an racism thing was happening there was not much black people in the location just other races which made feel like i was trying get something for free or supposedly dirty their bathroom like some homeless do and there at this location they only care about their money or should say looking for those tips no proper customers services or the customer is right that's what's to expect from this location working for customer services in any field you must treat the all customers with utmost respect even when you trying buy and have great service to come back again to spread the news about this location I recommend doing business somewhere else if you're black or not "looking" homeless to these people apparently you have look or be a certain way to get the best service there.

Horrible overcooked food. Waste of $. Hardly edible. Both burgers are past well done and fries are over done. The mediocre onion rings are only thing not ruined. Go elsewhere for food. I love good bar food. This is NOOOOT it.
