Deseando volver
We just had lunch at Bon Aire and it was amazing! We had the red pepper and eggplant as appetizer, which is very light and refreshing, love it! The seafood paella is full of flavor and rice was cooked just perfect to our liking. Everybody is super sweet, and made us feel so welcoming being we are maybe the only Asian couple in the restaurant😃. Love this cute little town, a great memory indeed. Thank you!
Wanting the most authentic paella experience possible, i decided to venture out to El Palmar, which seems to be the mecca for paella restaurants. It took an hr by bus from central Valencia and soon, the city fades away and the rice fields come into view. You’re transported to the countryside, and Bon Aire is as scenic as it can get as it faces the rice fields, and the restaurant itself feels light and airy. There is a very diverse variety of paellas, and while I don’t regret the seafood paella that I ordered, I do wish that I had ordered something more unique that you can’t get in conventional paella restaurants, like the eel/fish one. The paella was amazing, as expected, very flavourful, although I admit I had expected more shrimp/prawns. The service was great, and I especially appreciate the complimentary crema arroz at the end of the meal. It was a wonderful experience. The only warning I would give is to double check the transportation, turns out the bus to go back to town had a frequency of only once an hr, and the bus i was waiting for had broken down, so there was another wait for a replacement bus. The trip back basically took an extra 3 hrs. But, it didn’t mar my experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back, but with better transportation options!
They won world championships of paella, so must be doing somethng right. 2 floors full of people as welll as outdoors. Ordered the paella valenciana which was fantastic, a bottle of house red which was medium bodied and paired well with the food, calamaris, mejillones, All i pebre (eel stew), all were excellent. Service was great. I was alone and they all kept checking in to see if everything was alright.
We had two traditional eel dishes and they were both very interesting but the most delicious of all was the arroz meloso with oxtail and mushrooms which was perfectly cooked and combined amazing flavors. This restaurant is a great place to try traditional dishes from the region and all the staff was really nice!
The paellas are incredible. We tried the Valencian paella, and I never imagined it would be that good. The mix of beans and artichokes gave it a special touch — I fell in love with it and could eat it many times over. The Iberian ham paella also offered an amazingly unique experience, with truffles on top and an incredible blend of flavors. Besides that, we tried three desserts and two starters, which were also very good, but my highlight definitely goes to the paella. It was without a doubt the best paella experience I could have had in Valencia.
I am a chef from NYC and now living in Spain and we literally waited for the right moment to eat Valencia Paella. We heard many great things about this restaurant and after dining for lunch with my husband who is also a French chef and some friends, we adventured out to Bon Aire. All I can say is go and enjoy a lovely afternoon of Paella and more. Everything was top notch and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service is excellent. We will surely be back. Gracias Gracias Team Bon Aire!!!
One of my top places at El Palmar. All the rices I have tried here were amazing, and the staff is super friendly. Last Saturday we went for the traditional Valencian paella, and again it was just perfect. The restaurant itself is also very nice and well located in the town, close to one of the main parkings. I definitely recommend Bon aire if you are planning your next paella in La albufera.
We came on recommendation from our Uber driver in Valencia. Reservations are necessary to ensure you get a table as they fill quickly. We were able to make a next day appt (Sunday) for 10 people, no easy feat, and Bon Aire did not disappoint! We had already eaten Paella everyday for the past week straight.. and everyone at our table agreed this was the best we’d had! We ordered the traditional Valencian paella, sangria, and a few cappuccinos as we had already killed an hour of time waiting before our reservation at another small restaurant in Albufera. The rice was cooked perfectly to al dente and the flavor here just jumps out at you. There are some great views of the rice paddies here as well. We know how tough it is to get in somewhere with a large group last minute and the staff was pretty accommodating to us. The experience was great and we can’t wait to come back and see you again!
Bon Aire Restaurant – Albufera de Valencia From the moment we stepped through the doors of Bon Aire, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, professional welcome immediately set the tone, and the impeccable service continued throughout our visit. The true star, however, was the food—easily one of the best meals we have ever had. We began with the most delectable Croquetas de Bacalao, perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside, followed by Puntillas de Calamar so tender they seemed to melt in your mouth. For our main course, we had pre-ordered the Arroz Meloso with shredded Oxtail —a dish that can only be described as extraordinary. The rice was perfectly cooked, infused with the rich, deep flavors of oxtail and fresh mushrooms. Every bite was a masterful balance of texture and taste. To finish, we indulged in a heavenly Tarta de Queso and a decadent Pastel de Chocolate, followed by a smooth, sweet Café bombón—the perfect ending to a perfect meal. A special highlight was meeting Borja Marco Roig, the Jefe de Paellero, whose passion and skill clearly shines through this incredible delicious restaurant. Bon Aire is not just a restaurant—it’s an unforgettable culinary experience in the heart of the Albufera. If you’re in Valencia, it’s an absolute must.
Thank you Bon Aire for the wonderful vegan paella. It was perfect. We also enjoyed our torrijas (an absolute must) for dessert. The booking system was easy and a great way to let the venue know what we were ordering in advance. The staff were lovely and very attentive. It was also great that there was the right amount of staff available, which is not very common in Spanish venues! A highly enjoyable experience for sure.
Spectacular Experience at Bon Aire – A Must-Visit! We had an unforgettable lunch at Bon Aire – hands down the best Paella Valenciana we’ve ever had! The flavors were rich and authentic, clearly made with passion and local tradition. The starters were fantastic, especially if you're into eel – there were several delicious options to try. The white wine from Valencia was perfectly chilled, and paired beautifully with the food. Every detail, from the warm and attentive service to the stunning view from our table, made the experience feel truly special. As a perfect touch, we left not only with wonderful memories but also a pack of the local rice they cultivate right in the village – a great reminder of an incredible meal. Bon Aire is spectacular. If you're anywhere near, you absolutely need to visit.
A fabulous lunch at a highly awarded paella restaurant. When you pick one of the best places in the village that is right in the middle of the rice growing area, you know it's gonna be good. Very thin paella with so much beautiful caramelised "socarrat" with that deep flavour. The local eel stew dish was also wonderful - very tender. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we got a table right by the window, so you can see where the rice grows. Also, as paella prices go (bear in mind the price shown is per person!) The prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended.
We took an hour bus ride just to eat here and it was worth every minute. Everything was incredible! The service was wonderful and sitting outside was refreshing and relaxing! Things to note: Make a reservation, they book up fast! Come hungry — seriously! You can order the paella ahead of time (because it typically takes 35-45 mins, depending on your order) and it’ll be ready for your reservation. (We did not do this, but preferred it that way since we needed a break from the tapas we had before the paella.) Order a pitcher of the sangria; it was a perfect pairing to all the seafood dishes we had. Savor the flavors!
We were given very good view seats of the fields even if it was indoors. This made our eating experience uninterrupted by the outdoor seating elements like wind and cars passing by. Ordered a couple of appetizers (squid with green beans and roasted garlic and the roasted peppers/ eggplant with pine nuts) and even those were prepared elegantly but homey style flavors. But of course the star was the paella… and the star of the paella was definitely the rice— done perfect! They also had very good wines by the glass (tried the Verdejo).

Best Paella ever. Right in the town where it was invented. We did not try the traditional, bu a fish variant with crab. Just super advised! Prices are reasonable.

Got the 24 bus from Valencia and had a good local paella in this restaurant. Good value. Friendly staff. We had bread to start and the the honey paella, plus some drinks and the bill was euro36
Food was really good. We had paella and it was really well cooked. price was according to the quality. Finally, the service was also good.
This is a good restaurant. The service was great. The atmosphere outside was really nice facing the rice paddies. We got the mixed paella and the potatoes (for a starter). They charge for the bread and the dipping sauces about 3€ each. We didn't know that and we would not have gotten it. Small bottle of sparkling water was 3€. The paella is for 2 people and is 18€ each. I personally didn't think it was worth it. The food was good but we didn't think it was great. Maybe all the hype or our expectations were too high.
