What a hoot this place is, always wanted to come and finally had the chance while in town. Competitive pricing on food and drinks and all with a great atmosphere and great live music from a great group of folks. The burrito was massive and I couldn't finish but took it home for seconds. The young lady that served our table was so sweet and was very attentive.
Iconic to say the least. Usually a place like this becomes an over priced tourist trap BUT NOT ROSA'S!! Great prices on authentic food served by some of the best in the business. Terrific place to stop if you are traveling through . Even better place to become a regular if you are local!!!
My kind of bar. Touch tunes available when there’s not live music performance. I’ve been here a few times now. Usually the parties I go with order the spicy margarita and they always say it’s amazing. More of a beer drinker myself. I had the brisket nachos here or I think it’s cantina nachos and added brisket. Super good. I had the burger with chile con queso in it. Amazing El Paso staple.
Excellent food with a fantastic atmosphere. Easy to find.
Good vibes feels cozy, food is good huge portions for the price
My wife and I were in El Paso for the El Paso Marathon. We had to try Rosa's Cantina. When we arrived there was 1 open table and there was a lady singing and playing the saxophone. We sat enjoyed the great music and ordered food. Food was delicious, service was extremely friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place was terrific! Highly recommended.
I love this hidden gem! The vibe was good, the pistachio shot was amazing, and the food came out quickly even though it seemed busy. Can't wait to visit again!
Stopped in on a spontaneous visit to El Paso. It was a quick stop but really enjoyed this places that Marty Robbins sang about in "El Paso". I really liked the tortilla chips. I had the double cheese burger and my wife had the cheese burger. They were great. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us.
On a recent trip to El Paso, we had to visit the original Rosa’s Cantina from Marty Robbins’ song “El Paso.” The restaurant/bar is definitely old, but the interior is very clean and welcoming. The food and service were both commendable. If you’re down this way, do yourself a favor and check out this piece of history.
Great food and service!!! This place was packed when we came in, so we knew it was going to be great, and boy were we right! To end the meal with fresh made warm sopapillas was perfect! We are definitely going to find a reason to drive back to this place from AZ!
This place was awesome. Karaoke night and the people performing were awesome. Met some families there and they were friendly and invited us back to meet up with them on every Wednesday. Food was great. Atmosphere was awesome. Glad we went there and would definitely go back if in the area.
Unbelievable, must try. Most authentic Mexican food you can have in the southwest!! Service is incredible, with genuine smiles, attentive waitresses/waiters! everyone is welcome! Incredibly clean and service is five stars!! 🇺🇸 Zaya was my personal favorite-she’s incredible! Highly recommend!
“Just went head-to-head with the famous Martha burrito at Rosa’s Cantina — and let me tell you, Bertha don’t play. That beast came loaded with flavor, heat, and attitude. I walked in hungry and walked out humbled, full, and smiling. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and take on Bertha. Highly recommend.”
Had Martha's Burrito with both sauces. Both sauces had a little heat but tasted good. The burrito was filled with rice and beans and they were quite flavorful. I would enjoy both on their own. The burrito was big and very filling. They had a large selection of beer and drinks. Will definitely be returning.
This place was a must visit on our last trip to the states. We even planned the whole trip around the visit and we were not disappointed the food was bloody lovely the staff were wonderful. If you find yourself in this West Texas town pop in and savour the atmosphere and great food. Just mind the sand storms that Pop up out of nowhere.
🌵 Rosa’s Cantina: A Spicy Slice of El Paso Soul 🌶️ Stopped in on a whim and left with a full belly and a happy heart. Rosa’s was buzzing with energy — the kind of place where the jukebox hums, the tables are full, and the staff still manages to greet you like an old friend. I went for the picadillo burrito, smothered in green chile sauce, and let me tell you — it did not disappoint. The portion was generous, the picadillo rich and savory, and that green chile? Just the right kick to make your taste buds dance without setting off alarms. Comfort food with character. Despite the crowd, service was impressively quick and genuinely warm — a rare combo these days. If you haven’t made your pilgrimage to this El Paso legend, you’re missing out on a true local gem. Rosa’s isn’t just a cantina — it’s a rite of passage.
Incredible place and better people. I was working in the west Texas town of El Paso so of course I had to stop in here and was glad I did. A true local bar where they treat visitors like family. I was only there a few times that week but shared a beer or two with good people like Albert, Alexandro, Mundo and others. Words can't do it justice just go see for yourself. You will be glad you did.
I went to visit because of the Marty Robbins song, but loved it when I got there. It has a timeless look that makes it easy to see wicked Felina dancing and feel the amorous armor of the dashing Cowboy trying to win her Heart. I had the combo plate, but they had a meatloaf special so I took it to go.
Grabbed a quick lunch here for the first time. The outside has a classic, but tasty, “hole in the wall” look/feel to it. The parking seems large, but I have driven by where it’s full. There is a sign in the parking lot entrance that states there is more parking available a block away so be prepared to possibly get your steps in for the day! Worth the walk is what I have to say. This is ONE of TWO restaurants in El Paso, that I’ve been to, that has authentic red sauce and it’s actually saucy, not dry. The queso fries to start is my recommendation. The fries themselves are well seasoned CRISPY. Whoever preps and fries those bad boys deserves an award. The chile rellenos have fresh cheese in them and perfectly fried in their egg-whipped coat. Another star is found in EP!

Good food, good prices, fun atmosphere. The bands I've seen play there have been good and not too loud so you can comfortably have a conversation.

The food was good and the atmosphere fun. Walking through the parking lot, you almost could see the song play out in the dusty mountains that are the backdrop for the cantina.

How can you resist going to the bar/restaurant made famous by a Marty Robbins tale of love and murder? Anyway, this was not a trip we will regret. The parking lot is a tiny dirt lot. But once inside, we were told by the first waitress to walk by us that we can sit wherever we'd like. Once we chose our table we were quickly welcomed by our server and she left us with some chips and salsa. Overall, the place was too full to comfortably take pictures of the whole room . Despite being busy, the service was fast. The food was not the best, but we've had much worse. I do like that don't skimp on the lettuce and tomatoes. I suspect that after a drink or two, the food would really hit the spot! They also sell t-shirts, hats, stickers and coasters. All in all, with the attentive service and t-shirts to commemorate the experience, we'll definitely be back. Not only will we be back, but we'll also be bringing our out of state family for a visit. This way they'll get to enjoy the food, history of how long the bar has been around and bragging rights of visiting the bar where Marty fell in love with a Mexican girl named Felina and killed for her.

First time eating here and I had high expectations for authentic Mexican food. We ordered the shredded beef tacos, and although the shell was good, the shredded beef was incredibly tough and had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. Maybe the other menu items are good, but stay away from the shredded beef tacos. Very disappointed.

This place is a total letdown from start to finish. The food was greasy, bland, and clearly thrown together with no care or pride. Nothing tasted authentic, nothing tasted fresh, and calling it Mexican food is honestly generous. Every bite felt like regret. If you came here expecting flavor, quality, or tradition, you’re in the wrong place. The whole experience feels like a biker bar that decided to slap food on plates and call itself a restaurant. The theme is misleading, the execution is sloppy, and the atmosphere doesn’t match the menu at all. It’s loud, chaotic, and completely misses the mark on what it’s trying to be. This wasn’t just disappointing, it was embarrassing. Easily one of the worst places I’ve eaten at. Do yourself a favor and skip it. There are far better options literally anywhere else.
