Kaya Sushi – The Best Sushi Spot Around! We live in Santa Monica, but we make the drive to El Segundo at least once a month just to eat at Kaya Sushi—because it’s simply the best sushi restaurant around! The menu offers an extensive variety of options, and everything we’ve tried has been excellent. I especially love their creative takes on traditional dishes, adding a unique twist while maintaining authentic flavors. The service is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always making us feel welcome. Highly recommend this place! A solid 10/10 in every way. If you go, don’t miss out on the Spicy Crunch Rainbow Roll and the Marilyn Mon-Roll—they're our absolute favorites
One of my top sushi rolls. If you are vegetarian do not pass on ordering the spicy tofu roll! Texture was crunchy and so flavorful! Love as well the garlic edamame. 🤍 service amazing !
Great all around, rice was perfect cook and perfect seasoning, big portions for nigiri
I love this place, I feel like family here, they have good food and good service. I am always taken care of and provided the best service. I make it a point to come here after every chiropractic appointment and take a spot at the counter and have enjoyed every meal I have had here so far. Planning to try out the whole menus, from the sushi to the cooked mean lunch bowls, all have tastes good and fresh and you can tell it’s quality ingredients. Will continue to come here for lunch for as long as I can.
Good food! I liked my waitress, she was very kind.
Really comfortable and calming atmosphere. The service is amazing, and the food is really good too. I’d absolutely come back.
The best sushi in California!! My girl Sharron is the best host ever. I visit LA once a year to spend time with family, and it's a must to eat there.
The Sunny’s roll might have been one of the best things I have ever eaten. I can’t wait to go back and order more.
great restaurant with very friendly staff. Food is excellent quality, fish is very fresh. I love coming here!
Love coming here with the family and friends. Staff takes terrific care of us every time and the sushi is spectacular. Never a complaint. Always enjoy a meal at Kaya Sushi.
Excellent service, very attentive to what we ordered. The Food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered a Bento teriyaki Chicken box and also a Sunnyside roll with a Popcorn Lando Roll. The 3 pc Yellowtail was very meaty and fresh. Great place to have Sushi at any time of the day! 12/29/21 at 1pm was a great experience!
Nice and clean spot with friendly service and tasty food. I got the spicy pork bento box and it hit the spot. Great portion size and very delicious food. It’s a bit on the pricey side (even on the lunch special) but it was worth it. Last call for lunch is 1:30pm so be sure to arrive earlier than that to get your order in before they close to prep for dinner service.
One of the best meals we’ve had in Kelowna! We tried several appies, entrees and dessert too. Every dish we ordered was amazing. Lots of flavour and creative combinations. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We look forward to our next meal here.
I had the most exceptional experience dining with Kaya Sushi. I highly recommend! How do I start this review? After a long day of travel I was looking for a place to eat that was near my hotel. Never did I expect to find such a treat. Sushi places these days seem to all play the same. Good food, tho rarely the exception. My Kaya experience was the exception. The very personable servers entertained my request to delight me with something special, a signature dish, something that would stand out. Under their guidance, I ordered the Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi special, made extra special using Toro, a favorite of mine. This delicate and delicious dish was phenomenal! Amazing!! To complement that dish I ordered their rainbow roll too. Whoa! Fresh, full of flavors and so well presented. One of the best I’ve had anywhere. Such as these dishes were, I didn’t touch my soy sauce, wasabi or ginger! Heck, even the miso soup was on point! Dinner was accompanied by a Orion beer severed with a frozen beer mug. Dessert was not forgotten, my choice was a warm saki and the chef surprised me with a complimentary dish too (I don’t what it was, it was very tasty too!). Thank you Chef and servers for an exceptional experience!
BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD! Went for lunch and am making a reservation for dinner tomorrow. If anyone wants some good high quality Sushi, this is the place to go. The service is amazing and you get big portions for not a lot of money. I am 14 and if I could rank this 1/100 it wouldn't even be on the list, it would be higher than 100....by a LOT! The chef's food is AMAZING! Their fish is to die for!
A must stop for me when I’m in LA. Love the food, ambiance and especially the service. A big fan of the green tea, uncle kwans stir fry noodles, and the tempura. Tried most of the options and keep coming back to those. I ventured out and tried the baked scallop roll this time - like everything else - excellent!
Super romantic patio setting just for us...seriously no one else there at 5pm sharp loved it..food was light healthy and delicious Tuna 🍣 salad..crunchy asparagus and garlic mushrooms...Lobster rolls were amazing and edamame beans love that you can enjoy a lengthy conversation while popping those pods. Honey Ginger tea was perfect since it gets a bit cold after 5pm but heat lamps will help keep you cozy and warm..COVID safety regulations in place and now seating is available indoors limited but available if you wish.
This place was great and it makes me sad that I don't live in LA. Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Service was great and attentive.
The Location is a bit tricky but this place is fantastic. I was early to go to the airport so I stopped by for a bite and I was very pleased with every roll they brought out. The Mochi ice cream also was great. The staff was very friendly. The miso soup bowls are a bit slippery. We dropped one and the staff brought another one out immediately and cleaned up the mess. 5 stars. I’d def come back before my trips.
Excellent service, thought the food was well prepared and reasonably priced. Got California roll and teriyaki chicken and both were excellent. Parking can be tough to find though,
Food was amazing…John was great! Best spot in the area… He was very funny :)
2018 review: My favorite sushi restaurant in the South Bay! The Korean bulgogi is also amazing! It is expensive, but worth it. 2025 review: I returned to Kaya 7 years after moving out of the area and was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality was just as I remembered!
Fantastic bento boxes and sushi. Soft shell crab was perfect! Service was also prompt and attentive but not intense. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!
Clean, soft music, great staff, chill vibes. Slightly pricey, but you're definitely getting the bang for your buck. Food quality is phenomenal. 10/10!
First time here for lunch. They have patio seating in front and to the side. Ordered the bento box with teriyaki salmon. It came with 4 pcs of tempura, 3 California roll, 3 pcs nigiri (tuna, salmon, whitefish), salad and cucumber. Everything was fresh and quite delicious. Miso soup was served before the bento box came out. Will definitely be back to try the sushi rolls.

This is my cheers! I travel ALL the time and come here after I land if I’m lucky enough to be on time. 9 times out of 10 I sit at the bar, and talk to Seung, who by the way makes the most amazing spicy tuna roll you have ever had! Sharon is amazing and makes everyone feel like family. Sometimes I want to be basic, and sometimes I want the crazy rolls, but I am always happy when I eat here! The bathrooms are so clean I could eat off the floor. Do yourself a favor, come to kaya!
Last night I stopped by Kaya Sushi during a visit to El Segundo from Santa Monica, and once again, it reminded me why it’s one of my favorite spots. From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting, tasteful décor, and calm background music create a relaxing atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. My server took the time to make sure everything was just right, which always makes the experience more enjoyable. I ordered the Nigiri Salmon, which was incredibly fresh, buttery, and full of flavor—it practically melted in my mouth. For my entrée, I went with the Dak Bul Go Gi (chicken), and it was phenomenal: tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with savory flavor. Every bite was a reminder of how much care they put into their dishes. One of the things I love most about Kaya Sushi is how consistently great everything is. Whether it’s sushi, entrées, or even just the peaceful vibe, they always deliver. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over your meal, enjoy good conversation, and leave feeling satisfied and relaxed. Whenever I’m in El Segundo, Kaya Sushi is a must-stop. If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful food and a truly welcoming dining experience, I can’t recommend it enough

Pretty good sushi. Not the best but pretty good. I thought that atmosphere was nice and the service was good. It was rather expensive for two people but then adding everything is super expensive these days. I would definitely go there again.
Had a great meal at Kaya Sushi! Their menu offers a wide variety of sushi rolls, Japanese entrees, and even Korean dishes. I particularly enjoyed their Spicy Pork Ramen (if I recall the name correctly). The broth was flavorful and had a nice kick of spice, and the pork was tender and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great place to enjoy a satisfying Japanese meal.
Great sushi!!! Found it a bit too pricey. My husband and I ordered 3 rolls, 10 pieces of sashimi, a glass of wine and a beer, total came to $175. 00. My favorite dish was the popcorn lobster roll. Staff were friendly, restaurant was clean.
Mixed review. The atmosphere was nice. The food was good. Unfortunately the server forgot to put in one order and had to be reminded. So one dish arrived after the rest of the party had finished. Plus the server didn't seem very apologetic for the mistake.
We were happy to find this restaurant. The food was really good and they give you a lot. We enjoyed taking some home.
Kaya Sushi in Inglewood was… fine. Solid 3.5/5. I had the bluefin nigiri, a yellowtail hand roll, and one of their specialty rolls. Everything fresh, fish quality decent, but exactly what you’d expect—nothing more, nothing less. The bluefin? Good. But didn’t have that melt-in-your-mouth richness that really makes great nigiri shine. Yellowtail hand roll was wrapped nice, rice to fish ratio on point, but nothing that made me stop and go wow. Specialty roll? Tasty enough. But kinda just there. If craving sushi, sure, it works. But travel for it? Nah. Too many better spots in LA to bother.
The food was alright. The stir-fry udon was extremely sweet. The service was good and fast. There was no wait on a Saturday night. There is plenty of free parking.

The food itself is good. However, for the price you don't really get what you pay for. Service is basic at most, no engagement past "do you want anymore rolls?" Or "you want another drink" it's just not worth it. You get a similar flavor at smaller Japanese restaurants.
High priced sushi rolls. No bells & whistles, on presentation either. Nothing over the top to justify the price points. As a patron you get lost on the menu. The vegetable & shrimp tempura are nice. This place has potential if they get their product in line with what you get for the money.
Takeout review: Ordered Lily’s roll and Sautéed Mushrooms / Aspargus. Both had good flavor but were not plentiful for the price. Perhaps it is a better experience in-person ?

Dont go here if you are trying something new. If you don't like an item, they will force you to pay for it. They won't swap the item for something else if you ask. So your stuck with it on the table and check. For the price they demand, this will cost you alot of money. For a new customer, this really shows that they care more about the money than ensuring happy returning customers.
Me and my partner actually wanted to order something from the menu, but the waiter intervened 3 times and urgently recommends the chef's daily pick - a selection of a total of 8 sushi per person put together by the chef. We were practically urged to order the Daily Pick. Unfortunately we forgot to ask what these 8 pieces of sushi cost per person. When the bill came we were really shocked. We were charged $140.00 for this. Outright usury. We insisted on a price reduction, but we were only threatened. We then asked the boss, but she didn't listen to our concerns either. So that's how we paid. Something like that has never even come close to happening to us in our whole life and then the sushi was only mediocre. So dear people: definitely don't eat there, only when you like to get ripped off.
I stopped here on our vacation and had a really weird experience. Our son had been loud upon arrival but settled down once he started eating. The server told us if he didn’t quite down we would need to leave. I understand loud environments. Patrons can get drunk and loud. Not a kid friendly place but an amazing staff! Terrible management!
